Sports / Ac Milan 4-1 Monza Highlights (video) by Oladisquare: 7:46pm On Oct 22, 2022
Brahim Diaz with brace, Divock Origi netted his first for AC Milan and Rafael Leao was on target as they cruised to victory over Monza.
The Spanish midfielder lit up the game in the 16th minute with a Lionel Messi-esque driving run taking the ball from the centre circle into the area then stretching to poke the ball home.

His second saw him take a square ball from Origi with his marker, then turn his marker and blast an unstoppable drive into the net.

Unfortunately he left the field clutching his glute in the second half which hopefully will not keep him out of club and international action for very long.

Origi then scored his first goal for Milan with an absolute rocket into the top right hand corner midway through the second half.

Filippo Ranocchia pulled a goal back with a free kick from 30 yards with twenty minutes remaining before a typical Theo Hernandez driving run down the left flank ended with a pull back for Rafael Leao to calmly slam past the goalkeeper.

The win puts Milan level on points with leaders Napoli before they play at Roma on Sunday...

Sports / Manchester City 3-1 Brighton Highlights (download Video) by Oladisquare: 6:18pm On Oct 22, 2022
Manchester City defeat Brighton 3-1 to move close to Arsenal as Erling Haaland strikes twice to bounce back to his scoring form.

After a frustrating time of things at Anfield a week ago, Haaland continued his remarkable record on home soil as he made it 12 goals

in his first five Premier League matches at the Etihad.

It’s 17 in all in the league, six short of Heung-min Son and Mohamed Salah’s total last season as they shared the Golden Boot.

The latest two from Haaland came in the first-half and although Leandro Trossard halved the deficit after the break as the Seagulls piled on the pressure.

Kevin De Bruyne restored the two-goal advantage with a stunning finish as City moved a point behind Arsenal at the top of the table.

It was a relatively even start at the Etihad, both sides looking comfortable in possession without creating anything in the way of clear-cut chances.

Haaland went down after beating Robert Sanchez to the ball, only for the referee and

VAR to dismiss those appeals, but the Norwegian had to wait barely a minute before his goal did come.

Ederson punted a wonderful ball over the top with Haaland again too quick for Sanchez and,

once Adam Webster had just been bounced to the floor, the City striker rolled the ball into the empty net.

His and City’s tally was doubled just before the break, as Bernardo Silva this time went down in the box.

No penalty was given and play continued for a significant amount of time, before the referee eventually halted proceedings as he went over to look at the monitor.

He returned to point to the spot, and Haaland did the rest despite Sanchez going the right way.

Brighton were much the better side immediately after the break, though Riyad Mahrez had the chance to put the match to bed as Sanchez produced a good save with his feet.

That proved a costly miss seconds later when the Seagulls halved the deficit,

Trossard hammering a strike past Ederson at the near post to end Brighton’s long run without a goal.

The visitors pushed for an equaliser and looked by far the more dangerous of the two sides,

Trossard driving into box as he looked for his second but this time Ederson was up to the task.

With nerves starting to build, De Bruyne stepped up to restore control and effectively put the match to bed.

Bernardo found the Belgian, who from 25 yards out whipped a sensational finish into the top corner to bring an immediate halt to the Brighton charge...

Sports / Nottinham Forest 1-0 Liverpool Highlights (download Video) by Oladisquare: 2:46pm On Oct 22, 2022
Nottingham Forest displayed wonderful performance to spoiled Liverpool recent happiness thanks to alone goal from Awoniyi.

Taiwo Awoniyi, who left Liverpool in 2021 without making a competitive appearance,

hit the winner from close range after his initial attempt came back off a post.

Liverpool were a long way from their best – Virgil van Dijk wasted their best chance – and remain without an away league win this season.

Forest could have won by a more handsome margin, with Morgan Gibbs-White’s effort

deflected over before substitute Brennan Johnson was denied by Liverpool keeper Alisson.

There were jubilant scenes on and off the pitch at the final whistle as Forest enjoyed their best day since returning to the top flight this season after a 23-year absence..

Sports / Arsenal 1-0 PSV Highlights (download Video) by Oladisquare: 8:24pm On Oct 20, 2022
Arsenal guaranteed a top-two finish in Europa League Group A following a 1-0 win at home to PSV Eindhoven.
The hosts dominated throughout the first half but Gabriel Jesus, Kieran Tierney and Granit Xhaka all failed to make the most of some good situations.

The pattern continued in the second period and after Jesus and Bukayo Saka went close,

the Gunners finally made the breakthrough when Xhaka fired home a Takehiro Tomiyasu’s cross 19 minutes from the end.

The result means Mikel Arteta’s men remain perfect in the pool with 12 points from four matches.

PSV are five points further back in second spot with Bodo/Glimt third on four and Zurich pointless.

Next up, Arsenal visit Southampton in the Premier League on Sunday...

Sports / Elche 0-3 Real Madrid Highlights (download Video) by Oladisquare: 12:25am On Oct 20, 2022
Karim Benzema scored as Real Madrid extended their advantage at the top of La Liga to six points with victory over Elche.
Benzema linked with Rodrygo before slotting home from 18 yards, having seen two earlier efforts ruled out by the Video Assistant Referee.

