Lol I understand what you mean and I understand why people are scared but my business is registered with the corporate affairs commission with all the needed documents for identification so there's really nothing to be scared of besides by law you cant be held accountable for another's misdeeds simply because of a reference form. Its just mere formality and also a measure to scare off those with criminal intents. And judging by the way people are scared of signing for others means the measure is actually working. People even pay their account officers to source for references so what's the deal?? Is it not strangers that will finally end up signing it? So what's the difference?? People just tend to have fear of the unknown and that's one of the things hindering the progress of this country

You can use other means to get your money to your bank like remitly just google it...This is the Officialefcc era it is better to be safe than sorry.

BRO you got nothing to be worried about i got a business name registered with the Corporate affairs Commission with all the necessary documentation,affidavit proof of identity etc this is just a formality measure put in place to frustrate up coming entrepreneurs or like u said maybe to entice prospecting customer desperate for the account to sort them(bank officials)

Yes with regards to the 6months it's actually refers to the reference account minimum of six months of being active. It's a business account and its already registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission with all the needed paperwork, tax identification number, proof of identity etc so you don't have anything to be worried about the reference is merely formality as the bank officials normally waive it off for people who sort them

You should try if you have access to GAPS-lite.

I can't remember if it was the mobile app or internet banking I used but I know I opened my domiciliary account myself without going to the bank. Although, I have a current account. Maybe you should try those media if you could be successful.

Just to update you, the referee does not have to be a GT user. I have GT dormiciliary using First bank and Union Bank users as referee

Fellow Nigerians, i have been trying to open a domiciliary account with GTBank for the past 2weeks now but i have been unable to get 2 references with either a current or domiciliary account with GTBank and all efforts have proved abortive.
