People mumu sha. Enemies of the country just don't want to hear any good news about Nigeria.

They don't understand when currency is being defended. If the CBN defends Naira, the rate will be fixed, and subsidy will be paid on it only to benefit the rich (banks, aboki & CBN staff doing roundtripping).

A defended currency will not be appreciating daily like the Naira is doing. It is always fixed. Example of this is when USD was sold by Emefiele at the rate of 400 naira and black market was selling same for 750. They deliberately created that gap to benefit their cronies and the nation was paying subsidy for a select few, not even the eligible customers.

Travel / Re: Benefits Of Flying Airpeace: Cheaper Fares, Job Creation, Healthy Competition by micellgevity: 8:26am On Apr 11

Bro, that's wrong.

What then do you want us to compare without seeing Air peace price. Is the booking platform you visited the only online airline booking platform?
No, but pls help us post one if you find. But I checked about two platforms and I couldn't find it. But mind you, Gatwick airport in London just accepted Airpeace after a very tough battle, as other airlines ganged up against Airpeace. They don't want the airport to accept them. So, this may be one of the many reasons the airline has not been coming up on platforms like Wakanow and co. Though, I may be wrong, maybe I did not search deeper.

Why not post the price of Air peace
I can't find it on the ticket booking platforms, maybe majority of them have not added it to their platforms. But the low fares you are seeing now was caused by the introduction of Airpeace into the market.
Travel / Benefits Of Flying Airpeace: Cheaper Fares, Job Creation, Healthy Competition by micellgevity: 8:11am On Apr 11
Thank you Airpeace. I urge all Nigerians to please as a matter of patriotism fly Airpeace. Before now, Lagos—London ticket was outrageous and too expensive to afford. Airpeace came onboard and they (other airlines) all started slashing their fares. Thank you Airpeace.

Benefits of flying Airpeace

1. Healthy competition which will bring about air fare reduction just like we are seeing currently. Pls, fly them so they don't go out of the market, as long as they are in the business, the fare will be fair and it is to our advantage. Though, they want to force them out of the business by also slashing their fares even below Airpeace's. Where were they all these years? Pls, encourage Airpeace and fly it, even if the foreign airlines' fairs are cheaper.

2. Job creation. No foreigner will work there as hostess and crews but our youths.

3. No issue with fx repatriation, Airpeace doesn't need dollars to repatriate, you pay in NGN and Airpeace gets its money in NGN.

4. More fx inflows. All foreigners coming to Nigeria will pay in dollars, and those dollars are coming into our economy, making dollars more available and this will strengthen NGN and crash the USD.

The image below show how other airlines now slash their fares. One way ticket to London that used to be about 2 million Naira, and that was probably the cheapest you could get then. Thank you Airpeace for giving these people a run for their money.

Reasons Dollars will Continue to Go Down

There are many unlearned or mediocre kids who don't follow events on this platform. Maybe it's because they are too lazy to read or ask questions. You will hear some say the CBN is busy defending Naira, some will say the CBN is depleting the foreign reserve and pumping the USD into the market.

Some are saying how long can the CBN continue pumping the USD? . I can assure you that the CBN has got it right, and their formula is working. It only takes time to get a working formula, but once you get it gbam!

FYI, CBN does not defend the Naira again, it is still floated. The CBN does not fix rates, defend or flood the market with borrowed dollars. The CBN gets its rates from the lowest band of I&E FX window at the close of the day's business. You can google what I&E window is.

Reasons Dollars will continue to go downwards

Dangote Refinery
The USD is on the downward trends, may reach unexpected low before June as petroleum marketers started lifting AGO (Diesel) from Dangote refinery earlier this week. PMS lifting to commence in May. This will further crash the USD.

Dollars are now more available to other importers as oil marketers don't need dollars again to import

The reason being that large percentage of the importers sourcing the USD are petroleum products importers, now that they pay in Naira for lifting from Dangote refinery, there will be a less pressure on the USD and dollar will be more available to other importers who do not need as much dollars as petroleum products importers.

CBN now collects oil sales revenues
We now have more dollars available than we used to. CBN now collects oil revenues as against the old practice when the NNPCL used to collect the money in USD from our oil buyers without remiting same to the CBN.

The payment is now made directly to the CBN to avoid any shady deals or missing in transit. As a matter of fact, as at today, the rate at the parallel market is cheaper than the official market.

BDCs are now at the mercy of the CBN as they are now regulated
The BDCs are now begging the CBN to adjust the rate below the parallel market rate. This may happen this week if the CBN sees how things are going. The reason for this is that hoarders are now in panic sales for the fear of further losses.

