Politics / Nigerian Security Agencies Resolve To End Rivalry by Lautechgossip(m): 10:30am On Jul 20, 2018
Nigerian security agencies have resolved to forge a common front to tackle intolerance, rivalry, bickering and violent confrontation in Lagos.

At a meeting in Lagos State Thursday, the security operatives declared that such vices had in many cases resulted in brawls and violent confrontations among officers.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the multi-agency solidarity meeting was hosted by the Nigerian army in Lagos.

It was attended by the navy, air force, police and other paramilitary high commands in Lagos State.

In his remarks, the GOC of 81 Division of the Nigerian Army, Maj.-Gen. Enobong Udoh, said the agencies came together to end incessant bickering and animosities among the operatives.

He said that the media had been awash with stories of how lower rank personnel engaged one another in physical combats, adding that the platform would change the story for a better one.

“We are declaring zero tolerance for all acts of inter-service/inter-agency rivalries, wrangling, bickering, animosities, brawls and violent confrontations.

“Especially in the short term, we may not be able to guarantee that such isolated issues will no longer arise, but if and when they do arise, we must ensure that such issues are expeditiously investigated.

“Anyone found culpable is tried and punished adequately to serve as deterrence to similar occurrences in the future,” he said.

The GOC urged all security agencies to preach brotherhood, friendship, synergy, cooperation and collaboration with one another so as to eliminate obstacles to good inter-service and inter-agency relations.

“I therefore implore all of us to hurriedly take this message of good inter- service / inter-agency synergy, cooperation and collaboration down to the very last man within our ranks and files.

“This platform is to promote inter-service synergy, cooperation and collaboration as well as give backups where necessary.”

He said they were ushering in a new era of inter-service synergy and collaboration in Lagos state.

“We are rightly and consciously bidding goodbye to all negative issues that constitute the bane of good and efficacious of inter service/agency relations in this state,” he said.

According to him, security agencies are equal stakeholders, adding that every agency was established to deliver certain mandates that ultimately border on the security of our nation.

“You will agree with me that these negativity in our relationship with each other as service and security agencies served no useful purpose other than to derail and cause us to stumble.

“We can only succeed better if we share information and intelligence with each other and even provide back up for each other, rather than trying to undermine each other,” he said.

He urged everyone to henceforth take measures that would help promote good inter service and agency relations.

Present at the meeting were Flag Officer Commanding, Western Naval Command, Rear Admiral Sylvanus Abbah; Air Officer Commanding, Logistics Command, Nigerian Airforce, AVM Nnamdi Ekeh; and Zone 2 Assistant Inspector General of Police, Mr. Adamu Ibrahim.

Top officials of the Department of State Service, FRSC, Prisons, LASTMA, LASEMA, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Coprs (NSCDC) and Fire Service were also in attendance. (NAN)

Politics / Ademola Adeleke's Certificates Scandal: WAEC, Jacksonville State University by Lautechgossip(m): 8:45am On Jul 20, 2018
Osun Group Expresses Shock Over Senator Adeleke’s Alleged Certificates Scandal

The group, in a statement signed by two of their leaders, Muftau Adegoke and Rasheed Adegbenro, and made available to newsmen in Osogbo, the Osun State capital, on Thursday, said they were taken aback by a report linking Adeleke to certificate scandals.

Two days to the primary election of the Osun State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, a social political group in the state, Renewal Youth Movement, has challenged one of the governorship aspirants, Senator Ademola Adeleke, to publicly present his certificates within 24 hours or he will be dragged to court without delay.

The group, in a statement signed by two of their leaders, Muftau Adegoke and Rasheed Adegbenro, and made available to newsmen in Osogbo, the Osun State capital, on Thursday, said they were taken aback by a report linking Adeleke to certificate scandals.

According to them, the story, tagged: “The Man Jackson ‘Nurudeen’ Adeleke,” which has been streaming on the social media in the last 12 hours, became a source of worry to them and that germane issues raised on the post must not be swept under the carpet.

The statement said: “Senator Adeleke is not a private person. He is a senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria representing Osun West Senatorial District and he is one of the 11 aspirants seeking the PDP ticket. We cannot therefore keep mute as if nothing was going on.

“The claim was that Senator Adeleke has no WAEC certificate and that he was recently held and later released by the State Security Services (SSS) in an attempt to use a pseudo person to help him write his WAEC examination at Alajue Grammar School, Ede. Is it true? Can that be the case?