Marco Asensio scored a third as Real extended their unbeaten start to 10 games.

Real opened up a three-point lead on rivals Barcelona with victory in El Clasico on Sunday, with Xavi’s side having the opportunity to cut the gap when they host Villarreal on Thursday.

Elche sit bottom of La Liga, and it was a tough night from the get-go with Benzema seeing a goal disallowed for offside in the build-up after six minutes.

Valverde’s left-footed strike from outside the area put Carlo Ancelotti’s side ahead after 11 minutes, before David Alaba and Benzema saw efforts disallowed for offside.

It left Benzema to celebrate his fifth league goal of the season by ironically drawing a square like the referee does during a VAR review.

Asensio’s hooked finish rounded off a lovely free-flowing move by Real, who have won nine and drawn one as they seek to retain their league title.

They have won their first six away league games for only the second time, after the 1991/92 campaign.

Sports / Manchester United 2-0 Tottenham Highlights (download Video) by Oladisquare: 12:15am On Oct 20, 2022
Manchester United produced arguably their finest performance under manager Erik ten Hag as Tottenham were swept aside in the Premier League at Old Trafford.
The scoreline does not do justice to United’s vast superiority as only the brilliance of Spurs keeper Hugo Lloris denied them the truly emphatic victory they deserved.

Lloris made five outstanding saves in the first half alone as United rained in 19 shots on the Spurs goal, which somehow remained intact.

Fred finally broke the deadlock two minutes after the break, his shot carrying a degree of good fortune as Lloris was finally beaten by

Ben Davies’ deflection, but it was no more than United deserved for a display high on quality and intensity.

United moved out of sight after 69 minutes when Bruno Fernandes curled a precise right-foot finish beyond the stretching Lloris in front of an ecstatic Stretford End.

Victory keeps Manchester United fifth in the table, eight points behind leaders Arsenal, while Spurs miss the chance to move above Manchester City and stay third..

Sports / Real Madrid 3-1 Barcelona Highlights (download Video) by Oladisquare: 5:42pm On Oct 16, 2022
Karim Benzema scored his 12th El Clasico goal as Real Madrid secured a 3-1 win over Barcelona in a breathless derby at the Bernabeu.

Real madrid broke the deadlock after just ten minutes after Marc-Andre Ter Stegen parried

Vinicius Junior's close range effort into Karim Benzeima's path, leaving the Frenchman with an empty net to aim at from 12 yards.

The visitors took back control with Raphinha causing chaos every time he cut inside,

and Barca should have had the equaliser when his perfect cross found Robert Lewandowski five-yards out at the back post, only for the Polish striker to blaze over in despair.

Barca kept coming at their hosts down the flanks, but against the run of play Real grabbed a second.

Ferland Mendy found Federico Valverde outside the box in plenty of space, and the Uruguayan even had time to tee himself up before rifling home past a diving Ter Stegen.

Frenkie de Jong forced a smart save from Andriy Lunin and Lewandowski headed wide, but Barcelona could not pull a goal back before the break.

Raphina continued to torment the Real backline but the Catalan Giants could not find the quality up front to turn smart build-up play into a goal.

The hosts thought they had killed the game off when Vinicius picked out Benzema on the right flank, with the Frenchman slotting home before the offside flag cut celebrations short.

And as Barca battled on they finally pulled one back as Ansu Fati's cross found Ferran Torres unmarked at the back post, the Spaniard slotting him before racing to the centre circle with the ball in hand.

But it was too little too late for Barcelona, and it was Real who scored the killer goal as substitute Rodrygo went down in the box.

After dusting himself down, he slotted home to ensure three points that saw the champions leapfrog their rivals and go top of La Liga.

Sports / Leeds 0-1 Arsenal Highlights (download Video) by Oladisquare: 5:28pm On Oct 16, 2022
Arsenal secured a hard-fought three points at Leeds United with Bukayo Saka’s goal earning a 1-0 victory on Sunday.

Arsenal were looking to extend their lead at the top of the league while Leeds manager Jesse Marsch knew that a win could take his team to mid-table and take some of the pressure off.

Both sides had to contend with a delay almost immediately after the kick-off, with a power cut forcing a gap of more than 30 minutes before the restart.

Just after half an hour had eventually been played, Saka rifled into the top of the net from an Arsenal counter, but Leeds also had chances.

In the second half, Patrick Bamford thought he had equalised seconds after coming on, but his effort was disallowed for handball.

William Saliba then handballed in the box on 62 minutes and a VAR review led to a penalty, but Bamford stepped up to send it wide.

Arsenal defender Gabriel saw red in injury time when shoved over by Bamford, as the Brazilian

lashed out with his feet against the striker in retaliation, but the referee overturned his own decision on a VAR review, and Mikel Arteta's men held on for the win.

