Politics / Fajuyi As A Bridge Between The Yoruba And The Igbo    First Published In My Colu by Pastorfavourdes: 9:52pm On Jul 11, 2021
Fajuyi As a Bridge Between The Yoruba and the Igbo

First published in my column, #TheAlternative, in today’s ThisDay.

In my column last week, I published a piece, titled ‘Destroying Age Old Myths About The Yoruba’, in which I described the heroic sacrifice made by Colonel Adekunle Fajuyi as apocryphal.

Apocryphal simply means a historical event that cannot be proven.

I was referring to the refusal by Colonel Fajuyi to abandon the then Head of State, Major General Johnson Aguiyi-Ironsi, choosing instead to be loyal to him until death, even though he was given the option to remain behind at the Military Governor’s residence, which would have spared his life.

I have since discovered that I was wrong, and I apologise to the family of the late great Colonel Fajuyi. The account of his death is not apocryphal. There were witnesses and I have since verified the authenticity of the account of his death from an eyewitness and another remote witness.

The events were confirmed by a former minister, who also happened to be a soldier in the Nigerian Army when that incident happened. He was there and saw it and confirmed it.

Also, a former President, who was himself involved in pulling Nigeria away from the brink confirmed it.

Colonel Fajuyi pleaded for the life of his guest, Major General Ironsi, and when his pleadings fell on deaf ears, he insisted that if Ironsi would be killed then it would be over his dead body.

The rest is too gruesome to recount here, and out of respect for his family, I will stop here.

Colonel Fajuyi was a hero like no other. The only person who has shown a similar loyalty in Nigeria’s history is former President Olusegun Obasanjo, who was the best friend of Chukwuma Kaduna Nzeogwu, and who stood by his friend, in life and death.

After Nzeogwu’s death (the circumstances of his death are still hazy and shrouded in controversy) at the age of 30 on July 29, 1967, his friend, Olusegun Obasanjo, cared for his family, and assisted his siblings with their education, and became like a son to his mother.

(Let me here note that Nzeogwu’s death was spiritual, and dare I say mystical, because it occurred on the first anniversary of the July 29, 1966 Northern counter coup. Why is this significant? It is significant because on that day, Johnson Aguiyi-Ironsi was killed as a direct result of Nzeogwu and Ifeajuna’s actions of January 15, 1966. Ifeajuna himself would later be executed in Biafra on September 25, 1967. If you attended primary school in Nigeria between 1960 and 1990, you may perhaps have used an exercise book known as the OLYMPIC 2B Exercise Book. The man who was drawn on the front cover of that exercise book is Emmanuel Ifeajuna. The drawing is of his Gold winning High Jump at the 1954 British Empire and Commonwealth Games, in Vancouver, Canada).

At great risk to his political future, Chief Obasanjo wrote a biography of his late friend simply titled, Nzeogwu, which was published in 1987.

That book caused an uproar in the North because of the way and manner Obasanjo eulogised the man who killed the late Sardauna of Sokoto, Ahmadu Bello, believed to be Northern Nigeria’s greatest and favourite son.

Obasanjo did not have to do it. None of Nzeogwu’s military colleagues from Eastern Nigeria did it. But he did. And in the preamble to the book, he admitted that he knew he was attracting enmity to himself, but that he would take it as the price he had to pay for honouring his late friend’s memory.

As a matter of fact, thousands of copies of the book were bought by Northern groups and taken to the University of Zaria (now known as the Ahmadu Bello University), where they were burned in a ceremony eerily reminiscent of the Nazi Book Burnings organised by Josef Goebbels.

As they were burning the books, the mixed group of students, faculty members and clerics were insulting Obasanjo, calling him in English and Hausa “arne”, ''traitor'', ''conspirator'' and ''ungrateful person''.

The anger and indignation caused by the book was so widespread. There were riots, and the Niger State Government (the then military President, General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida, a great admirer of Ahmadu Bello was from Niger state), revoked the Certificate of Occupancy to a 5,000-hectare piece of land that had previously been allocated to Obasanjo Farms Nigeria Limited.

The furore caused by the event made the book an Instant bestseller, and I read it as a thirteen year old boy. It attracted the foreign press, and the New York Times did a special feature on the troubles caused by the book in a piece entitled ‘Of Fig Leaves, Art and Other Disputes; Nigeria: Strife Stirred By Best Seller’.

That New York Times piece is still available online. I urge my readers to read it.

It was speculated that Obasanjo’s political career was over, because of his book on Nzeogwu. Some even went as far as saying that he lost the race to be the Secretary General of the United Nations to Boutros Boutros-Ghali of Egypt in 1992, because the Babangida administration was not really keen on his candidature for what they felt was his stab on the back of the North with the book, Nzeogwu.

Babangida may not personally have retained his bitterness five years after the book. However, there were elements in the North that nursed their bitterness up until then, and even beyond. Some still nurse that grudge to today.

So, it riles me when some persons accuse the Yorubas of being betrayers. Which person, living or dead, has shown as much love, loyalty and commitment to Nzeogwu, at such great personal cost to himself, as Obasanjo?

