Romance / I Am Never Snapping Naked Pictures On My Phone! by ournaijablog(f): 2:05pm On Aug 03, 2016
Few days ago I decided to open a new blog, during the process of registration I was asked for a profile picture, I wanted to upload from my phone but Google gave me the option of either uploading from my Samsung Galaxy S3 or my S5, I was confused, I stopped using the S3 more than a year ago, how would Samsung do this magic and bring up pictures from a phone which I had given to my brother, anyway I didn’t even bother to click, I just clicked that of the S5, what I saw almost gave me a heart attack.

I saw pictures of both past, present, imaginary, crushes, boyfriends, exes, me, not so me, ugly me, cute me, I am not so sure that’s me, and so many pictures I had deleted, my mind was doing backflit inside my body, then I remembered all those backups Google was always asking me to do, I didn’t even know the thing worked, so what if my email was hacked, that’s how I will be over the internet I asked myself, ahan, this world sef.

Probs Is I dunno how to delete it, so some day, if you see my picture posing with one boy on the internet, sincerely blame Google, it wasn’t me.

Add a little humor in your life.

Music/Radio / Re: Nigeria Has The Best Rappers But Worst Hip-hop Makers In Africa by ournaijablog(f): 9:32am On Jul 14, 2016
That's what we tryna do @ Undergroundcontest.com we all about rap and hiphop

So nigeria has many good rappers infact we are number 1 in africa, punchlines, wordplay, metaphors, flow, we gat them all, but there a clear difference between Hip-hop and a song you just rap on. Many rappers think if you rap on the song it becomes Hip-Hop, NO! For example Pit Bull is an american rapper but his genre of music is Pop. Some Nigerians have even created the name Afro-Hip-Hop whereas I don't think there is anything like that, is either you make afro pop or you make hip-hop, but must nigerian rapper especially now a days make and rap on afro pop more, the are all looking for party bangers mean while as a Rapper that makes hip-hop Party songs should be out of your way. I'm not saying is bad to do Afro Pop, I mean if you have the skills to do them, while not? But do not sacrifice Hip-hop because of it or rather just sing on them like other afro pop artist, after all the biggest afro pop songs are sang on. But my honest advice no nigerian rappers is if you doing hip-hop please focus on it alone, because if you try your hands on afro beat you would never make bigger songs than even skales(which in my opinion is an afro beat artist that can do some rhyming).

You Think Nigerians don't like hip-hop? That's the lie they tell every artist, infact majority of nigerians listen to hip-hop when its good, yes majority. You can try this little survey and ask people on you BBM/Whatsapp list which genre they listen to and you would see the results. So if they listen to hip-hop it means you can make hit songs ot of hip-hop, yes you can. Bad Belle was a hit song, but sadly the only Hip-hop hit song that came out from nigeria within the last 2-3 years, not because other hip-hop songs could not make it, but because they were no other hip-hop songs, sadly even MI gave more afro pop on his album and I'm sure he would be surprise that it was the hip-hop track that turned out to be the Biggest track on the Album.
King-Kong was close to what should hav been called a Hit song, but the song did not really hit like that. Yung 6ix - Doinz, hotyce - Kilofoshi, Ill -bliss - Bank alert, phyno - asai amongst others, as you can see these songs where popular to some extent, but did not really hit that mark, the reason is because all these songs where done by different nigeria rappers who once in a while. Their head correct small say make them make hip-hop, they lack consistency and in seconds would jump back to afro beat, now imagine aall these songs listed above was droped by one person..... All would had been hit songs, and it is possible for a rapper to sit down and make good hip-hop sounds like this continuously, but they just won't.

Even davido did an Hip-Hop song(fans mi) and it was bigger
than all nigerian rappers song. Forget meek mill, its not today nigerian started featuring american artist, some of they songs never became hit song.

And some times they will and shoot no video for it, then shoot video for their afro pop song? Example MI(sadly, its very sad to me cos I took him as a role model and my best rapper) shoot the video(which was poor BTW) for Bullion Van was NO NO NO, I mean there is Millionaire champagne, there is human being, their is Third Mainland Bridge, their is Back from the future, why shoot video(promote) for Bullion Van?