Sports / Manchester United 0-0 Newcastle Highlights (download Video) by Oladisquare: 4:40pm On Oct 16, 2022
Cristiano Ronaldo had two goals disallowed as Manchester United were held to a 0-0 by Newcastle United at Old Trafford.

The Magpies created more chances in an entertaining first-half with Joelinton hitting the

woodwork twice with headers in the space of a few seconds while Callum Wilson had a strong penalty shout when he was tripped by Raphael Varane.

Erik ten Hag, who started Ronaldo, Jadon Sancho and Fred, saw his side eventually find their rhythm and Antony forced Nick Pope into a fine save.

Ronaldo had two goals disallowed in the space of a minute in a bizarre start to the second half.

The Portuguese forward was correctly ruled offside for the first incident.

He was then penalised for nicking the ball off Nick Pope following a Magpies free-kick and putting the ball into an empty net but the referee controversially ruled the ball was still dead.

And Ten Hag's mood towards the officials would not have improved after Sancho was denied a penalty after appearing to be fouled by Sean Longstaff.

Marcus Rashford was brought on for Ronaldo for the final 20 minutes, and missed a sitter in stoppage time with a header from close range,

while Eddie Howe brought on Joe Willock, Matt Targett and Chris Wood but it failed to yield a goal.

The result means United remain fifth in the Premier league table, one place above the Magpies...

Sports / Aston Villa 0-2 Chelsea Highlights (download Video) by Oladisquare: 4:15pm On Oct 16, 2022
Mason Mount strikes twice to steal the show  as Chelsea defeated Aston Villa 2-0 at Villa Park.

The loose heap the more pressure on the under-fire Steven Gerrard.

Chelsea were gifted an early lead after just six minutes to Villa’s dismay, as Tyrone Mings misjudged a headed clearance,

and Mason Mount was in the right place at the right time to latch onto the loose ball and slot it home from inside the box to give the visitors an early advantage.

Villa did not let their heads drop, and for the remainder of the first half, they looked the more

threatening side as they registered a total of 11 attempts, with six of them on target.

The pick of their chances fell to Leon Bailey after 14 minutes, but his close-range header came back off the crossbar.

Kepa Arrizabalaga then kept Chelsea ahead on the half-hour mark with a world-class save to deny Danny Ings, tipping the striker’s header over the bar from point-blank range.

The woodwork was found again just before the break as Raheem Sterling’s curling effort from inside the penalty area rattled against the bar.

However, Chelsea were the side to get the second goal as Mount secured his brace with a

superbly struck free-kick from 25 yards out in the 65th minute to seal an important win for the visitors....

Sports / Torino 0-1 Juventus Highlights (video) by Oladisquare: 3:58am On Oct 16, 2022
Dusan Vlahovic’s strikes earned Juventus victory at city rivals Torino to ease the pressure on manager Massimiliano Allegri.

The 22-year-old Serbia striker tapped home a Danilo knock-down from Juan Cuadrado’s 74th-minute corner to seal victory in a one-sided Turin derby.

Just a fourth league win this season lifted Juventus to seventh in Serie A.

It followed a Champions League defeat by Maccabi Haifa that left them unlikely to reach the knockout stages.

Vlahovic’s close-range finish was all that Juventus deserved after Torino goalkeeper Vanja Milinkovic-Savic produced a string of fine saves to keep the score level.

Despite the derby win, Allegri, who led Juventus to five consecutive Serie A titles from 2015 to 2019 in his first stint as manager,

will continue to face questions after a run of poor results since returning in 2021.

They finished fourth last season and went into the Torino game 10 points behind current leaders Napoli...

Sports / Bodo/glimt 0-1 Arsenal Highlights (download Video) by Oladisquare: 8:09pm On Oct 13, 2022
Bukayo Saka’s strikes again as Arsenal extended their winning run in the Europa League Group A with a 1-0 triumph at Bodo/Glimt.

The Gunners now have nine points and just need one more victory to seal their place in the next round of the competition.

Mikel Arteta named a relatively strong side for the trip to Norway, with Saka, Martin Odegaard, Ben White and William Saliba all included in the starting line-up.

Bodo/Glimt - who famously thrashed Jose Mourinho’s Roma 6-1 last season –

were searching for a remarkable 15th consecutive home victory in Europe – made a bright start but found themselves behind following a tidy Arsenal team move.

After playing an exchange with Albert Sambi Lokonga, Saka gave the visitors a 24th-minute lead with a deflected effort.

But the hosts should have equalised just minutes later when the club’s top goalscorer Amahl Pellegrino was played through on goal but contrived to get his angles badly wrong as he shot wide.

The Norwegian side grew in confidence after the restart and should have been level when Runar Espejord blasted over from inside the box, while Ola Solbakken went close from further out.

Arsenal, like they have done so often this season, managed to grind out victory, even if it wasn’t pretty at times.

The Gunners lead Group A with three wins from three and will progress if they can defeat PSV next Thursday..

Sports / Barcelona 3-3 Inter Milan Highlights (download Video) by Oladisquare: 11:02pm On Oct 12, 2022
Barcelona’s hopes of contesting the Champions League knockout stages hang by a thread after a 3-3 draw with Inter at Camp Nou.

