Family / Let Us All Boycott MMM To Send Them A Message!! by LadyWinona: 12:36pm On Nov 25, 2016
b]REDUCE THE LENGTH OF DURATION OF YOUR *PERMANENT* MORATORIUM!! [/b]

The message is simple. You can't knowingly hold one's money ransom under the guise of moratorium for any period you feel like especially when the said person had paid also known as providing help. It is simply inhumane.

It is either you employ more staff to handle the requests or throw in the towel and tell us really why you are refusing to release or money.

My dear Nigerians, this is not exclusive to me as it can affect either you or your loved ones tomorrow for no just reason.

My take is to send them a message by refusing to provide help.

Think about it, of what use is it when you are not sure you can get it out your money all because of their Moratorium?

Business / Is Anyone Experiencing Problems With Chrisvicmall? by LadyWinona: 1:31pm On Aug 24, 2013
The seed of doubt was planted in my mind this week when I discovered that I was getting virtually no response to my calls or mails.

The feedback is so poor, the tracking number useless. Everything seems to move at a slow pace. I am yet to get what I haver ordered for and frankly speaking I am getting worried.

I had created this to know from you all your experiences and whether my fears are Unfounded. I need something, anything to convince myself that I am in the right hands.

If there are suggestions on how they can improve, that would be welcomed as well

Thank you

teema22: @chrisvic, I paid into your diamond acct since morning, and till now, am unable to credit my acct. I sent you mails, no response.. Please, credit my acct
It really is a pity. I really don't understand why so much delay. Today will make it the 5 th day I have paid and til now, it looks like I am literally begging for my business transactions to be honoured.
Hello victor, if you are reading this, please understand that as humans, we do want to trust you. In my own case, I must confess that I am getting worried, since till now, there is no indication in my page that I have paid, no transaction in my tracking status. Nothing. Had anyone experienced this? What did you do to resolve this?

Politics / Re: True Picture of the Light Situation in Anambra State.!! by LadyWinona: 11:25pm On Jul 29, 2013
Hmm mm.... Interesting. Currently, there is an article in Vanguard saying that there has been uninterrupted light for 3 weeks now in Anambra. I believe that someone had already posted it here in nairaland.com. https://www.nairaland.com/1377236/anambra-celebrates-3-weeks-uninterrupted. I am from the state and I am getting a completely different report from my people there.
So, is this mere propaganda? Do we fold our hands and watch these politicians that we call our leaders take credit for services yet to be rendered?
Pls, Anambrarians, let us give them a true picture of what is going on in this state believing that by doing this, someone out there in the helm of affairs can step in and correct this.
Politics / True Picture of the Light Situation in Anambra State.!! by LadyWinona: 10:17pm On Jul 27, 2013
With respect to the light situation in the country, I was wondering whether the south east are being left out of the agenda. From what I was able to gather so far from previous articles, Lagos, Benin and Abuja seem to be the best lit areas in Nigeria.
So, using Anambra as a case note to represent the south East, I will appreciate it if nairalanders living in Anambra can tell us the light situation there. I guess starting from the big cities like Onitsha, Awka or Nnewi will be a good pointer. Thank you.

I had created the above post earlier on to know the 'light' situation in Anambra knowing fully well that it is epileptic at best. You can imagine my shock when I read this article https://www.nairaland.com/1377236/anambra-celebrates-3-weeks-uninterrupted in Vanguard.
Please, if you are an editor in Vanguard, please follow this thread as we the Anambra people show you the true picture of the light situation in our state. It is not as rosy as u have painted it so let no one envy us because it is actually far worse than you think. As for the politicians taking credit for nothing, I only have this to say to YOU ALL SHOULD BE ASHAMED.
Food / Re: Man Dies After Winning Beer Drinking Competition In Spain by LadyWinona: 8:35pm On Jul 21, 2013
@onyinye Sweetie, in mallory weiss tear, there has to be hematemesis which is not indicated here. I will go with alcohol poisoning.... and dt ladies and gentleman is yet another thing to read up. Damn Medicine!!!
Okay, after reading up on the possible mechanism of death, the summary is that alcohol is an irritant to the stomach lining hence induces vomitting. It is also a Central nervous system depressant in other words it depresses areas resp for breathing and prevention of choking. This man may have pratically choked on his own vomit leading to asphyxiation and death. Since there was no mention of vomitting of blood which would have been so obvious and worth mentioning in the article, the History of presenting complaints points towards asphyxiation secondary to alcohol poisoning

