Juan Manuel Mata, the father to Manchester United midfielder, Juan Mata, has disclosed that the Red Devils have finally offered his son a new contract at the club.

Mata Senior, a businessman and football agent, also said that his son has other options from Champions League clubs.

“Manchester United have offered to renew us, we are very happy,” Juan Manuel Mata told Cadena SER.

“But there are proposals from Champions League teams.

“Spain, maybe, but today is not the day to talk, it is not yet decided.”

“City? It would not be the ideal option,” he added.

“There are two options that do not [appeal]: Liverpool and City.

“We have to respect the Manchester United fans, he is held very dear here.”

Mata’s contract with Man United will expire at the end of the season.

The 30-year-old has scored 44 goals in 215 appearances for Man United since joining the Old Trafford club in January 2014 from Chelsea.

Ousmane Dembele has been fined €10,000 by a German court for leaving the house he rented when playing for Borussia Dortmund littered with rubbish.

The France international left the German giants in August 2017 as he forced through a move to Barcelonain a stunning £105million move.

After sealing the move, he never returned to his former house in Germany and he has now been fined for abandoning his old home.

According to German newspaper Bild , Dembele’s landlord Gerd Weissenberg said: “The house was a dustbin”.

Weissenberg added:

“The house was totally littered. Every room. When I first entered the house again, I got a shock. “It’s my parents’ home and that’s why I’m very disappointed. I am selling the house now.”

The fine, which included rent arrears, was less than half the €21,000 originally sought by Weissenberg.

But Demebele’s lawyer Horst Kletke was pleased with the ruling regarding his client.

Kletke, as reported by Bild, said: “Of course Mr Dembele earns lots of money but he also has the right to be treated correctly. “We’ve made big strides today (with the reduced fine verdict).”

Manchester United are hopeful Marcus Rashford will be fit to play Barcelona in their Champions League quarter-final first leg on Wednesday.

Rashford missed United’s previous Premier League game, a 2-1 defeat to Wolves last week, with an ankle injury.

But the England striker trained on Tuesday before the game at Old Trafford, initially on his own before joining up with the rest of the squad.

“Hopefully he will be ready,” United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer said.

“He needed extra warm-up and hopefully he won’t get a reaction.

“He joined part of it at the end but he couldn’t join the fun part of training.”

Midfielder Nemanja Matic, who was an unused substitute in the Wolves defeat because of injury, did not train but Solskjaer says said he still hopes the Serb will be fit.

However, he said fellow midfielder Andre Herrera is “probably out” while forward Alexis Sanchez. who has missed United’s past five matches, will not feature against Barcelona despite returning to training.

Chelsea star, Eden Hazard, is set to finalise his move to Real Madrid in the ‘coming days’, after Zinedine Zidane approved the transfer, according to Marca.

The 28-year-old wanted to move to the Bernabeu last summer following Belgium’s third-place finish at Euro 2018, but Maurizio Sarri convinced him to stay at Stamford Bridge for one more season.

However, Hazard has less than 15 months to run on his existing deal and has made it clear he does not want to sign an extension, despite Chelsea offering him around £300,000-a-week.

Hazard has made no secret of his admiration for Zidane in the past and the Frenchman’s return to Madrid appears to have swung his mind in favour of the LaLiga giants.

It is believed that Chelsea and Madrid are now close to agreeing the terms of Hazard’s departure and agreement is expected to be finalised imminently.

Chelsea slapped a £100million price tag on Hazard last summer and it’s likely they’ve demanded a similar fee this time around, despite Hazard’s contract having just one year remaining.

Chelsea winger, Adrian Akande has turned down an opportunity to represent England U16 National Team.

He opted to play for Nigeria U17.

The player refused to join England at the upcoming Montaigu Tournament.

The Montaigu Tournament is one of the most prestigious youth football tournaments in the world.

England is drawn alongside Argentina, Ivory Coast and Portugal in Group B.

The England-born youngster was asked to meet up with the Young Lions on Friday 12th April at Hilton Cobham Hotel ahead of the squad’s departure to France on April 14th.

But he opted to stay back in Abuja with a view to representing the Golden Eaglets at the upcoming Africa U17 Cup of Nations in Tanzania.

Allnigeriasoccer reports that there are strong indications that the former the starlet is among the players being considered for the trip to East Africa as he has been asked to send his passport details by the Nigeria Football Federation.

He has also underwent a MRI test earlier this week.

Akande who was born in 2003, decided to play for Nigeria over England after talks with Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, President Amaju Pinnick.

Maurizio Sarri believes Callum Hudson-Odoi can become one of the “best players in Europe” after his full Premier League debut in Chelsea’s 3-0 win over Brighton.

With fans putting pressure on Sarri to hand the talented teenager a starting berth, he succumbed to pressure against Brighton, starting the England international for the first time in the Premier League, and he did not disappoint, creating the opener for Olivier Giroud to set Chelsea on their way to a comfortable victory.