It is one thing to show loyalty to the living. At least, you can expect your loyalty to be rewarded. However, to show loyalty to the dead is almost unheard of. It is most chivalrous and altruistic, precisely because it cannot be rewarded. It is a virtue worth commending and emulating.

Obasanjo again displayed this trait, when he showed his loyalty to his late friend, Shehu Musa Yar’adua, by almost singlehandedly making his younger brother, Umaru Musa Yar’adua, his successor.

Umaru Musa Yar’adua, had already concluded plans to retire to a tertiary institution as a chemistry teacher, when Obasanjo plucked him out almost from obscurity. He did not have the clout, finances, or alpha personality required to dominate the political landscape of 2007. As a matter of fact, Obasanjo campaigned for him in more states than he himself campaigned.

Many people do not know this, but Obasanjo appointed Nzeogwu’s brother as one of his Special Assistants when he returned as Nigeria’s elected President in 1999. He also appointed the son of another January 15, 1966 coup plotter as his Special Assistant (I am honour bound not to mention the name of his father).

Not done, Obasanjo then appointed Thomas Aguiyi-Ironsi, the son of the late Major General Johnson Aguiyi-Ironsi, as Minister of Defence in 2006. That was one of the most difficult ministerial appointments in Nigeria’s history, because certain persons felt it was an insult to their injury. And that, perhaps, was why Obasanjo only appointed him as minister in his second term. If he did it in his first term, he might not have won a second term.

Before then, Obasanjo made him an Ambassador. Can you imagine the flak Obasanjo got from the North? Obasanjo did not have to do it.

As a matter of fact, Thomas Aguiyi-Ironsi was actually another eyewitness to the events of July 29, 1966. He was with his father at Colonel Fajuyi’s residence. He was hidden for his safety, but he knows what happened. And he is still alive today.

After Fajuyi was killed, his successor as Military Governor of the Western Region, Adeyinka Adebayo, became almost like a surrogate father to the late Aguiyi-Ironsi’s daughter, Louisa Aguiyi-Ironsi, who grew up partly with his own children.

Young people of Southeastern origin should not think that the Yoruba are their enemies, or that they are perpetual cowards, ‘sabo’, and betrayers. It is not true.

The only way we can ensure a level playing ground for all Nigerians is by having a common Southern front. When we have Southern solidarity, then we will have Southern equality with the North.

However, if you believe that the Yoruba cannot be trusted, Bendel people are cunning, Rivers people are backstabbers, and Akwa-Ibom and Cross River are ‘ete’ boy boy, then we will only have Southern disunity.

This is 2021. The son of a Black African Kenyan man is the most popular US President that ever lived according to a survey of mostly White people. His wife, the great granddaughter of slaves, is today the most admired woman in America, and possibly the world. A Nigerian is in the Biden cabinet, and seven Nigerians were recently elected or re-elected into the British Parliament.

Primordial thinking is dying out internationally. We cannot be the holdout in Nigeria. We should not be.

It is time to purge ourselves off primordial sentiments. Nigeria is in too bad a state for us not to realise our predicament and face our common challenges.

And even if we cannot be friends, let us at least be comrades. We have a common challenge with the nepotism of the Buhari administration. What we need in 2023 is a government headed by a Nigerian from any part of Nigeria (but preferably an Igbo person, not for primordial reasons, but to right historical injustices) who can treat all Nigerians equally.

And we are not going to get that if we call each other ‘ajeokutamamomi’ or ‘ewu Yoruba’. The cabal that believe in nepotism are watching us and laughing. Their divide and rule tactics are working.

And lastly on this issue, when I posted last week’s column on Facebook, a young man from the Southeast justified the stereotype of the Yoruba as betrayers, by alleging that they had usurped the houses of Igbos as abandoned property after the civil war.

The truth about that sensitive subject is that cases of ‘abandoned property’ was an issue that erupted amongst the ethnic nationalities that were themselves consanguineously linked to the Igbos in and around Port Harcourt and in around the Benue area (less prominent in the Benue area, and more prominent in the Rivers area).

In Lagos, as well as the entire Western region, property belonging to the Igbos were not seized by the Yoruba. Not at all.
As a matter of fact, not only were the Igbo able to reclaim their houses in the Western Region after the war, they were also able to claim back rent for the period between 1967-1970.

An example of this is the case between the late Alex Ekwueme and Otunba Subomi Balogun. Although they were not really friends, per se, they lived close to each other. Just before the outbreak of the civil war, Alex Ekwueme left Lagos for the Eastern Region, like most prudent Igbos.

After the war, he returned to Lagos and, surprisingly, met his house in a renovated condition. While he was wondering what happened, his neighbour, Mr. Subomi Balogun, approached him and gave him his back rent in cash. These were the words that Mr. Balogun spoke to Mr. Ekwueme on that day in 1970:

“I renovated your house, rented it out and this is the rent we collected.”

