Within a week they paid him one year plus salary they are owing him plus pension meaning they have the money but they chose to owe him. They are very wicked!! May that company get bankrupt before the end of this year in Jesus name.

They intentionally withheld his salary, knowing fully well that he had signed a contract with them and he can't leave at will. This is pure wickedness from the management. If you can pay the four months salary within a week of resignation, why didn't they pay it when he was with them. They paid so as to have a good ground to take up legal actions against him.
I wish I have the resources to take up this case.

U will understand the meaning of this country when u quit that job u think is stressful. Cos u won't definitely see penny to even sub for that youtube ur learning the design not to talk of feeding urself
Never you quit a job tht pays u 50k and above in this country until u have saved or invested alot to do so. No friend or family, I repeat no friend or family fvcking cares about you. You will understand this line the moment u quit that job. Better respect urself n stay back there first whilst u package ur cv an apply for other baking jobs with better pay elsewhere.

If you quit that job now, even those that call u boss and senior man will all spit on u after seeing u in d house for some time.

I stayed good 5yrs after nysc at home(I live alone in d city) without a job. Was surviving it but wasnt that easy before I was landed my first mega appointment. Quote me,during that 5yrs,even my own mum was insulting me each time she calls me on fone reminding me how my mates v made it n I was wasting my life without knowing what I was passing through in d city. I felt so depressed almost wanted to take my life but here I am today. Am not earning million but I feel better than before.

So bros, stay back there n seek for better opportunities. Make use of the internet agressively. Apply for jobs. Belive me, with ur experience..u will always get interview invite. Once ur close in getting another job,u then leave that one ur doing now

I guess he got the job too early after NYSC, that's why he considers dropping it. I know how far I treck within Ikeja submitting CVs from one organization to another before I was eventually called by one. Even when it's stressful and the pay is meagre, I remained there till I saved up for my Masters Degree.

Politics / EFCC Recovers Over N1bn Cash From A Civil Servant by oluemmakay(m): 12:23am On May 21, 2021
The Chairman of Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Abdulrasheed Bawa, Thursday disclosed that the Anti-graft agency last week recovered over N1 billion cash sitting in one bank account from a Civil Servant.

Bawa made the disclosure while appearing before the Senate Committee on Finance, investiating the Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) and payment of 1 % stamp duty by contractors on all contracts awarded by MDAs between 2014- 2020.

There are a lot of leakages we need to block, it is not about generating revenue, we have recovered over a billion from civil servant sitting in an account last week”, he said.

He however applauded the Senate Committee of Finance on investigations being carried out on internally generated revenues of MDAs and the payment of 1% Stamp Duty by contractors on all contracts awarded by MDAs between2014-2020.

After observing the proceedings and the process of investigation of the Committee, I am happy with what is happening here. It is a good development that the committee is working towards blocking revenue leakages.

” At this point in the nation’s history, it is not much about generating revenue as much as blocking leakages of revenue generated and still being generated by all these agencies of government” he stated.

Bawa said he would have been happy to go away with one of the heads of agencies immediately from the revelations that the Committee unearthed in course of observing the documents presented by the agency stressing that he would be ready to partner with the committee as the process goes on and hopefully get the report of the committee for further action.

As part of setting example for blockage of leakages, he stated that since his assumption of office, he has created 4 new departments in EFCC, two of which, namely the Procurement Department and the Internal Audit to ensure that due process is followed and there are no audit queries adding that other MDAs can copy the template of EFCC.

The Chairman of the committee, Senator Olamilekan Adeola ( APC Lagos West) , had earlier enunciated that the focus of the investigation is informed by the need to curb recurrent federal budget deficit and the resort to borrowing while agencies of government earn and often frivolously spend generated revenues of government adding that so far the committee had made progress with many agencies paying back unremitted revenues in the tens of millions with treasury receipts to show.

“It is clear that we can no longer continue to run government as business as usual with some agencies not audited for over years, agencies collecting funds for expenditures during budget process without declaring revenue they are bringing to the table.