Education / Re: DISTURBED MEDICAL STUDENT:MATURED MINDS ADVICE by LadyWinona: 4:52pm On Jul 12, 2013
@op I totally agree with dubemkelly. At this stage in ur life, u have to dissociate urself from the secondary school mentality of being first and focus on how best to serve ur patients and on the kind of doctor u want to be.
While it's true that being the best might have its perks, it won't give u any real satisfaction if that's all u re aiming at. Why don't u aim higher and conc on what u need to knw to be a 'good' doctor and not just the 'best' student.
I really hope that u won't be sorely disappointed in this quest cos trust me, it's not an easy feat. I do think u have the right attitude though but not the direction, so all the best
Health / Re: Resident Doctors Begin Nationwide Strike Action Today by LadyWinona: 4:56am On Jun 27, 2013
Amen. I'm preparing for exams and pray that I make it in Jesus name.
In my center, the radiology dept is not yet accredited so I wldnt advice you to come since their residents are all leaving for other centers with accreditation. I believe that it's only a matter of time before you get one urself, so have faith.
It is also my prayer that the govt really listens cos there are so many things we only get to learn in our books but never practise. It is not only embarrassing but leaves much to be desired when our patients (including us since we are only humans) get to suffer due to lack of basic training and equipment. It is indeed very sad.
Health / Re: Resident Doctors Begin Nationwide Strike Action Today by LadyWinona: 4:27am On Jun 27, 2013
My, my.... This article has given me quite an insight on several things. One of which is that eloquence and a deft skill in delivering one's point is a vital factor in getting one's message across.
Having said that, as a 2nd year resident doctor, in a teaching hospital owned by our government, I can only agree with the op. It needs to be said that our country is bereft of institutions adequate in the much needed facilities required to train a doctor of international standards. We are way behind our colleagues of the developed world that believing we are at par with them is tantamount to believing that the dead can rise again.
What I am saying in effect is that if we wait until the day we can 'raise funds' on our own for our training, like one poster suggested, then, well, we might as well be practising traditionalists cos health care cost is indeed very, very expensive with some equipment going for millions of dollars.
I do know that health care is heavily subsidized in many developed countries by their govt, a vital key factor most of their citizens can afford health care and while it will be ludacris to assume that the govt should take up 100% of the resp, which by the way is not feasible, let us all agree that we can only make a significant head way ourselves if our govt plays its role in making these things available.
Before you all come out with opposing opinions, why is it that we rely on our govt to build roads, infrastructure, and provide light to mention but a few? I mean, we need these basic things so why not get it for ourselves instead of relying on the govt all the time? I will stop there cos even I know that it doesn't make much sense. We can only do so much by paying our taxes etc and trusting the govt to reciprocate by providing the much needed amenities to its citizens which by the way includes a functional health care which is our right.
We all tend to take our health care for granted especially when we feel that we are as healthy as an ox. Unfortunately, I know for a fact that as we age, our cells get 'tired' and with that normal occurrence, diseases are given a lee way to thrive in our failing bodies. Do we really need to wait till then to agree that indeed a 'stitch in time saves nine'?
We might be on strike but please know that the emergency services are up and running and by so doing, patients are getting the appropriate care that they need. I had to attend to one myself despite been on strike cos we are cut out that way to be compassionate beings. We are only advocating that we need our govt to pay more attention to health care cos at the end of the day, THE LEAST THAT A NIGERIAN DESERVES IS THE BEST HEALTH CARE that can only be achieved if we are adequately trained with the right tools in place. You deserve no less than that.

Don't worry, I get your tym this night tongue You truly have the right to sound cynical about the show....but try to make it appear like a constructive criticism and not bad belle. The guys are ordinary. ..bla bla bla...sharapp once again!!! grin
It's a pity... Silly really. I feel like I'm talking to a child. You've got my time this night, you say? I beg to differ on that cos after this post, I will go back to teaching med students and seeing my patients who believe me need my time.
I came here to unwind after a rather difficult call and all I get is, well, you. Oh well, carry on.

To cap it all guys, this season kinda looks meh. I doubt I will be watching...too many things taking up my time. Good night

You don't have to be rude. if you have an opinion, pls say it and let others air theirs as well. You can't go about in life attacking people for airing their views just cos it goes contrary to what you believe. This is the last I'll be addressing you on this.

Decryptor: Show us ur boyfriend pic make we see im dey "Extra-ordinary". Can't u see that the Nigerian Dude is cute?

@decryptor, I am only comparing these contestants to past seasons. There is something abt the guys that are diff from the other seasons' contestants. Nothing extra ordinary is you will. No aura, or charisma, I don't knw, just something.
TV/Movies / Re: Big Brother Africa "The Chase" Official Thread by LadyWinona: 7:57pm On May 26, 2013
As I study these new housemates, I can already tell the very pretty girls/guys are probably not going to make it. They might stay the long haul to provide the much needed tv eye candy but they aint gonna win.
The too timid will leave first out of sheer frustration/intimidation leaving the raz but not too pretty guys/gals to compete for the price. Hmmmm, the chase begins.
The BB opening is kinda laid back and not too interesting, what with the not so good comedians etc Where re the dancers? Kinda disappointed at the overall presentation.

There's really something off putting abt the girls' make up. It is a bit too much, no? And has anyone noticed that the guys are just 'ordinary'? Hello, we even have a taxi driver/ partially deaf contestants. I can't say this is well thought out

The guys in ruby house are not easy on the eyes at all. What's with all the heavy make up on the girls.
I have this feeling this season will be as terrible as the last.
Yeah, where is tonto? Beverly looks quite diff from her music vids but she still looks presentable though albeit too much make up

@firsttocomment guy, thanks for making my day. That was a hilarious post and quite creative too. I do have squirrels too around but instead of inspiration, I have to live with the morbid fear I would be bitten ending up with a yet-to-be discovered illness, but I digress. Nice post
