Trust me, power supply in Osun is better than some places in Lagos. I lived in Osun for almost two years and i never had a generator, cause light was stable. We're comparing Osun and Oyo, you cannot even compare Lagos with Oyo and Osun. Everyone knows how good Lagos is. Not everybody wants Lagos btw, I know I don't.
bhankyskillz:
Lagos state has all these things but its 10 times more expensive. does that make Osun state better than it. And everybody wants Lagos regardless of the high cost of transportation, accommodation and feeding

NYSC / Re: NYSC 2016 Batch A Corp Members House by oluwafirefunmi(f): 2:17pm On Feb 04, 2016
My point exactly. You have to put cost and standard of living into consideration too, not just social life and the likes.
MissOyin:

Anyways there is no doubt oyo z quite expensive dan osun nd a CM living on z19800 allawee Osun z way beta tho
NYSC / Re: NYSC 2016 Batch A Corp Members House by oluwafirefunmi(f): 2:09pm On Feb 04, 2016
Thank you. These are my points exactly. Even Ede has better power supply than the whole of Ibadan does
ayosco2008:

God bless you for this. Enough town you can have your ppa and enjoy. Na only ibadan and ogbomoso.. I have a friend that had her ppa in oyo town she just had to find a way to redeploy to osun cos electricity was zero in oyo town. What can u achieve without electricity in this modern day
NYSC / Re: NYSC 2016 Batch A Corp Members House by oluwafirefunmi(f): 2:07pm On Feb 04, 2016
I am a resident also. Professional bodies have a strong hold in Osun too. I took classes for both ICAN and CIIN in Osun and it was way better than what Ibadan had to offer. Also putting into consideration light, water and the steady developing social life, Osun state pls. Ibadan is too expensive is all I'm saying. Even transportation is expensive.
bhankyskillz:
Finally Oyo residents are talking. No offense to Osun state but Oyo state is head and shoulders above it. I have lived in both states. If you want leisure go to the cinemas. you want to shop head on to shoprite. If you want excitement find your way down to options night club, 411, tarmac just to mention a few. If you love nature, head to Ibadan zoo or agodi gardens. professional bodies like ICAN NIM CIPM MAN, NIESV have strong holds there. Financial institutions are so many, telecommunications companies are there, real estate firms are there, food making and beverage companies and a whole lot of human resource manager's setting up shop in oyo, just to mention a few. Osun state has got nothing on oyo..
NYSC / Re: NYSC 2016 Batch A Corp Members House by oluwafirefunmi(f): 2:03pm On Feb 04, 2016
Thank you o. Its like you read my mind.
biotechshola:
Here a places in osun that are almost developed as osogbo the capital city...

Ede.....fed poly ede, adeleke university, redeem university..

Iwo...bowen university

ilesha...health tech, NCE

ife...OAU, oduduwa university..

Ila....NCE

Ikirun....osun state uni

ire....ire poly

Esa oke...college of tech..

Just to correct the impression dat only osogbo is developed.

However in oyo state, aside ibadan nd ogbomoso, every other place is under developed, more or less a village. Is it iseyin, igboho, saki or whr?
NYSC / Re: NYSC 2016 Batch A Corp Members House by oluwafirefunmi(f): 2:02pm On Feb 04, 2016
I'm just saying you were talking about the town only. You didn't say anything relating to the villages.
MissOyin:

Each states has villages, osun has a lot also lyk ipetumodu,moro,ashipa,edunabo,akinlalu,ode-omu a lot so choosing osun or oyo can not be determined based on the villages
NYSC / Re: NYSC 2016 Batch A Corp Members House by oluwafirefunmi(f): 1:48pm On Feb 04, 2016
I'm a resident too. I stay at Oluyole estate extension. This place is expensive for corp members, other than the ones being sponsored by someone else, or those that have people they can stay with. You guys are mentioning just the city. I'm putting into consideration the villages as well
Kbs468:

Here is a piece from a resident personality too within the environ
NYSC / Re: NYSC 2016 Batch A Corp Members House by oluwafirefunmi(f): 1:44pm On Feb 04, 2016
You guys are talking about the towns. Pls mention the villages too. Like Iwajowa. Not everyone will be posted to the town
Abbeyunique2:

even oyo town is better than osogbo(devt wise and standard of living). apart from ife no town in osun fit compare to saki and ogbomosho talkless of ibadan.
NYSC / Re: NYSC 2016 Batch A Corp Members House by oluwafirefunmi(f): 1:39pm On Feb 04, 2016
Pls mention the villages cause not everyone would be posted to the town. Ibadan is more expensive than Oshogbo. Most of the houses you'll get at Ibadan are in estates and are expensive. You'll get apartments for 80k at Oshogbo. If you're in Ede, which isn't doing bad either, you'll get apartments for as low as 30k. All the places I've been to in Oyo are very dry, other than the barracks. But at the end of the day, we all see things in different perspectives
MissOyin:
Hey guyz, Hope everyone z good

BTW: Oyo nd Osun both ve their advantages nd disadvantages.