The practice is for them to spend generated government revenues illegally while still collecting funds from the government that had to resorts to borrowing to fund them” , he said.

In course of the sitting, the Federal College of Education, Okene was ordered to pay back to the Consolidated Revenue Fund of the Federation the total sum of N242 million it generated and spent contrary to the 1999 Constitution and the Fiscal Responsibility Act, 2007 within 5 months.

Also, following a tripartite committee of the Accountant General Office, the Fiscal Responsibility Commision(FRC) and the Nigeria Electricity Regulatory Commission(NERC) formed by the Committee, the account of NERC was reconciled with N888million outstanding to be paid to CRF by NERC.

Other agencies that appeared before the committee for the day are Nigerian Communication Commission, NCC, Federal Medical Centre, Yenegoa, Nigeria Film Corporation, Federal Neuro Psychiatric Hospital, Calabar and the NNPC among others with some cleared while others were requested to provide additional documentation.

Politics / Insecurity: Lagos Bans Illegal Occupation Of Abandoned, Uncompleted Buildings by oluemmakay(m): 2:08am On May 01, 2021
Following rising tension over security in the country, Lagos State Government has henceforth prohibited illegal occupation of abandoned buildings and buildings under construction in the state.

The state Commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban Development, Dr. Idris Salako, who announced this in a statement on Friday, stated that it was part of measures to prevent the state from being plunged into chaos and theater of mindless killings.

Salako warned that owners/ developers who fail to comply with the above conditions within 30 days, would have their buildings sealed off and further actions will be taken where necessary.

The commissioner stated that his ministry will invoke the powers vested by Section 73 of the Lagos State Urban and Regional Planning and Development Law 2019 as amended, in order to ensure that all parts of the state remain safe, secure, sanitized, and sustainable.

Salako stressed that the move became necessary in view of the security challenges in the Nation and the need to prevent the outbreak and possible spread of the ugly trend in the state.

According to him, “Lagos State Government has observed with dismay the security challenges in the Nation at large and clearly understands the danger posed by the likely spread of this ugly situation in our dear state.”

Salako noted that some hoodlums and social miscreants mostly, foreigners from neighbouring countries had continued to convert abandoned buildings and building construction sites to their haven and launching pad to perpetrate crimes which pose serious danger to the sanity and sanctity of the state.

He, therefore, urged residents and the public to be vigilant, embrace peace and tranquility in the general interest.

“The public should abide with certain conditions, such as the obligation of Owners/Developers of any uncompleted or existing building by ensuring that the property is in proper environmental, safe and sanitation conditions; no construction worker must remain within the premises of buildings undergoing construction beyond 6.00 pm daily.”

Salako, therefore, warned property owners and developers to heed the stated conditions in their own interest as any defaulting owners would have such building sealed off and further actions are taken where necessary.

“However, the government is committed to ensuring livability, the safety of lives and properties as well as security of residents and citizens in the state.

Politics / Okorocha: I Have No Problem With EFCC Arresting Me by oluemmakay(m): 5:33am On Apr 15, 2021
The embattled former Governor of Imo State, Rochas Okorocha, has said that there is nothing wrong for the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) arresting him to answer some questions arising from numerous petitions against him.

This was contained in a statement issued on Tuesday night by Okorocha’s Special Adviser (Media), Sam Onwuemeodo. The senator, representing Imo West Senatorial District in the Senate, also accused the Imo State government of fuelling his ordeal via petitions written against him to the anti-graft agency, noting that as a result, legal actions instituted against the commission were pending at various courts.

The statement, which was released following the phone calls put to the Senate Committee Chairman on Culture and Tourism’s Media Aide, said: “We have been inundated with calls by media houses and concerned Nigerians and beyond, trying to confirm the reported invitation of Rochas Okorocha by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission later today, being April 13, 2021.

“The truth is that Okorocha left as the governor of Imo State on May 28, 2019. And shortly after his exit as governor, Imo State government wrote petitions upon petitions against him.