Otunba Balogun is still alive, as are the children of Alex Ekwueme. This account can be confirmed from eyewitnesses.

What we need at this point in time is mutual respect and keeping our eyes on the prize.

Which is why I am a bit peeved that some Southern state Governors did not attend the Southern Governors meeting which held in Lagos on Monday, July 5, 2021. All the Governors of the Southwest attended. Apart from the Governor of Enugu, no Southeastern Governor attended. They were represented. One of them did not even bother to send a representative.

The Governor of Cross River (who always looks like someone about to cry), did not even bother with the meeting.

This is not the time to be represented. This is the time to be present! Only Southern unity can bring about the emancipation of our people from the killer herdsmen and bandits now plaguing our land. If we do not hang together, we will all hang separately.

Southern Governors should read and memorise Genesis 11:6:

“The people are united, and they all speak the same language. After this, nothing they set out to do will be impossible for them.”

If possible, let that be their motto.

How To Create an Atmosphere For Religious Co-Existence in Nigeria

Nigerian Christians and Muslims are very much the problem of Nigeria. In fact some atheists are better than them. You can reject a religion without hating those who practice it. Once we understand that, Nigeria will progress. God’s religion is love. You can’t love God and hate man!

Many Nigerian Christians and Muslims do not even realise that their choice of religion is not even their choice. It is an illusion of choice. Their parents were Christians or Muslims, and that is all they have ever known. And on the basis of this faux choice, they hate practitioners of other religion.

Learn from the parable of the Good Samaritan. When the Jewish traveler was attacked by robbers, first a Jewish priest, then a Levite passed, and refused to help the Jew, until a Samaritan passed by.

The reason most people do not appreciate this account, is because they do not know how the Jews regard Samaritans. If a Samaritan as much as touches a Jew, that Jew will become ceremonially unclean. Samaritans were despised by Jews.

Look at Nigeria. Imam Abubakar Abdullahi rescued almost 300 Christians from Muslim Fulanis who were on a revenge mission. Imam Abubakar Abdullahi proved that his religion is love, the same religion practiced by God.

What about Femi Otedola. He is a Christian from Lagos. Lagos is the richest place in West Africa. He is a billionaire. He donated $14 million to Internally Displaced Persons in Borno. There are Muslim billionaires in Borno who have not donated even 1% of that money to help their own people.

Otedola proved that his religion is love.

What about Anja Ringgren Lovén? She is an atheist. Yet, when a Nigerian Christian family threw out their own three year old boy, because a fiery pastor told them he was a witch child, she adopted him and loved him as her own child.

Anja Ringgren Lovén proved that her religion is love.

Christianity and Islam will die here on Earth. It is only love that exists in God’s Kingdom. How do I know this? Because God is love. That much is attested to by every religion on Earth. But most importantly, it is attested by one verse in Scripture-John 3:16.

That verse says “God so loved the world”.

Think about that. It did not say God so loved the Jews. Or God so loved the Hebrews. Or God so loved the Arabs. Or God so loved the Cushite. Or God so loved the Christian. No. God loves you. And if God loves you, but you hate me, then you also hate who God loves, because God loves me.

In fact, the word Christian was never uttered by Christ. Christ came to reconcile man to God. You can be a practicing Christian, but if you are not reconciled to God, you do not have Christ. And if you hate Muslims, then you are not reconciled to God, because Scripture says we are to “have a conscience without offense toward God and men”-Acts 24:16.

Hating a person who hates you first is not an excuse before God. God expects you to love always. The only thing we are permitted to hate is evil.

I think the National Youth Service Corp is a splendid idea. However, it is not enough for a country like Nigeria. If I had my way, every Christian NYSC Corp Member must compulsorily take and pass a course in Islamic Religious Knowledge, and every Muslim NYSC Corp Member must compulsorily take and pass a course in Christian Religious Knowledge before they can get the discharge certificates.

That course should include the history of how Christians and Muslims coexisted peacefully in the Christian empire of Aksum, in modern day Ethiopia, 1400 years ago. If we could coexist 1400 years ago, what has happened in the intervening years to make coexistence difficult?

I believe the answer lies with religious fundamentalism, rather than religious understanding.

Nigerians need to understand religious empathy, which is different from religious sympathy. That I empathise with your religion means that though I do not accept it, I nevertheless have sufficiently educated myself about it, so I can understand you and better relate with you.

May God help Nigerians and may God prevent religious war from ever erupting in Nigeria. Because, it may be worse than the Rwandan genocide. God forbid!

Politics / On The Kwara Hijab Crisis - Reno Omokri Writes by Pastorfavourdes: 11:34pm On Mar 20, 2021
On The Kwara Hijab Crisis

I read Farook Kperogi’s brilliant (as usual) piece, ‘Hijab As Red Meat Of Bigotry’, and while he made some very compelling arguments, there were one or two things I disagreed with.

Professor Kperogi says, it is not unreasonable for Muslims to wear hijabs at Christians schools, since they are now state funded.

