The people of Udu local government area of Delta State has enumerated various reasons why the immediate past Councillor in Udu Hon Joseph Choja is preferred aspirant for the Udu Council chairmanship race .

Okowa, others present as Alika Lucky buries father in grand style, gives scholarship

The Executive Assistant on youth mentoring to the Delta State Governor Mr Alika Lucky on friday laid his father Late Mr Felix Onyeagwam Alika to rest at Abavo in Ika South Local government area of Delta State.

Mr Alika during the ceremony gave out scholarship to the best student in his community in honoring his late father legacy .

Late Mr Felix Onyeagwam Alika died at 75 after a brief illness.

The immediate past governor of Delta State Sen Ifeanyi Okowa , Commissioners , immediate past local government chairmen, traditional rulers , religious leaders , business owners joined the family members at the funeral ceremony.

Mr Alika during the funeral ceremony expressed his appreciations to everyone who supported and graced the occasion.

He said his late father was an upright man whose legacy will lives on .

Alika promised to carry on with the legacy his father left behind noting that life is all about impacts .

Delta Youths are happy with Oborevwori- Alika

The Executive Assistant on youth mentoring to the Delta State Governor Mr Alika has said the youths in Delta State are proud of the Governor Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori achievements in the last few months .

Alika who disclosed this while meeting with youths in Abavo in Ika South noted that the governor has done well in the area of youth development considering the engagement of youths in the state .

He said with the short period of Oborevwori administration, over 3,000 youths has been engaged and employed by the state government.

While commending the governor for being a youth friendly governor, he urged the youths to continue giving the governor the needed support in advancing Delta State.

“I have been to various part of the state monitoring and mentioning youths and I can categorically state that the youths are happy with the governor .

The governor achievements thus far are overwhelming and deserved to be celebrated considering the short period he has stayed as Governor.

I am aware the ministry of youths will be rolling out job creation initiatives where more youths will be fully engaged.

The number of jobs created by the governor has made the youths to build more confident in him.

274 years later , Onishe Ezemu 1 laid to rest by new Onishe of Ubulu Uku kingdom and Umu Onishe Ezemu

It was a celebration in Ubulu Uku Aniocha South area of Delta State as the Onishe Ezemu 11 Chief James Asika Onwordi Endurance known as Ibori ubulu, the Umu Onishe Ezemu in unity laid to rest their patriarch, the revered Onishe Ezemu 1 after 274 years of waiting, the family gathered to honor and bury their father, who passed away 274 years but whose burial was delayed by the circumstances surrounding his death.

In a poignant display of love and respect, Onishe Ezemu 11 Chief James Asika Onwordi Endurance known as Ibori ubulu joined his relatives in this final act of closure, fulfilling a long-awaited duty to their ancestor.

The burial of Onishe Ezemu 1 symbolizes the unity and strength of the Umu Onishe Ezemu family, as they come together to pay their last respects and bid farewell to their beloved father.

As they lay him to rest, surrounded by memories and shared history, the Umu Onishe Ezemu honor the legacy of Onishe Ezemu 1, keeping alive his spirit and teachings in their hearts.

This day serves as a reminder of the enduring bond of family and the power of love to transcend time and distance.

The Senior Special Assistant on youth mobilization to the Delta State Governor Hon James Onwordi Endurance known as Ibori Ubulu has called on youths to get ready for more jobs which according to him will be created within 2024 by the Delta State Governor Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori.

Onwordi disclosed this while interacting with youths at Ubulu Uku in Aniocha South of Delta State .

He noted that though the governor created jobs in 2023, he is more ready to create more jobs in this 2024 considering how committed he is towards the people of Delta State .

While calling on Deltans to show the governor unalloyed support irrespective of our political differences, he assured Deltans that thousands of jobs will be created and youths in Delta State will be fully engaged .

“2023 has been impactful because some of the promises made by the governor of Delta State Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori came into reality.

This year , Deltans should expect more jobs creation from the Governor.

He has done it before and will do it again this year 2024 .

The Senior Special Assistant to the Delta State Governor on Youth Mobilization, Mr. James Endurance Onwordi popularly known (Ibori Ubulu) has said that the People's Democratic Party (PDP) in Aniocha South and indeed in the entire Delta State had buried the opposition and that the Governor of Delta State, Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori is committed towards delivering the MORE agenda to the people.

He made this assertion while playing host to the Aniocha South PDP Media and Publicity Committee members, who paid him a congratulatory visit.

According to Onwordi, Oborevwori won’t fail in keeping to his campaign promises.

He noted that the achievements of Oborevwori in the past few months is an evidence that he is a promise keeper.

"I made up my mind to work for the party (PDP) because I am convinced it is the right thing to do in order to bring the dividends of democracy to my people.

The Senior Special Assistant on Youth Mobilisation Hon James Endurance Onwordi knows as Ibori Ubulu has bagged Delta civil society man of the year award.