“The EFCC investigated the petitions and had been in various courts of the land with Okorocha to that effect.

“At the end of the day, we would know whether the commission will be withdrawing the cases in courts or continue with them.”
MEANWHILE, a group, Igbo Youths For Equity, has accused the EFCC of allowing itself to be used as a tool for political witch-hunt, following the arrest of Okorocha.

In a statement signed by its spokesman, Captain Izundu Marcel, the group expressed concerns over “attempts by some highly placed politicians from outside Igboland to frustrate the Igbo presidency agenda.”

It said that Igbo youths would not sit idly while some interests continue to allegedly single out their key leaders for humiliation.

“We are concerned that over the last two years, there seems to have been deliberate attempt by a group of political hawks from outside Igboland to humiliate and demoralise key leaders from Igboland whom they consider as threats to their ambition.

Politics / Pantami Vs US Watch List: Fbi's Standpoint by oluemmakay(m): 3:27am On Apr 14, 2021
The controversy surrounding the alleged link of the minister of communications and digital economy, Ibrahim Isa Pantami to Boko Haram and other terrorist organisations around the world may have opened a new vista as the US Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has reacted to the alleged placement of the minister on terror watch list.

The FBI, in its response to the request sent to it by LEADERSHIP yesterday said, “Thanks for reaching out. However, consistent with our standard posture, we can neither confirm nor deny whether an individual is on the watch list.”

Nigerians had expressed shock and concern when the news of the alleged link of the minister broke on Sunday.

LEADERSHIP had quoted the unconfirmed report indicting the minister, where he was said to be a former student of Salafist ideologies, trained in Saudi Arabia and the Middle East with other top Islamic jihadists.

samndaads
Pantami had, however, denied the report and threatened legal action against the publishers of the national daily, which reported the alleged link, demanding public apology and a retraction of the story.

In a letter written through his lawyers, the minister demanded that the newspaper “convene a press conference to publicly announce your retraction while dissociating our client from the false claims you made which are seriously injurious to our client’s personality.”

He further declared his innocence adding that he had been preaching against the activities of Boko Haram and other terrorist organisations and wondered why anybody would use the purported report to defame his character.

Politics / Electoral Offences Bill: Political Parties, Officials Risk ₦50 Million Fine by oluemmakay(m): 3:17am On Apr 14, 2021
In order to guarantee the sanctity of the ballot and as well engender a credible electoral process in the country ahead of the 2023 general election, the National Assembly has made far-reaching provisions in the Electoral Offences Commission Bill and the Electoral Act (2010) Amendment Bill (2020) which are under consideration and will soon be passed into law.

Both legislations are to discourage underhand dealings and malpractices in the nation’s electoral process.

In the proposals included in the proposed electoral law, candidates who submit false credentials and their political parties would be fined N5million and N50million apiece for that infraction, plus a possible jailtime for the offender.

Consequently, the Electoral Act (2010) Amendment Bill (2020) is currently at an advanced stage and will also be passed into law within the second quarter of the year.

samndaads
Chairman of the Senate Committee on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Senator Kabiru Gaya (APC, Kano South) made the disclosures on Channels TV’s Politics Today monitored by our correspondent in Abuja last night.

Gaya said the new electoral law, among other things, provides for a 180-day window for party candidates to emerge before the secondary elections contrary to the current provision of 90 days.

The lawmaker explained that the wisdom behind the new provision in the Electoral Act was to make sure that only authentic party candidates participate in the election contest as all pre-election matters would have been resolved before 180 days.

Gaya added that this will ensure that only the people’s choices emerge winners through the ballot box and through not litigations as is being witnessed now, even as he called on the judiciary to recalibrate itself for better results.

Also, the Electoral Offences Commission Bill, if passed into law will, among others, address the issue of fake certificates presentation by contestants as offenders will be fined a sum of N5million and a jail term if found liable.

The lawmaker, however, said the judiciary also needs to be take a bold step towards making the electoral process a credible one.