That is arguable. Very much so. But even if Christians concede that point, then that liberality cannot begin and end with Muslims wearing hijabs. If we must be liberal, then our liberality must be total.

Not all Nigerians are Christians or Muslims. African Traditional Religion adherents, Eckankar, Grail Message, Celestial and Cherubim and Seraphim should also be allowed to wear their religious attires, if they so choose.

But doing so will just cause further confusion and turn Kwara to the biblical Tower of Babel.

The truth is that the school uniforms or dress code the missionaries put in place was ideal, for the simple reason that it was religiously neutral.

Even in Saudi Arabia, the hijab is no longer required wearing. Does Nigeria and Kwara want to be more Muslim than the custodians of Islam?

Below is an excerpt from an interview Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman of Saudi Arabia granted to CBS on March 18, 2018. My readers can Google that interview. I enjoy being fact checked. I deal in facts.

“The decision is entirely left for women to decide what type of decent and respectful attire she chooses to wear.”

There are certain things that make you a Muslim. You must believe in the one God, Allah (SWT) and his prophet, Mohammed (SAW), and the holy book, and the prophets contained therein. I do not know that you have to be a Hijab wearer to be a true Muslim.

Nigeria is a secular state. All schools ought to wear a religiously neutral school uniform. However, IF you must introduce religion, you can’t do it for just one religion alone, otherwise you make that religion superior. Every religion, Christian, Muslim, Traditional African, Eckankar, The Grail Message, etc should be accommodated.

I believe in religious coexistence. However, what is happening in Kwara is not religious coexistence. It is religious dominance.

Professor Kperogi talked about court judgments. There are a multiplicity of court judgments on the issue of Nigeria being a secular state. And true secularity means the neutrality of religion in state policy. And insisting on hijab for schools is not neutrality. We are either a secular nation, or we are a multi-religious nation.

And if we choose to go the route of multi-religiosity, let us remember that most multi-religious nations end up splitting. Often with much bloodshed.

I have argued (and been insulted by Christians) when I said Arabic on the Naira note and Nigerian Army emblem is not a religious matter, but a cultural matter, because many Muslim Northerners cannot read or write in English and can only read or write in Ajami or Arabic. It is therefore wrong to impose a foreign language that they cannot understand on them. I support Arabic on our currency and army emblem.

However, the same cannot be said for the hijab. By forcing these schools to allow them, Kwara and any other copy cat state is doing a great harm to the secularity that holds Nigeria together. This is a Pandora’s Box that portends great evil and should best be left unopened.

These schools were forcefully taken over by the military government. The missionaries did not hand them over willingly. They were funding these schools. They did not beg the government for funds.

Insisting that Muslim students who CHOOSE to attend these Christians schools must be allowed to wear their hijabs is like insisting that a visitor to your house must be allowed to do as he or she pleases. Never. If you visit me, I cannot adapt to you. You must adapt to me because you are a visitor. If you insist that I adapt to you, then you are no longer a visitor. You are a conqueror.

Politics / TI Corruption Index: Reno Omokri Blasts Buhari, Lists 20 Reasons by Pastorfavourdes: 2:19pm On Feb 02, 2021
20 Reasons Why Buhari, Not Nigerians, Is Responsible for Nigeria’s Abysmal Corruption Rating

On Monday, February 1, 2021, Nigerians woke up to a rather shocking accusation. According to Transparency International new Corruption Perception Index, released on Friday, January 29, 2021, Nigeria is more corrupt today than under the previous administration, having moved 13 places backwards in the CPI, from 136 in 2014 to 149 in 2021 (our worst performance ever.)

However, rather than own up to their failures, the ever blaming Buhari administration accused Nigerians, saying the long-suffering citizens of Nigeria, and not the government, were responsible for this abysmal corruption perception rating.

On Channel Television’s Sunrise Daily, the Any Government in Power Garba Shehu (he was also a spokesman to the Obasanjo PDP Government) said:

“I’ll tell you that this one by TI is not a judgment on Buhari or his administration or its war against corruption, I will tell you that this one is a judgment on Nigerians because if you look at the indices they used at arriving at these conclusions, they used eight indices, six of which showed Nigeria as being more or less Nigeria in the same position.”

Garba Shehu is a man without credibility. He is described by Aisha Buhari, the President’s wife, as a dishonest human being, and he has serially proven that that assessment is accurate by his many untrue statements, including, but not limited to, the lie that bandits abducted only 10 Kankara boys on December 11, 2020 (we now know that over 300 boys were abducted), or the lie that Buhari has secured Nigeria (according to the Global Terrorism Index, Nigeria is now more terrorised than at any time under former President Jonathan), or his lie that “Nigeria just achieved the record of the second-largest producer of rice in the world” (Nigeria is not even among the top 10 rice producers).

Garba Shehu is a paid sycophant, who lies without fear of God. And to prove to Nigerians that the Buhari administration is irresponsible and that this President is incapable of leading Nigeria to anything other than total destruction, I will now list 20 reasons why Transparency International declared Nigeria, under Buhari, as one of the most corrupt nations on Earth. Please find the reasons below.