BDCs are now buying from the hoarders less than the official rate. And this trend will also make the CBN adjust its rate. Another banger is that the BDCs are not allowed to sell more than 1.5% of the buying rate from the CBN, unlike before when we used to have a wide gap between the official and the parallel rates.

CBN USD policies on DMB
The CBN has also tightened the noose on the banks. Nobody can get the USD without actually needing it. You submit your three years tax certificates, international passport, visa, oversea's vendor's account number (in which the bank will help you pay as you will not be given any physical dollar), proforma and any other document as may be required by your bank.

Similarly, your bank will have to apply to the CBN portal on your behalf, and upon qualifying for the application, your bank will pay the said amount into your oversea's vendor's account. There is no room for hoarding of the USD which will in turn cause unnecessary artificial scarcity in the market.

As an importer sourcing dollars from the bank, you are only entitled to 20 percent of the total sum needed, and note that this will not be given to you in cash either. It will be paid into your dollar card which you can only spend outside the country when you travel abroad for your importation activities. You don't have any business spending dollars in Nigeria.

The same thing goes for those who patronise the bereaux de change, before you can get the USD from the aboki, you must definitely need it outside the shore of Nigeria. There is no longer undocumented transactions. You have to submit your NIN and BNV. If you are going to study abroad and you want to pay your school fees, you must submit a copy of your admission letter, school invoice and account number. Then the aboki will help you pay.

No longer undocumented transactions, and you cannot collect it from the aboki, let alone hoarding it. Just like an importer, you as a student are also entitled to 20 percent of the total amount. You may need some money outside the school fees, like accommodation, transportation and some other miscellanies. Don't forget that aboki will not give you this 20 percent in cash, it will be paid into a designated facility designed by the CBN.

You may think you can buy your way and play the game but I doubt it, because no aboki will want to toy with his business. As a matter of fact, they all now register with 250k for one state operation and 500 million Naira deposit. For an aboki that wants to operate nationwide, they have to register with 500k and deposit 2 billion Naira. You heard me right, 2 billion Naira. And any infraction may make them lose their deposit.

No aboki will even favour you at the expense if his business because the CBN is now giving them 20,000 dollars per week to trade with and they will pay the Naira equivalent to the CBN. Though, they have not reached the target, they can only get 10k USD for now, and as more dollars are available, they can get the 20k USD as promised.

Deregistration of 4173 BDCs
I don't think any aboki will want to play any dirty game to lose this opportunity, because henceforth, they have to account for how the USD given to them the previous week was used with documents to back it up before they can qualify for another allocation. And you think with all these stringes attached, an aboki will want to favour you as a customer to lose his business? Not even a politician can make him play the ball. For your information, about 4173 abokis were deregistered, and licenses withdrawn. We are only left with manageable 1500 plus. Any uncomplied aboki will be deregistered with the speed of light.

In a long while, this month of March was the only month the federal allocation would be shared without dollar going up. Instead, it nosedived. I trust our super corrupt governor's before these policies, they would have converted their state allocations to dollars, weakened our Naira and strengthened the dollars. Awon unpatriotic mofos. Another shocker is that commercial banks cannot hoard dollars again. They are given a threshold to maintain and any excess should be sold to their customers.

This also includes the profits they make on the dollar transactions that used to be shared by the shareholders before now. Any profit from the dollar transactions should be reinjected into their dollar business and when the threshold is reached, they should sell the spillovers. Is God not wonderful? Our almighty banks, abokis and super governors are all caged with one stroke of policies. Nigeria is on the right track and we are going to get it right.

Inflation will come down
It will take time to reflect, especially if the CBN can sustain the policies. Most importers imported when the exchange rate was high. The new price will only reflect when they want to restock.

FRAUD IN BUHARI GOVT AS N1.5 TRILLION, $9 BILLION TRACED TO NIMASA BOSS, BASHIR JAMOH’S PERSONAL ACCOUNTS

United Kingdom investigators have bursted another corruption scandal in the President Muhammadu Buhari led administration involving the Managing Director, Nigeria Maritime Administration and Safety Agency, NIMASA, Bashir Jamoh, where various sums including N1.5 Trillion and another $9,557,312.50 have been traced to his personal accounts.

Pointblanknews.com investigation revealed that N1.5 Trillion was found in a Fidelity Account 4020949836 linked to Bashir Jamoh, who is also the father-in-law of Sabiu Yusuf aka Tunde, President Muhammadu Buhari’s Personal Assistant.

