Indeed, people need to have an open mind when moving to Canada. i.e. explore other provinces like you mentioned. You never know. Some might get lucky - have a low cost of living plus a descent wage.

However, it is important to also note that Canada has a small job market compared to most other G8 countries. That means some particular jobs are almost not existent in some provinces except one is willing to change career. Alberta effectively put an end to my banking career, but that was where we had family before we landed. I found myself in the oil industry since that was what was reigning in that part of Canada grin.

Maybe if I had later on moved to somewhere like Montreal or Toronto, I might still be in Banking but moving also cost money. This shows that we can't always have it all. All provinces have their merits and demerits. It is left for the immigrant to conduct a solid research on the market and available jobs of where he or she wants to land.

Gbammest. Come for a bear hug. Na valentine season sef. Lol

Fact is that the opportunities in ON can't be ignored tho. For every 1 finance/IT role in AB, there's probably 20 in ON.

With 1 billion people hustling for the 20 roles grin in other words zero ur mind, come,Search other provinces. Ab and ON aren't the only provinces.

You can also call vfs to ask how far though most times dem dey do like who evil spirit dey work.

pls, can an agency help in doing all these processes if I have the money. From the beginning to the end since am usually busy, except for days when I will be physically needed like ielts exams etc...

Reason am asking is that an agency in Ogun state claim they can help me procure 2 years work visa and I will be renewing it till am given permanent residency. Although everything will cost me almost a million naira and I will have to repay them if I have confirmed the visa to be genuine.

Although am skeptical about it, but I want to give it a try since am not going to spend any cash except for ielts. They will be in charge from start to finish without me spending a dime. I only repay them if am already legally working in CA.
MY QUESTION IS, DO WE HAVE AGENTS OR COY THAT DO THIS OR IF ITS JUST MERE HEARSAY...

There are many cic approved immigration consultants, check the cic website. These ones if yawa gas, Canadian govt fit kpake dem.

Don't pay any ogun person for work visa, dem go chop u clean mouth. Unless u like stories that touch, lol

Depends on ambition. Do you want to run things and rub shoulders with the best? Bigger pay and prestige? Or you're just OK with making a living and living a chilled life? The choice is yours...

Commute isn't a big deal, 35mins train from Mississauga to Downtown Toronto.

All this talk about lower cost of living is relative and a trade-off with competitive pay and unlimited opportunities.

Enjoy...If you choose Ontario, hit me up make i buy you 2 bottles of your favourite when you land... grin grin

Buahahahaha, oshey! Shoulder rubber. Talk say u dey find babe, no dey derail person from her plan.

I am also torn between the two. I'm an accountant.

I have booked my ticket to Calgary and decided that I will make a decision at some point on if I will just end my trip in Toronto as the flight passes through Toronto. But if I continue on to Calgary, since cost of living is cheaper, I will not lose much to book a flight back to Toronto if all the interviews are there.

I will book airbnb for only two weeks in whichever location and move if required. That means my cargo items need to wait a month or two till I am sure of my permanent location and I will not get permanent accommodation until I am certain.

Exactly, you are not a tree. You move to where favour u pass

Morning seniors.

Got PPR and should be coming with my family by summer. Stuck between choosing Alberta and Ontario. I heard rents are cheaper in Alberta, the minimum wage is higher than ontario and they pay less taxes. However, I am concerned about job opportunities. Studied law and i don't know if there are readily available paralegal jobs in Alberta that i can do while i take steps to getting enrolled to their Bar. Wifey studied Economics, and is looking at Admin Roles whiles she gets additional qualifications.

So what do you advise? Ontario or Alberta?

I recently cargoed to Edmonton and my stuff scaled through, I had like 105kg worth of load. All stuffs were within the listed kgs.

Also know others that cargoed and all scaled thru because they cargo 20 bags of beans at once cheesy One was searched because of the scent leaf. After testing it, it was released.

In other words, make una use sense when cargoing so it won't be like we are being witch hunted. grin

So you're a baby mama wanting to bring your pikin with you to Canada under the caregiver program ? Call it what it is. Canada can prove they're you're biological children. But I don't think you'd qualify under that program if you decide to bring your kids with you. Nigerians barely get a visa for that program. In fact I've never met a Nigerian who has.

Actually many Nigerians have benefited smiley