“If he has WAEC certificate as he claimed, he must bring it out now. There is no shame in that. If not, why was he claiming that he possessed one?

“The detail given about the alleged criminal matter was too detailed to be ignored. We are of the firm opinion that Senator Adeleke cannot continue to be silence on these grave allegations. We also challenged security agencies in the state to speak out about this matter.

“Another thing was his claim that he studied Criminology at Jacksonville State University with official name of Jackson Ademola Adeleke. But the check at the school based in United States showed that he actually enrolled in the school n 1981 with major course ‘Law Enforcement’ and minor course ‘Political Science’ but was never awarded any certificate because he did not complete his studies.

“So, which certificate was Senator Adeleke displaying as the one obtained from Jacksonville State University? If his certificate was genuine, then, those who carried the fake news must be made to face the wrath of the law and if otherwise, the man in question has no reason to continue as the Senator not to talk of contesting the governorship election in our state.

“Our group cut across Osun State. We were part of the people that voted for him as the Senator. Therefore, we will not hesitate to drag Senator Adeleke to court except he publicly disclaim the said story and display his original certificate for all of us in the state to verify.”

The group also urged PDP leaders in the state not to hide anything about this case.

It said: “We know money may be moving around to hide facts. But this is now in the public domain. We will ensure that we unearth the truth about this matter.”

A native doctor identified as Ahmed Ifakunle, was on Tuesday arraigned before an Igbosere Magistrates” Court for allegedly obtaining N170,000 from a hotel worker to make him rich and get promoted.

36-year-old Ifakunle, 36, of Atikori, Ijebu-Igbo in Ogun State, is facing a two-count charge of conspiracy and obtaining under false pretence.

Prosecuting Sergeant Friday Mameh said the defendant committed the offence between March and April.

He said Ifakunle conspired with a suspect, who is on the run, to obtain the money from the complainant, Adeleke Shefiu.

The court heard that the incident occurred on Awolowo Road Ikoyi, Lagos.

Celebrities / Chika Ike: I Was Rejected From Birth By My Father Because He Didn’t Want A Girl by Lautechgossip(m): 11:15pm On Jul 17, 2018
Over the weekend, Chika Ike was caught again in the klieg light, not for starring in a new movie. With a throng of people, petulant to catch a glimpse of her and get a copy of her book, the young Nollywood actress has raised the bar of hard work, ingenuity and serendipity. Walking majestically into the waiting arms of the media, Chika – decked in cream jacket and a pair of pants – enthralled all with her beauty – an embellishment of her brain. Though reticent, Nigerians can read all about her in her new book, Boss Up.

“I am a very private person but if you read this book, ‘Boss Up’ you read me, the truth and my journey. Boss Up is a 41-chapter book that covers all the obstacles we go through in life: money, self-esteem, fear, relationships. With Boss Up, I opened up a lot about myself. I dabbled into what we go through in life and gave a guide on how to conquer our fears. People say I try to live my best life. Yes, I try to because life is short,” she says.

But to her, life is more than being short.

“Life is a journey and is full of ups and downs. I am talking from an angle of my mother who died at a very young age and I realise that life is a journey and as a being you can’t determine how long you are going to live because you don’t even know what happens tomorrow. So you have to embrace today and make the best out of it,” she counsels.

The book, Boss Up, has five sections: one talks about Chikaidibia – her full name – which means ‘my God is greater than any soothsayers or any obstacles’. According to her, the name came up out of an event “during my birth”.

She explains further:

“I was rejected from birth by my father because he didn’t want a girl. So, it (that section) talks about me, my challenges growing up and the rejection I faced from my family. The book also talks about the business world because people think I like money. Well, they may be right because I grew up with nothing and don’t want to be a failure and I always push myself to succeed. I want to challenge myself to be somebody people thought I can never be.

“In the business world (section), I talk about how to have a successful business. I went to Harvard Business School. Harvard Business School was a launch pad for me because I found myself in a room with professionals – big people who run global businesses – sitting among business tycoons. I talked about tricks and how to run a successful business.”

Chika also underscores the importance of the society in human’s existence. To run a successful business empire goes beyond huge money and Chika explains why.

