Aisha Buhari who spoke on Saturday in Abuja during an interactive programme she organised for women at the Presidential Villa, revealed that the N500bn social investment scheme has failed in the North. 

The First lady who further revealed that the situation in her home state (Adamawa), as far as the implementation was concerned was pathetic, also cited Kano, a highly-populated northern state, as another example where she believed the programme failed, despite the huge funds the Federal Government budgeted for it.

Punch reported that the SIP is domiciled in the Office of Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo, but its direct implementation is done by the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Social Investment, Mrs Maryam Uwais. However Aisha Buhari who stated that the N500bn social investment scheme has failed in North, recounted how  Uwais informed her that 30,000 women would be beneficiaries in Adamawa State. According to her this is yet to come through after 4 years.

“I don’t want to raise the alarm that my state does not benefit from it, where the SGF (Secretary to the Government of the Federation) came from, I kept quiet because I don’t want people to say that I talk too much. Recently, I saw a 74-year-old man selling petty things in Kano, I asked him how much is his capital, he told me between N3,000 and N4,000. Don’t forget that we have campaigned to give the poorest of the poor N5,000 every month.

“So, I don’t know where is the social investment… Maybe, it worked out in some states. In my own state, only a local government benefited out of the 22. I didn’t ask what happened and I don’t want to know, but it failed woefully in Kano, it’s not a good sign and it’s not a good thing."

Tobi, the Big Brother Naija housemate who shared his Beirut experience with a Punch's correspondent, disclosed that he experienced racism in Beirut. The reality show star who went on Beirut tour with Play Network Africa and other professionals from different spheres, disclosed that he had no idea what Beirut was going to look like but liked the sound of it and it turned out to be an interesting experience.

Recounting how he experienced Racism in Beirut, Tobi said; 

There weren’t many black people, at least not too many that I saw. There were many Arabs and a diversity of other people. Something funny that happened was a semblance of racism; although I would rather not use that exact word. We had reserved a club prior to the trip and when we got there, they tried to separate us from the crowd for whatever the reason was. We left because it felt disrespectful. It was like they put us in a corner. Aside that, the people of Beirut are relaxed and cheerful.

Ruggedman who reacted to recent posts against him by Kemi Olunloyo who claimed that he snitched on Naira Marley, has stated that his lawyers will act if the controversial journalist fails to stop.The veteran rapper who disclosed that a letter was written to Olunloyo, asking her to “retract, cease and desist from further defamation of the character of Ruggedman", added that she was warned to take down the posts she had already made on social media or civil actions would be taken against her. 

Ruggedman who spoke to Sunday Scoop, stated that his lawyers will act if Kemi Olunloyo fails to stop. He said, “the next step has been clearly stated in my lawyers’ letter to her. They will act accordingly if she fails to stop.”

On what he thinks her motives are for ‘attacking’ him, Ruggedman said, “I wouldn’t know her state of mind or her motives. My interest is her not using her platform or any platform to defame my name and spread false information that could incite people into actions that threaten my peace and safety. That is against the law.”

The Anambra State Police Command has arrested a 30-year-old Pastor Samuel Emeka, for allegedly kidnapping an 11-year-old. 

The Pastor who was arrested alongside his accomplice for kidnapping the 11-year-old boy, Ikechukwu Ozoekwe at Umoubi community in Anambra State, reportedly bundled his victim inside his vehicle's boot and was on the run before they were apprehended. The police spokesperson in the state, Haruna Mohammed confirmed the arrest, said the kidnap victim was rescued in good condition and had been handed over to his mother.

Oyemykke who reacted to Daddy Showkey's video about Naira Marley, went off on a rant about the singer being a fraudster yet he is squatting with a friend in Lagos. Recall we reported earlier that Daddy Showkey cursed the Nigerian government, who according to him handled the incident like the rapper was a threat to the society. A Nigerian man has narrated how his cousin duped a lady he asked out for 8 months of N19m, after he they agreed to acquire properties ahead of their wedding.According to the Nigerian man, the lady who works with an oil and gas company brought out N19m for a land in Ibeju-Lekki area of Lagos but his cousin sold the land and traveled down to Switzerland.

Prophet Oduro who spoke at his Church's service, has disclosed that having sex in front of kids transfers demonic sexual pleasure in them. The General Overseer of the Alabaster International Ministry who cautioned parents who have sex in the presence of their children to desist from doing so, further added that such acts could even make children sleep with their own parents.

A son who killed his father for preventing him from going out at their residence in the Ijoko area of Ogun State, has been arrested by the police. The incidence occurred on Monday, May 6, 2019, and it was gathered that Babatunde Olagesin  hacked his father, Taiwo Olagesin, to death with a cutlass. The murder suspect (son) who wanted to leave home for Oshodi, Lagos State, around 6am, killed his father who prevented him from going out while insisting that he would accompany him somewhere.

Taiwo had brought out the cutlass to scare his son, however during a struggle with Babatunde who wanted to take it from him, he was slashed in the stomach by the cutlass. The Ogun State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi,  who confirmed the incident, said the case had been transferred to the Homicide Section of the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department in Eleweran, Abeokuta.
