Politics / How Kings Of Nigeria Welcome Prince Charles? First They Ride In Style! by Naijautonews: 10:02am On Dec 24, 2018
The visit of Prince Charles, the heir to the British throne, is a big occasion that gathers most of all the most important figures in the Nigerian society with Muhammadu Sanusi II, the Emir of Kano, and Oba Enitan Ogunwusi, the Ooni of Ife converging to come out in style from their luxury vehicle.
The Emir of Kano showed up in his famous 1952 Rolls-Royce Silver Wraith ‘AKW11’ that puts on a customized number plate reading Amir Kano (The Emir of Kano). This is also one of the most costly vehicles to service in Nigeria.

Before having the chance to witness this iconic model, Prince Charles and his wife, Duchess Camilla was previously welcomed by President Muhammadu Buhari at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

Car Talk / 7 Most Common Mistakes In Car Maintenance by Naijautonews: 9:36am On Dec 24, 2018
Your car is a precious property and money spent on maintaining your car is worth thinking due to the fact that not only it gives you more comfort and less worry on the roads but also it may cost you a fortune if not receive proper maintenance.

Let’s check out our list of 7 most common and most expensive mistakes to avoid in car maintenance practice.

1. Not checking the tires regularly
Checking tire pressure doesn’t simply mean to check if there’s any flat tire but it’s also to optimize the fuel economy for your car (If your tires are not in sufficient air supply, the engine has to consume more gas to power the car. Also, make sure to do tire rotation when needed. All are in the manual, you should check the booklet for advice from the car maker.

2. Not changing engine oil regularly
Bad oil resulting from being in long use can damage your car’s engine. Don’t ever skip your oil change longer than 10,000 miles. Let’s have a good habit of changing oil engine regularly.

3. Neglecting the brake
Changing the brake pads may sound expensive but it is even more expensive when the brake has completely worn out. When there comes the squeaking noise, you should check your brake as soon as possible.

4. Not spending time on easy things you can learn
Sometimes we are too lazy to learn something easy. Many car owners often depend too much on mechanics thinking they don’t have to learn anything because the mechanics are available to fix every problem. However, there are lots of things motorists can fix themselves without calling for the help of others. Small things like changing a flat tire or jumping start a car are not difficult and take little time to learn. Why don’t you spend some time practicing them to avoid discomfort in future?

5. Using old windshield wipers
It doesn’t cost much time and money to change windshield wipers but lots of people still persistently keep using their old ones which may not provide clear vision in bad weather. Cracks in the blades and streaks on the windshield are the signs telling us it’s time for new wipers. The average windshield wiper replacement should be about 6 months.

6. Ignoring changing fuel or air filters
Changing fuel or air filters are easy; you can do it yourself with no hard work or even if retorting to your mechanic, chances are you don’t have to pay any additional cost for this simple job.

7. Ignoring fluid checking
Fluid change is just as important as oil change to ensure your car’s engine works well. Don’t ignore fluid change, including transmission fluid, brake fluid, coolant and all the other fluids or it will cost you a bunch.
