dainformant: Amb Dion Osagie, a Nigerian entrepreneur and humanitarian activist who is based in the United States has reacted to the postponement of the governorship elections in Edo state. The Independent National Electoral Commission agreed to shift the Edo State governorship election by two weeks. The election had earlier been scheduled for Saturday September 10, 2016.
The Edo state indigene (Amb Dion Osagie) who has always lambasted politicians for their policies -took to his Facebook page to post the below;
I decided to eat ISIEWU and cold Heineken for lunch when I heard Edo election has been postponed base on matter on ground. I think this will be an advantage to the PDP! I have said it before and over and over again. They don't really care about us!!
Let me finish my Isiewu before they postpone it. Like they postpone Edo election without considering people who have already made plans to come home to vote.
It is a shame that INEC Nigeria can not do the needful with all the time had for planning. What a shameless leaders and citizens who continue to let them have their way. Letting them treat us the way they want. Let's stop being a fool because power belong to the people.

Taeewo: Minister of Finance, Mrs. Kemi Adeosun Oyetunji Abioye with agency report
The Federal Government has approved plans for external loans from the World Bank, China and Japan.
It specifically said Nigeria would take loans from institutions such as the World Bank, African Development Bank, Japan International Cooperation Agency, and Export-Import Bank of China, Bloomberg reported on Thursday.
This will include low-cost and long-term loans with interest rates of 1.25 per cent and maturity of 20 years, according to comments posted on its Twitter.
The Federal Government said that details of a proposed Eurobond due later this year would be announced “in due course.”
According to the Presidency, the government is now waiting for lawmakers to approve the plans.
President Muhammadu Buhari had announced a N6.1tn ($19.4bn) spending plan aimed at stimulating the economy this year. The economy contracted in the first two quarters as oil revenue plunged.
Buhari said he expected the Federal Government to raise about $5bn from the Eurobond market and multilateral and bilateral lenders.
The Debt Management Office had last month asked banks to place bids by September 19 if they wished to manage a $1bn Eurobond sale.
The Minister of Finance, Mrs. Kemi Adeosun, told bond investors in London in June that Nigeria was close to securing about $3bn of funding from the World Bank and African Development Bank.
Nigeria had issued dollar bonds twice, the last time in 2013. Yields on its $500m of securities due in July 2023 fell 11 basis points to 6.24 per cent, their lowest level since June 2015 and down more than 300 basis points since hitting a record 9.4 per cent on January 18, Bloomberg reported.

ujuvals: I really want to scream but ofcourse everyone seems to be in the same situation,who will console the other.The economic situation of Nigeria at the moment is really pitiable.We as the citizens have been holding on and managing,praying it gets better but it only seem to get worse.I am writing because I have come to realize that some sectors are abusing this untold hardship in the country and using it as an avenue to greatly enrich themselves.In as much as we understand that there are no jobs in Nigeria,many unemployed yet qualified graduates are roaming the street,the few ones working now are been taken for granted,used and given peanuts at the end of the day with reason been that the company cannot afford a good pay due to the economic situation.I am trying to understand how this fits in to some people.There are companies that are making massive profits despite this economic recession yet they are still slashing salaries,I can't help but to ask where does the profit realised at the end of the day go to?A typical example is Zenith bank which we read slashed workers salaries,to be realistic if a bank as big as zenith can slash despite its massive profit margin wat will the other small companies that barely make enough pay their staffers.I want to share an experience I had few days ago,I went for an interview and after that,I was called to say I did averagely ok but they would want me to work in a bigger position as the Head of Administration.I was delighted,we talked at length and I was told my work days were Mondays to saturday,with 8-7pm work time for a salary if 25,000naira.I am a graduate,I don't seem to understand why the pay has to be so poor,thereby making the job seem like slavery.I want to give my best,I want to add value,I want to be supportive to this firm but I am not motivated by the pay.I can't be working yet be hungry,worse still as head of admin for 25,000.Please Employers I want to appeal to you all to have a conscience.Its very unfair to want someone to do so much yet get paid with little or nothing.The Economy is bad at the moment which we all know but don't use that as a yardstick to frustrate your workers because we also buy things from the market and function too.I also want to plead with the present Administration to please comeup with ways to help the Nigerian Youths.Many of us are willing to work but no jobs,while we also want to be self employed yet still no capital to start even at the smallest level.To all those Employers of labour still treating their staffers nice,I want to commend you and pray that you won't have any reason to fold up.Thank you.Please pardon any grammatical error,I am open to correction. I share your plight. I got affected by the wave but I chose to look inwards. I am so far better off. It would only amaze you there are opportunities around you that can fetch you 16* what you are being offered. Read business sections of nairalanders for thought provoking business empowerment ideas. You can employ your employer. Take the recession as an advantage to better your life. You are a graduate...with ideas, so make it count! |