But the case is different in the rest of africa, and for years upon years the biggest songs in africa are Hip-Hop songs, south africa is a county where their top ten chart is most times 100% Hip-Hop this is something nigeria rappers can't do for only God knows why....

Stanley enow. Cameroon rapper/Hip-Hop artist drop an album and made charts 3 times and still counting with hip-hop songs 1. Njama njama cow ft sarkodie 2. King Kong ft dj neptune 3. Work hard. And he is a very poor rapper with terrible voice. You can imagine. They play his songs here in nigeria more than nigerian hip hop songs.

Caspper Nyovest. Even here in nigeria everbody knew and could sing shebeleza doc doc shebeleza, all the way from south africa, pack channel o awards like say na water, even my aunty where no no anything was singing shebeleza after watching the awards, MAMA best Hip-Hop artist award winner, droped an abulm and shot about 6 videos which peak charts simultaneously, all hip-hop. 1. Gusheshe 2. Doc shebelaza 3. Doc shebelaza remix ft talib kweli 4. I hope you bought it 5. Phumakim 6. Ghetto 7. Tsilib , all sick Hip-hop tacks, One Abulm! Why Naija no fit do this kind thing ehn? He is a very good rapper no doubts, but nigeria have very good rappers too! Why can't we win that MAMAs?

Sarkodie. This one una know. He still does real hip-hop upon his success unlike some people like MI

A.K.A. The guy came to Nigeria and was felling like the biggest star in the country, na Hip-hop bring am to that level o! His song "all eyes on me" was the opening song performed at the MAMAs and later grabed an award, songs like Congratulations, Run Jozi, where even big songs here in Nigeria.

If you go to youtube and search for "south african Hip-Hop" you get results like "ricky rick - boss zonke" "KO - one time" "cassper nyovest - ghetto" "witness the funk - nomusa" "aka - sim dope" "dj speedsta - special somebody" "Anatii - The Saga" e.t.c

If you go to youtube and search for "nigeria Hip-hop" what you get is "bracket - mama africa" "mavin - adaobi" "wizkid - azonto" "iyanya - kunkere" (and a lot of old songs). Practically NO RESULTS!!!

So Nigeria Rappers, I Take God Beg una, I'm part of you guys too, Let us Dedicate our time and Money And effort, amd make good hip-hop songs! Leave afro beat for afro beat artist! They won't leave afro beat and do hip-hop! Abeg! Ehn! Its not about bragging you are the best here and there!

Producers too have a role to play. Only few producers now like Kid Konnect actually make time out to create hip-hop, even MI is now using Sarz on shekpe. Kid konnect had to make beats and force feature rappers to rap on them. Songs like shalala air, Badagry, 4 horse men, Dictator Rap. All good Hip-Hop songs.

Me, I'm just saying my mind.
I love Hip-Hop and its Sad to see my country does not make them so I've too look out side to find them.
Thanks.

Romance / Ladies It’s Another Saturday And You’re Not Married. by ournaijablog(f): 9:16am On Jul 09, 2016
Ah the joy of most women is to get married, I mean this from the day you’re born as a woman your parents have already started daydreaming about how your wedding day is gonna be, even as a kid you already started fantasizing about your dream man, sorry to disappoint you not all women are destined to get married.

So many people are gonna become religious about this post saying for every man there is a woman and vice versa and God has destined each missing rib to find the other this is the mindset we have grown up with, the sooner we imbibe this orientation that not everyone is destined to get married the sooner our lives become our own. I wrote an article sometime ago asking if as a woman you should still be dating at 25? I got a lot of comments about it, some were of the opinion that at 25 you should be married with a kid at least, some said that’s the courtship year, very few women actually understood what that article was about, the race for marriage has become something else.

Society has played a very large role in deceiving all women that they must get married at a certain age, they have deceived women who are married not to keep single women as friends, they have deceived women into believing for them to be taken serious by society they need to be in a man’s house, please this is our lives, we aren’t robots.