The Doyen of civil society award of recognition tagged “The Champion of citizens award” was presented to Hon Onwordi during the 2023 edition of the Delta State Civil Society Day event which took place at the State Government house Asaba.

According to the organizer Comrade Rex Ekiugbo Anighoro , the award was in recognition of Onwordi’s contribution to community development , environmental clean up , good governance, humanitarian services, youth and women empowerment.

The ‘Delta Civil Society Day’ is an annual event held EVERY 14TH OF DECEMBER since the year 2016 as set aside to bring Civil Society leaders together to have conversations for the well-being of society, review and evaluate the state of the Civil Society in Delta State and the Nigerian Union collectively, as well as set agenda for Government, the Society and every other stakeholder for the greater good of the Citizens.

The House of Representatives member representing Isoko Federal Constituency, Pastor Jonathan Ukodhiko has urged the Delta State Social Media Team to protect the image of the state at all times.

Ukodhiko made this known during a meeting with the Members of Social Media team led by media influencers, Mr Ossai Ovie Success, Etolor Anslem and Ogbe Collins on Tuesday in Asaba.

According to Ukodhiko, young people on the social media space should be more objective in their reportage and ensure that their criticism must be constructive in order to balance and shape public opinion in the state.

Ukodhiko who kicked against the use of social media malign people as well as cause disunity among leaders, said there is need to use the media space to create positive impact that will improve the fortunes of the state and attract investors.

While using the opportunity to thank the Isoko people for supporting him during the last election, he promised to fulfill the campaign promises made to the people during the electioneering period.

He further tasked the media handlers to keep up with the job of promoting and protecting the administration of Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori and ensure that adequate coverage is given to programmes of the government, stating that the administration will advance Delta more.

Delta School of Nursing Upgraded to College of Nursing

Okowa set for flag off ceremony on Monday

The Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria has approved a college status for the Delta State School of Nursing to College of Nursing.

According to Delta State Director of the School of Nursing, Ministry of Health Mrs. Gloria Igumbor, the state currently have five schools of Nursing and midwifery which include School of Nursing in Agbor, Warri and Eku while the School of midwifery Asaba and Sapele .

She noted that school of nursing indexing number formally Agbor was 30 but through the intervention of the Governor of Delta State Sen Ifeanyi Okowa, it has increased to 100 which is one of the few state in Nigeria with the highest indexable number of students for Nursing and Midwifery programs while Eku and Warri formally 50 now 75 each .

“The School of midwifery Asaba and Sapele was formally Post Basic now Basic Midwifery.

The States in the federation only has one college of Nursing but Delta State has been given three .

The flag off will be done by the Governor of Delta State Sen Ifeanyi Okowa on monday at Agbor , Ika South Delta State.

Upgrading the schools to college gave the schools opportunity to run their programme aside nursing and it bring about the certificate from OND to HND and BSC Degree .

Community nursing and Community midwifery programmes were also introduced to the schools.

Governor Okowa has repositioned the state to be a medical hub.

He deserved to be commended for his giant strides in the health sector.” she said .

Delta 2023: Sheriff takes early lead, defeat closest contender Omo-Agege

Results from 16 Local Governments in Delta State declared by Inec Officials at various Units and Wards as seen on Ossai Ovie Success social media pages and other pages has placed the Governorship Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori in a clear lead over his closest contender, Sen Ovie Omo-Agege of the All Progressives Congress.

The Senior Special Assistant to the governor of Delta State on Political Affairs Hon Michael Irero has said that the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party in Delta State Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori will end the governorship Candidate of the All Progressive Congress APC Sen Ovie Omo-Agege political career by defeating him come 2023 governorship election.

According to Irero , Omo-Agege should have gone back to the senate instead of contesting for governorship election knowing fully well that he has low acceptability in Delta State.

He noted that Oborevwori is more accepted than other governorship candidates considering his impacts over the years since he ventured into politics.

Irero Started that Deltans are aware of Oborevwori antecedents and capacity.

Presenting the award, Director General, DG, CONYSSA, Ambassador Ade Mario Emmanuel said the award was in his outstanding recognition in the protection of lives and properties .

Senator Bassey Albert Akpan and his supporters have been warned to desist from further blackmail and smear campaigns against Governor Udom Emmanuel, over the current legal imbroglio of the Young Progressives Party’s gubernatorial candidate.

A major advocacy group, Akwa Ibom Integrity Alliance in a reaction by its Chairman, Barr Stephen Abia, said it was unfair and uncharitable for the embattled senator to transfer blames of his travails to the doorsteps of Governor Emmanuel who neither originated the charges nor even knows of the facts of the case.

The group opined that to remotely or directly blame Governor Emmanuel for the probe of Bassey Akpan’s financial impropriety, was devilish, wicked and malicious.

“From investigations by our team of professionals, Governor Emmanuel was not in office as Governor, when the case of bribery and corruption against Bassey Albert Akpan commenced”, said Barr Stephen Abia.

