It happens to most Devs when they take a step up, not just entry level Devs. You will get over it when you complete a couple of tasks in your new job.
The pressure shouldn't be on you, the onus lies with the company to onboard you properly.

My onboarding went smoothly at my first company, I was given a full external API to build that was to be like a miniature clone of our internal API. On top of that, the company was using firebase firestore and realTime database, firebase cloud functions and firebase Auth. Up till that point I didn't even know what firebase was cheesy I had only heard the instructor at the bootcamp I attended mention it once.

But the onboarding buddy I was assigned who also happened to be a senior colleague from my bootcamp really helped, and the CTO was also helpful, I disturbed both of them that week sha grin

This was how I felt after completing that first task cheesy

Thanks for sharing this.

Let me give you my experience. Got a job for a telecommunications provider Stateside. Never had industry experience in the entire software stack used. From OS to actual telephony software, my entire experience was from running them at my home lab and watching YouTube videos which I replicated on my lab. First week (of a planned 4 week) training, I had a test to guage my knowledge. I "vomited" everything I had learned from my YouTube channel. Trainer couldn't believe his eyes. Apart from some school boy errors, every other thing I did was on point for entry-level knowledge. trainer was someone that had been in the industry for 20years and had to ask me if I was really entry-level or if I accepted entry-level just to get a job. Two weeks later, a colleague from Argentina who had more experience than I did, stumbled severally. I "assisted" him in designing what is known as a dialplan in the industry and the trainer was not pleased with my assistance. Man had to do the test again one week later with a subtle stern warning to me intervene.

Nigerian employers maybe different, but trust me fam, we all get cold-feet. Until we enter and notice that na the employers water cold, our feet is blazing hot

Hmnn, thanks for this sir.

Hello everyone, let me just go straight to the point.

I got an offer recently as a backend developer with a company and I will be resuming work in some weeks time. The issue is I feel like I'm not good enough to take up this role, like I keep doubting myself.

I haven't work with any company or organization before. All my experience has been building web app for people, I've been doing that for like two years now.

I'm happy I got this role, because it wasn't easy, at the same time I feel like can I do well in this role?. I don't know if anybody felt the same way the first time they were taking up a software role too?

So software devs, I need your opinion on this. Thanks.

I think it was only downloaded on your udemy account just like when you download on YouTube. I mean offline download. That's why it isn't visible. You should have used udeler app for system, with that it would have been downloaded on your local machine.

The "Object.keys(obj)" method returns an array of the obj keys, and assigns the array to the basket variable.

Thank you so much boss. I appreciate you so much for setting out your precious time to explain the code. corrections taken!!!

I actually had it solved with a for\in but you know we learners now, i want to test if i can solve it in another way. that is the reason i first used the Object.keys to convert to an array before using the forEach() function.

You're the boss sir!! You can actually solve it in another way too.. There are lot of ways to solving problems you know?.
Programming / Re: Please I Need Solution To This Js Code by olubantylove(m): 3:01pm On Aug 31, 2021
Hello OP, I hope you are taking your time to enjoy JS? Lol. So, to what you asked.

First I’ll point out some errors you made and then provide solutions to them.
1. You have an object called amazonBasket right? You initialized it without an identifier like no const or let declaration. JavaScript is a forgiving language though, but this is a bad practice as it leads to hoisting just like what the var does then.

Solution: Add a keyword (const or let) to that
.

2. Remember, the amazonBasket is an object not an array, and the obj is an argument pointing to the parameter amazonBasket when you call the checkBasket function. So the obj is still an object right? The forEach method does not work on an object, it only works on arrays and some iterables like nodelist.
Solution: When looping through an object you use the “ for in loop”. Like so:

for(const objKey in amazonBasket){
//Execute this code
}

3. Why did you resort to using the Object and String objects in your code? To me it is not necessary.

So the solution to what you want to do can be achieved in two ways.

First Option(First Picture)
Noticed I only used the in keyword to check if the searchItem property is present in the basket object.
Yes it is possible. And it is common to object. You use the in keyword to check if a property exist in an object.
So the if statement checks that is books present in the basket object as a property? If it is, then it returns books is available else it returns books is not available.

Second Option(second picture)
I looped through the basket object to get all of its property using the “for in loop” I mentioned earlier.
And the looped property are stored in the key variable. After which I check for type and value equality, so if any of property that is stored in key is equal to the searchItem, then it is available.

OP I hope you know by property I mean the books, flosses and glasses that are declared inside your amazonBasket object .
Also careful how you work with variables lexical environment. For instance, you declared the text variable has a global variable, you don’t need to return it again inside the function. It will obviously take the recent value even if it is used inside a function. Anyways, I moved it inside the function for you, since you want to return the checkBasket function. So with console.log, you can access the return value which in this case the text variable.

I hope this helps OP. Enjoy JavaScript and Coding!!

This what I use in downloading udemy to my system.

Download udeler app... It's for pc.

Install it on your pc. Open the app and login with you udemy credentials.

You will see the courses you have on your normal udemy account. Click on the download icon on any of the course you want to download and it will be downloaded on your system even with subtitles and all the course files like pdfs, zip file and all.

I hope this helps @OP

Please Boss in the house someone should write down the process on how to run downloaded laravel project. I tried YouTube but always getting composer.Json errors.

Check if the downloaded laravel project has the vendor folder and node modules folder because most times it's excluded especially if it is downloaded from github.

Regardless of the above, go to the project directory on your terminal.

Then run composer install command. This will include all the dependencies.

If node modules folder isn't present, run npm install too.

After then you can serve your application with php artisan serve command.