Sarri was full of praise for Hudson-Odoi’s contribution throughout the match, and even tipped the 18-year-old for the very top.

“Callum started for the first time in the Premier League but he has played 20 matches or so for us,” Chelsea’s head coach told Sky Sports. “I was sure about him. Chelsea star, Mateo Kovacic has finally decided not to leave the club this summer transfer window.

Kovacic joined Chelsea on a season-long loan deal from Real Madrid last year.

The midfielder has already been told that he will not be in Real Madrid manager, Zinedine Zidane’s plans next season.

However, Goal reports that Kovacic has now decided to remain at Stamford Bridge after the end of the season than returning to his parent club, Real Madrid.

Manchester United could let as many as six players leave this summer as they prepare to back new boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer in the transfer market.

Arsenal striker, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, could be forced into international retirement, having previously threatened to quit the Gabon national team.

Manchester City manager, Pep Guardiola, has said his team are in perfect shape, to become the first English side to win a quadruple.

City have already lifted the Carabao Cup, while they will face Tottenham in the Champions League quarter-final.

They will also take on Brighton and Hove Albion in the FA Cup semi-final.

Guardiola’s side return to Premier League action this weekend, facing relegation-threatened Fulham on Saturday, before Liverpool – two points ahead of City but having played one game more – face Tottenham on Sunday.

The Spaniard has often been reluctant to speak about the possibility of a quadruple this season, but with the feat becoming more realistic, he has admitted his side are in perfect shape to make history.

“I don’t know how many teams in Premier League history have been in this position fighting for four titles. We are and it’s nice and it’s good.

Manchester United midfielder, Ander Herrera, is seriously considering a lucrative three-year offer to join Paris Saint-Germain, once his contract at Old Trafford expires in the summer, ESPN reports.

United have been trying to tie Herrera down to a new deal since last year, but the 29-year-old is yet to agree terms.

However, it is believed he could turn down the proposal from United and sign a three-year deal with PSG, as he sees their offer as too good to decline.

PSG are chasing Herrera to replace wantaway midfielder Adrien Rabiot.

Super Eagles captain, John Obi Mikel, has disclosed that former Manchester United manager, Jose Mourinho “killed” him during their time at Premier League giant, Chelsea.

Mikel Obi said Mourinho killed him because he got sent off on his first game for the Blues.

According to him, he was quite slow to the pace expected of him by Mourinho in his early days at Stamford Bridge.

The 31-year-old midfielder spent 11 years at Chelsea, winning the Champions League, two Premier League titles and three FA Cups before joining Chinese side, Tianjin Teda, in 2017.

“Got sent off on my first game. Mourinho killed me. The speed of the game took me a while to understand it,” Mikel told BBC World Service’s Sportsworld.

“I was a very naughty boy. I’ll get up to speed but I was late to trainings many times. I was wearing the wrong dress codes.

“Mourinho was very firm with me because he wanted me to learn and learn very fast because he brought me in.

“With Mourinho, there are no excuses. I was put in a very naughty corner a few times. It took me a while to understand where I am and I had to learn very fast.”

Super Eagles captain, John Mikel Obi, has sent a strong message to President Muhammadu Buhari-led Federal Government regarding the security situation in the country.

He spoke in reaction to the kidnap and release of the mother of fellow Super Eagles star, Samuel Kalu.

“I called Samuel when his mother was kidnapped and gave him my advice as someone who has been through it twice. I knew how he would be feeling. I was glad when his mother was released because you don’t want anyone going through that.

“I suppose these things happen every day with different families and obviously we want to see the authorities take more responsibility, but Nigeria is a very crowded place and you can’t manage the security.

“You go out and you don’t know if you will come back. The government need to look into it and they can do more,” Mikel said on BBC World Service’s Sportsworld.

Liverpool manager, Jurgen Klopp has explained why Senegalese star, Sadio Mane, is currently doing better than Egyptian forward, Mohamed Salah.

Mane has scored 11 goals in his last eleven games for Liverpool, while Salah has not scored in his last seven matches.

But Klopp believes Mane is always in the right spot at the right moment, while Salah needs to work very hard to start scoring again for the Reds.

“He [Sadio Mane] is in a really good moment, of course,” Klopp told Liverpool’s official website.

“Sadio played pretty much always like this but now he is always in the right spot in the right moment. In football, it’s sometimes like this.

“The only thing he did when he was not always in the right spot was work and work and work.

“That’s exactly what Mo Salah has to do, exactly the same: just work, do the right things and it will come again.”

Klopp added:

“He’s just rather unlucky, where Sadio is lucky in the moment – he is in brilliant shape, that’s true.

“But then, he is in the right shape and maybe a yard away from him is Mo, but somebody else scored; the cross from Robbo (at Fulham), I’m pretty sure Mo would have scored if Gini doesn’t get the ball.

“These moments… I was a striker, I had that as well, you think, ‘Oh’ and then somebody else missed the chance. That’s how it is, all good.

“But, of course, it’s a brilliant moment for him (Mane).”