* According to a former Buhari insider, Buhari’s nephew, Sabiu ‘Tunde’ Yusuf, who used to sell recharge cards in Daura, is now a trillionaire in Naira, without any known source of income.
* The Buhari administration, not Nigerians, budgeted $500 million to digitalise the Nigerian Television Authority, a network that is not even worth $50 million.

* It is the Buhari government, not the citizens of Nigeria, that budgeted ₦37 billion to renovate a National Assembly complex built for ₦6 billion only.

* Nigerians are not responsible for concealing the true owners of the Ikoyi Apartment billions, reported to be a potbellied former Governor of Rivers state.

* Why are the heads of the Executive, Legislature, Judiciary, Ministry of Defence, Army, Police, NSA, DSS, NIA, DMI, DIA, NPS, NCS, NIS, and EFCC all Northern Muslim men? This is against the Federal Character Act. Of course, Transparency International is aware that nepotism is also corruption.

* It is not Nigerians who went to Kano to lift the hand of Umar Ganduje, a man caught on camera collecting bribes in dollars and stuffing it into his babanriga.

* What happened to Aisha Buhari’s ADC and the billions he allegedly stole? He has not been tried since 2018. The case has been buried. Is it because he knows too much about Buhari and his family? Are Nigerians to blame for that?

* It is not Nigerians who refused to try Bola Tinubu, despite clear evidence of bullion vans carrying money into his home on Election Day 2019, in contravention of the Money Laundering Act, 2011, and instead made him a major powerbroker in the Presidency.

* It is not Nigerians who granted regular access to the Presidency to Babachir Lawal, a man whose hands were caught red-handed in the cookie jar, accused of stealing hundreds of millions via the grass cutter scandal.

* It is not Nigerians that protected Nasir Danu, Buhari’s right-hand man, who was arrested at London’s Heathrow Airport with huge undeclared sums of money and a fake passport, and was eventually deported to Nigeria, and then seen at Aso Rock smiling with General Buhari in a photo.

* It is not Nigerians who allowed General Buhari’s children to use the Nigerian Presidential Jet to attend private functions or allowed APC Governors to use the jet to attend APC campaign events.

* It is the Buhari administration, not Nigerians who claimed to have spent millions of dollars feeding school children during the #COVID19 lockdown.

* Who is to blame for the refusal to charge anyone for NNPC’s $25 billion contracts awarded without due process, after the scam was exposed in a leaked memo from Buhari’s own minister?

* Was General Buhari’s daughter made a manager at an NNPC subsidiary? Why? Are Nigerians to blame for that?

* How come Nigeria’s foreign debt increased from $7 billion in 2015 to $32 billion in 2020, with little to show for it? Buhari has borrowed more than Abacha, Abdulsalami, Obasanjo, Yar’adua and Jonathan, combined. Where has the money gone? Much of it into private pockets.

* Charly Boy, a prominent musician and singer, admitted that Festus Keyamo bribed him with a 9 figure sum. Where did Keyamo get such monies? The case was swept under the carpet, and Keyamo was rewarded by being made a minister.

* A former managing director of Niger Delta Development Commission, Joy Nunieh, revealed that a minister in Buhari’s government, Godswill Akpabio, was involved in multi billion Naira fraud and corruption and tendered documentary evidence. To this day, nothing has been done to Mr. Akpabio. He continues to serve in Buhari’s cabinet.

* Aisha Buhari blew the lid off the fact that despite almost ₦10 billion budgeted for the State House Clinic under Buhari, the facility could not even boast of paracetamol or a working x-ray machine. Are Nigerians to blame for this blatant corruption?

* Despite the alleged NHIS ₦10 billion scandal which the government’s own auditors exposed, those indicted have not been charged or prosecuted.

* How could the former Chief of Army Staff, General Buratai have been able to afford properties in Dubai on his official and legitimate salary?

Now, I ask Nigerians, if you were Transparency International, would you rate Nigeria as a nation that is serious in fighting corruption, when the government of Nigeria is yet to explain why they have allowed the 20 infractions listed above to go unpunished, and even sometimes to reward those behind these acts of corruption?

Nairaland / General / The Mark Of The Beast In The Age Of E-commerce And Social Media by Pastorfavourdes: 2:34pm On Jan 10, 2021
The Mark of the Beast in the Age of e-commerce and Social Media

By Reno Omokri

If you do not know the power of the Internet and those who control it, I suggest you research a UK high street shop called Primark.

During the first #COVID19 lockdown, Primark went from being one of the most profitable UK retailers, with a sales plunge from £650 million a month to zero (yes, zero) sales between March and April 2020.

In case you do not understand what that means, it is that Primark made a £650 million sales turnover in February of 2020, however, after the first UK lockdown was announced on March 23, 2020, Primark made £0 in sales the next month because they did not have an online presence.

The biggest commercial effect of the coronavirus pandemic is that it has caused retailing to move from the high street to the high Internet, and stores, like Primark, who have no online presence may die out, while firms with a massive digital presence, like amazon, will thrive.

