Leave dat side, Oga. sad Lagos has far more commercial enterprises, construction outfits, hotels, cafeterias, telecom offices, hospitals, chamber of commerce, seaports, private fuel depots, private universities, private schools etc than Abuja. Even when embassies moved to Abuja, a number of them left their consular offices in Lagos. Do you know how many large markets exist in Lagos state? Over 21 markets, from Ebute-Ero, to Oyingbo, Alaba International, Balogun market, Mushin market, Oshodi, Ladipo Auto spare parts market, Epe fish market etc.

Chances of you finding a product or service, is far higher in Lagos than Abuja. undecided How many banks exist in Abuja? They are all branches of existing banks, and the biggest branch cannot employ more than 10-12 people, compared with head office of such a bank that will have 80-120 people on ground, within its HQ premises. Abeg, make we leave matter for Matthias.

The above shouldn't surprise anybody given the population size of Lagos and it's former capital city and present commercial city status. The amount in Abuja makes sense as a reflection of its population.
Abuja has what it needs and is growing at a steady rate. They are not trying to clog up Abuja so that it ends up resembling Lagos. The only thing Abuja needs to learn from Lagos is the social side and this too is growing although slowly, I admit.

Even with all you've said, none of it will make me prefer Lagos, none.

There is a harmony with nature that needs to be kept balanced mind you.

I actually like as you elucidated your points but take note sha that jobs are fewer in Abuja than Lagos, Bro. that's the reality!

It would be fewer, Lagos is a city of 20 million people and counting.
Still so many unemployed in both cities, that's also the reality.

I'm female by the way.

What jobs are there in Abuja aside government and so called uniform jobs which they all have to warm a politician bed to secure. More than 70% of ladies especially singles are call girls.. They won't tell you this.
Economic survival in Abuja is harder.. No reasonable money bringing hustles unlike Lagos here and that's why starting off life is difficult more for men in Abuja but very easy for flirty woman of cheap virtues who can sleep with all money bags

I really don't get why people say the above.

There are many types of jobs in Abuja not just politics. Do establishments not have employees? Do the embassies, hotels, restaurants, real estate/ construction company's not have employees and owners? What about the markets, the banks? What about catering? The only Lagos specific jobs are those that are in some head quarters because they are located there, the wharfs and businesses to do with the ports. All other businesses are in both Lagos and Abuja so have people both owning and employed there.

We all know ashawos exist in both Lagos and Abuja.

There are major negatives that impact the lives of Lagosians negatively that just don't exist in Abj like the daily 'agbero toll' heaped on the heads of the poor, the frustrating traffic that affects both rich and poor. The noise pollution and general bad air quality. Let alone the aggressive and oppressive nature of Lagos and many of its people.

The main complaint Lagosions have about Abj is so called boredom or calmness. Never the aspects above that I pointed out about Lagos.

I have live in Lagos and Abj. Let me say, it will take Abj more 10 yrs to develop like lagos

If it would only take ten years for Abuja to 'develop like Lagos' that's saying something for Abuja because Lagos was the capital for how long and has and is still the commercial capital of Nigeria.

A city is not just about roads. It is also about the availability of sporting facilities to cater for the physical well-being of the people.

These are some stadia in Lagos and a well functioning too duty

Abuja is an 'outdoorsy' type of place. Parks are everywhere where people, rich and poor can relax, relate and recharge. Parks are also free to all. Let alone Jabi Lake fitness every Saturday where people come and do keep fit, afrobeats aerobics (with full on DJ's), yoga, Pilates, outdoor table tennis, rollerblading, biking and jogging.

It's one of the things that made me fall in love with Abuja. It is accessible to all.

Sorry we dont use buses in Abuja. Only taxis. Sienna maybe accepted only on inter states like Nassarawa and Suleja. So no need for bus stations full of criminals and agberos. Its a pity you make boast with bus stations. Smh

It's not plural, it's just one. The experience on the roads however, will be the same old Lagos gra-gra.

This is how our bus stations look like in Lagos. Show me equivalent in Abuja

Lol My dear, it's just one bus station in Lagos that looks like that and it's just recently opened.

Nice as the station is, Abuja doesn't need a bus station that looks like that and if it wants one they can build it. People tend to use taxis rather than buses for transportation in Abuja in any case. In fact people are using trains in Abuja too.

100 % agreed if you want a general level of sanity it has to be Abj over Lagos. it's a place I avoid when going to Nigeria ever since direct flights were introduced. Even then I would only spend 24 hours in Lagos.
I do want to visit next time but just for a weekend because I know Lagos has some new developments and to see some family.

I've met Lagosians that were in Abj just to get some relief from Lagos for a few days.

Lots of them do too but we would always just bear it because we bend for them all the time. It's how we're programmed. If a White person smelled offensively or became rude on a plane we are highly unlikely to eject them from a plane, let alone with their 'precious and innocent' White children.

That's the way of the world.

