Sorry for my approach! I was just trying to challenge you to action, but now I can understand your fear.

In this scenario, you should take heed to jboixx advice and buy the phone locally. The reason is that logistics, from order dispatch to arrival at destination, is highly unpredictable. The phone could take longer than expected before it gets to you , and that would have defeated the purpose for which you ordered it.

From experience, I've had a couple of mobile phones/ tablets arrive between 2 - 4 weeks. At another times, I waited for over 2 months before their arrival. At yet another times, I had to settle for a refund because the orders didn't arrive.

It's totally fine. I understand. I'll have to purchase the phone locally then. Thanks.

u must have excess amount to the amount u need. I dnt even knw how to xplain. Der charge for failed transactions so u always have excess amount in ur balance to avoid failed transactions else u will pay a fine for it

Ohh. Okay. I understand you now. Yes, they charge your card for every failed transactions. That's why they usually recommend that you have a little over the amount you intend using. E.g recently I purchased some items on AliExpress, one cost $0.64 and the other $1.33. I loaded my card with about $2.2 instead of the $1.97. Made a purchase and everything went smoothly.

Been doing it that way and I've not had any failed transactions.

I've taken delivery of virtually all the mobile phones/tablets I ordered, despite that they were shipped by AliExpress Standard shipping (Singpost). For the ones that didn't arrive, I got refunded.

Chai. You know there's a more polite way to explain this, right? Besides, my fears are valid. It's not my money. I want to order the phone for my mom. And I've also read some information on this thread about phones lost via transit. It's not even the refund thing. The phone is needed on or before mid next month. So, if it gets lost in transit and I request for a refund, that'll spoil the whole plan.

After the seller and you have reached an agreement;

Ask the seller to configure a link where you can make payment for purchasing the goods, when the seller do so, click on the link and make payments with your ATM card. I always use my Access or UBA card for the payment, I don’t really know about other bank cards.

Take note: Sometimes, if your goods is more than $1000, you may not be able to pay at once with your ATM card. So, in this case request that the seller configures the payment link twice or thrice, then use the configured links to complete your payments. (This scenario rarely occurs though).

Yes. The refund process was as smooth as the cancellation process. After cancelling the order, a refund process started automatically. AliExpress told me it'll take 3-20days for a refund process to be completed.

Today is day 4 and I got refunded. My chipper cash USD card was topped up by AliExpress.

Waiting for the second item which will most likely arrive at speedaf office today or tomorrow from the information I'm seeing on the tracking site. Between, product 1 was ordered on the 18th January, shipped on the 18th January and was ready for pick up on the 6th of February. That's about 19days it took to get here.

I'm experiencing same thing here. Seller shipped my product on 31st January yet I have no tracking information up till date. Would've been a bit different if there was a tracking update atleast even if it hasn't gotten to Nigeria. Now, that tracking number, you can't even use it to track anything.

I've been buying from AliExpress and the highest time that has passed before my tracking information was updated was a little over a day. And all my items have gotten to me after a month and some days at most. Even with Nipost! So, this looks like there's something's wrong somewhere! Well, if you can wait, wait. Me, I'm just waiting for the time frame for requesting a dispute to come. I won't wait anymore.

Get a virtual dollar card from any of the service providers you know of. Right now, I can vouch for chipper cash because I've made use of them several times for international payments. But I'm looking for something with a cheaper exchange rate. People have suggested kudi wave (heard they charge $2 for their virtual dollar card) and klasha. Will look into any of them and drop a feedback if you want one. But for now, I'll suggest chipper cash. Works perfectly well except for the high exchange rate issue.

I see no issue. Typically, if you did your due research before ordering an item (ie. check reviews, number of items ordered/sold, the seller's profile, pictures from people who bought etc), you'll receive the item just fine. Unless you changed the shipping to DHL or any Express shipping services, don't expect to receive your item within a month (there are some rare cases). So if you choosed "free shipping" or "AliExpress standard shipping", give it 2 months max from the day you got the notification saying "item shipped!".

Because for me, besides the tracking update, that bar that moves to show how far an item has gone is showing that my product has passed customs, gotten to Rivers state, and Eleme specifically. Does anyone know of a better alternative to chipper cash? I've been using chipper cash for several months now, it's USD visa card specifically (both for FB ad payments, international membership blog payments, and on AliExpress) and I can say that it works perfectly well. However, their exchange rate is really on the high side. 760/$ the last time I used it.

Is there an alternative with a lower exchange rate that doesn't have hidden charges? From this thread's suggestion, would've settled for pyypl but it does seem like it'll be same with chipper cash considering the fact there's a total of 5% charge.

If there's a better alternative, please suggest. This exchange rate is annoying.

From experience, such order is automatically canceled out at the expiration of the number of days given to seller for order dispatch. But If you can't wait for that, you can contact Aliexpress support and lodge your complaints. Am very sure they'll do something about it.

Oh. Actually, the product was shipped the very day I placed an order and I've been tracking it both on AliExpress site and speedaf. I doubt it has been automatically cancelled.

It's still working. Used it on the 18th of last month and it worked perfectly well. I think sometimes there's a glitch with this chipper cash's card. The first time I tried it, it was declined on AliExpress. That was in December last year.

Looks like it's being shipped via speedaf. But I can't tell if you'll be going there to pick it up yourself or if it'll be delivered at your doorstep. But if there's an 'E' or an 'ES' at the end of your tracking number, then you'll have to pick it up at speedaf office. If it's an 'R', that's a doorstep delivery
