Better forget restructuring, the North will never allow it

True sha..

But wait.. The North... The North....

Who is this North ?
In reality this "North" might just be only one geopolitical zone that the whole country is giving too much respect to.
So, if something that will help every citizen greatly needs to be done, and the other zones plus the North Central agrees to the motion, if this "North" doesn't agree it will not stand ??
It is well

I don't know how old you are, but that's not how democracy works. Instead of coup, they should have let the electorate decide their fate in the next election. The aftermath of that coup is why Nigeria has a weak foundation till date.

No, no. Don't think I am in support of what he did. What I am saying is, he wanted the best for his country.

I don't know why people keep covering this up.

The black man is incapable of organizing himself.

I do not think that there is anything wrong with the African. I feel he is incapable of organizing himself the exact way the white man he is imitating, does. He has simply forgotten how to govern himself ever since he began to copy the ways of the conquerors. Africans were quite organized in their own way before the whites came. They just need to find that system of government or administration that bests suit them again and stop copying the white man's style.

I think we're using the standards of the whites to judge the way we act and behave which shouldn't be so.

Politics / Re: Lagos Is Not Part Of Western Region, It's Official by oluwasunkanmi97(m): 6:58pm On Jun 02
Between 1960 and 1966 Jan, There were 4 regions and Lagos. So, if Lagos says they don't want to be a part, well...

The thing is, if we are to revert to regionalism, i think there has to be a kind of referendum for people to say whether they as a state want to be a part of a new region or not or whether the states themselves want to come together as one region.

Regionalism had its issues in the first republic but, if we are to revert and we all agree to it, there are some things that will need to be amended and corrected so the issues that occurred then, would not repeat itself.

You are filled with hatred...its no news

Administration of just 9months with a comatose economy...you guys won't even consider the fact that rebuilding is far more difficult but you are readily giving an F9 mark when lectures are yet to commence. Who does that?

A already dilapidated building must go through the harsh process of rebuilding
Every sane human as all the presidential aspirants categorically stated subsidy must stop, and that the markets forces must be allowed to determine the true value of the naira. The consequences is what we are going through now. There are no other way if we truly wish to become a successful nation free of debts.

But because of political differences, you guys refused to see any good in these laudable policies. You abuse, curse, wish him evil at every opportunity and even create imaginary opportunity just to cast aspersions on the President person.

Continue with it but I can assure you, your vituperations are useless as it won't stop the good work he has started and it won't stop him from coming back and winning again come 2027.

Let the wailers wail continually. There shall be no ending to their wailing.

But, don't you think he did it too soon, floating the exchange rate(when we still import virtually everything and produce next to nothing) and removing fuel subsidy barely 24 hours in office ?

It will correct itself.
If the farmer can sell all his 10 bags of rice, he will be forced to lower the price, its called price deflation ?
All the people raising prices ...is because they have buyers.
If government keeps the borders closed....the prices will come down...Because who will buy if everybody doesnt have money ?
If government gives everyone more money, the market prices will even get worse.
Unfortunately the best thing to do is to force down the prices by reducing purchasing power.
If you sell cows for $50 but no one has more than $30 and they wont share 1 cow, the farmer evetually has to lower the price to sell his cows

Good questions
The honest truth is that no one knows
He doesnt have a crystal ball.
He was given a Cob of maize, instead of boiling it and eating it, like everyone else has done....he has removed each seed and planted it.
Now everyne is hungry, but we have to wait to reap the benefits. If we keep eating the seeds we cannot have a big farm.
Dubai planted their seeds
Qatar was a village with camels before LNG,now they planted their own seeds and we are actually goingto beg them for seeds, because we have been eating all our seeds for 50years
Norway planted their seeds as well.

Tinubu has finally bucked the trend by choosing to plant the seeds and not eat them like every other president.

Okay. Thank you.

You are the clueless one.
Tinubu has implemented policies that can set us on a path for growth.
Policies that should have been in place over the past 50 years.
Was all done within 8 months of these administration.
Buhari printing 22 trillion Naira during Covid was the problem
Every country in the world at this time is suffering the covid money printing
Nigeria is worse because we do not produce anything.
Tinubu could have continue printing the money as well
but eventually when we stop, 1$= 10000000000 naira

The earlier we start showing fiscal responsibility.
The more foreign investors will comfortable.

Okay. So according to you, what is the way forward for this government ?

Why didn't he put in place, cushioning effects to reduce the burden of fuel subsidy removal and the floating of the exchange rate on the people ?

Things are on the high side, individuals and firms are not finding it funny. Firms are reporting losses, individuals purchasing power is depleting with speed, people are hungry and finding it difficult to afford necessities.

How long will this continue before we begin to see the reforms ?

Asking a honest question sir.

But, if you ask me the Ibos saw Obi as the best candidate for the election and as such, they saw the need to give him all of their votes. Those guys will always go for who they feel is the most competent in an election.

You are just contradicting yourself. Infact, your suggestions will only worsen it, since the country is an amalgamation of different nations in one. You can't buy innate feelings no matter how hard you try. Azikiwe, awolowo and co all tried it, and it hasn't work right from day one. It only got worse when they continued fighting the idea of Biafra after the 1967 war.
Till today, millions of dollars are being spent to stop the emergence of indegineous nations. Why won't you struggle economically, especially when you are not a productive country. The only solution is to respect the natural separation of Y shaped River in the amalgamated region

This. At the bolded. Honestly, if this can be possible, it could help who knows..