Society has termed most independent women as unworthy of marriage, even most men run away from hustling independent ladies, they are seen as a competition, they are seen as not so wifely material, they are seen as disobedient and non-submissive, but truth be told these are the women who can handle marriage like an adult. Do you see the kids getting married these days? Most of these women can’t even handle a relationship, they don’t know the rudiments attached to marriage, but the pressure to get married has so gotten to them that they see their next relationship as the last one, they wanna get married so fast so they can answer “MRS” and leave the single “CLIQUE” and I am not surprised that after one kid they get tired of marriage and both parties start seeking divorce.

I am not against marriage, I never will be, Marriage is an institution and like nost institutions you have to write an exam before you’re given admission, most people don’t write these exams, they don’t know the A,B,C of marriage yet they go into it, not for the long term sake but for the now sake or the I was once married sake, have you seen the divorce rate globally? It’s a shocker and then we have kids who are caught in these dramas.

Ladies! Accept this fact, not all of us are gonna get married, not all of us are gonna have biological kids, not all of us are gonna wake up each morning in a man’s bed, this isn’t a curse, it’s the reality of life, do you stop to wonder as a woman why one particular woman has been divorced 5 times?, do you ever wonder why one woman was butchered in her matrimonial home? Have you ever stopped to wonder why women in marriages are either depressed or suicidal? I aint trying to discourage anyone but the truth must be told, don’t let other peoples opinion lead you to unhappiness, as a woman your potential are limitless, marriage in just a phase in your live why not try to explore the other phases.

Marriage isn’t happiness, we make marriage become our happy zone, marriage isn’t an escape route, marriage isn’t a financial secured zone, marriage isn’t all about looking pretty and having babies, marriage is deeper than all these things and if you do not understand that marriage is the holiest of all institutions then you aren’t ready for it.

Ladies before anything your happiness is tantamount, do not follow the crowd, stand out, achieve your dreams, you’re are fearfully made, if you know the size and amount of what you can achieve it will scare you, your life doesn’t have to stop at one phase, marriage is a bonus, in your pursuit of marriage don’t be stagnant pursue other things and see God do wonders in your life, this isn’t a post discouraging marriage, truth is marriage shouldn’t be handled lightly, it leaves scars in our souls when it don’t work out, and when we already have kids it becomes a problem because when we leave the kids have to deal with the fact that their mummy and daddy never loved each other, it makes them afraid to commit or love someone so that person in turn wouldn’t leave them, and if you decide to stay because of your kids, you end up very unhappy and this is as bad as leaving because you become psychologically unstable and this might lead to a lot of harm.

Ladies take your time, if you’re destined to get married believe me the right man will come sweep you off your feet, and it’s gonna be happily ever after but you have to work towards it good things don’t come easy and the harsh truth is happily ever after just isn’t for everyone.

Ibeji Isabella.

Religion / The Christian God Is Not A 20 Naira God. by ournaijablog(f): 10:37am On Jul 03, 2016
Pastors really have to stop saying this; this has always been my problem with most churches, the taxation known as offering. In most churches these days it’s the strength of your pocket that determines your blessings, it’s the strength of your wealth that determines how close you get to the pastor and his family, it’s the strength of your financial connections that determines if you get to sit close to the pulpit or with the pastor on the podium, it’s the strength of “who you know” determines if you sit in the crowd and watch the pastor from a live screen.

We all know churches are the biggest business in town now, oh yes! Or should I say corporate scam? Well whatever it is we now call pastors “PASTOPRENEURS” Man of God don’t serve the purpose anymore, a title has got to be attached to their name.

It’s basically the same in all churches these days, these men are good at emotional coercion, they make you feel guilty even when you don’t have to give in the first place, they whisper in your ears and tell you to give your all and how your rewards were in heaven and not on earth, I went to a church once; while we knelt down in the pulpit the man of God came and whispered in our ears and asked us how much we were willing to give God? When it got to my turn I said I had 5 thousand naira in my account, he said how much are you willing to give God? I said 3 thousand naira, well next day I went to the bank withdrew 3 thousand naira put it in an envelope and voila I was broke once again.

