I swear! I really wonder where people hear these their narrations o. Chim o. It's no longer ritual, or killing one another cos of land it's cannibalism!

Then, funny enough, from Lagos to East, there is not stop for relaxation after the niger bridge, there is o but many times they don't stop because it's believed you should have gotten what you needed in Ore, and there is no luxury of time.

Tomorrow is Saturday and we all know what goes down on Saturdays .
 *Owambe tip 101*
(Guest).

Never attend any event with empty tommy. Even if it's your best friend event or even if you are part of the planning committee. EAT before going for any event biko.

Even me as a planner I order for food or fruits or biscuits and eat before event commence. (Event hosts and planners).

Try as much as possible to position the serving point far or away from the guests eyes except for buffet.

Whenever, the food is opened, the aroma fills the hall and it's normal for people to get aggregated

I prefer my food vendors to set up outside, and that's why most halls now have vendors arena.

Business / The Business Of Planning Events. by ONKEvents(f): 12:43am On May 21, 2019
10 years ago, if anyone had told me that I would be planning events, especially weddings, I would have called the person the biggest false prophet of all time.

I am a very shy person (my shyness is not comparable) and hate social gathering. As a child, I hated birthday parties, especially the dancing competition (I can not dance to save my life). I can count all the weddings I have attended before I became a planner. They are not up to 5.

But today, I feel so alive planning events. If I am not planning or coordinating events, I feel incomplete. I feel sick and empty.

What do you do? Has it always been in the plan or you just stumbled on it?

Romance / Re: Depression by ONKEvents(f): 12:20am On May 21, 2019
Thank you for all these. Lot of eye opening

Altern8:
The kind of depression that leads to suicide is not what most of you are describing here. You are referring to sadness/disappointment.

Clinical depression is a mental health challenge. It is not something you can advise anyone to snap out of. It requires medication and professional counselling sessions.

Hope you now see why many of those who eventually commit suicide go ahead despite all the advice and tough love they’ve been receiving. It is not a simple phase that can be overcome by financial success or a beautiful new girlfriend. It is a persistent mental condition.

There is a group, active on twitter called Mentally Aware. Contact them if you think your depression is not just deep sadness.

And please stop saying suicidal people are mentally weak or they have poor upbringing. That cannot be any further from the truth.

One example is Robbin Williams, a rich and successful Hollywood actor. He committed suicide despite having all of the things most of you are praying to get. I also read about a top executive who committed suicide shortly after a trip in his private jet. His business was on the upward trajectory and he had loving family members (as stated in his suicide letter). They still don’t know when he became depressed cos it wasn’t evident at all, at least until they read his suicide note after his demise.

Medical help is the way forward for depression. Do not trivialise it by saying hurtful things to those suffering from it.

If you think you overcame it on your own without help from a psychiatrist or any knowledgeable person, then what you went through was most probably NOT depression. It was just a phase of sadness.

Hmmmm. True. I know of 2 people who committed suicide while I was in school.

Deicide:
There have always been rise in suicide only difference is that people put their shít on social media, making seems as if it doesn't happen before.

Romance / Re: Depression by ONKEvents(f): 2:00am On May 20, 2019
I can relate, but you can not be jobless. You don't need to resume an office to have a career. Start freelance marketing, dropshipping, official errand running(I have a friend that helps a company, submit letters, collect cheques and pay them to the company account. And he collects 30k monthly, and he only needs to run these errands 4x a month. Imagine doing it for more than 1 company) all you need for most of these is smart phone and data.

My motto nowadays is I refuse to be pressured.

If your siblings are disrespecting you, it's because they have seen you too much, get friends you can stay over theirs for a week, return stay few weeks home and disappear again. Then another thing is learn to stay your lane and don't trespass theirs. Most times when my elder ones are pucking their nose in my wahala or always acting bossy those days, that's when we remember that they are not ashamed their mates are working and they are here acting all bossy at home.

Stay safe! It's just a phase

dgee1:
Maybe a bit off-topic here but being jobless brings massive depression. My depression heigthens every Sunday evening remembering there's nothing to do and no where to go on Monday. I feel like a complete bum.

Siblings have lost respect for me and so many bulshits ....its crazy. Here in the dark, blackness

Romance / Re: Depression by ONKEvents(f): 1:25am On May 20, 2019
So much sense... I will still not totally agree on poor upbringing, though a lot of parents have left their responsibilities to the hand of strangers.

People need to understand that social media is fake, made believe. Nothing is real there.

About being selfish, self centre, I doubt o. One committed suicide because the girl had sex with threatened to release their sex video(To me, this is the act of what will the church/society think of me). Most of these people forget that they are human and the bible no promise a world free of trouble and tribulation but you will overcome all. And be rest assured that God will not allow you carry a cross bigger than you.

I feel pride is also another reason

Prognose:
I'll go with
poor upbringing.

This indomie generation were not taught anything about principles and responsibility. They were not taught about patience and endurance. All they know is self-satisfaction. Love for themselves and no one else. No belief in a higher purpose, little or no belief in Christianity as a cross-carrying journey, rather they see religion as a get-rich quick scheme or don't believe in it at all.

The current set of parents spoilt thier kids silly in a bid to make their kids enjoy what they didn't. They didn't teach them forbearance.

Now these kids that have no roots are exposed to the world through social media. They see success but don't see the struggle behind it. Even their phone cameras edit the truth of thier images, making them pretty when in reality they are covered in pimples. To them life is a mirage and they can't see a way forward so they end it not regarding the consequences to themselves or those around them.

some say it's spiritual,

some say it's due to some pressure,

but I think it's due to lack of vision and drive.

people that commit suicide lack da vision to look ahead, and plan for da future.
they feel everything is just for da moment and datz y they decide to take their own lives.

heart break or not, no one should be blamed for da suicide another person committed.

I dey pity them sha, coz na hell fire straight

Spiritual? Big NO!.

I agree with you on others but not totally. For someone who has survived depression severally(the last one was worst menh) it's never intentional, vision helps you to hope for more but at times it's hard to see that vision when depression hits you real good. It got to a time I was fighting suicidal thoughts, I got rid of any possible weapon. I have gotten to terms with what got me depressed months before depression set in. I realised I suppressed it because I needed to be strong to move on and out. That's why it's good to cry. Male female, it's good to cry. Talk to someone, the person might not have the solution but you have spoken out and heard yourself too.

80% of the nigerian suicide cases I read in the news are relationship related

We all know that the economy is on RED alert but do you think that emotional trauma(things of the heart) relationships contribute to the high rise in suicide these days? Or it's just financially related cases
