laudate: The above shouldn't surprise anybody given the population size of Lagos and it's former capital city and present commercial city status. The amount in Abuja makes sense as a reflection of its population. Abuja has what it needs and is growing at a steady rate. They are not trying to clog up Abuja so that it ends up resembling Lagos. The only thing Abuja needs to learn from Lagos is the social side and this too is growing although slowly, I admit. Even with all you've said, none of it will make me prefer Lagos, none. There is a harmony with nature that needs to be kept balanced mind you. 1 Like |

Mac2016: I really don't get why people say the above. There are many types of jobs in Abuja not just politics. Do establishments not have employees? Do the embassies, hotels, restaurants, real estate/ construction company's not have employees and owners? What about the markets, the banks? What about catering? The only Lagos specific jobs are those that are in some head quarters because they are located there, the wharfs and businesses to do with the ports. All other businesses are in both Lagos and Abuja so have people both owning and employed there. We all know ashawos exist in both Lagos and Abuja. There are major negatives that impact the lives of Lagosians negatively that just don't exist in Abj like the daily 'agbero toll' heaped on the heads of the poor, the frustrating traffic that affects both rich and poor. The noise pollution and general bad air quality. Let alone the aggressive and oppressive nature of Lagos and many of its people. The main complaint Lagosions have about Abj is so called boredom or calmness. Never the aspects above that I pointed out about Lagos. 4 Likes |

marvis13: If it would only take ten years for Abuja to 'develop like Lagos' that's saying something for Abuja because Lagos was the capital for how long and has and is still the commercial capital of Nigeria. 2 Likes |

MiddleDimension: Abuja is an 'outdoorsy' type of place. Parks are everywhere where people, rich and poor can relax, relate and recharge. Parks are also free to all. Let alone Jabi Lake fitness every Saturday where people come and do keep fit, afrobeats aerobics (with full on DJ's), yoga, Pilates, outdoor table tennis, rollerblading, biking and jogging. It's one of the things that made me fall in love with Abuja. It is accessible to all. 2 Likes |

MiddleDimension: Lol My dear, it's just one bus station in Lagos that looks like that and it's just recently opened. Nice as the station is, Abuja doesn't need a bus station that looks like that and if it wants one they can build it. People tend to use taxis rather than buses for transportation in Abuja in any case. In fact people are using trains in Abuja too. 6 Likes |

100 % agreed if you want a general level of sanity it has to be Abj over Lagos. it's a place I avoid when going to Nigeria ever since direct flights were introduced. Even then I would only spend 24 hours in Lagos. I do want to visit next time but just for a weekend because I know Lagos has some new developments and to see some family. I've met Lagosians that were in Abj just to get some relief from Lagos for a few days. 6 Likes 2 Shares |

There is a problem with codeine abuse in Nigeria and tramodole abuse in Ghana. Majid is referring to the problem in Ghana which is just as bad as the one in Nigeria. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OIo27SZbweU 1 Like 1 Share |

Azam101: Lots of them do too but we would always just bear it because we bend for them all the time. It's how we're programmed. If a White person smelled offensively or became rude on a plane we are highly unlikely to eject them from a plane, let alone with their 'precious and innocent' White children. That's the way of the world. 2 Likes |

SPOPOVICH: BO works the same no matter the nationality. There is someone from every African country that has smelled BO on their fellow country man or woman, or even were the source of the smell lol. It's just fact. Sweat+bacteria= body odour Although diet and hormones can also play a part. 1 Like |

isalegan2: Fresh lime or lemon juice applied to the armpit or any smelly area kills the bacteria and smell. If anyone does this just before or during showering or mixed in with shower gel freshly, there is no way they would stink unless it's from their clothes. It neutralises the odour ( feet, armpit or anywhere else) just with a small amount of juice. Some people that can't afford deodorant use lime instead. 3 Likes 1 Share |

It may even have been moth balls. The smell is indeed pungent. It's embarrassing that she was kicked off for smelling. @ the tribalists she is a frequent flyer and was not kicked off before, so the issue is not that she is Igbo. She was Igbo every other time she flew. Stop being silly. We have all smelled some Nigerians and often the smell can be offensive. I don't know if it's the stockfish/ crayfish they cook which gets into the clothes and through the pores or the refusal of many to wear deodorant. If they are against deodorant ( if B.O was the smell) then fresh lime goes a long way as does making sure your clothes, body and hair are clean. It's not just Nigerians though lol. 1 Like |

BedLam: Try Abuja then. Plenty of relaxation spots and you can be outdoorsy there too. I think there is a new go karting place, trampolining and amusement centre for kids somewhere in Lagos though.I think they are quite recently opened. As for me, it's Abuja over Lagos every time. Green, beautiful, quiet and relaxing. 2 Likes |

Truthcat: Maybe you should step away from your emotions, then you will see more clearly. To claim there is equality between the sexes is a stretch. It's better than 100 years ago yes, but there is still work to be done in attitudes toward females ( even babies) if we are really interested in increased equality. 1 Like |

I believe in equality for men and women, it's fine if you don't but you are doing both genders a disservice. Direct your tirade to a feminist group then, not to me my dear. 1 Like |
Travel / Re: To Non-Nigerians; Is The "Nigerian Accent" appealing? by londoner: 11:09pm On May 08, 2018 |
Nigerian accents also depend on education and class. It's the same everywhere even the native English people. Many don't pronounce words properly due to their level of education, the pace at which they speak and where they are from in England sometimes. Although, I much prefer the middle English accent over the 'upper class's accent. I like the educated northern Nigerian accent in both Hausa and English generally, but also the vice president also has a nice accent when he speaks English. I've heard lots of people, especially Americans, say they like the Nigerian accent. It just sounds 'exotic' to them. What tops it all for me is when a Nigerian speaks pidgin though. Sounds so nice. 4 Likes |

felaismyhero: Chances are the Aba woman also led at home to some extent. Even women culturally were made way for when the men could not fix an issue. They were trusted to lead and it did not make the men feel emasculated. Even in culture. 1 Like |

buchasman: Why aren't you writing about it or better yet speaking to your fellow men in Kogi state and any other state the men seem to like to butcher people? Nigerian males tend to lead the country the wrong way all the time. With leadership comes RESPONSIBILITY and too many seem not up to the task. 1 Like |
