xreal:The Officers of the Nigerian Customs service are actually the culpable ones here. I keep wondering how we can be talking of underpayment of customs duty. A car comes into the country, the customs tells you how much to pay, you pay the money, give the receipt and the car is given to you. If the money paid is not complete whose fault is it. Why is it difficult for the customs to have the cost of clearance for each car pasted on a site so every one is sure how much needs to be paid for a car? |
Hope the clubbers would not jump down from the moving EFCC vehicle |
It’s not a new development. Federal government staff who are being migrated to the IPPIS platform always have some serious deductions from their take home pay. This same scenario played out in the health sector, and the explanation given at that time was that 1. 8% employee contribution to the pension fund. Is deducted. 2. Contributions to the NHIS is also deducted. 3. Contribution to the National Housing fund is deducted. 4. Correct calculation of the PAYE tax is made and deducted. Most of these deductions were not made from salaries under the GIVMIS platform. In any case the police officers can always chech their pay slips when they are printed and they wld verify the deductions made from their salaries. |
13.48% is not good enough. |
That may not be the most expensive. Take a look at this [img][/img] [img][/img] https://www.nairaland.com/3121358/abuja-man-selling-house-n1.6trillion

The President of the World Bank Group, Jim Yong Kim, said Thursday that the bank had concentrated on the northern region of Nigeria because President Muhammadu Buhari “specifically” requested that it did so. Kim and the Managing Director, International Monetary Fund (IMF), Christine Lagarde, who spoke at separate press conferences in Washington DC, United States, also advised Buhari to invest in initiatives that would enhance economic growth. Kim said, “You know, in my very first meeting with President Buhari he said specifically that he would like us to shift our focus to the northern region of Nigeria and we’ve done that. Now, it has been very difficult. The work there has been very difficult. “I think Nigeria, of course, has suffered from the dropping oil prices. I think things are just now getting better. But the conversation we need to have with Nigeria, I think, is in many ways related to the theme that I brought to the table just this past week, which is investment in human capital. The percentage of the Gross Domestic Product that Nigeria spends on healthcare is less than one percent.” He added, “Despite that, there is so much turbulence in the northern part of the country, and there is the hit that was taken from the drop in the oil prices. Nigeria has to think ahead and invest in its people. Investing in the things that will allow Nigeria to be a thriving, rapidly growing economy in the future is what the country has to focus on right now.” Kim also said, “Focusing on the northern part of Nigeria, we hope that as commodity prices stabilise and oil prices come back up, the economy will grow a bit more. But very, very much important is the need to focus on what the drivers of growth in the future will be.” On the bank’s broader plan for Africa, he said they would invest in human capital in other parts of Africa to prepare the continent for the next phase of growth. In her remarks, Lagarde said Sub-Saharan African countries, including Nigeria’s, had posted sub-optimal growth in recent times. The growth figures, she said, were far too minimal considering the huge demographic potential of Nigeria and other countries in the region. As a result, she said the IMF would be engaging ministers of finance and central bank governors from the region attending the annual World Bank and IMF meetings on how they could best boost and stabilise economic growth. Lagarde said, “The Sub-Saharan Africa is one region of the world where growth is suboptimal. Those countries grow at an average growth of 2.5 per cent. That is too low for the demographic expansion of the region”. The revelation by the World Bank chief will only further solidify the belief by many that President Buhari overwhelmingly favours the North in his government. He will be severely criticized for this move that will be read as maybe one of the surest and most direct proof yet of his plan to prioritize and accelerate development in the Northern region of the country. Many will be quick to recall the president’s comments in the United States last year where he drew a distinction between the regions of Nigeria on account of percentages of votes given him the presidential election, stating that those who gave him only 5% could not expect same treatment as those who gave him 97% of his vote tally, to widespread impassioned reactions. https://www.ripplesnigeria.com/buhari-specifically-asked-us-shift-focus-towards-developing-northern-nigeria-world-bank/ |
I recently purchased a 2013 Toyota Corolla from Cotonou, but the check engine and track off light are on. After scanning I was told that the catalytic converter was removed. Presently, there are no issues with the car, and a full tank takes me about 400 miles before it goes into reserve. That's an average of 30 mpg combined. I want experts in the house to advise if it would be necessary for me to purchase and install the catalytic converter and what the added advantage would be. |