Even if we all took the vaccine and became immune to the virus, the deed has been done. Habit is almost impossible to break. And anything you do consistently for at least 3 months WILL become a habit. And most of us are now in the habit of ordering everything, from groceries, to clothes, to furniture, online.

Many people think it is governments or at least an international corporate organisation or consortium that controls e-commerce, but they are wrong.

Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Diners Club are privately-owned organisations, as are Apple, Google, and other online market places. Even Experian, TransUnion and Equifax, which are the three credit agencies that determine your credit worthiness, are private firms. Fitch, KPMG and Standard and Poors, which determine the credit rating of governments, are private firms.

Except for China, North Korea, and possibly Russia, the rest of the world is at the mercy of these private individuals and their organisations.

And it is not just commerce. The media is also privately owned, including and especially social media. And don’t you ever believe that these firms are neutral: No, no, no! They have their agenda.

In Nigeria, we saw how some persons tried to hijack the #EndSARS protests and channel it from a spontaneous movement against bad governance to something more sinister (thank God they failed), that would have prompted an agenda that is contrary to our traditional and religious marital values.

We can laugh when they target politicians and celebrities we do not like. However, a virus that can kill your enemy can also kill you.

That is why Evelyn Beatrice Hall said: “I disapprove of what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it.”

If these individuals decide to shut you out, there is little or nothing you can do. There is virtually no right of redress. You cannot appeal their verdict (in some cases you can, but as we say in Nigeria, e get as e be). And their standards are not objective or transparent. It is subjective and shifts according to situations and individuals.

I expressed my views on same-sex marriage, which I got from Scripture. And I was banned from the main social media platforms for a week. I did not insult or attack. I merely stated that the lifestyle is not consistent with what Scripture refers to as Godliness.

Speaking of Scripture, many people think the Mark of the Beast, of Revelations 13.18, is literal. It could be. It could also be metaphorical.

We are told in Scripture that a time will come when people will not be able to buy or sell unless they have this mark (Revelations ‪13:16-17‬).

Now, take a look at what is happening both on e-commerce and social media platforms. The type of dictatorial and inconsistent policing on these platforms, which are geared towards forcing compliance to standards that are not Scriptural.

If you espouse a conservative Christian world view, you are gradually becoming an endangered specie. The Ayotallah of Iran can post some of the most outlandish and provocative things, and he is allowed to be. Atheists can insult God and they are protected. Others can post things against the state of Israel, and they are left alone.

But if you stand on Scripture and say that marriage is between a man and you know who (if I say it, I may be banned again. I don’t mind being banned, but I want you to read this), you are at risk of being banned.

If you own a confectionary chain and refuse to bake a cake for a marriage that runs contrary to your Christian beliefs, you could be banned from e-commerce platforms. It has happened, it is happening and it will get worse.

If you have a radio or TV show that expresses particular views about trans people, you could (would) be banned, for life.

I ask believers to think again about the warnings that our Lord and Saviour, Yeshua Hamashiach, gave about the last days:

“You will be hated by everyone because of me, but the one who stands firm to the end will be saved.”-Matthew ‪10:22‬.

These private individuals and corporations who control e-commerce and social media platforms coordinate with each other. They are sly. Forces inspire them. And they have a plan. An agenda. A new world order is coming.

You and I know what marriage should be. You and I know what a man and a woman should be. You and I know that a child is alive from conception.

But our children do not yet strongly know these things. It is not yet internalised within them. They are still impressionable. And if we are prevented from saying the truth from Scripture on social and traditional media platforms, and if retailers are afraid of implementing Scriptural sourced policies, that could get them kicked from e-commerce platforms, what will happen is that when we die, our children and their children will accept these ways of life and they will be the mainstream, and anybody that does not accept it will not be able to buy or sell, vote or be voted for, or express his or herself publicly.

It is called Pavlovian conditioning in psychology. Research it.

I give you an example. 50 years ago, almost all foods were organic and it was a taboo to eat genetically modified foods. Today, I eat exclusively organic, and some of my friends laugh at me and ask me to stop wasting my money and eat regular food, like them.

Do you see how we have been conditioned? GM food is now ‘regular food’, while the natural one, that God created, is now irregular. This happened in just one generation!

People who insist that marriage should be strictly defined by Scriptural standards would be viewed as hateful, intolerant, fanatics, and extremists.

Soon, they will be rejected for admissions at universities because of their ‘intolerant’ beliefs. Publishers are being pressured not to publish books on Scriptural based morality. Think tanks lose their funding if they invite conservatives to speak.

It may even get to the point where firms that do not give their female employees money to freeze their eggs would be branded intolerant, and shamed and turned into pariahs. And to avoid that fate, they would comply. And gradually, the scriptural concept of marriage would be looked at as passé, because women will no longer need a man to have a baby. A man in a white suit can put your baby together in a lab.

We may even have a world where people of a particular lifestyle are given affirmative action in politics and business.

