Your Analysis is not correct.. in as much as I don't want tinubu in that seat, unfortunately he will win.. the south East is already focused on peter obi.. so they will split their votes between peter obi and Atiku running mate. Tinubu has all these western region and Lagos too. And the northern Governor are really supporting him massively ... So if he chooses a northerner as his running mate, then he will get majority of the votes from north and west.. he doesn't really need the south East votes to win..

While I agree that it would be a good contest, I still see atiku edging out Tinubu. Lagos isn't dominated by yorubas. There are igbos and other tribes there too. So, the votes isn't going to be one sided. Ofcourse tinubu gets SW, no doubt, but atiku wouod get SS, if the hate speech campaign by Tinubu's followers continues.

You shouldn't Underestimate the resolves of northerners to vote in their own. With the support of these same northern governors, buhari, a sitting president and also a northerner, only narrowly best atiku there. Anyone who thinks Tinubu is going to beat atiku in the north is obviously a day dreamer. Atiku wouod take it, although the margin wouldn't be very wide.