“When I was in Harvard Business School, the first two weeks was about personal case studies and personal development. I was given a coach and I was like I didn’t come here to talk about my family and my life. But the school authority realizes that before you can be successful in your business you must deal with the home front first. Every successful man and woman you see out there has succeeded in their families. They gave me a personal coach who went deep into my personal life: my family, my upbringing and me. I was someone who was brought up guided but Harvard Business School unguided me. They made me stand in front of over 200 professionals to talk about my life. I spoke so much about my life, family and how I was rejected by my father who was a good husband and father to all his children. But I didn’t have a good relationship with him growing up. I learnt early that you have to fight for yourself because at the end of the day it is you alone. I talked about my father, my mother and my siblings.”

Still throwing more light on what her readers should expect, she talks about another factor pertinent to success.

“I mentioned grace because I believe that we do not exist alone on this earth. I believe that there is a superior power you can go to and ask for forgiveness because human beings can be very judgmental because they see everything that you do but God is the only one that cannot criticize you and will protect you in all your ways. So I have this relationship with Him. A friend of mine once told me that to succeed in life you need 40 per cent hard work and 60 per cent grace, favour and lucky. For me, I call it favour, I call it grace. It is good to work hard to succeed but you must have a guiding power which is God,” the author states.

Politics / Fayose Meets Ewi Of Ado Over Harassment, Withdrawal Of Security by Lautechgossip(m): 8:53pm On Jul 17, 2018
The Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose, on Tuesday made his first public appearance since his party, the Peoples Democratic Party, lost the Saturday’s governorship election.

Fayose, who went to the palace of the Ewi of Ado-Ekiti, Oba Rufus Adejugbe, the Aladesanmi III, was mobbed by the people in areas such as Okesa, Oja Bisi, Oja oba, Irona and Oke Oriomi.

At the palace of the Ewi, the governor said it was unfortunate that he and his supporters were still being hounded after the election had come and gone.

He said, “I have come to officially tell you, sir, as the Paramount Ruler of Ado-Ekiti, the state capital, that the Government House was invaded by the police. As we speak, over 300 innocent people are in detention. Since the day of the election, I have not been able to come out. My security aides have been withdrawn, continuously I have been harassed. It is dark hours in our history.

“After the poll on Saturday, my wife was prevented from entering the Government House for about 45 minutes. Since last Wednesday, security agents had laid siege to the Government House, and were subjecting people to untold hardship coming in or going out.

“The poll has come and gone irrespective of what we went through. The constitution says I am still the governor till October 16 this year. Our state radio and television stations have been shut down. And there has been no means of getting across to our people.

“It was only this morning that security agents at the entrance of the Government House were withdrawn. If we have been robbed, I still have a right to life and my family has a right to life too.”

Fayose lamented that his security aides had not been restored while the governor-elect, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, had a retinue of security aides around him.

“The man that won has three units of the police protecting him. All my security men have been withdrawn since last Wednesday. I am only left with just a few.

“Harassing me is not in the interest of democracy. People must intervene before things go out of hand. I don’t know why we should be in this situation in 2018,” he said.

Oba Adejugbe, in his reply, thanked God that nobody died during the poll.

“As if we knew, monarchs arranged many meetings before the election and pleaded with everybody that before, during and after the poll, we don’t want any trouble. We said then that whoever wins, there should be no problem. The way I see you, I know something is happening. You rarely wear this type of dress in the palace.

“I will convey your message to the Oloye of Oye-Ekiti, who is the Chairman of the Ekiti State Council of Traditional Rulers and we spoke this morning and we were worried about your whereabouts.”

Oba Adejugbe appealed to security agencies to restore the governor’s security aides.

“As Ekiti leaders, we will intervene. You, Fayemi and Eleka (Prof. Kolapo Olusola) are our sons. Peace must be allowed to reign. We need peace in our state,” he said.

On the recent episode of African Voices, CNN meets actor Hakeem Kae-Kazim who has returned to his roots to help teach aspiring thespians. Kae-Kazim discusses the future of ‘Nollywood’ and why he feels passionate about celebrating African storytelling.

Kae-Kazim explains to the programme how his acting career began:

“My interest [in the theatre] happened from an early age, at 15 or something like that. I trained as an actor, went to the [Bristol Old Vic] Theatre School and then did the Royal Shakespeare Company in the United Kingdom, then the National Theatre… I did some amazing plays with some amazing people. I just walked my way though, doing amazing projects.”

Known best for his powerful portrayal of a Hutu warlord in the critically acclaimed film Hotel Rwanda and for his role in Pirates of the Caribbean, Kae-Kazim is now returning to his home country to help teach young actors. He explains to the programme how this opportunity came about:

“A director had come over to LA from Nigeria, had seen me work in 24, and said, ‘No one knows you’re Nigerian, you should come back, there are people who would love to see you. They’ll be surprised that you are Nigerian.’ So off the back of that I thought, you know, what a good idea. Let me go back and see what’s going on.”