Curiously, the Fidelity account with N1, 505,890,450,000.67 has Hamza Ibrahim Jamoh with BVN 22151837650 and Cell phone number 08034517410. While the BVN number revealed a different identity, the cell phone linked to the account is linked to the DG of NIMASA, Jamoh, according to Pointblanknews.com investigations.

Pointblanknews.com investigations revealed that the N1.5trillion was after few months cleared from the account to avoid investigations on the lodgment of such huge amount.

In a four page document titled due diligent report on Bashiru Yusuf Jamoh, the Director-General NIMASA, which pointblanknews.com has copies, the report exposed another lodgment of $9,557,312.50 into Access Bank account 0710814478 also belonging to him.

The investigation also exposed other infractions by the agency’s boss which also include award of contracts to companies which he has interest in.

The investigation, according to the report focused on fraud, money laundering and breach of the Nigeria code of conduct act. This same investigation, it stated spans across all the Agencies under the Ministry of Transport having started with the Nigerian Ports Authority, NPA.

GLOBAL INVESTIGATORS UNITED KINGDOM, the investigation agency that signed the report investigated the bank transactions of Alhaji Jamoh focusing on inflows/Credit and Debits on his bank statements.

It found the transaction’s records of BASHIR YUSUF JAMOH showing the payment of $9,557,312.50 (Nine million, five hundred and fifty-seven thousand, three hundred and twelve dollars and fifty cents) into his personal accounts from Central Bank of Nigeria in violation of the Treasury Single Account, TSA.

“Most baffling is that CBN transferred millions of dollars into the personal account of BASHIR YUSUF JAMOH.

“Records shows the withdrawal of $5,425,200.00 (Five million, Four hundred and twenty-five thousand and two hundred dollars only) by CASH WITHDRAWAL from ACCESS Bank, Burma Road, Apapa, Lagos.

“BASHIR YUSUF JAMOH set up a company TALENT EXPERTISE INTL. LIMITED with RN: 1488830 to solicit for jobs from NIMASA. Being the director of a company and awarding contract to own company in violation of the code of conduct act section 3 part of the Third Schedule of the 1999 constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and code of conduct for public officers involved in procurement, Part X1, section 57, Sub-section (2) of the Procurement Act, 2007.”

According to the report, BIXBY OIL LIMITED has also paid money into his account, and the following payment into the account of the company was captured.

The UK group said with reference to the allegations against Bashir Yusuf Jamoh, it is important that he be suspended from office immediately, and forensic audit carried out on the financial activities of NIMASA.

“We recommend that a panel be set up to look into the accounts of NIMASA CABOTAGE 2% SURCHAGE account Number 56595 with ACCESS bank. Also, to ascertain reasons why NIMASA is still using Commercial] Banks to receive funds instead of the TSA with Central Bank of Nigeria.

“The Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria, Godwin Emefiele should be invited by Security Agencies to give reasons why payment of such huge amount was paid into Bashir Yusuf Jamoh’s account.

“We also recommend that Bashir Yusuf be prosecuted for financial crimes and money laundering as established by our investigations.”

Pointblanknews.com investigation revealed that Jamoh is Buhari’s direct in-law. His wife, Hajiya Zulai, is the daughter of the President’s sister and it was while living at Buhari’s Kaduna home that Zulai and Jamoh met.

Jamoh who untill recently was the Executive Director, Administration and Finance in the agency took over office from Dakuku Peterside.

It is not known yet the purpose for the huge sum in a personal account and why the security agency is yet to investigate the fund, but information available to pointblanknews.com has it that the money was meant to be laundered.

Relatives to President Buhari has been in the spotlight over corruption in this present administration.

Recently, the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) declared Gimba Yau Kumo, a former son-in-law of President Muhammadu Buhari, wanted over an alleged $65 million fraud.

Kumo, a former managing director of the Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria, married Fatima, the president’s daughter, in 2016 at Daura, Katsina state.

A friend came to me yesterday, he wanted to sell his house to relocate to Canada. He is 42+ yrs. He is assured of a tourist visa that will cost him 1.8m excluding ticket.

He wants to know if it is worth it considering his age. Also he is afraid that if he sells his house in Ilorin (a new site) and the things go south what will happen.

Another thing he is assured is that his visa can be extended before expiration. He wants to know whether he can truly work with a tourist visa of 5 yrs and whether his visa can be extended.

Your inputs will be appreciated.

Thanks.
