The lady who interviewed me was quite nice, Paulinus was his usual obnoxious self, all in all the interview lasted about 10 minutes.

So, I landed in Lagos on Thursday night. Stayed in integrity homes for 14k...rude reception as if we begged to stay in the hotel. Did a lot of document sorting (I have been sorting documents for over 2 weeks now cos of Uncle Paulie....I cross checked and re-read infos about my school course Germany and Berlin. It was quite overwhelming.

Sha, got to the embassy around 5:30, forgot I had printed out my appointment letter o, I sha did that. Those people wanted to take 3k for one colored print out. Ah them be scam o. Sha paid 2k. The 2k had to come out from my Visa money. I still believed I was okay as I had 30k with me. Sha, me and my uncle went to Germanys embassy area o, my mind sha told me to ask how much be visa fee now, one security man sha told me 34k. Omo, I panic. those mopo people and bro paulinus started harassing me and my uncle, oga paulie even asked them to take note of me if I come back late cos I left to go and withdraw. Sha, I got the 4k plus around 6:20 and i was still the first person apart from one girl who is prolly there for another visa reason. Sha, oga paulie sha started his usual. Calling out documents and how to arrange them, abusing me for not doing it well. sha making me panic. But he never sent me back o. The man favored me. When he now even sent another guy back, I knew it was favor cos he had corrected me more than that guy. Sha, went in and was the first to be interviewed

Please don't panic o, you might naturally do but calm down, be slow when answering questions so she can type, listen to brother paulie carefully when arranging documents to avoid yabs and watch how he places your documents. Be the first to get there. So go very early. It helps. Cos when paulie starts with you on document arrangement, he won't be able to send you back Especially if you are the only student visa applicant at that moment. By the time 3 people came, I was already far with my arrangement and I had understood what he expected so there were fewer mistakes and he couldn't send me back

I believe I have gotten the Visa already. I speak in faith.

Try and find out where you made a mistake in your application or interview. Also have you been rejected before? If you have been rejected before then that is the reason for this rejection. The remedy is Appeal.Appeal immediately and address everything you think was wrong with the application then they will approve your application

So I will talk about my area (out of experience)
I am in Mittweida, one small village so we under freiberg, once you have your required documents you book an appointment.
It takes 2 to 4 weeks to hear back from them after you have gone with your documents on the said appointmrnt day.you book another appointment to go and pick your resident permit you are given two years ( I was given 18 months because of my passport.) But it's not a problem renewing here is easy, you don't need to block again.
A Nigerian renewed with €3k in his account while a Ghanaian did with €500. All got two more years and they are almost done with their studies just their thesis left.

For residence permit, you will still show the confirmation of your BA or proof of finance applicable. For extension of residence permit after one year of study, you will need to show another blocked acct though it depends on each city, some will ask for half of the normal BA. In a city like Hannover, Hannover gives 2 years residence permit straight up, meaning you dont have to show any proof of finance for the second year till you finish your Msc study. But for a city like Gottingen, they issue 1 year RP, so for the second year, you have to show another proof. For the extension of Residence permit, e.g after your studies, and you want to extend residence permit for job search (18 months), you will need to block your account again with euros or proof of employment or other proofs applicable!! The amount requested or proofs of finance needed depends on the city/town. For extension of RP if the program last longer than normal which is unusual, you will need to show proof of finance or BA that covers the remaining period of the program. So I feel like there's a lot of information about financing the blocked account for the visa application and early stay, however there's little or nothing concerning the financial documentation for residence permit application or extension if the program lasts longer than the time frame given during the original residence permit application.

It'll really be great to have clarification on this.

I funded via the black market (i.e opening a domiciliary account, having the black market guys pay into my account then I transfer to my blocked account) I got it done at 412 per Euro. Hope this helps.

Please anyone posting any information on bank rate should make it very clear. Whether the bank is willing to fund a German BA using the CBN rate. I doubt if it can be done coz all banks are authorize to use that rate only for school fees and medical fees.

I doubt you'd find any.
The fund isn't going to a SCHOOL account, it's going to your personal account, so they can't charge you at the CBN rate and the transaction will not be treated as a student transaction. They'd source for funds from the black market, hence the black market rate.

When I applied for mine, took them a long time before I was actually told that the amount to be transferred isn't large enough, that's why it was taking too long to source for it. I was later advised to open a domiciliary account, have the black market guys pay in the euro, while I pay them the naira equivalent then do the transfer from my domiciliary account to the blocked account.
