I have shown on some of my other threads why one must treat with caution with some of the major narratives of the bible. I showed that from the biblical narratives, it is not possible to reconcile the Nativity stories within the gospels and with the historical actualities.

In this thread, I would like to pose a general question, which is the following;

Are there any biblical events or narratives that can be demonstrated as having historical verifiability?

For instance, can the following events be shown to have a basis in history?

1) Garden of Eden
2) The Jewish sojourn in Egypt
3) The Noah Flood
4) The conquest at Jericho
5) Earthquake at the crucifixion of Jesus
6) Resurrection of dead saints
7) King David's kingdom
8-) The massacre of the innocent by Herod
9) The star of Bethlehem
10) The existence of King Ezekiel
11) The existence of Jesus

OK, since you want that, I shall add it to the list. Would you like to take the challenge to show that any of these eventsare historically verifiable?

I believe the account of the witnesses. I also believe these accounts should be properly interpreted. So, I do not need any further proof.

You, on the other hand, should PROVE (beyond reasonable doubt) that these events are not historically verifiable.

OK. I bet you also believe the accounts of Mu-hammed, don't you? He also is known to have existed and also had witnesses.

Well, if you don't understand, that was sarcasm, brother smiley

What are you views of Mu-hammed and on what basis do you accept (if you do) or reject (if you do) his accounts?

My main problem with Moh@mmed is the far-reaching and contradictory conclusions he made about Christ.

Moh@mmed never saw or spoke with Christ. The disciples did and wrote down what they saw and heard.

Therefore I believe the gospel accounts of Christ. I reject Moh@mmed's ideas about Christ.

Do you accept his claims that he was the last prophet of God? If so, on what basis. If not, provide your reasons?

No, I do not accept. Why, because he materially altered truths about Christ that other prophets (Isaiah, Daniel, David, etc who lived hundreds of years before Christ) uttered and wrote down.

I'm inclined to believe that as well.

Only the last one, and that's somewhat sketchy at best. The one no apologist seems willing to tackle, at least in my experience, is the resurrection of the dead saints thing. There's a lot of skirting when that one is involved.
