When the team list for the Super eagles was released prior to their last 2 games for the AFCON qualifiers against Benin Republic and Lesotho. Paul Onuachu name was only good enough for the stand by list.

The reason Coach Gernot Rohr gave was that in his previous invitation he didn't score enough or didn't do well. While the list had the likes of Ahmed Musa that has not kicked a ball in a competitive gave in over 6 months made the cut.

This lead to massive outcry nation wide that Onuachu should be included especially with the incredible but undeniable record he has had this season

* Paul Onuachu have scored more goals this season than Messi, Ronaldo, Kane, Salah and Haaland in Europe is placed on the standby list by Genort Rohr.

*Paul Onuachu have scored 25goals in 29 League games for GENK making him the most inform Nigeria player in the world while Musa without a club for months gets invited to play just 2games??

To some Nigerians who spoke out they said
"
Onuachu’s exclusion again shows the technical deficiency of Rohr, who ought to by now have fashioned out a tactic to get this proven scorer getting the goals for Nigeria.

Some even wondered when the coach was talking of going back to bring Odion Ighalo.

This just shows the technical crew are fixated instead of looking for new player and effectively using the once we have we are talking about bringing back Odion Ighalo and sticking to Rosty Ahmed Musa.

But with the sudden inability of some players to make the cut made Paul Onuachu was just called to fill the gap.just to appease Nigerians

However in the game proper even when he was given just. 10 minutes to play he rescued Nigeria scoring the lone that gave us the victory. As if that was not enough in the last game against Lesotho he scored a superb Volley to make it 3. - 0.

Paul Onuachu has indeed silenced his critics with a back to back goals. This should serve as a lesson.
Because even the NPFL players they said can't play for super eagles. When Anayo Iwuala was introduced didn't disappoint
.

* that a player didn't score in one game doesn't make him bad. Especially if he has the potential to deliver. Kelechi Iheanacho is a good example everyone said he is finished but Branden Rogers believed in him today he is seen as Man United destroyer aka senior man.

*The coach needs to do enough to inspire confidence in our players. Because so many have been used and dumped thereby killing their confidence completely

* with the performance of Paul Onuachu he has shown that his goals in Europe is not a fluke and besides we can now have a capable and reliable bench should in case any striker is out.

Indeed Paul Onuachu has gone from Standby to starboy

Undeniably the hottest African striker at the moment in terms of goals scored, but I won't be quick to condemn Gernot Rohr for trying to drop Onuachu.... There are some powerful forces controlling the Franco-German tactician that's why he invited a rusty and worn out Musa.

I still have my reservations for Onuachu though, but for this very moment, dude deserve all the praises he gets.

Like, Our Oyibo Coach left a player with 25 league goals this season for a "clubless" Musa?

I doubt if this foreign coach truly want our progress.

Genk Celebrate Onuachu’s Goal Vs Lesotho

Genk congratulated Paul Onuachu after he netted in the Super Eagles 3-0 win against Lesotho, in Tuesday’s 2021 AFCON qualifier.

Onuachu scored in back-to-back games in the double-header against Benin Republic and Lesotho.

Just like the game against Benin at the weekend, Onuachu came on in the second half and made it 3-0 off an assist from Henry Onyekuru.

He has now scored three international goals in the colours of the Super Eagles.

And commenting on the performance of Onuachu and his Genk teammates who were involved in the international break, Genk wrote:”Our internationals again delivered a great job. Ex-captain Trossard also scored his first two goals for the Red Devils.

“Ito two goals, Arteaga played 90 minutes for Mexico, Onuachu another goal for Nigeria.”

Isn't this the reason we opted for a foreign coach? Why waste money to employ a foreign when you will still control his team selections? Why not employ a local coach and save cost?

When KANU was playing for Nigeria some said he looks too feeble infact KANU did not score a single goal in AFCON for all his years

But do you know what? KANU will always be remembered as one of Nigeria's great. So if Onuachu can put the ball in the net who cares if he is tall or eyz ... Just put him to do that simple

After all Rashidi Yekini was only chock and shot.... And he delivered nothing like dribble

This is Nigeria my bro.

-Employ a grade 1 foreign coach so you can eat from his fat pay and turn him to your puppet like Lars Largerback, Berti Vogts and the super falcons coach.

-Or employ a good local coach that would come to the media to shout about unpaid allowances and glaring mismanagement of funds.

Hope you get the illustration Kris?

The situation is appalling.

The level of corruption in NFF is grandeur yet Buhari is fighting corruption.

I doubt if this foreign coach truly want our progress.

He already stated Musa would not play. He was there as the captain and for reasons of team unity.

In times past, these were issues that used to cause turmoil. But the Superior Eagles have been calm for a while.

BTW wasn't it the same Rohr who took Onuachu to the Afcon and started him over the likes of Onyekuru and Osimhen?

The fact is, while he has always been great for club, this is the first time he is performing for country.

He deserves all the accolades but he needs to be consistent with it and make use of whatever opportunities he gets

And it's a lesson to us all. When your time comes, no one can stop your shine - when opportunity meets preparations
