Religion / Re: Please Help!! How Do I Genuinely Give My Life To Christ? by nkechiasogwa(f): 1:52pm On Oct 11, 2020
Get to a quiet corner and consciously confess all your sins. Ask God through our LORD Jesus Christ to deliver you from the flesh and sin, asking for grace not to go back to them. Tell Jesus that today you formerly and eternally accept Him as your personal Lord and Saviour through His precious blood, that your name be erased from the book of death and hell and be written in the book of Life. Ask God for grace to carry out any necessary restitution you may need to do. Ask God to increase your hatred for sin, self, the world system and of course the devil. Lastly join a Bible believing church and join the Bible study and prayer group to help you grow your faith in Christ. With these you are a true believer with eternal life. Also know that if you sin unknowingly after this, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous. Confess your sins to Jesus and ask for grace to forsake them and you shall obtain mercy. As you do these, it is well with you.

God bless you abundantly for your comment.
ThetrueWord:
Sad! But all marriages have challenges but not all tell the world about them. We should learn to manage our homes.

A man is supposed to Love his wife as Christ loves the church but how is he supposed to do that, if he does not know how Jesus loved the church.

Before you get married

1. Seek God's direction
2. Marry someone who loves God
3. You should love God and be lost in him, that your spouse will have to seek God to find you.
4. Read books and attend seminars on marriage(Prepare for marriage)
5. Pray and keep praying.

Mr righteousness, please when you preach let people understand that it is genuine love for Jesus Christ that should constrain or persuade them to repent not just the fear of hell fire. It is love that conquers all things not fear. Don't wait to see a bad post on nairaland and then use such opportunity to preach repentance because of the fear of death and hell fire, rather preach the love of Jesus Christ which led him to die for mankind at all times. To persuade people to repent out of fear of death and hell fire instead of out of love for the LORD Jesus is to raise fearful christians. May the LORD Jesus grant you understanding.

Health / Re: Are You Drinking Enough Water? 6 Signs You Need To Drink More Water by nkechiasogwa(f): 8:28pm On May 17, 2020
Very educative. Thanks for sharing.
gideonjeta:
The human body needs water on a daily basis as it loses water every day even when the body hasn’t done anything stressful. The amount of water lost by the body varies depending on your activity levels and climatic conditions.

One good fact however is that the body is tuned to tell you whether you need to replenish your water reservoir. The easiest way to judge if your body needs water is how thirsty you are.

Water is needed for good health and there is no replacement for water. Most studies show that about two in three people are dehydrated and need to drink more water. It is necessary to understand the subtle signals that your body sends, indicating you need to drink more water.

1. Hunger even though you’ve recently eaten
2. Joint aches
3. Dull, dry skin and/or definite wrinkles
4. Infrequent urination; and/or constipation
5. The color of your urine is an important marker. Dark urine indicates a need to drink more water
6. Exhaustion and/or mood swings

In addition to thirst, it is also important to look at the color of your urine. You should be drinking enough water to turn your urine a light-colored yellow. Dark-colored urine is a sign that your kidneys are retaining fluids in order to maintain your bodily functions, which includes detoxification. As a result, your urine will seem highly concentrated and dark in color. You may also urinate less frequently, for the same reason. Since the thirst mechanism tends to become less efficient with age, older adults need to pay more careful attention to the color of their urine to ensure adequate water intake. Incidence of urination can also be used to judge your water intake. A healthy person urinates on average about seven or eight times a day. If your urine is limited or if you haven’t urinated in several hours, that too is an indication that you’re not drinking enough fluids.

There’s no doubt that you need water for good health. A simple effort of substituting all the sweetened, bottled beverages you indulge in with regular pure water can go a long way towards improving your health. It works wonders to help you manage your weight too. The amount of water your body needs, however, is something you need to fine-tune based on your individual circumstances. It is necessary to understand the body requirements and the obvious signals that it’s high time to replenish your fluids.

Hello Employer, my candid advice is for you to sack her immediately. She neither appreciates her job nor respect you as her employer. Sacking her will help both her and yourself. It will help you because you will have the opportunity of hiring someone, who will better appreciate this job, and put in his or her best productively. This will in turn boost your business. It will help her because by the time she sits at home jobless for sometime, she will by then, truly regret her actions, learn from her mistake and appreciate the next job offer she gets. No matter how competent she is, attitude to one's job is key. Besides if you do a careful search, you will still find someone who is far more competent and willing to accept her salary range, and with better attitude.

