Christianity EtcIs Tithing Compulsory Or Choice Based? by olamefun1990(op): 10:21am On Oct 21, 2017
As Christians many believe that tithing is one of the things we must do. It makes me wonder if Tithing itself is compulsory for Christians. Large chunk of people who support tithing Base their argument on the old testament while those against it based their argument on the fact that Jesus didn't instruct that we pay tithe.
Can some please educate us on this subject?

WORDWORLD:
Olamefun1990 the TRUTH is we are in an era so CONFUSED IN MENTALITIES so much that WORDS have lost their AUTHENTICITY and are used to apply indifferently to all sorts of things which mostly doesnt portray its originality by functionality. Such as the word 'RELIGION' for example has gone through so much perversions through the ages that when it is used today it denotes a mere 'COMPONENT' with no wider bearing that can or should be done away with, a seperate entity hence, the idea of 'SECULARISM' was given birth to which is a PURELY HUMAN SYSTEM that negates any system DIVINE to running the affairs of the society except philosophy, the thoughts of mortal, carnal men.

In reality and by DIVINE CHORONOLOGY, as to the conceptions of all  'RELIGIONS', some were birthed to address certain problems as at time of their revelation. RELIGION AS A 'HOLISTIC SYSTEM' IS WITH RESPECT TO SEQUENCE OF GRADUAL DIVINE REVELATIONS AS IT UPDATES TO A FINAL PERFECTION, REFLECTING BY PRINCIPLES, TO DIRECT 1. MAN'S INDIVIDUAL PERSONALITY AND THE RUNNING OF HIS SOCIETY AND HOW TO CONNECT TO THE SUPREME SO HAS TO ENJOY PEACE AND SECURITY  . (This can be most understood by those who have without BIAS studied world's religions through PURE research and OBJECTIVELY. The conclusion is that their root is ONE, from the SAME DIVINE SOURCE and their message is ONE until by the fleeting of time they all go through abuse and loss in sacredness but its DIVINE TRUTH is never LOST to those who are HONEST seekers after them.

To cut long story short. For you to say "MORALITY IN ITSELF HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH RELIGION BUT PERSONAL VALUES AND THAT OF THE SOCIETY WHERE ONE RESIDES" is an assertion unprofound, an open end theory, infact a VOID which is mutually destructive.

You mean "Morality in itself has nothing to do with 'RELIGION'"?! But "PERSONAL VALUES" yet the same MORALITY by an individual "PERSONAL VALUES" is dependent on the "VALUES OF THE SOCIETY WHERE ONE RECIDES"?!

So that if for example a child growing up in a  society that embraces ISLAM and practices SHARIA with ALL SINCERITY as the system that dictates what is RIGHT and WRONG in the society. Do you think religion, ISLAM as your assertion, will have "NOTHING" to do with forging the morality of who since from birth grew up in a society which forbids the drinking of Alcohol, Gambling, Fornication and Adultery, but encourages, the taking of milk and honey, legitimate businesses, and connubial bliss meaning marriage just to mention the MORALITY and IMMORALITY as SHARIA LAW in Islam? You really think religion ISLAM will have no influence upon the judgement of what is right or wrong in that society? Which by the defination of the word 'MORALITY' it simply means: BELIEFS OR IDEAS ABOUT WHAT IS RIGHT AND WRONG AND ABOUT HOW PEOPLE SHOULD BEHAVE.

Can you for yourself see the DEPTH OF MENTAL CONFUSSION of this age, so much that the word 'MORALITY' which should fit perfectly by its defination the context of Religion by function which states what is RIGHT from WRONG according to its own principle and systematically inculcates and cultivates virtues such as HONESTY, DECENCY e.t.c as a pattern of HABIT is today seen as expected to have "NOTHING TO DO WITH RELIGION"? That is just another example of MENTAL CONFUSSION.