Having been beaten in the San Siro last week, Xavi’s side went into the game knowing that

they realistically needed to win to maintain hope of progressing, with teams on the same points split by their head-to-head record.

The draw leaves Inter – who sit second, behind Bayern Munich who progressed on Wednesday – three points ahead of Barcelona, with both to still play Bayern and Viktoria Plzen.

Barcelona took the lead just before half-time when Raphina did well to keep the ball in,

before threading through for Sergi Roberto, who squared for Ousmane Dembele to tap home.

It cued joyous and extravagant celebrations from boss Xavi and the whole Barcelona dugout but that soon turned to despair in the second half.

Nicolo Barella latched onto an Alessandro Bassani dinked ball and lashed into the roof of the net to pull Inter level,

before Lautaro Martinez chested inside Eric Garcia and his effort hit both posts before going over the line.

It led to a cauldron of noise at the Nou Camp, and that pressure eventually told when Poland striker Robert Lewandowski saw a header fall back at his feet, and his deflected effort squeezed past Andre Onana.

From there the game descended into chaos.

Inter took the lead again as Onana cleared quickly for Martinez, who squared for Robin Gosens to lash home and leave Barcelona out of the competition again.

However, that was not the end of the drama, as Lewandowski rose highest to meet Garcia’s cross from the right and head past Onana and keep the hosts’ hopes alive again.

Inter then had two chances to win it on the break as Kristjan Asllani was put through but Marc-Andre ter Stegen saved with his legs, before Gosens saw a header saved.

Sports / Rangers 1-7 Liverpool Highlights (download Video) by Oladisquare: 10:51pm On Oct 12, 2022
Mohamed Salah hit the fastest hat-trick in Champions League history as Liverpool came from behind to thrash Rangers by 7-1

The hosts struck their first goal in the competition this season on 17 minutes when Scott Arfield was allowed to wander into space through the middle and a rifle a low shot beyond Alisson.

The Merseysiders responded and Firmino headed home a right-wing corner seven minutes later.

Liverpool dominated throughout the second half and Firmino snared his eighth goal of the season to polish off Joe Gomez’s excellent cross on 55 minutes.

Darwin Nunez then made sure of the points with a superb low finish from Firmino’s delightful flick past the hour.

Salah then came off the bench to rub salt in the wounds of the home defenders with a magnificent hat-trick inside seven minutes before Harvey Elliott knocked in a rebound.

The result means Liverpool strengthen their grip on second place in the pool with nine points from four games played.

Napoli are first with 12 points and have qualified for the Last 16. Ajax are third on three while Rangers remain pointless and bow out of the competition.

Sports / Barcelona 1-0 Celta Vigo Highlights (download Video) by Oladisquare: 7:13am On Oct 10, 2022
Pedri scored the winner as Barcelona edged past Celta Vigo to return to the top of La Liga on goal difference.

The 19-year-old reacted quickest to turn home from three yards, after Gavi’s cross from the left was cut out, for his second goal of the season.

It was a disjointed performance from Barca, with Celta pushing after going behind, coming closest when Jorgen Strand Larsen had a header disallowed.

Iago Aspas also saw an effort saved, while Goncalo Paciencia hit a post.

Real Madrid had gone top of the league with a 1-0 win at Getafe on Saturday.

Both sides have won seven and drawn one of their opening eight league games, and face each other in the first El Classico of the season next Sunday.

Barcelona, who have lost two of their opening three Champions League group games, started strongly with former Manchester City winger

Ferran Torres curling wide before summer signings Raphinha and Robert Lewandowski saw efforts saved.

Xavi’s side lacked cohesion and quality for large parts of the game, while Celta improved after going behind but failed to show a clinical edge in the final third to earn a deserved point.

Barcelona have now only conceded one goal in the league so far this season and have kept four clean sheets in four home games...

Sports / Arsenal 3-2 Liverpool Highlights (download Video) by Oladisquare: 6:48pm On Oct 09, 2022
Arsenal moved back to the top of the Premier League table with a thrilling 3-2 victory over Liverpool at the Emirates Stadium.

Going into the game, the Gunners had not tasted success against Jurgen Klopp’s side in any of their previous five meetings against them.

However, all of Arsenal’s pre-match nerves went out of the window within a minute as they took an early lead.

With just 58 seconds on the clock, Gabriel Martinelli latched onto a superb Martin Odegaard through ball, before coolly finishing beyond Alisson from inside the area to shock the visitors.

Liverpool regained their composure and, just after the half-hour mark, they had their leveller,

as Luis Diaz’s cut-back from the right flank was well finished by Darwin Nunez inside the box.

The visitors were then dealt a blow in the fourth minute of first-half stoppage time,

as Martinelli’s low cross was tapped in at the back post by Bukayo Saka to round off a clinical Arsenal counter attack.

In the 53rd minute and against the run of play, Liverpool equalised for the second time in the match, as half-time substitute Roberto Firmino

placed an effort into the far corner from inside the penalty area after a superb through ball from Diogo Jota to play him in.

