Ibime: Why im no join military? Tactically disciplined at standing at attention in the middle of the field like a soldier on punichment in the sun. No forward movement in any way. |

Vanzekin, why did you come when you defender is on the man? |
Re: Beijing 2008 Olympics Football Event: Men by Ibime(m): 6:19am On Aug 23, 2008 |
Saga, You see. I just told you Odemwingie is too sloppy in possession to play right-wing in a match like this. That goal started from his sloppy conceding of possession. |

Obasi will come on for Promise soon. I expect Anichebe to make an appearance also. Nsofor is not doing anything either. |
Re: Beijing 2008 Olympics Football Event: Men by Sagamite(m): 6:25am On Aug 23, 2008 |
Yes, Nsofor has not done anything but he has credit in the bank. Strikers do lose the ball, the defence should be ready for that. |

Thank god, just one more on the moronteers to leave the pitch. |

Can you see movements and short d-ats by Ekpo? |
Re: Beijing 2008 Olympics Football Event: Men by Ibime(m): 6:57am On Aug 23, 2008 |
Sagamite: Maybe in your bank, not in mine. He has just cleared the overdraft he was owing me from ACN 2006 and 2008. I never understood why he was always picked despite several poor performances. Maybe he has some political leverage. And he needs to stop taking the corner kicks. He can't cross. At least he has gone some way to restoring his standing with me in this tournament - but I still don't like him on the left of midfield. He is limited cos he has no left foot nor enough dribbling skill or spontaneity to play the position effectively. His best position is striker. Wetin Obasi do SiaSia na? Maybe he has bad attitude or something because there is no reason why he doesn't merit a shirt. The two best games we played against CIV and Belgium were the only games he has started. Anyway, I had no expectations of the gold medal so I suffer no dissapointment. I am happy to see that a lot of these boys have a good future for Super Eagles - and Okoronkwo will make a very good 2nd central striker someday. |

Good display by the boys anyway |

The silver is very much accepted from them, they have come a long way |
Re: Beijing 2008 Olympics Football Event: Men by Sagamite(m): 7:03am On Aug 23, 2008 |
3 goals and 2 assists make him a millionaire. But yes, Nsofor should never take corner kicks. Completely hopeless at it. I am not too disappointed as I never thought they could exceed the semi-final after the whole Enyeama, Uche and TT debacle. And we lost to a much stronger team. Riqeulme, Messi, Mascherano, Gago? Come on. Tough. The two matches we won convincingly had Promise excluded from the team (do we need any other hint) and one had Okonkwo excluded. If we get rid of at least 2 of the 3 moronteers then we should have a good game. |

I'm not going to completely rule out dubious referee decisions, i still saw some fouls that shouldn't have gone against us |
Re: Beijing 2008 Olympics Football Event: Men by Sagamite(m): 7:09am On Aug 23, 2008 |
folahann: And the yellow cards he gave for time wasting? And the extra minute he added on top of the surprising 5 minutes injury time? And you are complaining? |
Re: Beijing 2008 Olympics Football Event: Men by folahann(m): 7:16am On Aug 23, 2008 |
I am not complaining and i'm not saying that the reason we lost, i'm satisfied with boys' performance though they could have done better. The referee was good and he did ok but i couldn't understand how some fouls were called against us. Good Good Good, Silver is well Accepted. |
Re: Beijing 2008 Olympics Football Event: Men by Ibime(m): 7:17am On Aug 23, 2008 |
Sagamite: Don't even include Okoronkwo in that category. Okonkwo and Promise are the only morons in that team. And I believe that in 2-3 years time, you will see a totally different Okonkwo. I remember how brash Adeleye was in 2005 and we can all see what 3 years in Europe has done for him. Okonkwo could be the same. Already I saw a big improvement in the final with his discipline. He shackled Messi a lot better than some well known left backs in Europe, Ashley Cole for instance. As for Promise, no hope for him. Coming on to Okoronkwo - if you are judging Okoronkwo as a winger, I can reason with your views. But I have always known him to be a central striker in the Adebayor/Kanu mould. So where you are expecting him to dribble three players at full speed down the line, I am looking at his touch, ball control and intelligence. It speaks volume for his discipline that SiaSia plays him on the right. By no stretch of imagination is he a winger so if you are looking for blockbusting runs and dribbles, he is not the one. . . . . . but he did create everything positive that we did in the first half. As for Nsofor - he is not a left winger. Full stop. He creates nothing from that position. Infact, his left wing play is somewhat defensive. His best play was against CIV when Odemwingie and Obasi would drift to the left, allowing him to drift into the middle where we could all see him at his lethal best. |