Osun: there r cheap houses there, d standard of living is low bt the state z boring and they r mainly civil servants there. Few private companies. The only places nt boring there r osogbo nd Ile-Ife nd houses there r quite expensive because of OAU nd Oduduwa universities. Talking from experience.

OYO: oyo town houses r also quite cheap bt houses in Ibadan r expensive. Also things r quite cheap there also. Finally both Oyo town nd Ibadan r more lively dan osun.
Most especially no town in osun states can be compared to Ibadan based on everytin.

I rest my case
NYSC / Re: NYSC 2016 Batch A Corp Members House by oluwafirefunmi(f): 1:33pm On Feb 04, 2016
I'm not badmouthing your state sir. Ede is also quite developed, is developing rather. But other than Ibadan, there's almost no other developed place in Oyo. Even Ibadan still has its dry places. My friend is serving at Oyo and I've gone there to stay for a few weeks and it was terrible. I stayed in Osun too, and I'll rather be there than Oyo.
Kbs468:

Ex Miss A16, why are you bad mouthing my state like this now?

When they say OYO, It doesn't mean Oyo town alone nauw, besides was Osun state not the major underdeveloped zone of OYO that was carved out as a new state in Osun?

Though I may not have stayed much in the West but the Osun itself, After OSHOGBO as per Capital City, ILE IFE because of OAU and Oduduwa connection and ESA OKE may be because of OSCOTECH, what is there in Osun too? Lagos itself still have villages that harbours typical street and the down trodden lifestyle let alone any other state in Nigeria.

Well, this is the little experience of mine while seeking admission around Naija in the days of old
NYSC / Re: NYSC 2016 Batch A Corp Members House by oluwafirefunmi(f): 1:29pm On Feb 04, 2016
You'll most likely get posted to a government school, only if you have a request letter from a company. Companies are running to Osun state now, a lot of companies. Including schools too. Also depending on what you're interested in
SC31:

Sorry pls what are the business opportunities in osun?
NYSC / Re: NYSC 2016 Batch A Corp Members House by oluwafirefunmi(f): 1:17pm On Feb 04, 2016
Well, this is your opinion. I voiced mine also. Its not about how big the state is. That's the best of Ibadan, you didn't mention the villages in Oyo. Ibadan is probably the only developed part of Oyo, which is still very dry. So many companies are running to Osun state now to start branches cause its developing steady. The one of landlords reducing rent, this is the first. Cause houses are cheap. And you have to pay just once. Oshogbo is the most expensive, and youll get an apartment for 80k. Places like Ede, you'll get for as low as 30k
bhankyskillz:

i lived in Osun for good 8 years and surveyed the clime. so i know what am talking about. There's nothing developing there. Worker's are suffering. I met corpers who just couldn't wait to end their stay all because they made zero progress. My landlord had to reduce house rent just so some tenants could pay. Osun is more of a village than oyo. Oyo is ten times bigger than osun with better economic opportunities and more industry's to support. But then again every state has its villages and remote areas. But the best of ibadan is ten times better than the best of osogbo there's no argument there. I

NYSC / Re: NYSC 2016 Batch A Corp Members House by oluwafirefunmi(f): 12:13pm On Feb 04, 2016
This isn't true. I've lived in both Osun and Oyo, and I'll pick osun any day any time. Oyo is very dry, and local. Osun is developing better than Oyo is, there's more business opportunities than there is in Oyo. You have to put everything into consideration.
bhankyskillz:
.

Well oyo isn't that bad. still better than osun. If you want something serious for your nysc and you want to make a career stay away from osun. If you just want to while away time then osun fits that bill. But then again we all have different destinies. But its better to make an informed decision. I feel people should pick states not based on electricity or cheap foodstuffs or accommodation but on more substantial parameters. For we men NYSC is a time to think long term. Can the state in question benefit you career wise, can you also have an impact on your community. Do you plan on whiling away one year and return back home unemployed.
NYSC / Re: NYSC 2016 Batch A Corp Members House by oluwafirefunmi(f): 12:01pm On Feb 04, 2016
Osun state is good. I'll pick over the other states. Oyo is ok too, hoping you'll be posted to Ibadan, cause Oyo is more of a village than a city. But Osun is cheaper and more lively compared to Oyo. And its developing steady.

MegaBoolean:

What of Oyo State?
NYSC / Re: NYSC 2016 Batch A Corp Members House by oluwafirefunmi(f): 11:16am On Feb 02, 2016
I'll try my best. Most if not all private universities always mobilise their students as soon as they're done.

Lol! Abi na

Just get me something from all your tours!

Btw, why do we have scarce number of Private university students in this batch!