These men have no other jobs, they depend solely on the offerings and tithe of their congregants, if we don’t pay offerings they won’t eat; my uncle is a pastor, my mum got him a job but he quit and said the job wasn’t letting him serve God, wasn’t letting him read his bible so he went ahead to open his own church, well now things aren’t as good as we would have hoped for him considering he has very little congregation, I can imagine him standing on the pulpit shouting, don’t pay 20 naira as offering today, our God is not a 20 naira or a 50 naira God, don’t mock God by giving him so little, well God don’t come down to collect these tithes and offerings does he?

I want to be able to go to church and give what I have, I am so tired of the series of different offerings I have to give out, tithe, offerings, pastors offerings, pastor’s wife offerings, children’s offering, building offerings, sowing of seeds, intervention offerings, the list is unending.

Recently I was in a bus, this preacher began raining fire and brimstone in the bus, I thought with the velocity he preached the bus was going to tip over, these are the kind of preachers I call “JUDGES OF MANKIND” he said if you dress like a fornicator you would go to hell, please how do fornicators dress? Well he preached and preached and prayed and ended it with, I have to enter another bus and preach to others so they might be saved as ye have been saved, give the man of God money, donate so the work of God can go on, well everyone who had been saying amen in the bus went quiet, didn’t this man of God know these were Buhari times? Anyway no one moved an inch to give him money.

The real drama began when another pastor in the bus asked him these questions;

Man: sir, nice preaching, please what church do you worship with?

Preacher: so so so church?

Man: I am also a preacher I worship with deeper life bible church, please when next you preach, don’t ask people for money, it makes them feel you’re after money and whatever you might have preached to them they won’t believe, try and get a job because the word of God is free to all and doesn’t come with a price.

I was shocked; I turned my neck 360 to see this angel who had spoken, ehn, what! Someone can say this, oh no, I checked myself I wasn’t in a dream, everyone in the bus chorused the same thing, they said that wasn’t the first time they had seen this same preacher in the bus preaching and asking people for money, well money and Christianity sure have a thing in common these days, and so the preacher had this to say to the man;

Preacher: you shall be judged for this!

He alighted and then that was that, churches don’t even preach the word, they preach prosperity and “MTCN” I just get tired, how can I be expecting huge amount of money when I don’t work, lazy people expect miracles they didn’t work for, even the bible said “Heaven help those who help themselves.

My God is not a 20naira God, because my salvation has been paid for free on the cross of Calvary where Jesus paid for my sins with his blood, all these pastors just need to stop, they are good orators, they talk and talk and we shout and jump and scream amen and then we go home broke.

Ibeji Isabella.

Music/Radio / An Open Letter To Sasha P - Sasha P Needs A Comeback. by ournaijablog(f): 5:23pm On Jul 01, 2016
When you talk about the first rap queen in Nigeria, Sasha P comes to mind, born Anthonia Yetunde Alabi on 21 May 1983; Sasha came into the limelight with the trybesmen and she was the first and only lady of the trybes record.

Now what happened to Sasha? The last I heard of her was in 2012 when she opened her own clothing line “Eclectic” did the first Nigerian female rap queen give up on rap music?

Did you know she was the first ever Nigerian female artist to perform at the 20th anniversary of the World Music Awards in October 2008. She was also the first Nigerian female artiste to win the Best Female Award at MTV Africa Music Awards (MAMA).

Sasha had a large fan base in Nigeria, I was and still am her fan, she paved the way for endorsement deals, she was the first Female Samsung ambassador, and she was the Dagrin of rap music, paving way for other female rap queen to be recognized.
Sasha the rap industry needs you globally, please come back, apart from Eva Alordiah, no one sings anything related to rap music, I don’t even know what the beauty queen munachii sings, she should just stick to pageantry.

Sasha P all your songs were a hit back to back, even now Peter of Psquare has stolen your name, he now calls himself Mr. P, but you’re the only P we know, not only were you the first rap queen in Nigeria, you were the first sexy as hell rap queen with ass that would put the likes of some celebrities to shame. You need a comeback Sasha we at Underground contest says so, your brand of rap music hasn’t been heard in Africa for a long time and we miss that.

