During my 200l in a federal university in the south, I didn't stay in the student quarters/lodge or hostel because I wanted my peace of mind, stayed in the GRA (government house) after all I hardly went to school.

One day on my way to school, a single female lecturer taking me a departmental course gave me a lift to school and due to my coordination we exchanged contact, from there things moved on really well.

If not for her don't know how I'd have paid for my apartment because things were somehow for me then, she met the caretaker and settled the payment for my flat because she knew him and we were neighbours kinda.

Nop I wasn't used be her, it was trade by barter and I'm lucky I met her. My grades in her course and few others were something to write home about. smiley

So did you do the do...your quote was a bit vague... smiley

I can't agree less. We are so sentimental, the west is actually setting the track well for us but we are too deep into corrupt tendencies that we don't know what it means again. See, US has the strongest internal control system in the world, we should learn from them and not see everything as a witch hot. Mind you, I am a fan to Adesina but if he is found wanting he should go in for it.

Thank you. The US have been shareholders of the bank since 1983. Close to 40 years. There have been about 5 presidents of the bank since then. So why are they raising this issue during the tenure of a Nigerian. There have been presidents from other African countries...Rwanda, Ghana et al. The big question is 'why now'.

Because our managerial practices here fall short of international best practices. It has been so ingrained in our moral fabric that we don't even consider them as malpractices. Winner takes all. I just hope that we the young ones can rise above the sentimentalism and find ourselves better prepared the next time it may be our turn to serve outside the country.

That said I wish him the best. I pray he scales through and embraces a more open policy.

Although we have our own unique challenges, this could have been handled better. Hmmm.

Sports / Re: Chelsea Transfer Ban Reduced After Appeal, Free To Sign Players In January by PaaRichie5(m): 4:29pm On Dec 06, 2019
anochuko01:

Rather buy players to consolidate on the gains they've made over united, arsenal and spurs. They're still behind Leicester and could over take city.
Strengthing the team could actually make them get a title this season

Truth is Chelsea has performed beyond all expectations prior to the start of the season. Consolidate the gains made and strengthen when the season ends.
Not to sound pessimistic but winning the title this season is too much of a stretch. Top four, a domestic trophy and a good run in the Champions league will be a very successful season. Chelsea is transitioning very well compared to United and Arsenal.
My point is guard against rocking what looks like a steady boat.

The ban was actually a blessing in disguise. No need to rush and sign players. This might disrupt the harmony of the team. The young guys are doing well. Get them through the season and see what areas need reinforcement. Good luck.

Looking at the white man's continent and the African continent.

How am I supposed to believe that all men were created equal?
Or rather evolved at the same time.

Will this Musk of a guy be dreaming/achieving all of this if he has to contend with the happenings in the African continent.

One of these days, I might just auction off this continent on eBay

Musk was actually born in Africa, South Africa that is. Good point though.