For the next half hour, Liverpool were on the ropes, and with 15 minutes left on the clock,

Thiago fouled Gabriel Jesus in the box and the Gunners were awarded a late penalty.

Saka calmly slotted the spot-kick into the bottom-left corner of the net to seal a famous win for Arsenal in front of their supporters.

Sports / Ac Milan 2-0 Juventus Highlights (download Video) by Oladisquare: 9:42pm On Oct 08, 2022
AC Milan go level on points with league leaders Napoli in the Serie A table after a comfortable 2-0 win over Juventus.

A close-range strike from Fikayo Tomori and a brilliant solo goal from Brahim Diaz either side of half-time helped Milan ease past a toothless Juve side.

The result, which will pile more pressure on Juventus manager Massimiliano Allegri,

means Juve remain in ninth on 13 points; seven points off Napoli, Atalanta and AC Milan who share the lead at the top.

Juan Cuadrado and Danilo both had vicious driven strikes on the Milan goal which veered narrowly wide in the early stages of a physical contest, but the hosts came back with a vengeance.

Rafael Leao struck the woodwork in the 20th and 34th minute before Tomori gave Milan the lead on the stroke of half-time.

Olivier Giroud's smashed effort from a corner was redirected on goal by Tomori who swivelled and blasted his shot into the roof of the net for his first goal since March.

Diaz extended Milan's lead in the second half with a fine solo goal.

In the 54th minute, the Spaniard picked the ball up in his own half and outpaced two Juve players before slotting his strike beyond Wojciech Szczesny.

It was Milan who looked the more likely to get a third than Juve finding even a consolation goal, but were unable to test Szczesny further in a straightforward win.

Arsenal moved top of Europa League Group A with a straightforward 3-0 win against Bodo/Glimt at the Emirates.

After an emphatic north London derby victory at the weekend, Mikel Arteta’s side came into this game full of confidence.

As expected, though, Arteta made wholesale changes to the side which beat Tottenham, keeping one eye on Arsenal’s big game against Liverpool on Sunday.

Matt Turner swapped in for Aaron Ramsdale in goal, Takehiro Tomiyasu, Rob Holding and Kieran Tierney came in for Ben White, William Saliba and Oleksandr Zinchenko in defence,

while Fabio Vieira and Albert Sambi Lokonga replaced Martin Odegaard and Thomas Partey in midfield.

In attack, Marquinhos and Eddie Nketiah got the nod while Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Jesus dropped to the bench.

Even with their alternative line-up, it didn’t take long for Arsenal to find their rhythm.

Vieira and Nketiah had chances to score early on before, with nine minutes on the clock,

the former glanced the crossbar with a rising shot following a clever flick-on from the latter.

Bodo/Glimt tried to drop deep and frustrate their hosts, falling back into a 4-5-1 without the ball in an effort to close off the space in midfield...

Manchester United came from behind to beat Omonia Nicosia away in Cyprus 3-2.
Marcus Rashford, strike twice, and Anthony Martial – both of them on as subs – clinched an important win.

Man United started well and spurned various excellent chances to take the lead.

Then, on 34 minutes and following a United free-kick, Bruno broke downfield, there was no cover,

fed Karim Ansarifard, and he lashed a tremendous shot into the roof of the net for a goal no team, at any level should concede, ever.

On 53 minutes Rashford curled home a delicious equaliser then, moments after coming on, Anthony Martial drove home an equally tasty finish.

Rashford then added a third that looked like a clincher, but seconds later, Nikolaos Panagiotou pulled one back as United lost concentration to reanimate the match.

But United escaped, just – though the same lack of care and attention that characterised them under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer remains the case now Ten hag is in charge...

Sports / Real Madrid 2-1 Shakhtar Donetsk Highlights (download Video) by Oladisquare: 10:51pm On Oct 05, 2022
Real Madrid have extended their perfect start in the Champions League with a 2-1 win against Shakhtar Donetsk at the Bernabeu.
Carlo Ancelotti’s side came into this match top of Group F with two wins from two, having beaten Celtic and RB Leipzig by an aggregate scoreline of 5-0.

Shakhtar had already done enough to suggest they could be potentially tricky opponents,

however, thrashing RB Leipzig 4-1 and drawing 1-1 with Celtic, this despite their squad being weakened considerably over the summer after FIFA’s ruling that foreign players could suspend their contracts with Ukrainian clubs owing to Russia’s invasion.

Real made a dominant start to the game, Karim Benzema denied by a last-gasp intervention from Shakhtar defender Mykola Matviyenko

before Federico Valverde fired straight at Anatoliy Trubin in goal. With 13 minutes on the clock they had their opener,

Rodrygo finding a pocket of space between the lines and, having briefly lost the ball to Taras Stepanenko only to win it back again, scoring from just outside the box without breaking his stride.

Rodrygo finding a pocket of space between the lines and, having briefly lost the ball to Taras Stepanenko only to win it back again, scoring from just outside the box without breaking his stride.

