It is foolish to have a policy of providing for the poor. What is the criteria for considering who is poor? ... a person earning less that N50K salary? ... a family of four earning less that N125K per month? ....what is the source of this data? The intention of granting a leave of absence has actually been abused, the call by the minister was in order, if you're seeking an offer abroad, then you resign to free up the space and payroll.

Doesn't the leave of absence have a limit? If it's I definite I can see that is a problem. What is the difference between if someone took leave to seek greener pasture and someone who took leave to build house? How will one affect the payroll and the other wouldn't? How will one prevent others from getting employed and the other wouldn't? If there isn't a limit... then there should be one. As in .... 60 days max leave of absence. If the employee doesn't show up ... warning letter/email sent for termination if he doesn't resume work within 5 days. In this way what the person does within the leave period doesn't matter ... the focus is on their return to work. If he doesn't... he's terminated .... he's off the payroll and is replaced. Limit to leave of absence period is key.

Isn't a person free to request leave of absence? That's an option ... whether to travel to test the waters or personal reasons. Why say it's a free world and dictating one must resign? I do agree with you 100% that the 5 year mandated service before being certified should be the priority. That would take care of this problem. If I were a nurse ... and want to seek greener pasture .... do I have to state my real intention? Nurses will simply say they want the time for personal reasons and japa.... and the problem remains. I'm sure nurses will not resign until they travel and settled in the new job. They may not even resign.

Hmmm..... they already have the money .... will there be a refund?... what penalty is in the contract if they failed to do as in the contract? Who was in government was responsible for quality control? ... what were they doing all along? The problem is ... no consequences.

Ukraine didn't join NATO, they were not even close because the process is long and they haven't met some of the basic requirements.


The invasion of Ukraine by Russia was unjust.


If Ukraine had joined then it's a different thing. NATO kept assuring Russia that Ukraine wasn't going to join, even Turkey refused and Turkish President assured Putin that he wouldn't ratify Ukraine membership which meant Ukraine wasn't going to join.

Why don't they simply cut our aid from Israel and force them to stop the genocide and sufferings? My view... certain things need to be considered:
1. Are the buildings in a prohibited area? e.g on a waterway? If yes ... such buildings should be demolished period. If the owner was given an official permit .... then the building should be fully compensated ... the official who signed off on the permit charged ... sentenced ... and fined the compensation amount or more.
2. If the buildings are not in a prohibited area ... do not violate the building codes ....and the owners have official permits then their buildings shouldn't be demolished. If they don't have official permits... or no records of permits ... demolition.
Before looking into demolition they need to have their house in order... internal investigations to determine their officials who were issuing permits to build on illegal areas. Those officials need to be fished out and charged or it will be business as usual..... corruption from within.