Travel / Re: FG Places Travel Restrictions On Ministers, Others by nkechiasogwa(f): 9:00pm On Dec 30, 2019
Buhari should start with himself. He travels more than any other person. Much of the trips he goes abroad on government expense are unnecessary. When he places travel restriction on himself and stick to it , we will know he truly means well for Nigeria. If he cannot treat himself the way he treats others even in this regard, he is just a deceiver and hypocrite.

CaptainMeks:

Your post below and the parts of interest

You saw your own death before he had his accident which was when you stubbed your foot and fell and he could not lift you up. He however died unknowingly in your place.

If you had gone out with him on that day he died, you would have been the one the truck would have hit and killed and not him.

So he took your place

The part where he wore the clothe in reverse that is inside out shows what happened to him was not meant for him but for you. Indeed he took your place.

However this is not the end.

Issues like this point at a pattern. Both of you were very close and have obviously done a lot together. Some good, some bad. It is possible that when a certain bad was done by both of you it attracted the fury of someone diabolical who wants both of you gone but you were supposed to be first.

You are being warned to be very careful. the danger is not over, only delayed.

My advice of earlier still stands. Seek God in prayer. The dark hand laid over your life has to be removed.

Sit down and think and i know you will understand a lot of what i said especially at the parts i put in bold.

God uphold you

Frankly speaking Aisha Buhari has problem. It seems like she is mentally deranged. Why is she having problem with everybody? She is so unaccomodating and intolerant. The other time, it was Mamman Daura and his daughters, now it's Shehu Garba. She will soon turn to someone else. The same social media she is full supporting it's regulation, is what she keeps coming back to, just to earn sympathy from Nigerians. She speaks up only when it affects her personally. Someone should please tell Aisha that prices of food items are terribly so high, VAT has been increased to 7.2% effective by next year, Her husband's government has plunged Nigeria into greater debts. Not One of Buhari's campaign promises have been fulfilled. Yet these and much more are not her concerns, it is Garba Shehu or Mamman Daura not allowing her answer or function as First Lady that is her head ache. Dear Nigerians Aisha Buhari does not have your interest at heart, she is only fighting for her own personal interest. She proved it the day she campaigned for Yahaya Bello. As for all the sufferings Nigerians are going through under this government, this too shall pass. God who delivered Nigeria in the time of Abacha shall do it again.

Where was Wole Soyinka when Nnamdi Kanu's bail was ignored, where was he when Nnamdi Kanu's family house was being desecrated by the military?

Why is Soyinka even complaining against a government whose emergence he actively worked for?
The chicken has come home to roost and they've begun whipping up empathy.

I refuse to buy in and it is simple.
I won't weep for you when your house is on fire if you didn't weep for me when mine was.

No way,

Sowore should pay the price for inciting a revolution against the government of the day out of animosity for not making the ministerial list.
The APC made it clear that they were not going to run a Government of National Unity, so what is Sowere's grouse?

Is it also a coincidence that his call for revolution came after the ministerial list was released?

We have better things like Allen Onyema and Air Peace to worry about and I find it rather paradoxical that our dear Professor has not made a comment on the ordeals of Allen Onyema.

Soyinka dines with the people he criticizes and laughs to their faces, accepts their awards and shows up for their invitations.
Visits their official residences and takes happy photographs with them. Worse even, he allows his children to serve under them.

Aside not being as literally sound, this two-faced nature is one of the reasons he will never be half the man Chinua Achebe was.

Chinua Achebe made his stand on issues unequivocally clear without any hues of grey, he turned down National awards based on personal principles, he never fraternized with people he believed made the country worse off and most importantly, he spoke out irrespective of whose ox it was that was being gored.

Wole Soyinka may have the unmerited award, but Achebe is the laurel itself.

How can the same people who said they couldn't trust Nigeria in the hands of Atiku "the looter" and "Made in China" Obi now complain that Nigeria is finished under their Mr. Intergrity and his Professor of Law vice?

No way.
Lalasti.clala please tell them that we must get to our Next Level, nobody is jumping off this ship.