In essence, we are seeing that the Mark of the Beast may actually be acceptance to an unscriptural world view.

This is an alert. Things are not going to get better. They are going to get worse. Much worse. We know that because Scripture says:

“Mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days.”-2 Timothy 3:1.

When my wife was pregnant with twins, there was a complication and a premature birth was an option. I remember the doctor telling us that even though they had incubators, the safest place for a fetus is in its mother’s womb.

Not anymore. Not anymore. Sadly, today, one of the most dangerous places for a fetus is in its mother’s womb. Amongst African Americans, more babies are being aborted than are being born. In New York for example, official records show that between 2012 and 2016 African American women aborted 136,426 pregnancies. In that same period, African American mothers had 118,127 live births. A deficit of 18,299!

And this is seen as “progressive.” If I provide more detail, I may be banned. So let me stop here.

I conclude by saying that 75 years ago, young men and women showed courage via fighting the fascist axis powers during World War 2.

Seventy years later, a woman known as Caitlyn Jenner (born as a man called Bruce Jenner) received the prestigious Arthur Ashe Courage Award.

I am sure the late Arthur Ashe would be very proud of what his name is now used for.

Religion / Why Village People Kill A Lot Of Africans By Reno Omokri by Pastorfavourdes: 7:43pm On Nov 10, 2020
Why Village People Kill a Lot of Africans

One question that troubles a lot of people when they read Scripture is how the ancients could have lived so long. satan is at work using questions like this to undermine the faith of multitudes, by appealing to their natural senses, which posit that it is biologically impossible for men to have lived as long as the ancients once did and that since this is scientifically proven, then it means Scripture is inaccurate.

But the devil is a liar. Scripture is inerrant and is the word of God, and when we search the Scriptures, we will find life and truth.

So, why did man once live very long, and why do we no longer live as long as we once did?

Have you ever wondered why the animals in the Garden of Eden never posed a physical threat to Adam and Eve, or why the wild animals Noah kept in the Ark never attacked him and his family?

If that question had ever crossed your mind, my prayer is that today, you will find answers in Scripture.

You see, we live in a falling world. We do not live in a fallen world. What do I mean? When man fell in the Garden of Eden, our fall was not an event, or a one-day affair. The fall of man was a journey and it was progressive. Meaning that in the process of time, the world and man fell deeper and deeper. The fall of man is present continuous, until Christ returns.

In physics, this is known as
The second law of thermodynamics, which in summary is that entropy (the degree of disorder) increases with time.

You see, in the beginning, God did not create humans and animals to be natural enemies, who attacked and killed each other for food. In Eden, and even after the fall of man began, both man and animals were created to be vegetarians. Do not take my word for it. Let Scripture convince you:

Genesis 1:29 relates to humanity:

“Then God said, "I give you every SEED-BEARING PLANT on the face of the whole earth and EVERY TREE that has FRUIT with seed in it. They will be yours for FOOD.”

Genesis 1:30 relates to animals:

“And to all the beasts of the earth and all the birds in the sky and all the creatures that move along the ground--everything that has the breath of life in it--I give every green plant for food." And it was so.”

The difference God made between food for humans and that for animals, is that man was only to eat fruits and vegetables that had SEED in it. While animals were allowed to eat any fruit and vegetable, whether or not it had seeds.

And when this world comes to an end, and all things are restored in paradise, the unnatural enmity between man and animals will be taken away. And we see that in Isaiah’s prophecy of God’s Kingdom:

“The wolf will live with the lamb, the leopard will lie down with the goat, the calf and the lion and the yearling together; and a little child will lead them.”-Isaiah 11:6.

Yes, Genesis 4:2 teaches us that Cain kept livestock. But he did NOT eat them. They were kept for animal sacrifice, which was a regular affair after man was sent out of Eden.

From Genesis 1 to Genesis 9, you will not find even one verse were any man or animal ate meat.

So why did man and animal start eating meat?

Genesis 9:3 gives us the answer. That verse reads:

“Everything that lives and moves about will be food for you. Just as I gave you the green plants, I NOW give you everything.”

Notice the word ‘NOW’. God allowed man and animal to eat meat, because the Great Flood, that occurred during the time of Noah, had destroyed all vegetation on Earth. And it took a while for the Earth to be revegetated. Noah and his children were the first set of human beings to ever eat meat.

You will notice something. Noah and his ancestors all lived extraordinarily long. It was only after Noah and his children started eating meat that their lifespan reduced. Let me give my readers some examples.

Adam lived for 930 years. His son Seth, lived for 912 years. Seth’s son, Enosh lived for 905 years. Enosh’ son, Kenan, lived for 910 years. Kenan’s son, Mahalalel, lived for 895 years. Mahalalel’s son, Jared, lived for 962 years. Jared’s son, Enoch, lived for 365 years, but never died. He was taken to heaven, alive. Enoch’s son, Methuselah, lived for 969 years (the man with the longest lifespan ever). Methuselah’s son, Lamech, lived for 777 years. Lamech was the father of Noah. Noah lived to be 950 years.