“There is a need to have real discipline and lots of corrections in the judiciary. You will find out that we have even conflicting judgements on some of the (election) cases.

“I believe that the judiciary too need to take stronger steps to fight corruption within the system and be able to stand effectively by the law and be able to assist on how the elections could be free and fair.

“Because in some cases, politicians just rush to the courts and do what they want and get what they want to get, and that really demoralises most of the political aspirants in politics, and that also does no give credibility to any election.

“The electorate must be given the right to choose who they want,” Gaya said.

When asked the specific provisions of the new electoral law that will enhance the electoral process, he said: “It was captured in that case and we even give more room now. We put 180 days before election, which is about six months for a party to have a candidate.”

Gaya continued: “I believe what we have there (the amended Electoral Act) will take care of the current problems we have. And I believe the essence of amending the Electoral Act (2010) is to get out of the problems that we went through in the last few elections, the experience we had – the good, the bad systems of elections we went through.”

On the punishment for riggers and other electoral offenders, Senator Gaya said the measures put in place in the Electoral Offences Commission Bill are harsh but they are the best ways to sanitise the electoral system.

He revealed that the public hearing on the Bill, which is the brainchild of both the Senate and House of Representatives Committees on INEC and Electoral Matters, would take place at the end of the month, after which a report will be presented to both chambers of the National Assembly for consideration.

“Let me tell you that we in the committee of INEC, we have now brought up a Bill on electoral offences commission that will be dealing with all the offences committed during elections, where people will snatch ballot box or beat people or force an electoral officer to declare a result, or even kill people at the venue of the election.

“Electoral Offences Commission is going to take these matters seriously. Unless we have people punished for the offences they commit, sadly people will not learn their lessons.

“And even when a party submits a name of a candidate that is not qualified, after disqualifying the candidate, then the law will take effect on the party. The party will be punished and made to pay almost N50million or the leadership will be punished for that.

“And the candidate that fails to submit a good or credible result, that man will also be punished. He will be made to pay about N5million or be handed five years imprisonment.

“So, I believe that if all these measures taken, they are harsh but at least they are best ways to be able curtail these kind of events happening again,” Gaya added.

Foreign Affairs / Joe Biden: Details Of The 17 Executive Order by oluemmakay(m): 6:48am On Jan 21, 2021
Biden’s 17 Executive Orders and Other Directives in Detail

The moves aim to strengthen protections for young immigrants, end construction of President Donald J. Trump’s border wall, end a travel ban and prioritize

President Biden signed executive orders during his first few minutes in the Oval Office

WASHINGTON — In 17 executive orders, memorandums and proclamations signed hours after his inauguration, President Biden moved swiftly on Wednesday to dismantle Trump administration policies his aides said have caused the “greatest damage” to the nation.

Despite an inaugural address that called for unity and compromise, Mr. Biden’s first actions as president are sharply aimed at sweeping aside former President Donald J. Trump’s pandemic response, reversing his environmental agenda, tearing down his anti-immigration policies, bolstering the teetering economic recovery and restoring federal efforts to promote diversity.

Here’s a look at what the measures aim to accomplish.

On the Pandemic
Mr. Biden has signed an executive order appointing Jeffrey D. Zients as the official Covid-19 response coordinator who will report to the president, in an effort to “aggressively” gear up the nation’s response to the pandemic. The order also restores the directorate for global health security and biodefense at the National Security Council, a group Mr. Trump had disbanded.

Though it is not a national mask mandate, which would most likely fall to a legal challenge, Mr. Biden is requiring social distancing and the wearing of masks on all federal property and by all federal employees. He is also starting a “100 days masking challenge” urging all Americans to wear masks and state and local officials to implement public measures to prevent the spread of the coronavirus.

Mr. Biden is also reinstating ties with the World Health Organization after the Trump administration chose to withdraw the nation’s membership and funding last year. Dr. Anthony S. Fauci will be the head of the U.S. delegation to the organization’s executive board and will jump into the role with a meeting this week.