You need to understand that, that pattern of habit that has been imbided in him, not only by personally believing it as so in the scripture that dictates DOS and DON'TS but for the mere fact that North, South, East, West of the society where he has been living from birth there are no Bars let alone to go drink alcohol and get drunk like a skunk. There are no Brothels for a quickee sex or marathon sex, nor mingling of male and females unnecessarily, nor Casino for gambling or onebetnaija . WHAT KIND OF MORAL WILL PEOPLE WHO GROW UP IN SUCH AN ENVIRONMENT BE KNOWN FOR? Gamblers, Alcoholics, Fornicators? Does your theory still dispel religion as having NOTHING to do with morality?!

"PERSONAL VALUES" has to do with the variables at your disposal, hence CHOICE from what is being regulated by the system that controls your society if it allows HOMOSEXUALISM sure homosexualism becomes a RIGHT and not a WRONG and is seen as a MORALITY.

Now, no matter your alcoholism, your being a gambler or fornicator and as a visitor once you step into such as a SINCERELY SHARIA ENVIRONMENT you will have to re-adjust your PERSONAL VALUES as long as it doesn't fit with the laws of the land, at least for as long as you are under such restrictions. Which so many times, people have been transformed by such environment after adaptation, becoming a former drinker of Alcohol, a former Fornicator, a former Gambler such things they may call as "PERSONAL VALUES" before have been purged out because there is no where to practice them and now seen as NO VALUE. The system of SHARIA has changed the persons morality but not necessarily his core beliefs as to choice of faith.

IN A NUT SHELL RELIGION DOES DICTATES MORALITY. WHICH IS, MORALITY BY ITS OWN PRINCIPLES OF WHAT IS RIGHT AND WHAT IS WRONG. LIKEWISE, SYSTEMS THAT KICKS AGAINST RELIGOUS IDEALS DICTATES BY THEIR OWN PRINCIPLE TOO WHAT IS TO BE CONSIDERED RIGHT OR WRONG.

A good example is America as you have mentioned. In 1835 (please note the date). French statesman Alexis de Tocqueville wrote a book which is regarded as one of the greatest book ever written about America. The title of the book is DEMOCRACY IN AMERICA and which he wrote "THERE IS NO COUNTRY IN THE WORLD WHERE CHRISTIAN RELIGION RETAINS A GREATER INFLUENCE OVER THE SOULS OF MEN THAN IN AMERICA". Olamefun1990, can the same be said today about the citizens of America? Yet the book was about Democracy in America and not Christianity? In 1835 which Americans DEFINATELY would not have tolerated for example HOMOSEXUALISM yet it was Democracy being practiced in the same America, a SECULAR STATE even then, as it is still Democracy being practiced today and a secular state today too but on another level though very DEHUMANIZING really.

Lastly as regards the member of Northern state house of assembly who you said rejected 'FAMILY PLANNING' because Prophet Muhammad instructed Muslims to marry as much and bear as much still falls under the MENTAL CONFUSSION of this age.
Firstly no where in ISLAM by it's scripture is it instructed to marry as much wives, the maxium is four which is not made compulsory as you will have to give account on your treatment of each one of them, its a choice of either one, two, three and four which is the maxium.
And if FAMILY PLANNING is what it really should mean and not the MENTAL CONFUSSION of this age. The first step it should address is choice of spouse not number of children. Islam recommends as first step thus "DO NOT MARRY ONLY FOR THE SAKE OF BEAUTY, MAY BE THE BEAUTY BECOMES THE CAUSE OF MORAL DECLINE. DO NOT MARRY EVEN FOR THE SAKE OF WEALTH, MAY BE THE WEALTH BECOMES THE REASON FOR DISOBEDIENCE MARRY ON THE BASIS OF RIGHTEOUSNESS." Tabarani