You can find these information in Genesis chapter 5.

Now fast forward to Genesis 11. After man started eating meat, Shem, Noah’s son, lived for 500 years, which is half his father’s lifespan. His son, Arphaxad, lived for 403 years. Arphaxad’s son, Shelah, also lived for 403 years. Shelah’s son, Eber, lived for 430 years. Eber’s son, Peleg, lived for 209 years. Peleg’s son, Reu, lived for 207 years. Reu’s son, Serug, lived for 200 years. Serug’s son, Nahor, lived for 119 years. Nahor gave birth to Terah, who was the father of Abraham.

So you can see that it was AFTER man started eating meat that we started to live shorter and shorter lifespans.

Consult your doctor and he will tell you that if you want to live a long and healthy life, you must stop eating or reduce your intake of meat, especially red meat.

What makes meat red? Blood. And what did Scripture tell us about blood?

“Be sure you do not eat the blood, because the blood is the life, and you must not eat the life with the meat.”-Deuteronomy 12:23

In the New Testament, the disciples gave we Gentiles only four laws to keep. You can find them below:

“Abstain from things offered to idols, from BLOOD, from things strangled, and from sexual immorality. If you keep yourselves from these, you will do well.”-Acts 15:29.

In Japan, the nation with the highest life expectancy in the world, the eating of any type of meat was banned for centuries. Please research it. Do not trust my word

It was illegal to eat meat in Japan until 1872, when Emperor Meiji lifted the ban. However, even after the ban was lifted, the Japanese still rarely consume red meat. Asians in general consume more fish than meat, but the Japanese in particular, consume a lot more fish compared to other Asian countries. And they do not just consume fish, they tend to eat it raw. That is the secret of their longevity.

If you want to live a long, healthy and happy life, your chances are increased (but not guaranteed), if you can eat only fruit and vegetables, and fish for animal protein. And not just any fish and vegetable. Eat organic fruit and vegetables.

Think back to Daniel. Daniel 1:8 reads:

“Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not DEFILE himself with the portion of the king's MEAT”.

Daniel was a vegetarian. Daniel 1:12 reads:

“Please test your servants for ten days: Give us nothing but VEGETABLES to eat and water to drink.”

Daniel 1:15 reads:

“At the end of the ten days they looked healthier and better nourished than any of the young men who ate the royal food.”

I am proof of Daniel’s word. I don’t eat meat. I eat only organic fruit and vegetables. I eat fish and seafood. Yet, I am stronger and healthier than my own blood brother who eats meat, despite the fact that I am 10 years older than him. He travels the world with me. I run everyday for an hour. He lasts 30 minutes and gives up.

I never get sick, even though my brother gets sick periodically. Health insurance is wasted on me. Without trying to be vain, I look physically good even though I am 47 years old in two months time.

Follow the word of God. Eat and live as it says you should. “It shall be health to your navel, and marrow to your bones.”-Proverbs 3:8.

Both on Earth and in heaven, God did not just intend for food to be for physical nourishment. He intended and still intends for food to be first of all, medicine.

That is why Ezekiel 47:12 says:

“Fruit trees of all kinds will grow on both banks of the river. Their leaves will not wither, nor will their fruit fail. Every month they will bear fruit, because the water from the sanctuary flows to them. Their fruit will serve for food and their leaves for HEALING."

And for heaven, we read in Revelations 22:2 as followed:

“Down the middle of the great street of the city. On each side of the river stood the tree of life, bearing twelve crops of fruit, yielding its fruit every month. And the leaves of the tree are for the healing of the nations.”

You will notice that Christ ate twice after his resurrection. And at both times, He only ate fish.

We see the first instance in Luke 24:42-43:

“They gave Him a piece of a broiled fish [k]and some honeycomb. And He took it and ate in their presence.”

We see the second incident in John 21:13:

“Jesus then came and took the bread and gave it to them, and likewise the fish.”

If a doctor tells you you are going to die next month, you will make peace with God and man and start living right. But we will all die one day. Tomorrow is promised to no man. Why wait until your health fails?

I traveled to 32 nations last year, and a lot of them were in Africa. I used to think that it was only in Nigeria that we believed ‘village people’ could kill city people. My travels to Kenya, Tanzania, Zanzibar, Zambia, Zimbabwe, and Mozambique, disabused my mind and taught me that it is a Black African thing.

I saw Black African men eating so much red meat, accompanied with the most carbohydrate loaded diet. I saw these men enter cars and drivers drove them around. I saw them go to their homes, where domestic servants do all the physical work for them and their families.

They never exercise, the only thing that they tended to do in excess, whether Christians or Muslims, was pray.

And when they get a stroke or heart attack, their families never, ever blame their lifestyles. It is always village people.

Meanwhile, Scripture says;

“Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap. For he who sows to his flesh will of the flesh reap corruption, but he who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting life.”-Galatians 6:7-8.

Simple.
Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body. (KJV) 1 Corinthians 6:18

The bible didn't say try to avoid it but to flee.
I believe this will help.
