Politics / What Is Wrong With The Kwara State Government? by oluwadanie1(m): 11:00pm On Oct 12, 2015
I really thank God for my life as i almost had an accident last thursday on my way from ilorin to minna. No thanks to the very bad state of the ilorin-jebba road.

This road is already a death trap. I saw up to 4 trailers that had fallen on its side. One of the trailers was even carrying "Bakers biscuit" of which some of the cartons opened and the contents fell out. (waste of resources).

Again, when we got to the jebba bridge, i was suprised to see that the "go slow" which was caused by bad road had extended to some parts of the bridge. Though soldiers were trying to control it but some trailers were still standing on a part of the bridge,

it is really not fair on the part of the kwara state government as they ought to have done something to this road.

Mokwa-bida road was once in the same condition till it was repaired.

Please Governor Abdulfatah, do something.

Most of you must have seen pictures of the bad roads on this forum.

Thanks.

Education / See 6 Reasons Why Most 100level Students Don't Cross To Next Level by oluwadanie1(m): 9:21am On Sep 15, 2015
Well, there are a large number of 100level students who are not priviledged to cross over to 200level for one reason or the other. CAMPUS DAILIES brings to you 6 reasons why this happens.

1) Dealing with freedom.
It would be the first time most 100level students are staying away from parental guidance(for a long time). So for this, they tend to misuse their newly acquired freedom and get carried away from studies.

2) Bad friends
we should all pray for luck when selecting friends because some are all out to destroy lives. This could be case for some freshers who roll with the wrong people and end up being led astray from their studies.

3)Too much parties
How do you intend to cross when ypu attend parties every blessed night like its your job? Answer that first

4)Non-chalant attitude
Some people can be so unbelievable. They just don't care about anything. Similarly, 200level don't care about them too

5)Skipping lectures frequently
yea, they don't force you to school like secondary school days but you musn't skip lectures everytime too. If you do, i think 200level awaits you(in your dreams).

6)Poor Finance
I really do pity people in this category as its not actually their fault. Little or no money can distract the, from studies in an attempt to go into other jobs and raise cash.

Errm, are you an aspirant or already in 100level? Please let this post be your guide and watch how you cruise to 200level. No be magic o.

I rest my pen.

Do I look like I am joking.

What about the diploma students, part time students, post graduate, masters and phd students?

The SUG is meant for only the undergraduates which i don't even think are up to 50,000.
Masters and phd students have their own bodies.

Mtcheeew!

Bloody pretentious hypocritical deceivers. They loot the money the SUG generates yearly, which should be used to better the standard of living all the OAU students( over 100,000 students) and decide to use a small amount to "help" pay the fees of 85 students.

Now, next time they need to request money from external bodies, they would have a better CV.

Absolute Rubbish!

over 100,000 students? Are you joking?

Education / OAU Students Union Pays School Fees For 85 Students by oluwadanie1(m): 2:40pm On Sep 11, 2015
The Obafemi Awolowo University student's union has again set the pace for others to follow as they announce the completion of payment of school fees for indigent students. These students were supported under the student's union scholarship scheme program of which about 85 of them benefitted from.

The Public Relations Officer of the union, comrade Ojedokun Emmanuel Kant who confirmed this on his facebook wall also said that this was a crown to their promise at the pre-electioneering and electioneering period.

He also stated that students welfare would not be sacrificed for a stable academic calendar and called for the immediate renovation of the hostels to stop the animalistic lifestyle lived by some of their students.

Also, the Vice President of the TY-led administration has been said to be working on an on-going tutorial mostly for part one students to address mass failure and offer academic welfarism.

Politics / Buhari's 100days In Office: A Student's Perspective by oluwadanie1(m): 7:48pm On Sep 10, 2015
Well, a lot of opinions and perspectives have been made public on the issue of President Buhari's 100days in office. I couldn't but notice that the students haven't made public what they feel.

Our amiable president has been really busy with a lot of things but one thing he has neglected in his first 100days is the education sector. Though 100days might be too little to judge an administration which has 4years, i also believe that our sector really needs his attention.

While tackling many problems like corruption, education has been totally neglected by the Buhari administration. There are no intending policies to revive the already shattered sector which is composed mainly of the nation's leaders of tomorrow.

I want to point out to the president that education is as important as any other sector and moves should be made to revive it as soon as possible.

This is just to serve as a reminder to President Buhari that even students were part of those who voted him into power and therefore he should not disappoint us.

We wish him the very best in his administration ~ CAMPUS DAILIES
