NYSCWe Killed ‘kaduna Corper’ Because Of A Girl — Adamu Jibril by nyscstories(op): 11:10am On Nov 08, 2016
Adamu Jibril, the suspect arrested in connection with the killing of Lawal Auwal Kontagora, a serving National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) member in kaduna State, said the corper was killed to stop him from dating a girl his friend wanted to go out with.
Jibril, 22, who lives in Malali, while speaking with newsmen in Kaduna, said his friend, Aminu Bahago approached him to help him confront a man he suspected to be dating a girl he had interest in.
“He said I should come and accompany him to the guy and I told him I wouldn’t want us to waste time there because I don’t want to be out for long in the night. He went in, carried a gun and a knife and gave me the knife.
“When we got to the place he showed me the guy from a distance, as we approached the car he knocked on the door of the car as it was locked.
“The guy then opened the car and Aminu sat in front with him and the guy asked us what we want from him before Aminu started reminding him that he is dating his girl friend, then Aminu drew him out of the car and Aminu told me that I should stab the guy with the knife, I stabbed the guy at the back and after stabbing him, Aminu shot the guy with the gun on his leg.”
The Police Command in Kaduna on Saturday said it had arrested Jibrin in connection with the killing of the NYSC member.
The command’s Public Relation Officer, ASP Aliyu Usman, said the police recovered six loaded cartridges, two knives, two cutlasses, a double barrel and one Samsung phone in Jibril’s room.
Kontagora recently returned to Nigeria after completing his studies from a Malaysian university to do the compulsory one year NYSC programme before he was killed.

One word for this guy.

InvestmentYoung Graduate Sets Up Fufu Processing Outfit Worth N75,000, Employs Workers by nyscstories(op): 2:27pm On Nov 04, 2016
NB: This story was initially posted on Vanguard Website . (http://www.vanguardngr.com/2016/11/young-graduate-sets-fufu-processing-outfit-worth-n75000-engages-3-workers/)

A young university graduate, Mr Wilson Ekeledirichukwu, who set up a fufu processing plant valued at N75,000, at Ihiagwa, near Owerri, said he established the outfit in order to be self-employed and also create jobs. Ekeledirichukwu, a graduate of animal science from the Federal University of Technology Owerri (FUTO), spoke in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), on Friday in Owerri.

NAN reports that fufu is a local delicacy, made from fermented cassava and is popularly eaten by many Nigerians, especially people from the Southern and North-Central Nigeria.

“As an undergraduate, I resolved that I will be among Nigerians to create jobs and not those looking for jobs that are not easily available in this country now.

"After my National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) programme in Oyo State between 2014 and 2015, I first ventured into paint production but discovered that the project required much capital,’’ he said. Ekeledirichukwu said that he finally settled for the processing of fufu, adding that the equipment for the fufu processing cost him about N75, 000.

He said that the ‘’ uniqueness of our fufu is that it has no odour,’’ adding that rather than the local method of pounding fufu, his outfit “uses turning method and gas cooker to process the product.’’

According to him, he has been supplying fufu to restaurants in his alma mater, Federal University of Technology, Owerri,(FUTO), Federal Polytechnic, Nekede, Owerri and growing number of customers. Ekeledirichukwu put the staff strength of the outfit at three, with N15,000 each monthly salary.

He said that his intention was to established a food processing firm with capacity to engage over 100 workers. “If I sustain the income margin I am making now, I hope to establish my dream business before long.’’

“I feel that there are vast opportunities to tap by the young and energetic Nigerians, all that is needed is for people to have entrepreneurial spirit to drive their vision.’’

This is not only fascinating but also inspiring to see a corp member looking so radiantly dressed in her uniform alongside her cute and handsome looking boy. It’s quite nice how she’s able to double up with the tasking of serving and also caring for both herself and her son.
These pictures tell a story of how possible it is to care for yourself, the ones you love and your country at the same time. Who says you can’t multitask?

NYSCFree Accommodation For NYSC Members In Jigawa State by nyscstories(op): 9:56am On Oct 21, 2016
The Jigawa state government has said promised to construct lodges for the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members in each of the 27 local government areas of the State in 2017.

The Head of the State Civil Service (HoS), Alhaji Muhammad Inuwa, said this Thursday after meeting with the executives of the state chapter of the Muslim Corps members Association of Nigeria (MCAN) in Dutse, the Jigawa state capital.

He said the lodges would be 10 bedrooms each to be situated in the headquarters of the councils.

Inuwa said government decided to build the lodges considering the accommodation challenge faced by NYSC members serving in the state.

He said government had directed the 27 LGAs to make budgetary provision for the project in their 2017 budget.

Head of the association, Malam Muktar Yakubu, appealed to the state government to assist them with a bus for easy mobilisation and discharge of their duties.