Celebrities / Re: Busola Dakolo: Never Stop Voicing Out Against Rape And Sexual Abuse by nkechiasogwa(f): 7:42pm On Nov 17, 2019
Busola, the question begging for answer is this: why did it take you over 20 years after the incident happened to report this matter? This is something you ought to have reported immediately it happened. Exposing the man of God to ridicule will not bring you healing. If you are a true Christian, look up to Jesus for true healing over this, not going to the court. It is possible that the man of God has pleaded with God to forgive him, and received mercy and forgiveness from the LORD, and here you are fighting whom God may have shown mercy and forgiven. You may only be wasting your time and resources in doing this. Rape cases are to be reported immediately not after over 20 years when it happened, if really it happened. God alone knows your true motive of bringing up this issue now, for He alone searches the Human heart so deeply and all our deepest thoughts and intents are laid bare before Him. Busola I counsel you to please look to Jesus for your healing not the Human court of law, who cannot judge nor condemn a man whom the Heavenly court of Justice may have declared not guilty. I strongly condemn rape wherever it is found and pray no female experiences this henceforth. #shalom

Since Buhari has been the most mentioned name in Nigeria this past year, I think Oxford Dictionary should consider creating a space for him in the dictionary.

Buhari: /boo-ha-ree/ adjective: hard, difficult, painful , troublesome, harsh, wicked, liar, bad, thief.
.Verb: Buhari.
. Past Tense: Buharied
. Present Continuous: Buharying
. Present Perfect: Buharise
E.g:
... Some girls always like to buharise things,
.
... The test was Buharistic,
.
... I had a very Buharied week.
# Buhari: To complicate, make things worse, unbearable.
E.g:

... The only way to reduce applicants is to Buharify the process.
... How was your exam? It was Buharific !!
Career / Re: Top 7 Reasons Why Degree Holders Are Poor by nkechiasogwa(f): 10:20am On Oct 22, 2019
Wow! Many thanks to the writer of this article you have just said the absolute truth. God will help all graduates to look beyond their certificates, recognize and seize opportunities maximally.
vikosima:

“If somebody offers you an amazing opportunity, but you are not sure you can do it, say yes- then learn how to do it later!”- Richard Branson

SCHOOL rewards people for their memory. Life rewards people for their creativity and ability to solve problems.

School rewards caution, life rewards daring. School hails those who live by the rules, life exalts those who break the rules and set new ones.

Being top of your class does not necessarily guarantee that you would be at the top of life. The world is filled with poor graduates, but rich opportunists.

Kevin Ngo said: “If you don’t make the time to work on creating the life you want, you are eventually going to be forced to spend a lot of time dealing with a life you don’t want.”

Your certificates and degrees are meant to help you garner the experience and expertise needed to fulfill your dreams; they are not your destination.

I have watched pitiably many graduates with degrees and certificates languishing in poverty looking for jobs that don’t exist, while people with keen eyes for opportunities reach the pinnacle of success in the most unlikeliest of ways.

Do you have a graduate or degree holder around you that is poor? I bet you have, as they are everywhere.

I have a very painful truth to dish out to graduates out there: Your degree or certificate is not the cure to poverty; the cure to poverty is your ability to see and seize opportunities.

There are seven reasons why degree holders are poor.

*#1 They Don’t Think Beyond Their Certificates*
Albert Einstein said: “Education is not the learning of facts, but the training of the mind to think.” Have you ever heard of the creativity term, “think outside the box?”

One of the major reasons why most graduates are poor is simply because they cannot see and think beyond their certificates. I have seen engineering graduates work as bankers.

I have seen medical doctors with great skills in web and graphic designs. I have seen lawyers that are very dexterous with finances. The list is endless.

The basic truth of life is that the skills needed to be much sought after and become more successful in life are not really found within the walls of the classrooms.

Your certificate is just a proof that you are teachable; it does not suggest what you are totally capable of doing.

You are full of possibilities when you think beyond your degrees and certificates.

*#2 They Prioritise Their Certificates More Than Their Gifts And Talents*
I have often advised some of my mentees never to leave their gifts dormant, while pursuing and hunting for jobs with their certificates. There must be a complementary balance in the pursuit of your passion and the search for jobs.