The Uruguayan midfielder picked out Rodrygo ahead of him, he played a neat one-two with Benzema and then, with Shakhtar defenders

converging, the Brazilian threaded through Vinicius who lashed into the far corner.

Just when it looked like Shakhtar might crumble, they found their inner steel.

Bohdan Mykhaylichenko charged up the left flank and whipped a cross which fell for Oleksandr Zubkov, who leapt up into the air and thundered an acrobatic volley past Real goalkeeper Andriy Lunin.

Benzema almost scored immediately after the restart only to see his shot deflected narrowly wide, before Mykhaylo Mudryk went close to an equaliser.

Only a last-ditch challenge from Ferland Mendy stopped him from rounding Lunin and rolling the ball into an empty net.

Shakhtar had another good chance to level the scores late on, Yukhym Konoplia fluffing his lines after finding himself unmarked at the back post.

That set up a nervy last 10 minutes for the hosts, but they held on – with Marco Asensio hitting the post right at the end – to extend their lead at the top of the group.

Sports / Chelsea 3-0 Ac Milan Highlights (download Video) by Oladisquare: 10:41pm On Oct 05, 2022
Chelsea secured their first Champions League win of the season as Graham Potter’s side comfortably beat AC Milan 3-0 at Stamford Bridge to move up to second place in Group E.
The Blues took the lead with 24 minutes on the clock as Wesley Fofana poked the ball home into the net from close range to score his first goal for the club.

However, the French centre-back’s night was done shortly after, as a suspected knee injury forced him to be replaced by Trevoh Chalobah.

The Rossoneri had their best chance of the match right in first-half stoppage time, but Rade Krunic could only put his close-range shot over the crossbar.

Chelsea continued to be the better side in the second half and doubled their lead in the 56th minute, as Reece James’ low cross from the

right byline was turned in by Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang from inside the six-yard box.

James then got on the scoresheet himself just five minutes later as the right wing-back buried a powerful strike into the roof of the net from inside the penalty area to round off a great night for the West London side.

Erling Haaland continued his irrepressible form as Manchester City took a significant step towards the Champions League knockout stages with an emphatic 5-0 victory over FC Copenhagen.

The Norwegian hitman opened the scoring with a sweet first-time finish on seven minutes before doubling the home side’s advantage with a simple tap-in just past the half hour.

City then made it three going into the break when the unfortunate Davit Khotcholava diverted Sergio Gomez’s shot into his own net.

Haaland was replaced at the interval with his job already done, but City continued to dominate and Riyad Mahrez marked his 200th appearance for the club with an ice-cool penalty on 55 minutes.

Julian Alvarez then made it five 14 minutes from time when he polished off a slick team move.

The result sees Pep Guardiola’s men top Group G with three wins from three.

Borussia Dortmund are second on six points with FC Copenhagen and Sevilla on a point apiece.

Next up, City host Southampton in the Premier League on Saturday before making the trip to FC Copenhagen on Tuesday.

Trent Alexander Arnold open the goal scoring with sensational free-kick as Liverpool defeated Rangers 2-0 in a one-sided ‘Battle of Britain’ at Anfield.

The Reds full back, who has come in for criticism for his performances so far this season,

gave a timely reminder of his qualities with a sublime 25-yard set piece to open the scoring on seven minutes.

The hosts could and perhaps should have been out of sight by the interval but Gers keeper Allan McGregor produced a series of top-drawer saves to deny Mo Salah and Darwin Nunez on multiple occasions.

The pattern continued in the second half and it was no surprise when the Merseysiders finally doubled their advantage when Salah coolly converted a spot kick on 53 minutes.

The result sees Liverpool sit second in Group A, just three points behind leaders Napoli.

Ajax are third on three points while Rangers are pointless from three games played..

Sports / Inter Milan 1-0 Barcelona Highlights (download Video) by Oladisquare: 10:34pm On Oct 04, 2022
Hakan Calhanoglu’s fine low drive in injury time of the first half was enough to give Inter Milan a crucial Champions League victory over Barcelona.

With Bayern Munich having beaten both sides and riding high on top of Group C, this game,

and the one between the sides next Wednesday, looked crucial in deciding who will join the German giants in the knockout stages.

Neither side were particularly threatening in the first half, despite Barcelona dominating possession, and the goal came out of nowhere

when the Turkish midfielder using a defender as a shield drove his shot across his body leaving Marc-Andre ter Stegen with no chance.

Barcelona were unlucky not to equalise in the second half as Ousmane Dembele saw an effort come back off the post and Pedri was denied an equaliser by VAR after Andre Onana’s

flap at a cross struck the hand of Ansu Fati at point blank range before the midfielder turned the ball home.

The win leaves Barcelona desperate for a victory next week at the Camp Nou or they will be facing a second straight year without qualifying from the group stages.

Sports / Arsenal 3- 1 Tottenham Highlights (download Video) by Oladisquare: 2:52pm On Oct 01, 2022
Arsenal extended their lead at the top of the Premier League table after defeating 10-men Tottenham Hotspur 3-1 at the Emirates Stadium in the north London Derby.