Politics › Re: Buhari And Osinbajo, The Moses And Aaron Of Our Time by maestroz: 2:53pm On Sep 04, 2016 |
Toks2008: President Buhari like the moses in the Bible was sent packing from the position of authority some years back but made a come back to be the leader.
This time around he did not come back with the background he was known for as a military man but as a civilian just like moses who was known to be part of pharaoh's household came back as an unassuming fellow to lead the Israelites out of Egypt to the promise land.
I don't know what anyone else believes but I strongly believe that President Buhari is the moses of our time that will lead us out of our Egypt experience, take us through the wilderness experience but may likely not enter the promise land with us.
Now let's see the allegory;
In the life of every human or nation,there is always the Egypt experience,the wilderness experience before the promise land experience.
During the Egypt experience,the situation may seem OK but it is a disguised bondage but if you decide to leave your Egypt experience, you must be ready for a very tough wilderness experience that will make you wish you go back to Egypt.
The wilderness experience is a must for anyone or any nation desiring a promise land and those who prefer to create a comfort zone in their Egypt experience will never see the promise land.
The Buhari and Osinbanjo led government are like the Moses and Aaron of our time and the years we thought were OK in the Egypt experience only seem to be because we were in great bondage to leaders who looted our treasury with impunity while patting our heads with a ticking time bomb.
The years we thought we were OK in our Egypt experience were the years our leaders fed fat on the abundance inflow of good profits from our crude oil while throwing crumbs to the floor for us to feed on.
Like the Israelites who were already frustrated with their condition and needed a quick fix,their wilderness experience was tough and very discouraging which made them doubt the competence of Moses and Aaron and in like manner,Nigerians have gone through years of frustration and in need of a quick fix but unfortunately undergoing very very tough times which is a wilderness experience for us and this has made most Nigerians doubt the competence of President Buhari and vice president Osinbanjo.
The Israelites said to Moses and Aaron, "If only we had died by the LORD's hand in Egypt! There we sat around pots of meat and ate all the food we wanted, but you have brought us out into this desert to starve this entire assembly to death." Exodus 16:3
Yes like Moses and Aaron who made series of mistakes, it is expected for our leaders to make mistakes too but just as some Israelites persevered, prayed and supported Moses and Aaron which saw them to the promise land, let us pray and believe in the course of this seemingly "clueless" government and I'm positive that we shall get to the promise land.
Lastly, we must understand that Moses and Aaron started the journey with Israelites to the promise land but not even one of their generations who left Egypt entered the promise land but it was Joshua who eventually led the younger Israelites into it so in like manner, it just might be a Joshua who is yet unknown that will lead us to the promise land but the journey has begun and together we can channel a new course for the coming generation into a new Nigeria that will be the envy of the whole world.
Let us blame and curse less but be hopeful and let us support this government by offering viable advice and raising our voices in unity to ask questions if we are not OK with any government policy and together we will create a greater and better Nigeria for the generations to come because the journey from Egypt to the promise land will not happen overnight but we will surely get there.
God bless the Federal republic of Nigeria. Chai...see indirect campaign for osinbanjo ahead of 2019. Moses and Aaron indeed!. |

solidhomes: I did a job for someone in the US and gave a friend's US account to receive the money with the plan of opening a domiciliary account here and asking him to transfer the money to it. Over time, the money got to some thousands of dollars with him. I eventually opened the account and sent the details to him so he could help me transfer it. He didn't respond and when I called him he didn't answer the call. I called him several times after that, no response. I sent mails to him, no response. I tried to contact him on Facebook and found out he had deactivated his account. It's been like 6 weeks now and the only response to all the messages I sent to him is that even if I report the matter to the police, there is nothing they can do because it is a civil case and he will go ahead to declare bankruptcy and all he owns in the US is a TV which costs about $300.
I have all necessary details about him but I need to know the right way to go about this. I can push it to a level where he will face some charges due to his travel and work history in the US and may even lose so much but that may not eventually bring back my money.
Please, dear people, what do you suggest I do? Pay me $1500 and get your money back. |