So, the first recommendation is a choice of a woman of VIRTUE/ man of INTERGITY which serves as the foundation in FAMILY PLANNING in ISLAMIC CONCEPT of what family planning about. Which as well as serves as the first of a CHILD'S RIGHT as accorded to be born into the family solidified by righteousness and not SLAY QUEENS and FVCK BOYS. So that the unborn falls into a home of VIRTUE who are ready to take full responsibility of the upringing of the child up in a way he or she emulates from the parents. THE FAMILY PLANNING IN ISLAM DIFFERS FROM WHAT IS MOSTLY BEING TALKED ABOUT AS FAMILY PLANNING, WHICH DOESNT GIVE A DAMN ABOUT DETAILS, AND THERE IS MUCH MORE TO WHAT THE WESTERN SECULARISM INTENDS TO ACHIEVE AS REGARDS THE 'FAMILY PLANNING' THEY KEEP PROJECTING WHICH EVEN THE ROMAN CATHOLICS TOO FIRMLY OBJECT. It must be noted that, for every child a Muslim parent brings to this world, if he is not well catered for educationally, spritually, welfare e.t.c e.t.c by his parents or who ever is responsible, and turns out to be a MENANCE to the society, such a parent(s) will be SHAMED on Judgement day as against the saying of the Prophet "MARRY AND PROCREATE, FOR I WILL BE PROUD OF YOUR POPULATION ON DAY OF JUDGEMENT" Irwaul-Ghali

He won't be proud of such parents. As regards pride in number of children. The Quran says "AND KNOW YE THAT YOUR WEALTH AND CHILDREN ARE BUT A TRIAL" Quran 8:28

Childern are not just blessings but a trust hence a trial. Parents will be asked about the trust given to them to give account that is ISLAM so its not about giving birth just any how IT BOILS DOWN TO IGNORANCE. Family planning in Islam is very wide and interesting.

Hence no pride in quantity without quality. Its a saying to encourage marriage and denounce sexual permissiveness. The Prophet as well said and as a WARNING "WHENEVER SEXUAL PESSMISSIVENESS SPREADS AMONG THE PEOPLE TILL IT BECOMES A NORM. INFECTIONS AND KILLING DISEASES, AS WELL AS ILLNESS NOT PREVIOUSLY FOUND IN THEIR ANCESTORS SPREAD AMONG THEM". Ibn Majah and Al-Bayhaqi

When you study the sexual revolution of the 60's U.S.A prior to the revolution when sex was strictly kept within the conference of MARRIAGE ALONE the number of Sexually transmitted disease STD were said to be only 4 while afterwards, today of SEXUAL PESSMISSIVENESS it is said that there are 24 STDs and still counting.

WORDWORLD:
HONESTLY YOU MADE THE MOST SENSE ALMOST EVERYONE ELSE DON'T HAVE A CLEAR PICTURE AT ALL. YET I DON'T BLAME THEM, THERE ARE SO MANY FACTORS INVOLVED IN AN AGE SO CHOKED WITH MENTAL CONFUSSION. THE PROGRAMMING OF MINDS TO FIT ALL KINDS OF ILLUSIONS IN THE NAME OF 'MODERNISM', PULLING DOWN THE FAMILY STRUCTURE, FROM ITS FOUNDATION, WHICH IS MARRIAGE, BY MAKING MARRIAGE UNFASHIONABLE BY DELIBERATE DESIGN. "MORAL DECADENCE IS A SLIPPERY SLOPE" A TRUISM AT ITS CORE.........THAT'S WHY SUCH AS SILICION DOLLS IS THE LATEST INVENTION OF THE JUSTIFICATION OF YOUR TRUISM. DON'T EVEN PATROIZED SLUTS ANYMORE WE GOT DOLLS FOR YOU, THE GOT NO FEELINGS THEY WON'T BREAK YOUR HEART, AND YOU NEED NOT FEED THEM, TAKE RESPONSIBLITIES EXCEPT CHANGING THEIR BATTERIES OR WHAT EVER POWER SUPPLY . WHAT A DEGENERATION!!! FACT BEING THAT THOSE WHO AIN'T MARRIED ARE NOT MARRIED BECAUSE THEY WANT TO BECOME A CELIBATE, WON'T BE FVCKING AROUND. MARRIAGE IS MEANT TO PROTECT THE COMMUNITY FROM THE DISEASES THAT COMES ALONG WITH FVCKING AROUND AND EVEN MORE THERE ARE LOTS OF METAPHYSIC TO IT. YET IT IS NOT BY FORCE, ONLY THAT IT IS SEEN AS ABNORMAL IN SOCIETIES THAT HAVEN'T LOST THEIR IDEALS TO PROFANITY. TO SEE SOMEONE WITH ALL IT TAKES TO BE BONDED AND CHOSE NOT TO. POSSIBLE IN A LOSE SOCIETY OF ILLICIT SEXUAL ADVENTURES. LIKEWISE MARRIAGE IS NOT ALL ABOUT MAKING BABIES.