Africa’s No.1 Hip-Hop community needs you back in business, your core rap fans too. Just another hit song and all the other rap queens would know who’s main queen of Nigerian rap. it’s like comparing Lil Kim and Nicki Minaj, we all know who’s boss.

Still,
Isabella

Religion / Dreams And Demonic Possessions. by ournaijablog(f): 9:54am On Jun 26, 2016
Many importance have been attached to dreams, while some see it as just events occurring in our sleep, our imaginations acting out, premonitions or signs or locked up memories, I see dreams as either what was, what is or what might be.

When I was little, an uncle who’s a pastor would come to the house asking I and a little girl who stayed with us then the kind of dreams we dreamt; what kind of dream do you expect a child to dream? Kids tend to play in their dreams with their other friends but many religious sects see the interpretation of this dream as the initiation of a child into witchcraft.

Whenever this pastor came to the house to ask about our dreams I would tell him I didn’t dream and then I would get the belt, you see according to him; not dreaming is even worse than dreaming where you play with your friends, when I got tired of the belt and knew I could take no more beatings one day this and conversation ensued because I had the perfect dream for him. This dream was real anyways

Uncle: Ifeoma, tell me what did you dream about?

Me: ehn, today I dreamt o uncle but the dream was somehow I don’t understand and I cannot remember either.

Now you should know I just gave a monkey banana, his interest was all on me, he wanted to hear the dream I dreamt that I couldn’t remember, this would determine how possessed I was or could be.

Uncle: what do you mean you cannot remember, you want me to flog you?

Me: No!

Uncle: go ahead and tell me then.

Me: we were plenty children all wearing white, sitting by the river, without hair made beautifully, we were so happy and jumping up and down swimming and eating fruits and then a woman came to take us away and I woke up.

The look on his face was priceless, the shock was inexplicable, and his mouth was wide open, I was happy my dream had that effect on him but I didn’t expect what happened next.

Uncle: Mama Ifeoma! Mama Ifeoma! Nne Ifeoma!

My mum comes hurrying in, she asks; what is it?!!!!

Uncle: your daughter is possessed by Marine Spirit!

Please permit me to laugh here because this article just brought back memories…..hehehehehehehe, I laughed then just as I laughed now, oh and my mother laughed also, I was an ugly baby, an ugly child, my mother asked him

Mum: ehn Nna I thought all those water babies were pretty? Who want to possess this stubborn pikin? This one that might even possess the possessor.

Uncle: it doesn’t matter, all of you have to come t my church for deliverance, there’s this man of God coming that I have invited for a program for 21 days, we would fast, pray and then a deliverance session will take place for Ifeoma, I tell you; your child has been initiated.

I wouldn’t want to say Africans are always superstitious when it comes to dreams; we attach so much importance to it. I have dreamt dreams that came to pass; sometimes it’s like de ja vu, we have this feeling we have experienced something like this and then we get this chill or Goosebumps on our skin but I can tell you dreams are just things we want to happen so bad or we wish would happen or we’re scared might happen, so our sub-consciousness acts on our fears, joys or expectations and it becomes a live movie while we sleep.

You want to know my favorite dream? Food! Yes; my imaginations take another turn when It comes to food, I go to bed hungry and wake up filled, there’s always a buffet in the dream, pick your choice, my favorite food in the dream is always fried rice, and this happens when I haven’t had that in a long time.

Dear people, there is no such thing as a dream initiation and I don’t fly at night or suck blood, I have eaten enough food to possess a nation but I am still here hale and hearty and not initiating anyone either, we would forever have dreams, do you know some people don’t dream? Yes some don’t I see this people as having a very boring life.

You know why I attach no spiritual importance to dreams, because I dream every night, during a nap, or when I wake up to pee and fall right back to bed, I have an overactive imagination, whatever movie I see at night must be acted in my dream where I either become the villain or the hero, this happens all the time, yesterday I saw Games Of Thrones, well you should imagine what my dream last night would be about.