AutoJoshNG:Oftentimes I just wonder how rules and laws are made in this country without thinking things through. The person that compiled this list of 17 items is just looking for a way to collect bribes from motorists. Number 9 and 17 are basically the same thing, as all disposable gloves are latex. Number 6 and 11 are basically the same, plaster and adhesive tapes. I wonder what you need a razor blade for when you have a scissors. Abi is it not to cut things that both of them are used for? What is safety pin doing in the list? To hold body parts together? A splint is a strip of rigid material used for supporting and immobilizing a broken bone when it has been set. It's is usually large and cannot fit into a box like the first aid box. Finally, I wonder why all drivers would be made to have these items in their cars when 95% of the drivers do not know how to use any of them. So what is the essence? |

Up North the roads are relatively good, and a person can go as fast as the car can go. I Currently use a 2013 Corolla, and I was able to push it up to 180km/hr, but that was at nigh on Abuja Airport-City gate road. In the day time you can barely go beyond 140km/hr on that route. I previously used a Nissan Altima, and my usual speed on the Kaduna-Abuja express way was 180-200km/hr. That was when the roads were still good sha. I used to think I was a speed freak till I went on a trip with a military man that was doing 220-240km/hr with a Benz E350 on Zaria-Kano express way. Truth be told my heart was in my mouth throughout the trip. |
deelabs:Thank you so much for the report sent to me. The report actually came to me with a lot of mixed feelings, and that's why I have not confirmed receipt of the mail till now. I bought a 2013 corolla and was very pleased with myself for carrying out such a feat in this recession, but when the car arrived it was not as clean as I would have expected for such a recent car, and that was why I asked for the history check from you. From the report, I was able to deduce that the vehicle was a salvaged vehicle which was involved in an accident and repaired before being shipped out of the US. Using the auction number from your report, I was able to view pictures of the vehicle prior to the repair. I was heart broken by the pictures I saw. Going forward I will make sure I research any car prior to purchase. Thank you so much for the good work, and please keep it up. |

Lets wait for 24 hours first. If this news item is not refuted by the presidency, then we can take it to be true. |
Reject the pregnancy. it is a setup that would not even be able to hold water. Its not possible to know that she is pregnant a week after sex, as it takes the body about 10 days for the hormonal manifestations to set in, which is what is normally tested for during pregnancy. just laugh at her and tell her to go to hell. |
Hehehehehe. Looks like cooked up bullshit as far as I am concerned. |

mysterious12: The blood serum of an alligator is very immune to lots of bacteria, viruses etc. A test was carried out to compare the humans serum and the alligator serum. Each of this serum was imposed on 25 strains of bacteria, the human serum killed 8, and the alligator serum killed all the strains of the bacteria. What am arriving at, is that the alligator has survived the fittest for millions of years(Charles Darwins theory), and their immune system is ferocious it can cure HIV even, so why wouldn't it cure Ebola. Do not leave my thesis unheeded, I am 95% sure if not 100% this will be an effective cure (positive) for Ebola.Don't know about your source but from your write up its obvious that you have very little knowledge of immunology. The tests you talked about on the 25 bacteria species was in the test tube. What happens in real life when the serum of an alligator is introduced into a human is that the serum would kill the human being much faster than it would even kill the bacteria because of the sevare hypersensitivity reaction. That is the same reason why blood from other humans who are of the same species sometimes react and gives a terrible reaction, much less that of an alligator from a different family of animals |
Kindly read the link to get the full story. The truth about the whole incident is that the Americans are not telling us the whole truth. How come its only after americans became infected that the 'experimental drug' suddenly became available? How come they approved experimental drugs for use in humans? How come the drug was so effective? Why did they not try the drugs on the Africans? Men, this people should stop taking us for a ride. Our colour may be black, but our brains are 'not that black' |