Arsenal started off by far the better side and could have had the lead in the third minute, only for Gabriel Martinelli’s low shot on the half volley to come back off the near post.

Mikel Arteta’s side eventually saw their pressure pay off and Arsenal were deservedly in front in the 20th minute as Thomas Partey bent a side-footed strike from distance past Hugo Lloris and into the top corner.

Despite being on the back foot, Tottenham were trying to find opportunities on the counter-attack, and on one such occasion in the 29th minute,

it resulted in the visitors being awarded a penalty as Gabriel caught Richarlison with a rash challenge inside the area.

Harry Kane made no mistake from the spot, sending his penalty straight down the middle past Aaron Ramsdale to put Spurs back on level terms, scoring his 100th Premier League away goal in the process.

A costly mistake by Lloris gifted Arsenal the lead early into the second half, as Gabriel Jesus pounced after a double lapse from the Tottenham goalkeeper in the six-yard box to score an easy tap-in to restore the lead for the Gunners.

Tottenham’s afternoon in N7 got even worse, as Emerson Royal was shown a straight red card for a poor challenge with his studs showing on Martinelli’s shin.

Arsenal then sealed the three points just five minutes later as Granit Xhaka coolly slotted home a low shot into the far corner to give

Arteta’s side their third successive home win over their north London rivals...

Sports / Czech Republic 0-4 Portugal Highlights (download Video) by Oladisquare: 10:08pm On Sep 24, 2022
Portugal have gone top of their Nations League group after an impressive 4-0 win against the Czech Republic at Fortuna Arena.
The visitors arrived in Prague hoping to climb to the summit with a win, with Spain, one point

and one place ahead of them, taking on Switzerland in the evening’s other Group A2 match.

Meanwhile, the hosts, three points behind Portugal in third, knew that anything other than victory – combined with dropped points for Spain – would snuff out their sputtering hopes of reaching next summer’s finals.

The two sides looked evenly matched early on, with the Czechs going close via Vaclav Jemelka and Patrik Schick before Rafael Leao and

Cristiano Ronaldo threatened to score for Portugal.

Ronaldo, who sustained a nasty cut to the nose after a coming-together with Czech goalkeeper Tomas Vaclík, went on to miss two big chances,

the first when he scuffed a shot from five yards after an inch-perfect pass from Bruno Fernandes and the second when, having been picked out by Fernandes at the far post, he ballooned wide on the volley.

The hosts came within a whisker of opening the scoring when, with a little over half an hour gone,

a lovely passing move ended with Vladimir Coufal looping a cross into the box.

Both Schick and Antonin Barak went for it, seemingly putting each other off, with the latter glancing a downwards header wide of the upright.

Moments later, Portugal took the lead. Diogo Dalot marauded forwards and picked out Fernandes to his left.

His Manchester United teammate whipped a cross into the box which evaded everyone, but Leao gathered it up and pulled the ball back for Dalot on the charge.

He finished the move he had started, smashing past Vaclik.

There was high drama on the stroke of half-time when, having just doubled their lead after Mario Rui teed up Fernandes for a simple finish,

Portugal conceded a penalty. Perhaps looking to shield his bruised nose, Ronaldo raised his hand and brushed the ball in the area.

Schick stepped up but, tasked with giving his side a foothold in the game, he squandered the opportunity, clipping the crossbar with a rising effort which sailed into the stands.

Dalot got his second soon after the restart, taking a touch on the edge of the area and lashing into the far corner, before Diogo Jota, on as a substitute, wrapped things up with a close-range finish at a corner.

With Spain duly losing 2-1 to Switzerland in Zaragoza, Portugal are now two points clear at the top.

The old rivals face off in Braga on Tuesday to decide who will have the chance to win the tournament...

Sports / Brentford 0-3 Arsenal Highlights (download Video) by Oladisquare: 2:16pm On Sep 18, 2022
Arsenal returned to the top of the Premier League with a comfortable 3-0 win over Brentford.

Centre back William Saliba got the Gunners going early with a header from a Bukayo Saka corner after 17 minutes.

11 minutes later Gabriel Jesus doubled the visitors’ lead with a powerful header from an excellent Granit Xhaka cross.

How Xhaka found himself in so much space right on the edge of the Brentford box will remain a mystery.

The home side were woeful in the first half, with the usually boisterous crowd virtually silent throughout.

Arsenal controlled the ball, holding 64% possession, and their defensive shape also denied Brentford their usual attacking patterns.

The Bees did find some joy in behind ersatz right-back Ben White, but goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale was never tested.

Brentford's strike partnership of Bryan Mbeumo and Ivan Toney managed just four touches in the Arsenal box combined.

Any hopes that the home side could regroup after the break was swept away when Fabio Vieira scored Arsenal’s third.

Vieira, making his first start for the club after joining in the summer, hit a sensational long-range strike that dipped and clipped the post on its way past David Raya.

Brentford improved in the final moments, but barely mounted a single attack of consequence in a surprisingly poor performance.

Arsenal head into the international break atop the Premier League, and face rivals Tottenham in their first match back.