Everybody is gifted for something, but the winning edge comes from our ability to work on our gifts and bless the world with it. The very best way to develop yourself is in the direction of your natural talents and interest.

To live a fulfilled and impactful life, we need to work harder on our gift than our job. We need to discover our gift, develop it and sell it. Don’t bury your talent with your certificates.

*#3 Their Certificates Prepare Them For A World That No Longer Exist*
It has been found that most of the skills taught in schools are becoming obsolete in the present world. The world has changed a lot and so are people’s needs.

I was in Dubai some few years ago to attend a conference organised by the British Council, with the theme, ‘Education Fit For The Future: Planning For A Changing World.’

It is poignant to know that the present form of education does not prepare students for the future. Graduates are becoming endangered species in the face of a changing world.

Our archaic methods and approaches of learning are preparing graduates for a world that no longer exist, as we are churning out degree holders every year with certificates that have face value, but no intrinsic worth.

Most institutions are filled up with lecturers and pseudo-educators with lecture notes, methods and approaches that have lost relevance in a changing world.

*#4 They Know Less About Themselves But More About Things*
Certificates and degrees don’t reveal people to themselves; they at most measure our IQ (Intelligent Quotient).

I have often told people that there is no recovery without discovery. A poor man is simply someone that has not discovered himself.

The more you discover yourself, the more you realise the treasures hidden deep within you.

We carry inside ourselves latent treasures that can only be unveiled through self-discovery.

*#5 Certificates And Degrees Can Kill Initiatives*
Degrees and certificates can close up your minds to ideas, while initiatives open it up.

If you are not careful, your degrees and certificates can close up your mind. The purpose of education is to keep your mind perpetually opened towards limitless possibilities.

Fred Smith saw an opportunity for overnight delivery of anything anywhere in the United States (US) and ultra-fast delivery anywhere in the world, and FedEx was born.

It will be interesting to know that Fred Smith got a grade “C” in a Yale economics class for an idea that the professor belittled as unworkable.

Smith’s company became the first American business to make over $10billion in annual profit.

Beginning with just 186 packages delivered the first night, FedEx now delivers in over 200 countries using over 6,030 aircraft, 46,000 vehicles and 141,000 employees.

*#6 Degrees And Certificates Position You To Look For Jobs And Not For Opportunities*
Our certificates and degrees prepare graduates to look for jobs and not open their eyes to life-changing opportunities.

You are not poor because you don’t have a job; you are poor because you are not seeing and seizing opportunities.

Being POOR is simply Passing Over Opportunities Repeatedly. What keeps people ahead in life is not their education or degrees; it is simply the opportunity that they seized.

Jobs may be scarce, but not opportunities. As long as there is a problem to be solved, there will always be opportunities.

It is a waste of our education, exposure and experiences if after we graduate from school, all we think about is searching for job.

An enlightened and educated mind should be able to see and seize opportunities.

*#7 Certificates And Degrees Prepare People To Look For Security And Not To Take Risks*
We must be willing to make mistakes and take breakthrough risks. Taking risks and learning from mistakes help us in knowing what works and what do not.

When Thomas Edison was being questioned by a mischievous journalist on how he felt for having failed for 999 times before getting the idea of the light bulb, his response stunned the whole world when he confidently said: “I have not failed 999 times; I have only learnt 999 ways of how not to make a light bulb.”
-----++++----+++------------++
Many graduates and degree holders are becoming progressively poor because the skills required in the modern world to get rich are not taught in schools and institutions.

By 2025, we would lose over five million jobs to automation. That means that future jobs would look vastly different by the time many people graduate from the university.

Future jobs would involve knowledge creation and innovation, and people that are only equipped with skills found in the classroom would become Obsolete.

Pretty sad to not only be at the verge of losing your only brother but also be at the verge of losing a family land.

I'd advice you do everything in your power to ensure that your father's land is not lost.
That land alone can transform your lineage.
People back away from land tussles because they are ignorant of the bigger picture.

Besides, the enemy MUST not have a last laugh over a complete victory.

For your brother,
In your best interest and for safety sake.
If he has gone mad, take him to Oye Emene or Ogbete main market and leave him there.

There are so many other mad people there.

Tough decision for someone you love but once a mad person is always a mad person; before he wakes up one night and sends all of you to purgatory before your time.
We've seen several of such cases.
