Will i be permitted at the POE?
What are the necessary docs i need to hold.
I don't have any siblings in Canada.
Will there be any questioning based on the reason why am travelling to Canada.
Though i have travelled to Canada before and came back that was 2 years ago.
Please kindly advise.
Thanks

Nobody can tell you what to expect as no one works with border services.

Good evening everyone. Please I need an advice. I have a friend that has a PR in canada. We did masters together in the united states like 5 years ago. He wants to send me and my family invitations. Me, my wife and my kid. We have a good job here in nigeria and also travel history. Please I want to know with this new portal of a thing , which one should I click and also can he identify me as his family member. I am looking forward for replies. Thank you

He is your friend not your family member. As such you don’t qualify for family reunification. Make una no go make them block this path for people wey get genuine family reunification na.

I actually did, but I was thinking because they are not very recent that’s why this was mentioned, I intend to reapply and include travel history in a letter to explain I returned after all the international travel I made then, even when financial and marital status wasn’t what it is now, then also explain to address Other concerns also

I am very hopeful about reapplying since entire application submission, biometrics and response timeline for my application is under 2 weeks (10th - 23rd Dec) but just need guidance on best approach from the house this time around

You should know that getting a visa is a privilege and not a right.

The visa officer reserves the right to deny your visa application with reasonable reasons.

While some will see your medical tourism as no big deal, most will flag this as giving birth in Canada is expensive for foreigners and this is where scrutiny comes from.

Order for your gcms notes (Google search : gcms note) and see the exact reason you were denied. This might take anywhere from 30+ days to be available.

The ban on fights from India was from April to September 2021. 5 months. Keep in mind that the existing vaccines are more effective against the delta variant than omicron (India was banned due to delta).

Ban has been lifted!

some people have been seperated from their spouses for extended periods and you are telling them to take it easy? people have their reasons for their actions. i see no problem in exploring loopholes in order to reunify with your family.

I know it is not easy, all I am saying is the loophole you think is easy or the way out might turn out to be way more than expected.

You have waited this long to unite, why not wait a little longer.

This ban is temporary!

Either way, good luck !

I am a bit lost with respect to the travel ban. Are Nigerian passport holders completely banned for now?

Otherwise, can one travel to a country not on the list (e.g. Dubai, Ghana, Cotonou, Ethiopia, Germany, etc.) and then take a flight from there to Canada after 15 days?

Anyone tried this lately? Please advise.

Those countries go soon ban Nigeria, make una take am easy.

The ban is just temporary which will be lifted soon.

You already have your visa, why not wait till they lift the ban instead of putting yourself at unnecessary risk.

Good day house.
My spouse is coming to canada before this year ends. She is fully vaccinated, will she be made to quarantine in a hotel or can she do the quarantine at my accomodation. Please anyone who entered Canada from Nigeria since this recent ban should please advice me.

If she is not a PR or citizen, she won’t be allowed entry.

This letter was sent to my friend, Does it mean Nigerians can travel from any other country or total ban no matter your location..

As at 1 December, travellers from Nigeria will not be allowed entry into Canada. Except they are PR and citizens, they can but have to do a PCR test at a transit point.

Simply put: if you are coming as a tourist or visitor; stay in Nigeria until the restrictions are lifted!

Nope. I'm not evn sure Canada issues 6 months visa. They give btwn 1 year and 10yrs. Mostly determined by the expiry date of your passport.

They do actually.

Visa validity is on a case by case basis. I have even seen 3 months.

Good Evening Everyone.

I currently work in a company and my monthly take home is 210k. A friend helped me to apply for a Job in Canada, I did the interview Last Month and I was sent a congratulatry message Yesterday from the Company to start work in Canada.

Am having little fears, have not been to Canada, I don't know how they operate, I don't have family there, my friend that applied for me stays in New York.

What if I go and things didn't work out fine, I lose my 210k job and lose Canada job.

Pls should i do. Help

Nobody can vouch anything. It is what it is.

Last I heard, there was a one day service which costs an extra $200 for admin fees. I am not sure if that is still available.

If you need to travel to Naija, abike and aregbesola said, you can come home with expired kpali.

If you need it for something else, reach out to those folks and ask for extension. Even immigration grants extensions for things like this.

Hey guys, I just found this thread recently. I have a couple of questions to ask.

I went to ottawa to renew my nigerian passport on the 15th of Oct, 2021. They said it takes about 6 weeks or more. However, I need it before the end of december but I have heard horror stories.

My question guys is that is there anyone here that can vouch to me that it did not take long or it will come in the stipulated time or got their own recently and when did they apply. I would appreciate the responses. Thank you in advance

You should thank God you are in the position of giving and not the other way around. Or would you want to switch places with them?
Ask those begging, they wish to be in your position. So stop. Complaining.

What you should rather be doing is praying to God to sustain you in that position and increase you to a point where you'll have more than enough to give to the needy.

This right here have driven people to their early grave.

Guilt tripping is not healthy.

Hi guys,

I just applied for a PhD in human and reproductive development. My research area is In gynecological cancer,(mainly ovarian cancer).

I have done my research, however i still want to make sure cancer is a lucrative area to go into in canada.

Pls if you have firsthand knowledge, i look forward to hearing from you.

No one can really give you an answer that is certain as no one knows the future. Do what’s best for you.

Moreover, if you are doing a PhD because lucrativeness, maybe you should stop now and do something else. Because, down the line lucrativeness will vanish and only passion will carry you through.

Again, do what’s best for you.

Hi Everyone,

We are looking to apply for my spouse to visit Canada leveraging the Covid19 reuniting families plan.

Is there anyone here who got their family to enter Canada recently using same process?

Note: We've gone through the below process link but still have some grey areas we'd like to clarify. (E.g., the written authorization vs travel exemptions)

Thanks

For Immediate family member, you don’t need any letter of authorization or exemption.

Good afternoon my people

I am currently waiting for PPR, AOR Jan 2021 but I have decided to go for my masters while I wait.

1. Currently in Us on visit and secured admission for mba but it takes 5 months appx for change of visa to students visa in USA and the program is for 2 years

2. Got an admission in the Uk too which is for a year.

My question is does Canada value Uk admission more than us? Because for the us, if I start my change in status to student now , it takes app 5 months before i can now proceed to the 2year mba program ? Won’t I have gotten ppr before all this ends like this?

Honestly, nobody really cares if you got a degree in UK or US or even in Nigeria.

All that matters is what you are bringing to the table, when you get employed. Heck, most job here just requires high school diploma.

So, do whatever works best for you.
