31 is also under 40. You can't categorically state this is the reason she got approved.

I don't think it has to do with age or gender. She was assessed as a person

She has good pay and great travel history, but if we look at it NL style, we would have said she has no strong ties, being single and no kids is the reason for refusal.

These things aren't hard and fast rule.

Her transcript for me shows a methodological person who prepared well and stayed confident.

These are my opinions.

Thank you jor! I just dey use corner eyes dey look that somebody here, what in the world was that insinuation about? It is well.... This person's case to me is clear-cut. Some persons to be honest actually think with the previous week's "ban" issues, it is game over for all Nigerian applicants per almost all categories of US visa.

It depends on several other factors though. Many a time during search have I seen cheap return flights, if not cheaper flights, on Emirates, either coming into or originating from BOS.

True! That person writes well. I also believe in trying to say something reasonable and being interactive during such interviews, I'm not saying "spew gibberish" though. "Straight answer, straight answer" as advocated mostly to me is pretty dry and uninteresting.

Travel history however should not and cannot be downplayed for a young applicant to the US Embassy for a visit visa, hell NO! It is almost in "the constitution" these days, please. Will advise he gets some travels in his kitty too, quality ones though. And to be honest, it is no guarantee still, an edge all the same. Better fortune next time....

The letter must be from the doctor in Nigeria who is treating you and knows your medical condition, so he can recommend treatment in the US. It is unlawful for a doctor in the US to give any medical advice or suggestion without physically seeing the patient first. Once you receive a letter from your doctor (in your country), then you contact a doctor in the US that will "accept" you.

After which what will happen? Are you guys still on and open to foreigners per birth tourism?

try booking lagos to newyork or houston, check next weeks prices...versus 5months price.
then come back, lets talk.
you need to be aware that certain factors come into play in ticket pricing...such as holiday season, weather..winter/summer etc

the cheaper rates for booking ahead is more pronounced for local flights ....my 2 cents

True @the bolded. How many people really wan go holiday for inside that yeye cold? But don't try that rubbish for summer tickets from late May into June, till after summer, ticket prices will mostly only be climbing. Also avoid doing that for Christmas/New Year period, buy such ticket from between September and deep into November, that's even for those of us traveling from Naija to that side, but for those coming, na die!

That's our Ambassador to the US.

And history repeats itself with GMB!

Akinloye NG

US Visa Ban.

Fellow Nigerians,

I know you've been reading them telling you the US ban on Nigerians was for immigrant visa and not non-immigrant visa to defend the Buhari government.

Yes, certain Nigerians ain't banned from entering the US i.e students, tourists businessmen etc. The ban is on Nigerians applying to emigrate to the US in order to escape from the hell at home.

Do you know mass of Nigerians under Buhari like in 1984-85, secured relocation visas to the US more than any five countries put together officially, talkless of those visiting and refusing to come back?

Do you know that Nigeria is not giving enough information for the control of terrorism as globally required?

Now the questions are:

What other reasons do you need to know for mass relocation by citizens of a nation taken over by terrorists, bandits and kidnappers many of who were in custody but released by the government of their nation?

What else do you expect from US if a nation won't share information for the control of terrorism as required and an international standard for global fight against terrorism?

I laugh when I started seeing the current trends of some northern youths proposing to old Americans online and getting accepted....

Hold your government responsible, don't be mad at US.

The bold is incoherent.

My original post was that running off to another hospital won’t absolve her of the discount issue with the original hospital when she needs to renew her visa. She needs to fix that issue first. The fact that the discount is $82k makes it a whole lot worse.

Just in case you are forgetting, see your original usual Twoods-like (the traditional Twood, always wanting the worst of negatives to happen to fellow human beings once they try to "share" the US with you in any way and for any reason) post I first responded to below. Kindly pinpoint the incoherence again please. Why are you trying to twist it? As at the time you posted this, did you have the info you are now hiding behind and forming being humane? You no humane nothing oga, na "Wood" you truly true-true be! "They aren’t forcing you not to pay in full are they?" indeed.... Tell her make she go pay the 82k difference from the former waka na, make people chop you here.

I had my interview moments ago.

Vo: Good morning
Myself: morning
Vo: Where are you going in the US
Myself: New york
Vo: How long?
Myself: 10 days
Vo: What do you do
Myself: I own a business, I sell foreign feed additives for poultry, pig and catfish and some agricultural machinery.
Vo: Have you travel outside the country before
Myself: Yes
Vo: where?
Myself: Canada and south Africa
Vo: What do you do in Canada.
Myself: was there on vacation last year for 2 wks and also studied there in 2014
He just checked the visa very briefly, like he had decided already, I told him my expired study permit is here if he will like to check but said never mind,
Types a few minutes and asked Are you married?
Myself: Yes
Vo: how many kid
Myself: one
Next was sorry I cant approved your visa right now.