Kae-Kazim outlines why he wants to share his knowledge:

“I’ve come back to do some training with actors and people in production so that we can get to an understanding of the discipline really required to produce a top-notch film or television production.”

Sharing his skills hasn’t been the only thing he’s been busy doing since returning to Nigeria, he’s also been spending some time in front of the camera, making his ‘Nollywood’ debut in 2010:

“The very first thing I did was a musical film called Inale. I then did a little film called Last Flight to Abuja and that was a really lovely little piece about the airline industry.”

Kae-Kazim describes why he feels passionate about supporting the film industry in Nigeria:

“I am very proud of ‘Nollywood’, in terms of what the people have done. They’ve put Nigeria on the map and they’ve done this without any support of any kind and I think they must be acknowledged. I think what has to happen now is that the industry has to expand, it has to get bigger and better. It’s really about upping the technical anti of the film [and] being able to tell stories that are very true to the African voice.”

Kae-Kazim tells the programme that in order for this to happen, more needs to be done to support the industry:

“No one is going to come and shoot there when the lights go off or when you need generators which are going to destroy your sound. That again is a lack of incentive to help build an industry which could be doing tremendous stuff for Nigeria.”

On why ‘Nollywood’ must continue to produce films and its’ potential to compete with the content being produced by the best in the industry, Kae-Kazim states:

“We have to start to tell these stories for ourselves, to me, that’s the most important thing. You know, I’m coming back from Hollywood, not to come and say, ‘Let’s bring Hollywood here’, but to really make ‘Nollywood’, Hollywood. To inspire the fact that we should be the stewards of our own stories. We have a myriad of different stories that we can tell that are all uniquely Nigerian on one level and uniquely African on another level.”

Kae-Kazim explains that part of supporting the industry would be to make cinemas more accessible in Nigeria:

“I think building more cinemas in and around Nigeria would certainly help… I would love to see more cinemas going up in places like Ajegunle and Surelere with affordable prices.”

He describes what he hopes to see from ‘Nollywood’ in the future:

“I want to see Nigeria as the hub of African filmmaking, not just concentrating on Nigerian films, but on films that tell you about the African voice from the African perspective.”

Kae-Kazim offers some advice for aspiring actors:

“Just keep loving what you do, but it’s really [down to] working hard, trying to improve not only yourself as an actor but the state of the industry. That also means [improving] the day to day discipline and making sure one is on time and focused when one is at work.”

Celebrities / Chiamaka: I’ll Quit Acting If My Husband Is Rich Enough To Take Care Of Me by Lautechgossip(m): 6:33am On Jul 09, 2018
Nollywood actress, Chiamaka Nwokeukwu has established herself in the industry as an actress of note, with great roles to her credit. But the fair-skinned beauty has achieved this success at a price, as she had to dump the boy she was dating at the time to pursue her dream because the boy was too jealous to stomach her foray into the make-believe world. “Yes, I dumped him for Nollywood because he didn’t want me to be a star.

He didn’t want me to follow up my career and he had not proposed to me. The guy can leave me tomorrow and now that I have the opportunity, I need to follow up. God blessed everybody with talent. It’s not easy to have talent, most people cannot act and when you have the zeal and you can do something, you have to use it well.

It’s normal for a boy and girl to meet and if you really love your girl, you would let her go into what she wants. When I get married, automatically if my husband says he doesn’t want me to act again, I will not act again as long as he’s taking care of me,” she quipped in a chat with Potpourri.

“He was telling me that he didn’t want me to act, that I’m a very nice person, I’m humble, that when I go into the industry, I’ll meet big people and I’ll become wild and be doing different things. I was like, I know myself, naturally I’m humble. I come from a very humble home, we don’t have any bad scandal so if you want to be bad you’ll be bad, if you want to be good it’s inbuilt.

I explained everything to him, I was like, let me do this thing, let me just do it. If you see that I’m going astray, I’ll stop. He didn’t want me to even start. Immediately I went for my first shoot, he said I didn’t like him any more but I told I still liked him very much but he didn’t believe me and the only sane thing I could do is to walk away,” she said.

Crime / Falana Files N200m Suit Against DSS For Journalist’s 2-year-old Detention by Lautechgossip(m): 5:44am On Jul 05, 2018
HUMAN rights lawyer, Mr. Femi Falana (SAN), has filed a fundamental human rights enforcement suit before the Federal High Court in Abuja on behalf of a journalist, Jones Abiri, who has been held in the custody of the Department of State Security for about two years without charge.

