Any one heard about the star tv a chinese firm in partnership with our NTA? they are still test running, they are selling their receiver/decoder and they keep changing their channel selections. If you have other info on these new tv let us share here, I learnt they will charge as low as 1,000 per month and that they have a special card for french lover channel - adult channel (not confirmed) Anyway wht do you guys think will it be better than other pay tv? cheaper of cos. These channels are still being updated, i heard they are talking wif hitv for some soccer channels, all these for between N1,000 and N1,800 .

Does it work any where?

I dnt have any trust in the pay tv groups. They first use deception to penetrate in the market&later increase subscription fees gradually. Hitv startd wit 3k now 6k. Dstv from 3k now to about 10K. This guys 2k now&by the time they get football from hitv theyll ask for 5k

Its a Chinese company in patnership with our NTA, its presently operating in LAGOS  and ABUJA and the plan is to get it across the whole country. You can see there are lots of our local stations there and NTA has as many as 4 to 5 in their listing including nta sports, nta news, nta abuja, nta lagos etc.

They are actually spreading all over africa, and this might be another chinese investment in africa. cctv 4 and 9 are likely to be left for free in their bouquet, since its china one thing you can be sure of is that its going to be cheap.

Is their coverage Nation wide ?

For now, dey cover Lagos and some part of Ogun State. Thier mission is to cover the entire country.

Mine is not working as well, i learnt they are going to have a diffrent card/subscription for that channel alone (unconfirmed) , they say its meant for hotels u know its adult channel. I think we need more info on this and some of their services, let their marketers come and tell us about them in details.

only for naija na im pple dey sell mkt w/o lettin pple know d hows/where/how much.let their be a blog or site where we can get tangible,verifiable info.

De actually did some promo at Ikeja, selling their decoder for as low as 8,500. I wonder why they didn't have a website for all this yet. Anyway they are still test running sha, lets hope buy the time they come on stream, all will be put in place.

I learnts authoritatively that the government has banned them from releasing that frenchlover channel to the public. So as it is now it has been blocked, and it is not showing on their receivers. Those of you who have it on w2a may be receiving it though. In fact they change the name of the channel to HOTEL CHANNEL or something related, indicating that they may only make it available for hotels or so, but the government has stepped in and banned it from homes. Thats the last i heard, but am sure its not the final, if I know chinese coy very well, it may even be their midas touch in this whole thing.