I dont feel bad because with the rejections I saw today, it shows that embassy dont just want to issue visa anymore, I'm scheduled for 6:45am and I just stayed at the back to see the situations, out of 50 people in front of me none was given, the reciprocity fee cubicle was empty.
I think Nigerians should chill for that embassy for now please.

Infact my interview is even longer, those interviewers was making the queue going really fast, just two questions next is rejection paper.

If you have a virgin passport and thinking of applying just keep that money, you have no chance.

Those that have travel histories to some Asian and African countries, your chances is very very slim maybe none sef.

Note: my last interview before this was 2017 which was also rejected,
I was asked almost same questions then but the lady said I wont approve you now but you can reapply anytime if you want, I just chill US embassy and apply to Canada which was approved in just 3 days
I even have valid 2yrs UK visa

As for me, I'm done with the US embassy, no reason for the rejections, the rejection paper said no tie which I'm sure I have, Good business, family, assets, travel histories and more.
Or maybe because of my young age, I have no idea.
I look very young and have no intention to stay at all, even my vacation to Canada last year for 2 weeks I got tired with calls from clients, cant leave the business for one months sef.

I won't want to undermine the embassy though, but going by your transcript and profile, you mostly should have nailed this with just little margin for denial. But we no dey know finish!

Meanwhile, I go still tell you, una wey dey support the disaster GMB, una no dey go different market or EMBASSY from us. This refusal (and so many others of late) is a whole lot related to what this current government has turned the country into. Till 5-6 years ago here sef, everywhere still soft for that embassy, ordinary Ghana, SA or and UAE travel history still dey work that time. But una see una na? cry

Oh... I see but I used my naira mastercard and it's a saving account.

That definitely is the main/default account attached to your card, the current is the added/secondary one. If you like, have 10 million naira in your CURRENT ACCOUNT without money in that your SAVINGS ACCOUNT and you need to use that card for a POS transaction even in Nigeria and you happen to be in a place where their POS machine doesn't give you the option to select account type (it invariably will only pick your default account for the transaction), that transaction will not fly as long as you don't have that figure in your SAVINGS ACCOUNT.

I will overrule my own best judgment and respond to you this one time. Most of you post without much forethought... and simply out of spite. Even if she goes to 20 other “less complicated” hospitals, you think the VOs will ignore an $82k discount at her next interview? Would it not make sense for her to clear that up first? A delivery costing $92k is crazy.

Will only ask you: did you (or even I too) have @the bolded info before making the post I responded to? No sir! Who lacks forethought in posting then? Why not advise her to go and pay for it in full na!

Agreed that she has a lot on her plate already however, it remains her best option to ensure negotiations and payment complications got nothing on her on this one, she needs move some notch up the "perceived" Embassy's standard of today on this, we can begin to look at and advise her where necessary on how to look for on-time solutions to the previous. Okay?

You obtained your visa based on the hospital you informed the embassy you were going to use. Why don’t you use that hospital? They aren’t forcing you not to pay in full are they?

If she used that particular hospital for her interview, will you say the likely discounted bill wasn't visible to the VO? Did she tell them she was going to pay in full, disregarding whatever quote from the hospital she went to the embassy with? But you and I know that if she touches those crazy discounts as it were and as was seen at the embassy level, you will be the first to cry wolf and also be shouting at the mountain top that she has done wrong, that her visa shouldn't be renewed, etc. Worse still, you'll be the happiest to hear that she got denied at renewal, which will eventually happen anyways. So, oga park well abeg!

Now that she's applying wisdom looking for something less complicated, is it a bad thing if you Twoods let her be? undecided

Meanwhile, I'm not even sure yet if this person in question actually have a visa for birthing purpose nor that she informed them of her birthing plan at the POE. That's another ballgame altogether.... I'm just interested in calling you out ON THIS right now, calm down oga, we all know you!

The bolded is not risky, it clearly tells the authority that the overstay was not intentional reason you came to the office to report and seek their advise which they gave and its on record you voluntarily came because you did not want them to see her as intentionally overstaying. Transparency and honesty is what Canada thrives on.They will forgive you for coming out truthful than falsify any thing...they see it as misrepresentation and a failure of integrity test.

we learn everyday
.
Oh, you went to CBSA before the overstay you mean? Thought you did the explanation on her way out having had the 3 days overstay.