BEFORE I CONTINUE, I GIVE YOU A FIVE STAR FOR YOUR POINT, "AFRICA IS LAGGING BECAUSE OF THE CORRUPT PRACTICES OF ITS LEADERS. TO BE MORE EMPIRICAL, WE CAN PLACE SINGAPORE AND NIGERIA SIDE BY SIDE AND ANALIZE. A FURTHER ANALISIS OF YOUR MENTIONED EXAMPLE . THE DIFFERENCE IS TOO CLEAR AS TO THE BY PRODUCT OF 'HONESTY' AND 'CORRUPTION' . (Don't mind my writing in capital letters I follow my own flow as it dictates). SINGAPORE MOVED FROM A THIRD WORLD COUNTRY TO A FIRST WORLD COUNTRY BECAUSE THEIR LEADER(S) WERE SINCERE, HONEST, DISCIPLINED, WITHOUT GREED AND FOCUS, HENCE THEIR CITIZENS HAD NO OTHER CHOICE THAN TO FOLLOW IN THEIR FOOTSTEPS. AND MIND YOU ITS A COUNTRY SO DEEP IN SPIRITUALITY,   BUDDHISM IS A VERY DEEP SPIRITUALITY. A COMMON FACTOR WITH ALL RELIGIONS IS 'HONESTY', UNLESS BY MALPRACTICE WHICH IS 'CORRUPTION' LEADS NO WHERE BUT RUINATION. (My emphasy is on honesty and corruption) AND IN TRUTH WHAT IS TERMED AS PROGESS IN THE WEST, IS AT ALL NOT PROGRESS THEY ONLY SERVE TO SHARPEN THE PROBLEMS OF HUMAN AFFAIRS LEADING US TO BIGGER PROBLEMS. (This is a subject on its own, an insight to the reason why is as said by Albert Eistein, "Science without religion is lame" Religion in this context has to do with the principles that put common good first and not denial of a HIGHER ORDER. Inorder words turning away from the heavens in the pretext of conquring the Earth.)

WHICH IS "UNCHECKED LIBERALISM IN THE NAME OF LOOKING COOL & PROGRESSIVE" A.K.A 'FREEDOM', AN ILLUSION CREATED FOR THE SHALLOW IRESPONSIBLE MINDED, HAS ITS ROOTS AT THE TIME OF THE RENAISSANCE, WITH THE IDEOLOGY 'HUMANISM' AS WAS PROPAGATED. AS IT IS THE CRY TODAY 'HUMAN RIGHTS' DELUSION EMBRACED BY SO CALLED 'MORDENS'.