The court papers obtained on Wednesday showed that the suit filed on Tuesday, sought among other prayers an order directing the DSS to pay to the journalist the sum of N200m in damages for the illegal violation of his fundamental rights.

The suit prayed for a declaration that the detention of the journalist in Abuja without access to his family members, friends and medical doctors since his arrest on July 21, 2016 “is illegal and unconstitutional”.

Falana argued that the detention “violates” the applicant’s fundamental rights” including, rights to personal liberty, dignity of person, fair hearing, health and association, as well as freedom of association.

He also contended that Abiri’s rights which were violated by the DSS were guaranteed by sections 34, 35 and 40 of the Constitution as well as Articles 11 and 16 of the African Charter on Human and Peoples’ Rights (Ratification and Enforcement) Act.

Politics / Ondo To Become Africa’s Technology Innovative Destination – Governor Akeredolu by Lautechgossip(m): 9:46pm On Jul 02, 2018
Ondo State governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN, has reiterated his administration’s commitment to make the state a technology and innovation destination of choice for Africa and the world at large.

Akeredolu who noted that information and Communication Technology (ICT) is the language of the present age, assured the people of the state that his administration is determined to tap into the vast benefits of the ICT to empower youths.

The governor spoke on Monday during the commissioning of Akure Tech-Up at the Federal University of Technology, Akure, FUTA.

The Akure Tech-Up is a tripartite collaboration between the Ondo State government, FUTA and Tech-Up, a Non-governmental Organisation (NGO).

The Tech-Up was set up to create an avenue for the promotion of technologies and for the exchange of ideas of business start-ups and development for youths.

Governor Akeredolu commended the contributions of a philantrophist and businessman, Chief Rotimi Ibidapo, to the successful completion of the Tech-Up building at FUTA Biological Garden.

He said: “History has it that many IT giants who rose from Ondo State are making great impacts in ICT world. For instance, Philip Emegwali, born in Akure in 1954 had made great contributions to the development of the internet.

“Many of the students at FUTA both former and present are making great impacts in ICT. All these are indications that we have the potential and the technology here with us that are needed to be developed.

“Besides, Tech-Up FUTA is the first of its kind in the South Western part of Nigeria and it is my belief that it will spur a revolution in technology products and service delivery with its core focus to give the general community a facility where they can bring their ideas to life.”

Politics / Ekiti 2018: Fayose Confused, Frustrated, Desperate – Adeyeye by Lautechgossip(m): 10:05am On Jul 02, 2018
A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Prince Dayo Adeyeye, has described the Ekiti State Governor, Mr. Ayodele Fayose as a frustrated and desperate man.

Prince Adeyeye, who was a former Minister of State for Works, in a press statement on Sunday in Ado Ekiti, the state capital, by Mr Niyi Ojo, the Director of Press of his campaign organization, said recent actions of Governor Fayose had pointed to the fact that he was not his normal self and that many recent political losses he was experiencing had turned him into a desperate man.

The statement claimed that ”Fayose is confused, desperate, frustrated and desperate at the moment. His recent actions shows that he is not his usual confident and braggart self.

”He recently promoted 46,000 workers in one clear swoop, in order to entice the workers in the state to vote for his anointed candidate.

”He is not even making any attempt to cover up his tracks. He did not even bother to dress it up, from the political gimmick that it is. The act was purely an election gimmick, and he is not even bothered about people knowing that it was a political charade.

”Everybody knew it was a political gimmick, it shows his level of desperation. These are workers he has not paid for eight months now and he has been going round to collect and clone their PVCs in the Government House.”

The former PDP chieftain also alleged that the Governor has been going round schools in the state, dishing out the sum of N1.5 million Naira and bowls of rice per school, to teachers, he has not paid for eight months.

”These are schools without roads and other necessary facilities. He has neglected these schools and their environments, since he became Governor of the state. All of a sudden, he is so concerned about them and the welfare of the teachers.

”He recently announced that he was creating 2000 jobs, just four weeks before he leaves office. The forms for the non-existent jobs, only have space for the PVC numbers of the applicants and no column for their Education qualifications or the kind of job available or desired

”He has not and cannot do local government campaigns because he has nothing to point out to, as his achievements in those areas.