Check what you submitted in this denied application as against the previous application when visa was granted you will see why she was denied. It is rare to see parents who have visited Canada before being denied visa except the application has some defaults or some missing document either from the kids in Canada or from her own end.

My mom has visited Canada before and even had to overstay her 6 months allowable with 3 days because of circumstances beyond her control, i took her to the airport and explained to CBSA why she could not fly that day even though she was expected to leave..CBSA advised on what to do and asked that when she wants to renew her visa we should make sure to attach an explanation letter to why that has to happen without which she may be denied. To renew i did exactly what they asked and attached her changed flight ticket to the application. My mom submitted her passport today 28th Jan for visa to be affixed.

So my point is go back and check all what was submitted and you will find out why she was denied. However you can reapply again.

I suspected an overstay or a defect in previous visa usage as reason for the denial.

Learnt something new but quite risky from @the bolded.

Hmmmmmmm. Lots of people used medicare and got away with it. Celebrities too, they were all getting their visas renewed till the laws changed. Plenty people are on the medicare table ooooo. Self pay discount is even a more recent stuff.

I understand that too. I'm looking at the last 5 years or thereabouts actually. You can't touch Medicaid and go scot-free no more, you die well! Most of us know that and won't touch! Is it celebrities with paparazzi lifestyles that would now touch? I doubt.

I know of a few, only not drawing inferences because these are gospel related celebrities, some will argue that that is why they paid, but I believe celebrities lifestyle won't allow them dumbly lose the American visa and visits opportunity having tasted it at all. Fake life will actually make them clean such mess without hesitation.

My brother, things dey happen in the U.S. pertaining to this childbirth business oh! Take this scenario for example. A woman is rushed into the ER already in labor, no prenatal history whatsoever. The hospital is duty bound to deliver the baby then ask questions later .
Good luck to them collecting a penny later grin. In reality, a baby does not need to be delivered in a hospital for citizenship rights to be established. A midwife can deliver the baby at home and file a certificate of live birth certified by other witnesses. In some cities close to the border, immigrants illegally cross the border and deliver their babies at home. They call and a first responder shows up, witnesses the birth and certifies the live birth. The woman then goes back across the border and continues her daily life with her U.S. citizen child who will come back later in life to enjoy the benefits of being a citizen. Nigerians still dey apprenticeship when it comes to anchor baby business!

Yeah, I understand all these. That Nigeria celebrities will enter plane to the US for childbirth purpose and not pay is what doesn't sit right. When you can at the least (before recent developments) hustle for a less than 3-5k package to birth with, and make Twood and his "gang" go gaga cheesy. There are very grave consequences known to a lot of people birthing in the US if you dare not pay.

Is it not celebrities that want to go back to the US with same kids and be "brandishing" them? Where does that hope lie then when the rule of thumb is that "if you don't pay, and you step out of the US, kiss ever visiting there again goodbye"? That punishment alone is constraining enough to "frustrate" you to look for how to make payment, a celebrity - the Nigeria brand particularly - will not be careless with that methinks, visiting the US subsequently is as good as life and the air they breathe to them na undecided.

Hello everyone, been reading up on this post for a while. I am a mum who had her baby in the US 3years ago. I have since renewed my us visa and travelled a couple of times. However I intend to start Planning a second child in a few months. I intend to get a Canadian visa with all this buhaha going on in US. I had a Canadian visa once in 2011 and I never renewed. Now I want to plan way ahead. Will starting my visa application now make sense since I’m planning next year for birthing by God’s Grace. I heard Canadian visa can take between 4weeks to 7months.
Since I’m not pregnant yet, I was hoping to apply now for holidays. Get my visa, go on holidays and come back and keep the visa for birthing.
How many years do they generally give on Canadian visas now ?

Go ahead and execute this plan now. You however will still have to declare childbirth at POE when the time comes too, all things being equal. Validity of visa granted will range between a year and whatever validity is left on the passport you are applying with itself. Best wishes!

Save for the Dubai family holiday, you'd have been so surprised how they will so know him to filter out. He has no other SOLID variable/stat and tie going for him to be honest with you. This is 2020!

And if that question "where have you all travelled to together?" does not pop up during the interview, his chances may even become slimmer. If it comes to him as an individual in form of "where have you travelled to before?", he better be quick to let them know it was a family trip.
