I applied for Tony Elumelu foundation and I just got their email for training scheduled to start soon.

Please has any one here gone through this process before?
Please share your experience. Especially the mistakes u made and how the winners were selected.

Those who also got the mail please gather here let's discuss the our future.

I applied sometime ago in 2019, got mail, but never responded, never needed it no more.

Aim is making comfortable money,

That I have achieved,

That Email became worthless to me.

Hi guys. Things to consider for the Tony Elumelu Foundation
1. Be fluent in speaking
2. Know your product well
3. Have a proper pitch deck show casing your product
4. Do a summary video of your product not more than 3mins in video
5. Do a business plan for your product and have it ready (They might not need it)
6. Ensure to have at least one member of your team on ground
7. If you can do a brand (Tshirt of Cap) ensure to wear it during your pitch or video
8. Know your financial analysis well and ensure your business is able to make profit

I guess this could be kick starter for you.

Am here for further questioning. God bless you

I was picked and my friend did hers last two years and she was paid $5000.
She is mentoring me, what l have learnt so far are,
Follow the training meticulously
Make sure to carry out assignments and projects..
Go to YouTube and learn how to pitch your product or services, if you fall under disruptors , make sure to showcase a sample of your product while pitching. Your pitching must be highly professional.
The last part is your business plan, they will keep rejecting it untill you do a good job . Once your business plan is approved, that is when you have finally arrived and can start planning on what to do with the grant.