Eating in the dream doesn’t make you possessed it just means you’re hungry

Swimming in the dream don’t make you a marine baby, you might have a phobia for swimming like me and just want to act it out in your sleep.

Having sex in the dream don’t make you have a spiritual husband, dear bro\sis you’re just Hot

Going back to primary school in your dream doesn’t mean your stagnant in life, some memories are locked away and we can only remember then through dreams.

We are just dreamers, who dream dreams, to make our sleep either fun or scary.

Romance / Nigerian Gay Activist Bisi Alimi Meets With Caitlyn Jenner {Photos} by ournaijablog(f): 5:07pm On Jun 25, 2016
I consider Bisi Alimi to be a friend and a mentor, my chest swells with pride whenever I read on the news his several accomplishment for the LGBT people all over he world, he indeed is an icon sexuality or not he’s a good “Diva” and a force to be reckoned with in the struggle for the recognition of same sex marriages all over the world and African precisely

This was culled from his Facebook wall with his permission ofcourse, he recently was in Aspen doing what he knows best and also having a good time and Voila a Kardashian walks up to our very own Bisi, none other than CAIT herself.

Bisi,
Yesterday after my panel on “What’s Gender” With Buzz Bisisnger(he interviewed Cait for Vogue), Mona Eltahawy(the powerful Egyptian feminist) and Paula Johnson, the first African America to be the President of a prestigious all girls college in the US, I met Cait.

Cait and I have different politics and I made that very clear in my position. However, I will not hide from the fact that in the global Trans struggle there is a place for a Cait.

Prior to my leaving for Aspen, a very good friend suggested to broker a meeting between us, I ran to another friend, who is a mentor, she is black and she is America and a lesbian. I asked her what she thinks, while she was against me meeting Cait, she didn’t not completely oppose it.

I know Cait will be in Aspen but was not sure she would walked into the session.

There was something strange about her, completely different from the Cait on tv.

She walked in, very very shy, no security (not that you need one in Aspen, as everyone is assumed to be highly connected and important)

She quietly sat at the back. She doesn’t strike me like one of the members of the Kardasian clan.

She was really, really shy. I don’t know but I had my focus on her, I was watching her everyone move, I wanted to see just that one time she will let her guard down. I was disappointed. She was “normal”. Then she was ushered to the front row, right in front of me and that was when i realised we have actually been looking at each other.

After my session she came to me and we talked. We talked about a lot of things, this moment was captured by a lot of cameras and it will be featured in “The Boy From Mushin”.

Cait said something that was moving to me, she acknowledged her privileged and I raised the incident with Jennifer Finney Boylan with he and she said she is learning. I told her good for her and she has to do it fast.

She told me of a letter she got from a Trans person in Nigeria and ask what can she do.

Well I told her this battle is ours, not hers, she should keep doing what she is doing, learning and unlearning and when the time is right, she will be an ally.

We shook hands, smiled, took pictures, laughed and then just outside she asked, “what if we do lunch tomorrow? What if you can teach me one or two things Bisi?”. That was the first time she called my name. I was not sure but I took a risk and said yes.

Cait and I have different politics, she is right wing I am left wing, but we both have one mission; to project the voices of the unheard. Our approaches differ, she is a famous person, I am not. She is protected, I am not, but I think in our differences, our common goal unites us.

I will be seeking advice from people who knows best how I should handle this issue going forward, but this is an unfolding drama.

Romance / Stop Saying Men Are Polygamous By Nature! Its A Lie by ournaijablog(f): 4:59pm On Jun 25, 2016
So it’s been said men are polygamous by nature, they just cannot stick to one woman it’s hard for them they have said, there are so many women in the world and they need men even if that man belongs to someone else.

You see what I wrote “SUPRA” it’s a cock and bull story, men aren’t polygamous by nature it’s the promiscuous ones who are, they try to justify their lies and deceit by saying all men are the same, they cheat, they lie and they commit all sorts of nefarious acts. They say the women need us more than we need them so we’re just helping them out if not how will they ever get married or get a man or constantly have sex with the short supply of men in the world.