On Immigration
With an executive order, Mr. Biden has bolstered the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program that protects from deportation immigrants brought to the United States as children, often called Dreamers. Mr. Trump sought for years to end the program, known as DACA. The order also calls on Congress to enact legislation providing permanent status and a path to citizenship for those immigrants.

Another executive order revokes the Trump administration’s plan to exclude noncitizens from the census count, and another overturns a Trump executive order that pushed aggressive efforts to find and deport unauthorized immigrants. Yet another order blocks the deportation of Liberians who have been living in the United States.

In a blow to one of his predecessor’s earliest actions to limit immigration, Mr. Biden has also ended the so-called Muslim ban, which blocked travel to the United States from several predominantly Muslim and African countries. Mr. Biden has directed the State Department to restart visa processing for individuals from the affected countries and to develop ways to address the harm caused to those who were prevented from coming to the United States because of the ban.

Mr. Biden has also halted construction of Mr. Trump’s border wall with Mexico. The order includes an “immediate termination” of the national emergency declaration that allowed the Trump administration to redirect billions of dollars to the wall. It says the administration will begin “a close review” of the legality of the effort to divert federal money to fund the wall.

On Climate Change
Chief among executive orders that begin to tackle the issue of climate change, Mr. Biden has signed a letter to re-enter the United States in the Paris climate accords, which it will officially rejoin 30 days from now. In 2019, Mr. Trump formally notified the United Nations that the United States would withdraw from the coalition of nearly 200 countries working to move away from planet-warming fossil fuels like coal, oil and natural gas.

In additional executive orders, Mr. Biden began the reversal of a slew of the Trump administration’s environmental policies, including revoking the permit for the Keystone XL pipeline; reversing the rollbacks to vehicle emissions standards; undoing decisions to slash the size of several national monuments; enforcing a temporary moratorium on oil and natural gas leases in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge; and re-establishing a working group on the social costs of greenhouse gasses.

On Racial and L.G.B.T. Equality
Mr. Biden will end the Trump administration’s 1776 Commission, which released a report on Monday that historians said distorted the role of slavery in the United States, among other history. Mr. Biden also revoked Mr. Trump’s executive order limiting the ability of federal agencies, contractors and other institutions to hold diversity and inclusion training.

The president designated Susan E. Rice, who is the head of his Domestic Policy Council, as the leader of a “robust, interagency” effort requiring all federal agencies to make “rooting out systemic racism” central to their work. His order directs the agencies to review and report on equity in their ranks within 200 days, including a plan on how to remove barriers to opportunities in policies and programs. The order also moves to ensure that Americans of all backgrounds have equal access to federal government resources, benefits and services. It starts a data working group as well as the study of new methods to measure and assess federal equity and diversity efforts.

Another executive order reinforces Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 to require that the federal government does not discriminate on the basis of sexual orientation or gender identity, a policy that reverses action by Mr. Trump’s administration.

On the Economy
Mr. Biden is moving to extend a federal moratorium on evictions and has asked agencies, including the Agriculture, Veterans Affairs and Housing and Urban Development Departments, to prolong a moratorium on foreclosures on federally guaranteed mortgages that was enacted in response to the coronavirus pandemic. The extensions all run through at least the end of March.

The president is also moving to continue a pause on federal student loan interest and principal payments through the end of September, although progressive groups and some congressional Democrats have pushed Mr. Biden to go much further and cancel up to $50,000 in student debt per person.

On Government Accountability
Following in the footsteps of some of his predecessors, Mr. Biden has established ethics rules for those who serve in his administration that aim “to restore and maintain trust in the government.” He has ordered all of his appointees in the executive branch to sign an ethics pledge.

Finally, Mr. Biden issued a freeze on all new regulations put in motion by his predecessor to give his administration time to evaluate which ones it wants to move forward. The memorandum is aimed at preventing so-called midnight regulations, policies pushed through by a lame-duck president unconstrained by electoral considerations. The fast pace often cuts short the opportunity for the public or industry to review the policies.