YOUR USING UAE AS AN EXAMPLE IS VERY ACCURATE. AN ILLUSTRATION OF THE MENTALITY OF THE EAST AS AGAINST THE WEST. THE WEST MENNTALITY IDOLIZES MATTER AND SEES IT AS THE END IN ITSELF, 'MATERIALISM' WHILE THE EAST SEES BEYOND MATTER, TAKES IT AS ONLY A MEANS AND NOT AN END IN ITSELF. THAT'S WHY ITS EASY TO MAKE SEX OUTSIDE MARRIAGE AS A FASHIONABLE THING, HENCE A CARNAL CULTURE OF THE WEST BECAUSE THAT SATISFACTION IS THE END IN ITSELF. INFACT PORNOGRAPHY TELLS IT ALL. ITS ALL ABOUT MALE GRATIFICATION IN THE MOST ANIMALISTIC WAY UNLIKE TANTRA WHICH IS INTIMACY FOR SPIRITUALITY, DEEPER CONNECTIVITY, HEALING PLEASURE. THE FORMER IS THE CULTURE THAT IS GRADUALLY TAKING OVER. SO, AFRICA IS BACK WARD BECAUSE IT FROWNS AT SUCH CARNAL CULTURE? THESE PEOPLE WHO SEE NOTHING WRONG WITH WHAT EVER IS THE OUT COME OF A ONE NIGHT STAND, CARING NOT THAT IS ANOTHER LIFE THAT MAY BE PRODUCED.

ALOT OF PEOPLE ARE SO INCLINED TOWARDS ANIMALISTIC INSTINCTS AND FAR BELOW.  MARRIAGE IS NOT ALL ABOUT BABIES ITS INFACT THE MICROEST INSTITUTION OF ALL HUMAN AFFAIRS WHICH AIM IS TO PROTECT THE SANITY OF THE SOCIETY BY TRUST. SEX IS NATURE MEANT TO BE ACCOMODATED WITHIN MARRIAGE WHICH IS CULTURE AS A SHIELD AGAINST VICE. AND UNLESS SPOUSES UPHOLD THAT TRUST MARRIAGE WILL FAIL. IT ALL BOILS DOWN TO 'HONESTY' AND 'CORRUPTION'. THEIR BY-PRODUCTS IS CLEAR!!!

WE ARE HAVING MORE AND MORE PEOPLE KICKING AGAINST MARRIAGE TODAY IN NIGERIA FOR EXAMPLE BECAUSE THIS IS THE REALITY. "54% OF NIGERIA'S YOUTH ARE UNEMPLOYED" (National Bureau of statistics 2012) AFTERALL GETTI MARRIED TO LEGITIMATELY EAT PVSSY AND SUCK DEEK IS NOT ALL ABOUT MARRIAGE IF YOU CANT PUT FOOD ON THE TABLE.
I must say with great humility that I appreciate your response. Straight to pointing hitting the right cord along the way. I opened this thread to learn, and see others views as regards marriage. You just made my day. Thanks

Africa is lagging behind solely because of the corrupt practices of it's leaders. Don't blame religion for everyone of your problems. The UAE is a highly religious emirate & is strongly opposed to western influence...... More so than any African country. but today, it ranks pretty high among the richest and most developed countries in the world.
For all of the problems you can attribute to religion, this is definitely not one of them.
Religion is the last firewall left to breach before countries like Egypt start organizing topless parades and free the nipple_campaigns. Moral decadence is a slippery slope and i wouldn't trade religion for unchecked liberalism all in the name of looking cool & progressive.
You've made valid points but that is just a single point of view. The reason UAE is this developed is because in spite the dogma of religion they opened up to scientific studies and realities. America is a God's own country yet they are a circular nation cus they want to remove the many controversies religion brings. I'm a Christian but I'm very much opened to proof than fallacies. Our leaders in africa do not only exploit our lack of full understanding of the verious religions they also influence the preachers of religious doctrines. This is y u will see someone compel other not to vote for a particular person on religious grounds. A member of a Northern state house of assembly recently rejected blatantly the idea of family planning cus Prophet Mohammed instructed them to marry as much wives they wish to and bear as many children as they can. By the way, religion is not the only way immorality can be clubbed. Morality in itself has nothing to do with religion but personal values and that of the society where one recides.

One does not have to be married to have babies by the way. Religiously, even Jesus did acknowledge that it is not for everyone and it is not one of the pillars of Islam either. What I'm saying is, if you decide not to get married in Nigeria. People begin to think there is a spiritual war somewhere.