“The case was purely on the heels of a probe of the infamous alleged slush funds against a former Minister of Petroleum Resources, where part of the funds where allegedly linked to a certain Jide Omokoro who confessed during investigation that he used the funds to bribe Senator Albert Akpan through car donations amounting to N204million to get contracts.

“For the avoidance of doubts, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission arrested and detained Senator Akpan over cars that he had allegedly received as bribe from Jide Omokore while serving as Akwa Ibom Finance Commissioner and Chairman of the State Inter-Ministerial Direct Labour Coordinating Committee.

“Investigations show that the Omokore's companies – Bay Atlantic Energy and Sahel Energy – received contracts from the Senator Akpan’s InterMinisterial Direct Labour Coordinating Committee and the EFCC claimed the vehicles were used to bribe Akpan.

“We have discovered that it is only on the basis of jurisdiction that the case could not be decided a long time ago when the trial was conducted at Justice O.A. Taiwo presided Federal High Court in Lagos, hence the case was reassigned to the federal high court in Uyo in line with Senator Albert Akpan’s argument that the offense took place in Uyo.

“When he was testifying at the High Court, Senator Albert admitted receiving the car bribe from Omokaro and further brought some members of his campaign team as witnesses that they were given the contentious vehicles to campaign for Albert’s elections in 2015.

“Throughout the duration of this trial and till this moment, there is no record that the Akwa Ibom State government was a party in the case, nor can it be said that Governor Emmanuel or any of his appointees had testified in the case. It is therefore worrisome that Senator Bassey Albert would come out to castigate the Governor for a sin he allegedly committed when Governor Emmanuel had not assumed office”, the group enthused.

According to Barr Stephen Abia, himself an indigene of Ibiono Ibom local government where Bassey Albert also hails from, the people of Ibiono Ibom have disassociated themselves from the corruption allegations against their son, and are also ready to remain in support of the transparent leadership of Governor Emmanuel, which has brought about monumental feats in the State since 2015.

Judgement in the case is expected to come up on Friday this week at the Federal High Court in Uyo.

Omaduvie Canvasses Supports For Atiku-Okowa, Sheriff-Onyeme and Diden

A chieftain of the People’s Democratic Party in Isoko Delta State Amb Sunday Omaduvie has urged Isoko people to support the Presidential Candidate of the PDP Atiku Abubakar and his running mate Governor Ifeanyi Okowa including the governorship candidate of the PDP Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori and his running mate Monday Onyeme .

Omaduvie who made the call while hosting Otor Owhe youths said the PDP administrations in Delta State has been of great benefit to Deltans.

He commended Governor Okowa for his fairness in the distribution of dividends of democracy to the people of Deltans despite the challenges.

Omaduvie urged the youths not to support any other party apart from PDP noting that the Atiku-Okowa and Sheriff-Onyeme tickets are what is needed in Delta State and Nigeria.

He also urged the youths to drum their support for the Senatorial candidate of the PDP in Delta South Hon Michael Diden Ejele .

“As a youth in Isoko , I know what is good for my fellow youths and that is why I am bringing the message of Atiku-Okowa, Sheriff-Onyeme and Michael Diden Ejele .

They have the interest of the youths considering their antecedents in the past years and what they are capable of doing when elected come 2023.

Yahaya Bello Blackmailing Natasha and Her Husband-Kazeem

Nigeria Young Entrepreneur, Tanimu Kazeem has accused the Governor of Kogi State Yahaya Bello of blackmailing the Senatorial candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in Kogi central Mrs Natasha Akpoti Uduaghan and her husband Emmanuel Uduaghan Junior .

Kazeem who disclosed this in Lokoja said the latest news about Natasha blackmailing her husband into marrying her is false and is being sponsored by the Governor of Kogi State Yahaya Bello because Natasha exposed his relationship with the terrorist Safiu who has been arrested.

According to Kazeem, Natasha has never blackmailed anyone and there was no time she blackmailed her husband into marrying her.

Kazeem who stated that Natasha and Her Husband Union was match made in Heaven accused the Governor of Kogi State Yahaya Bello of being hell-bent on tarnishing the image of Natasha by paying Dotun Oladipo millions of naira to write unfavorable stories against Natasha.

He called on Nigerians to disregard Yahaya Bello blackmail tactics.

“The kind of politics being played by the Governor of Kogi State Yahaya Bello is childish and should be resisted by the people of Kogi state.

Natasha is not contesting for the governorship seat neither is she contesting for the senate position with Yahaya Bello .

Yahaya Bello name is not on the ballot box in Kogi Central where Natasha is contesting the Senate Seat yet he is hell-bent on tarnishing the image of Natasha because she is politically stronger than him and his senatorial candidate.

Why on earth should Yahaya Bello accused Natasha of blackmailing her husband into marrying her knowing fully well that they just had a baby and are living perfectly fine.