”So, he has been harassing teachers and workers and cajoling them at the same time. However we have good news for the workers and teachers, that no matter what he says or does now, he is just deceiving them.

”It is good that a lot of them have decided to call his bluff and vote according to their conscience for Dr. Kayode Fayemi on July 14. The incoming Governor of the state, has assured the workers or teachers, who are been harassed daily by Fayose that, he will reinstate anyone of them that is sacked or sanction because of their refusal to give in to his lies,” Adeyeye claimed.

Politics / Lies Won’t Save You From Defeat – Fayemi Tells Fayose by Lautechgossip(m): 6:58am On Jul 02, 2018
The Kayode Fayemi Campaign Organisation has accused Governor Ayodele Fayose of spreading “irresponsible lies”, saying that lies will not save the governor and his candidate, Prof Olusola Eleka, from defeat in the July 14 governorship poll.

Fayose had at the weekend on the state radio accused the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate, Dr Kayode Fayemi, of planning to compromise INEC in the July 14 poll, saying also that Fayemi planned to ban okada operations and sack workers through competency tests if he wins the governorship election.

But reacting on Sunday, Director of Media and Publicity of the Kayode Fayemi Campaign Organisation, Wole Olujobi, said Fayose’s lies will not save him from defeat, as “Ekiti people were done with a fraudulent and callous administration that manipulates the people always for selfish motives”.

He said: “Fayose is haunted by his past when he criminally manipulated INEC to win 2014 election as revealed in Captain Sagir Koli audio tape where Fayose himself was heard talking about how he collected INEC sensitive materials he said he printing, including talking about how the results of the election of June 21 was collated in Efon-Alaaye on June 19, two days before the election and as was corroborated by PDP State Secretary, Tope Aluko, in his testimony to the security agencies.

“Fayemi never plans to sack okada operators as he always insists, instead, he will strengthen their operations like he once did when he bought over 150 motorcycles and helmets for Okada Association Cooperative Society to improve their living conditions.

“Instead of sacking workers, Fayemi during his campaign visits in the last two weeks always insisted that he will never sack workers, instead, he will develop a policy that will encourage job creation as one of the cardinal programmes of his Eight-point Agenda.”

Olujobi berated Fayose for always employing lies to achieve the “ignoble objective of robbing Ekiti people all the time and at all times”.

Describing the governor as a man in need of salvation from leading a life of lies, Fayemi’s spokesman explained: “The only thing that Nigerians and indeed peoples of the world must believe in Fayose is when they see him breathing, which is the evidence that he is still living; everything else is fake and lies.

“Fayose’s show of shame as a pathological liar at the Ado Ekiti High Court hearing of a libel suit he filed against Femi Falana (SAN) and TheNews magazine in 2006 over alleged defamation of character typifies the life of lies he leads.

“In the open court during cross-examination, Fayose recklessly lied and lied so much that the presiding Judge, Justice Ayodeji Daramola, who is now the Chief Judge of the state, and all the counsel in the court, including Fayose’s lawyers, were watching and shaking their heads in disbelief as Fayose lied and lied so much that he was also contradicting himself.

“During judgement, Justice Daramola told Fayose that he was an incorrigible liar, as he was found to be lying throughout the cross-examination, and consequently, the judge dismissed the case, telling Fayose that he had no integrity to protect.

“Fayose, about 60 years old and grandfather, lied for more than a year denying that he ever collected N2b Ecological Fund and monthly N1.3b Budget Support Facility for 13 months.

“In the case of the N2b ecological fund, Fayose never owned up collecting the money until he got information that APC planned to approach the Ecological Fund office in Abuja for confirmation.

“The same week he owned up, he announced Ecological project contract totalling exactly N2b, even though up till now, there is no evidence of ecological project anywhere in the state, as floods ravaged the state early in April.

“As for the budget support fund he collected to pay workers salary, for long, Fayose denied collecting the facility until the Federal Government published the figures, the same way he denied borrowing one naira until DMO published the states’ debts showing that Fayose had borrowed N56b between 2014 and 2018.

“Unfortunately, this is the man Ekiti people are doomed to have as their governor and who Nigerians and other peoples of the world read in the news as leading Ekiti people renowned for integrity, learning and honour.”

Describing Fayose as the Pharaoh in the life of Ekiti people, Olujobi said Ekiti people were set to return from Egypt, “and there is no amount of lies that will make them vote for Prof Olusola Eleka who the governor is propping to sustain his continuity agenda for mass poverty while Fayose and his family enjoy the life of bliss”.