SportsGuardiola: Barcelona Shouldn't Have Been Forced To Play Las Palmas by olamefun1990(op): 11:59pm On Oct 01, 2017
The La Liga club beat their opponents 3-0 behind closed doors, as violence marred a referendum on Catalan independence
Pep Guardiola has expressed his disappointment that Barcelona were made to play Las Palmas behind closed doors on Sunday, amidst an emotionally charged referendum on Catalan independence.
The Manchester City manager spent 17 years at Barca as a player, before managing the club to untold success between 2008 and 2012.
Guardiola also played seven times for Catalunya, and has repeatedly urged the right of the region's populace to decide if they to secede from Spain.

A referendum on the issue on Sunday was marred by violence, with police striking out at protestors. Barcelona saw some of the most serious violence, with more than 700 people reported injured so far.
Amazingly, Barca played a La Liga match against Las Palmas at an empty Camp Nou on the same day, and Guardiola has insisted that he would not have had the match go ahead had it been his decision.
"The Barca-Las Palmas game? I would not have played it at all," he said on Catalunya Radio.
"If you finally play that game, if you play, it's done with the public, with all the consequences."
Gerard Pique gave an emotional interview after the game, which Barca won 3-0, where he offered to resign from the Spanish national team, and insisted that the Catalan people were "not the bad guys".
Guardiola says he did not watch the interview, but he has insisted that no Catalan player can be thought to dislike Spain, with Pique, Carles Puyol and Xavi cornerstones in arguably the best Spanish international team of all time.

"I have not listened to Pique, they have told me his words. Gerard expresses himself as the brave guy that he is," he added.
"Gerard, Puyol and Xavi were part of the national team's greatest generation/age. Who could think that we don't like Spain? Spain is a tremendous, tremendous place."

PoliticsSuccession :the Untold Possible Outcome by olamefun1990(op): 5:26am On Sep 27, 2017
With the various call for successions around the world, the Kurdish independence referendum, the Catalonia referendum and locally the call for independence referendum by IPOB comes to mind.

From my findings, the peace and stability in and between the new "country" and the old one is usually dependent on the reaction of the parent country on succession. Russia - Ukraine, North - South Koreas, North - South Sudans are a few examples of countries where there have been lack of political and economic stability after independence.

What I find common in these countries is that they all got independence through "war". The political elites/freedom fighters succeeded in dividing these countries through dirty propaganda, sacrificed the lives of many and eventually become the sole winners in all ramifications.

Though a country such as America was able to jump this hurdle but not after over a hundred years of political instability. I hope Biafra will learn from the Civil War that the only way to avoid another "war" is diplomacy. I have the believe that no one can stop BIAFRA but many can make sure it does not become the "dream" one.

Before I forget, whoever trusts the international Community to achieve independence should be willing to become a 21st century puppet. Once you invite them into your party, you can't uninvite them till they are satisfied with what they've sucked out of you.

God bless BIAFRA,
God bless The Federal Republic of Nigeria.

I feel that the reason many northern politicians are against restructuring is because they know they will possibly lose political relevance if they losen their grip on the economy. It simply means that everyone will have to make do with what's available to him in his region which is not so much in the north compared to other regions. As Yorubas, we've got nothing to lose whether Nigeria get restructured or not. We've always set the pace. this is a game of "whoever holds the economy might calls the shots"...... And it won't go down well with the north considering the fact that they've always felt it is their birthright.

Wake up, if every Nigerian politician killed their fiercest enemies then we wouldn't have any more politicians. There are no enemies or friends in politics, jus interests.. U don't have to justify an irresponsible statement by d man
I don't know what part of the world you live in but politics is same everywhere. Interest breeds the needs for survival.

Dis El'Rufai guy has always hard a dark twisted minded... Jus imagine d kind of insensitive statement coming from a so-called Governor.. If dis statement had come from anyone else who isn't a northerner I'm pretty sure d reaction would have been cataclysmic
Wake up. A governor is a politician and there is nothing decent about them. It's either you kill ur fiercest enemy or u get killed.