I have always been intrigued by same sex relationships; I have written articles on it and never backed down on my argument about the right to love whomever we want to love, I envy their relationships because I see lots of commitment and love, they aren’t like straight couples who always take love for granted, they say if this relationship fails there’s always someone else to date, it’s not the same for a same sex relationship because they know people see theirs as abominable and would fight tooth and nail to make theirs work.

Women! There’s no such thing as a shortage of men, so you don’t have to snatch your best friend’s boyfriend, you guys have been played into thinking cheating is normal, you guys have been had into thinking as long as you’re the main chic, that makes you more important; aren’t you supposed to be the main and only chic?!

I have seen a lot of faithful men, so I know not all men cheat neither are all men polygamous by nature, although as an African man or a traditional African man some of you are entitled to more than one wife, and some Muslims also but this is marriage and the women have been made to understand that they would never remain the only wife so I have no pity for them, there’s nothing to pity anyway because they walked into it eyes wide open.

Men cheat, women cheat, but don’t try to justify it by blaming scarcity lol nah please don’t, there is an abundance of both sexes to last us a life time, why not just stick to someone who sees you as the beginning and end of his\her world…..

Becareful how you break someone, because when you come back to try and fix them, they already are unfixable, scarred, and never to be the same again.

Music/Radio / Top 5 Living Hip-hop Legends. by ournaijablog(f): 1:11pm On Jun 23, 2016
When I listen to Hip-Hop I don’t listen to the beats I listen to the words, it’s like a treasure hunt where clues are left to be found, In every word there’s a message and each message leaves you with an insatiable question about “LIFE” and what to make of it.

Hip-Hop has been defined as “ART” “CULTURE” sometimes it’s been claimed to belong to a particular race “BLACKS” although this isn’t true but we all know Hip-Hop was the “THUGS” way of venting out his frustrations and getting his message across, Hip-Hop was substituted for “GUNS N DRUGS” it was substituted for “MURDER AND GANGLIFE” Hip-Hop was the “SALVATION” of the Thug’s life.

Today I am going to list my five all times best Hip-Hop artists of the 90’s

Andre Romelle Young: AKA Dr Dre, I call him the king of beats and a survival, Compton wasn’t the best of places to grow up but he only didn’t survive Compton he became the number one beats producer in the USA and a billionaire.

When I listen to “Bleep Tha Police” which happens to be my number 90’s favorite song, I see the black man’s struggle to not only be seen as a criminal or a drug addict but to be respected as a human being.

Snoop Lion Formerly known as Snoop Doggy Dog Also known as Snoop Dogg: I call him seductive Hip-Hop rapper; he’s number two on this list because of the album “Doggystle” wow I never get tired of listening and it was an incredibly huge success back in the day.

Stanley Kirk Burrell known professionally as M.C. Hammer: you remember the movie “Sharktale” by will smith? The theme song “Can’t touch That” yea that’s MC Hammer, I call these sets of people living legends; their past and present glory still speak for them, their songs are like drugs with people wanting more, MC Hammer takes the number 3 spot for top 5 Hip-Hop living legends from the 90’s.

O’Shea Jackson AKA Ice Cube: my second favorite from Compton, have you heard this guy rap hardcore? It runs in the family you know, his eldest son is also a rapper and a damn good one at that, he apparently wrote “Bleep Tha Police” with Dr Dre and Easy E. Ice Cube is noted as a proficient lyricist and storyteller and is regarded as a brutally honest rapper,nd he is considered one of the founding artists in gangsta rap, while fellow rapper Snoop Dogg ranked Ice Cube as the greatest MC of all time.

Trevor George Smith, Jr AKA Busta Rhymes: I call him the fastest rapper alive, phewww, can you mimic this artist? Nah I’d pass, he is so good that he has 11 Grammy nominations to his name, now beat that, he is a living legend of 90’s rap artist with hit songs after hit songs, he’s on this list because he’s earned his place as a rap god.

Now this is my top 5 list of Hip-Hop living legends of the 90’s, I’d be coming up with something more interesting and everyone gets to choose who should or shouldn’t be on the next lists.
