This whole waterway traveling is sooo messy and dangerous considering all that can happen that it shouldn't be tried again. This is what happens when you don't have a tough captain. If it was when Stephen Keshi was the captain of super eagles or even Sunday Oliseh, this won't happen. Not a single jet to fly these guys to Cotonou in less than an hour? What if there was a pirate attack or mishap? Imagine the public relations nightmare that would have been for this seemingly shameless country? And how is it that an institution as big as the FA of a country like Nigeria is always complaining of funds, inspite of all the business opportunities available for the marketing department? This is what happens when you have rectangular pegs in horizontal holes..

They had Navy escort, with Gunboats

Yes, it is something to be proud of.
The Lagos state government have used that opportunity tj advertise their water transportation and also showcase it safety.

Some people have no joy in their in life. They have limited their own existence to spreading the sadness. They are better ignored.

Most of them were genuinely terrified... Not just balogun. Mainly the ones that were born and raised abroad who are now constituting the majority of the squad under Rohr. It's understandable! The whole preparation is so mediocre, most members of that squad can individually do better.. If I'm a member of that team, I won't join that boat. Pinnick has to explain what happened to the money for transportation

When you won't read the article properly, it was stated there that, the Marine Police will escort them to and fro to Benin Repiblic.

The boat itself could have been a lot more comfortable and not that hot tugboat! The dirty environment at the port is alarmingly unhigienic... Standards were lacking at every point and I know smaller nations in Africa that could have prepared their national team travels a whole lot better..

You guys are the reason why mediocrity thrives in Nigeria! Nobody asks about the reason why the fa that's supposed to be a money making machine is always shirt of funds year in year out...How safe was that journey? Was the marine police going to stop the ocean from swallowing them if that rickety boat packs up midway?

Did you just call a ferry with WiFi and air-conditioning system a "tugboat"

Hahahaaa. You know next to nothing about maritime industry

Ever wonder why the rich buy yatch?! Because the cruise is amazing

Sanwo-Olu's move to transport them with a boat should be commended

Is like some of una no dey read, its just 1 hr 40 minutes from Lagos to Porto Novo via ferry. Besides Port Novo is a coastal city and its faster using the ferry than road transport. It may even be faster than using Air transport considering they will still have to drive from Cotonou to Porto Novo.

That one na yatch too, abi?
If you keep having this sort of shabby preparations, the serious names in world football with Nigerian roots will start second guessing before signing up to play for Nigeria as was the case during the days of Fasanu... Especially when they have better alternative offers from western countries where they were born. Players like Aribo, Balogun, even Iwobi.. That's quality depletion of the team.
You will choose to argue against this but when it starts, we will all be here to question the players "patriotism"..

It's all fun, bros. What if they chartered a plane and it crashed into the sea (remember Zambia plane tragedy that wiped out the entire national team). Our players did not complain - I wonder why it's bothering you.

Some Nigerians have sworn never to be happy in their lives. How the hell would you ignorantly condemn this beautiful mode of transportation?

I remember barca against intermilan some years back, Barca travelled by train.

Water transportation is one of the safest and fastest modes of transportation.

This is a beautiful experience the players will never forget in a Hurry.

NFF couldn't have used the roads because of how bad the roads are

Flying by plane or jet was a no no..considering that there are no flights from Lagos to Benin, again Lagos to Benin is just 25mins.. U will get there before finishing two fela songs. Now ask yourself does it make any economic sense ? From the airport in Benin to their hotel by road is over 1hr. But from the jetty in port novo to their hotel by road is just 25mins... That was why they opted for the sea.

The speedboats are off high quality with lots of comfortability. Amaju pinick, NFF and Sanwo olu should be commended but some "Never happy" dimwits are condemning this.

God bless the Super Eagles, God bless Nigeria
