The Obi of Owa whom I met this year is completely contrary to what that boy claims.

I found this annoying! I remember when we were doing our first anniversary in church each tribe, had to sing their languages. My pastor told the Deltans to stand up and he asked them which language do they speak. One guy said he is Delta Igbo not Koi Koi Igbo. In my opinion, if u speak the same language, then what is the difference?

They are Igbo and have always been Igbo. Infact, Delta Igbo people were angry with colonial adminstration for separating them with their kins in 1935. That was followed by demonstrations here and there in colonial quarters.
Though 5% differ as a result of Bini influence and nearness. One of them is even here chatting crap all the time.
Have a look at their motto below:

If it were to be in the olden days, surely the Obi of Owa whom I met in person this year would have beheaded Agbontaen for all the insults he reigns on the Ika and Igbo people.

Is it only demonstration? What about the several hundred years of the 'Western' Igbo fighting off the Edo Empire only for some bastarrds to come and start sucking their testis?

Hmm. . . well then, to me, that guy speaks ñarna ñarna Igbo.

I honestly have no idea. Never heard of "koi koi" before, but if I had to guess, I'd say that, either 1) "koi koi" might mean "core/real/true" or 2) "koi koi" might be light mockery. . . maybe. Don't quote me on it.

The pic here is from Iri JI in London 2010. This event brings the Igbo together. Members of Ika Union London were there with their fellow Igbo people to celebrate this festival.

americans speak english , but they are not english people, cubans speak spanish , but they are not spanish people , brazil speaks purtuguese ,but they are not purtuguese people , please you people should wake up, my owa dialect of ika is mixed with igbo , bini and ishan , so it is uniquely ika .and if you do not speak it you are not ika period.and ika blood does not flow in you . a group of people whose only historical link to a people is their claim of language and nothing else should wake up and if the chips are down an average ika man know an igbo man is not an ika man ,and will always, distance himself from them. and that is just the reality .ikas have spoken , dont you notice the long distance most ika men give to igbos ? go to an interrior of ika land , say in alisimiie or uvere or omumu and you will be shocked at how the village men and women will quickly distinguish between an ika person and an igbo person.we are not the same dont you get it ? our lifestyles and ideology as a race is different.
i am proud to be ika and i can proclaim it any where , i know our history and will do whatever it takes to preserve our ika culture .

this seams like a bitter filled comment.

by the way i heard the people championing anioma state are not sure about the stance of the ika because they said your politicians are sellouts.

A looser will always be a looser. If you are intelligent as you claim, why not make references to my post?. Are you blind enough to the pictures I have been posting here highlighting how Igbo people are united in London.
I earlier wrote that I was in a meeting with your Obi-The Obi of Owa this summer in South west London and he revealed his passion for his Igbo kins.
I also congratulated members of Ika Town Union who celebrated Iri Ji with us in London last 16/10/2010.
Once again, I challenge you to face me on this issue than posting the same crap all the time. Does that not bore you?.

I was banned because I posted Ika history. Obviously admin is supporting him and trying to hide the truth.

This is the problem with trying to use linguistics to justify identity claims (this goes to both sides of this argument). See the bolded, where you messed up Agbotaen. My blood aunt (Ngwa woman) is married to an Ika man, family name is Nosagbe. He and all of his siblings do not speak Ika. By the bolded; your line of thought, they are not Ika. Then, also following your line of thought, anyone who speak Ika could be qualified as an Ika person. . but you and I both know that things don't work that way.

Ika-hood is not about linguistics, so don't use it to justify your claim, because what you're saying applies to virtually all other Igbo groups. The "languages" we speak are unique to our peoples. We are as different to one another as Ika is to "Igbo". So, understand this, I (although, I can't speak for the others here) have no problem with your claims of distinction, just so long as you do ONE THING. . . Do Not Group The Rest Of Us Into One and attempt to use linguistic as a means to justify your grouping. Ika is not the only group with claims to distinction. So you cannot realistically make any claims of distinction, while grouping all other groups, who also have claims to distinction, into one.

agbotaen:

a group  of people whose only  historical link  to  a people is their claim of language and nothing  else should wake  up and  if the  chips  are down an  average ika man know an  igbo  man is not  an ika man ,and will always, distance himself from them. and that  is just the reality .ikas have spoken , dont you notice the long distance most ika  men give to igbos ? Just like how my people naturally distinguish between an Ngwa and an Ohnuhnu (oh yes, you Ika, included). None of us are "the same", don't you get it? Similar, or related, YES, but not the same.

agbotaen:

i am proud to be  ika and  i can proclaim it  any where , i know our history and will do whatever it  takes to  preserve  our ika culture .
Just as I am a proud Ngwa son, and I can will proclaim it anywhere. I know our history and will do what I can to secure my people, as a loyal son. . . and being an Igbo person hasn't killed that, and it won't kill you either. I understand your sentiment, but dang. . at least make an effort to understand this side of the argument. Make an effort to understand that no one is out to kill your Ika-hood.

@Chinenye: I think you have settled this matter. My problem with him here is that this same rubbish he vomited today has been done before, and tomorrow, he will type the same thing. Something must be wrong with him.
