It would have made more sense to bring on Torres.

One massive problem we have is that we have made a habit of investing in the first 11 and neglecting the squad.
We bring on a player and it's a shocking difference in ability.
Why are they there in the first place.

Wigan brought on two forwards and gave it a real go - that's why things worsened. The biggest threat was Sturridge and he should not have been taken off. Mata was as useless as Lampard in this particular game.

Actually, both sides created 9 chances each so I think a draw is just fair.

Like I said, it depends heavily on what happens in January.
We may not replace Anelka and Alex with quality signings.
Even if we do, unless they are Mata, there is no guarantee they will walk straight into the team.

However if we don't do serious business in January (and by serious business, I don't necessarily mean spending buck loads - just quality signings), we "DEFINITELY" won't be contending for the title.  

There will be off days for the likes of Mata, Danny, Ramires and Romeu.
I kid you not, without these four guys being in top form every single minute of the season, we will struggle to beat Bolton.
You know though, that those four are never going to be up for it every time.
That's why we will not be in contention for the title.

And trust me, I am a positive person.