Sports / Barcelona 3-0 Elche Highlights (download Video) by Oladisquare: 5:54pm On Sep 17, 2022
Barcelona went top of the Liga table after a comfortable 3-0 win over 10-man Elche at the Camp Nou.

Robert Lewandowski scored twice against the league’s bottom side to help Barca leapfrog Real Madrid in the standings by a single point, for one evening at least.

Real take on fierce rivals Atletico Madrid on Sunday.

The result for Elche, meanwhile, means they remain rooted to the bottom of the table on just one point after match where their captain and manager got sent off.

Barcelona dominated from the first minute and a real breakthrough for the hosts came in the 14th minute when Elche's captain Gonzalo Verdu was shown a straight red card for rugby tackling Lewandowski as he looked set to be clear through on goal.

Barca deservedly took the lead in the 34th minute through the in-form Pole.

Alejandro Balde's low driven ball across the goalmouth was tapped in by the striker at the far post for his tenth goal of the season in all competitions.

The hosts extended their advantage four minutes before the break when Memphis Depay spun his marker John Chetauya inside the box before smashing his shot into the roof of the net.

Barca had the ball in the net again moments later through Pedri, but Lewandowski was offside in the build-up.

Nevertheless, Elche boss Francisco Rodriguez was furious and was subsequently sent off by referee Alejandro Ruiz.

Lewandowski got his second and Barca's third shortly after the break.

In the 48th minute, Ousmane Dembele's low cross was not cleared properly at the near post.

The ball squirmed out to Depay who laid it off for Lewandowski to fire in.

Ronald Araujo came closest to getting a fourth for Barca, but his acrobatic scissor kick volley from two yards out following a corner flied just wide of the post.

Sports / Wolves 0-3 Manchester City Highlights (download Video) by Oladisquare: 2:47pm On Sep 17, 2022
Manchester City went top of the Premier League with a comfortable 3-0 win over 10-man Wolves.

City opened the scoring after less than a minute, when Jack Grealish turned in Kevin De Bruyne’s cross.

The champions had not lost any of their last 33 Premier League matches after taking the lead, and they never looked like doing so against Wolves.

Erling Haaland doubled City’s lead 15 minutes later, driving at the retreating Wolves backline with the ball at his feet.

The Norwegian turned the defence inside out, before unleashing a low shot that beat Jose Sa into the bottom corner.

It was Haaland’s 11th goal in seven Premier League appearances.

With City already in control, Nathan Collins had a moment of madness.

The young Ireland defender caught Grealish in the hip with a high, studs-up tackle.

Referee Anthony Taylor showed Collins a deserved red card and Wolves were reduced to 10 in the 33rd minute.

Wolves improved in the second half, creating far more chances with 10 than they had with 11, but it wasn’t enough to turn the game around.

City were being outplayed for a good spell, but snapped back into life to make it 3-0 in the 69th minute.

Haaland received the ball on the right edge of the box and flicked it into the path of De Bruyne.

The Belgian squared to Phil Foden, who delicately placed his shot just out of range of Sa.

City move two points ahead of Arsenal, who play tomorrow afternoon against Brentford.

Sports / Fc Sheriff 0-2 Manchester United Highlights (download Video) by Oladisquare: 7:53pm On Sep 15, 2022
Cristiano Ronaldo scored his first goal of the season as Manchester United eased past Sheriff Tiraspol 2-0 in Group E of the Europa League.

Despite a tepid start from Erik ten Hag’s side, Jadon Sancho broke the deadlock after 15 minutes and Ronaldo added a second from the penalty spot minutes before half time.

United took their foot off the gas in a second half that was almost entirely without incident, but the Premier League side still comfortably dispatched their Moldovan opposition.

The win sees United leapfrog Sheriff and move up to second place in Group E, just two points behind leaders Real Sociedad.

Given the English club schedule has been drastically affected by the death of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, Ten Hag’s side’s next fixture will be against rivals Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium in over a fortnight...

Sports / Real Madrid 2-0 RB Leipzig Highlights (download Video) by Oladisquare: 11:14pm On Sep 14, 2022
Real Madrid scored two late goals to beat RB Leipzig in their second Champions League game of the season at the Bernabeu.

The first half was rather flat with very few chances of note for either side.

The best opportunity falling to Marco Rose’s side in just his second game in charge as Timo Werner scooped a ball through to Christopher Nkunku, but his shot was smothered by Thibaut Courtois.

Los Blancos did have a big penalty shout as Luka Modric was seemingly pushed by Xaver Schlager in the back but nothing was given.

The second 45 minutes continued to lack intensity as both sides struggled to create many clear-cut chances.

But Real Madrid’s quality was eventually the difference as Vinicius Junior found Federico Valverde on the edge of the box who fired in with his weaker foot with 10 minutes remaining.

Marcos Asensio then scored with a fine first-time finish in injury-time to make sure of the win, which puts Real Madrid top of Group F with six points from two matches.

Shakhtar Donetsk are in second place on four points after their draw with Celtic.