BO works the same no matter the nationality. There is someone from every African country that has smelled BO on their fellow country man or woman, or even were the source of the smell lol.

It's just fact.

Sweat+bacteria= body odour

Although diet and hormones can also play a part.

I don't believe she was kicked off for smelling. Smelling could have been brought up in the initial complaint. But trust an insulted Naija women, she probably cursed their generations and the flight attendants decided to let her cool off on terra firma. That would have being why she had to tell them her kids were still on the plane when told she could not return to the plane. The official reason for ejection would likely be "being disruptive" or "causing a disturbance" or "being out of control in midair."

Sounds about right.

Fresh lime or lemon juice applied to the armpit or any smelly area kills the bacteria and smell. If anyone does this just before or during showering or mixed in with shower gel freshly, there is no way they would stink unless it's from their clothes.

It neutralises the odour ( feet, armpit or anywhere else) just with a small amount of juice.

Some people that can't afford deodorant use lime instead.

It may even have been moth balls. The smell is indeed pungent. It's embarrassing that she was kicked off for smelling.

@ the tribalists she is a frequent flyer and was not kicked off before, so the issue is not that she is Igbo. She was Igbo every other time she flew.

Stop being silly. We have all smelled some Nigerians and often the smell can be offensive. I don't know if it's the stockfish/ crayfish they cook which gets into the clothes and through the pores or the refusal of many to wear deodorant.

If they are against deodorant ( if B.O was the smell) then fresh lime goes a long way as does making sure your clothes, body and hair are clean.

It's not just Nigerians though lol.

Thank you. Lagos is for suffering. They spend half the day in traffic and go drink and eat on weekends and call it enjoyment. No parks to even relax. No place for children. No nice golf courses or beaches. Meanwhile in Berlin you see people trooping out this time of the year to enjoy the sun the parks and city centers.
I'm feeling sick already. embarassed

Try Abuja then. Plenty of relaxation spots and you can be outdoorsy there too. I think there is a new go karting place, trampolining and amusement centre for kids somewhere in Lagos though.I think they are quite recently opened.

As for me, it's Abuja over Lagos every time. Green, beautiful, quiet and relaxing.

You are trying too hard just for this empty nonsense. Go over you comment and hear yourself as if you just have to type something even when it makes no sense to you.

What equality are you talking about? We already have fair equality between male and female, you are just confused about what you want. Only you know what your emotion is but don't quote me and then point elsewhere if you don't want a piece of it, take your feminist garbage you know nothing about away from me.

Maybe you should step away from your emotions, then you will see more clearly.
To claim there is equality between the sexes is a stretch. It's better than 100 years ago yes, but there is still work to be done in attitudes toward females ( even babies) if we are really interested in increased equality.

Carrying out 'duties'? Everybody in a home has duties towards the home. It's ever changing and in the domain of those creating the household. I agree with your assertion in principal.

Until you are able to take the role of equality and actually walk it, and not just want to sound smart, you are not just under a man, you are even lower and beneath all of us.

Where is your outrage on all the babies girl killed and dumped daily? The people speaking against infanticide are men and women who love all God's creatures. Why not talk about these instead of targeting homes to destroy. Feminist groups are responsible for most of the problems facing women today, just to keep their regular supplies of human parts and sole right over pregnancies and abort them at will.

You are either ignorant or just plain silly to want to spread your bottomless urge to destroy homes. You have 7 ribs while they have 9 for a reason. And what happens next, teach your children the 17 different genders of humans according to your feminist handbook, and confused them further? You have a deep psychological problem you need to attend to and jumping on the feminist propaganda bandwagon isn't going to get you any relief. Go and educate yourself on the agendas of the founders of feminist/sexism and stop following your fellow weaker vessel like sheep.

Again, the man is the head and I'm proud to be neck that supports it, the leading lady at that.

At least talk sense when you are speaking to me. Even a neck that is full of emotion will turn the head the wrong way.

I believe in equality for men and women, it's fine if you don't but you are doing both genders a disservice. Direct your tirade to a feminist group then, not to me my dear.

Nigerian accents also depend on education and class. It's the same everywhere even the native English people. Many don't pronounce words properly due to their level of education, the pace at which they speak and where they are from in England sometimes.
Although, I much prefer the middle English accent over the 'upper class's accent.

I like the educated northern Nigerian accent in both Hausa and English generally, but also the vice president also has a nice accent when he speaks English. I've heard lots of people, especially Americans, say they like the Nigerian accent. It just sounds 'exotic' to them.

What tops it all for me is when a Nigerian speaks pidgin though. Sounds so nice.

Chances are the Aba woman also led at home to some extent. Even women culturally were made way for when the men could not fix an issue. They were trusted to lead and it did not make the men feel emasculated. Even in culture.

Why aren't you writing about it or better yet speaking to your fellow men in Kogi state and any other state the men seem to like to butcher people?

Nigerian males tend to lead the country the wrong way all the time. With leadership comes RESPONSIBILITY and too many seem not up to the task.
