Genesis is a name taken from the Greek, and signifies “the book of generation or production;” it is properly so called, as containing an account of the origin of all things.

There is no other history so old.

There is nothing in the most ancient book which exists that contradicts it; while many things recorded by the oldest heathen writers, or to be traced in the customs of different nations, confirm what is related in the book of Genesis.

Grab your Bible cautiously with respect and honour within your heart and mind, read slowly and meditatively study the very production chapter.

Genesis is not the only book od its kind available out there.

There is the Book of Jasher, also mentioned in the same Bible. It is available to download and read from online somewhere. It tells the same stories you find in the book of Genesis, only with more detail added.

Also, there is no such thing as grabbing your Bible with respect and honor. A book is an inanimate object and so unless your intention is to protect it from damage, your emotions are wasted.

I once studied Genesis and concluded that all major Christian doctrines are in there. Just like a constitution, exodus to revelation just like interpretation. The book is rich in information, many of which are coded.

The book of Jasher is not the book of chronicles, nor is it a chronicle of the conquest of the kings of israel and their exploits. It is a record of many of the same stories in the book of Genesis, & Exodus, only told from some other perspective.

If you have no clue what the book is really about, no need to make up stories since all you need do is ask Google for help on finding you a copy of it. Read it and you learn what it contains... this is hoping you are not afraid of books.
