it would have been nice if you are clear with your points though. When you say sexual sin, I hope you're not referring to David committing any sin by having wives because he was not the only one that did that then. infact it was a common practice then. whether you are a king or commoner.
And if David had sinned by marrying wives don't you think he would have known just as he knew about the Uriah wife.

and yes concubine is a western culture which is frowned at in most African cultures. It doesn't mean people don't have them though.
Sex within a marriage is not considered sexual sin. Polygamy....I am yet to find where Almighty God declares it a sin anywhere in scripture...extrabiblical scripture also considered undecided

Keeping of concubines is however fornication/sexual sin.

The real marriage that stands in the register of God is the consent of the parents and paying bride price.

Though making vow before the alter is good, but the former is more accepted by God and biblical than the later.
Where in the Bible does God inform you that consent of parents is necessary before a man and woman can become one? undecided

The OP is an hypothetical question and you and yours already have your own self will so why this joke? Anyways, on a general level and for those who may be one way or the other genuinely affected. The situation is that such a couple/marriage is pretty much useless in a New Testament church or for any tangible work in the body of Christ. It is also important for the affected to take care of all the children. The teaching of the Bible concerning marriage is that TWO become ONE. THREE or FOUR do not become ONE. They are housemates and housemates they shall remain until death. Now that you are repented, you still need to be responsible for your mistakes. You will still be "married" to them if you claim to be LEGALLY married and vowed to them. Let me ask you, the Samaritan woman at the well, who "legally" had five husbands. Will you advice her to keep sleeping with her five husbands after her encounter with Jesus?
Joh 4:17  The woman answered and said, I have no husband. Jesus said unto her, Thou hast well said, I have no husband:
Joh 4:18  For thou hast had five husbands; and he whom thou now hast is not thy husband: in that saidst thou truly.

From the Scriptures which is our Guide, what is Permitted by GOD Almighty the institutor of Marriage is one man one wife.
See Matthew 19:4-9.
Your rightful wife is the first woman you Legally got married to. Every other woman is a Husband snatcher , Home breaker, Home Shatterer, Sin Partner and Adulterer.

As long as the First woman you got married to is alive, she is your wife.
Now that you are Saved, you have to call them together, Probably with their parents or family representatives. You let them know that based on your Repentance and belief in God's word, you want to make things right.

You settle 2nd , 3rd, 4th and so on. You send them to their home of their Parents. The kids are your kids so they remain under your care.

The first woman you married is your wife.

Pleasing GOD is the most important thing to do in all our decisions if Making Heaven means anything to you

Well done sir. What happens to who marries the wives sent away? Bros, sending them away is only applicable if the husband wants to be a bishop or else it is woe to whoever marries the wives sent away.

That's amounting to wilful sinning after receiving knowledge of truth.

Hebrew 10 : 26 - 27.
26. For if we sin willfully after we have received the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins,
27. But a certain fearful expectation of judgment, and fiery indignation which will devour the adversaries.

If your wives have children for you, you don't need to send them away empty handed.
I believe your first wife is your legal wife, keep her but you can also take care of your other wives and children.
Where does God declare this in scripture? undecided

Happy Sunday brethren.
Let me go straight to the point.

If I have three wives when am still in the world and the 3 of them are legally and fully married.
All of them have children 6,4, and 2 children respectfully.

And today am now a born again.
And the word of God only permit only wife.
.so in this case what do I do.

1 should I sent two of them away and stick with only one.
2 should I sent the three of them away.

3. or should I keep the three of them?
what should one do in this condition?
Somebody asked me this question and I don't know what to reply him.

Please who can give us a reasonable answer biblically?

I will be very happy if it can be pushed to the front page. God bless you all.

Your question is if you have 3 wives?

My question to you........
If you are legally married to them .......through which institution(s)?
Was it done to completion?

Now you claim to be born again......who brought you to the knowledge of Christ Jesus your Redeemer?
What is his/her input on this question of yours?

Your responses will guide me on my next.

At the back of your mind just know that Scripture is vast and it goes beyond the wisdom of men. It is prepared and written by God that the reasonings and futile thoughts of men may remain insignificant to the power of the Most High God.

Shalom.

Am finding it difficult to get your question.

my question is clear, am not actually the one in question.

Again let me understand your own meaning of being legally married.

let me repeat my self again.

If I have three wives when am still in the world and I paid their bride prize and every ceremonies were completed.

Now that an a born again, do I sent them away?

I will be glad to receive your response . God bless you .

Please don't forget they all have children for me.
Thank you.

So you mean all those married before the death of Jesus and even the one Jesus himself attended have committed adultery

you have not answered my question. my question is those who married before Jesus did they commit adultery. After all sin of adultery have been in existence before Jesus coming to the earth.
.
That I should send my wives and children away because am a Christian. Any one who got married to those women did they not commit adultery. Mind you their parents williyfully gave them out for marriage

In other words I should sent the other two away with their children ? hmm any Bible backup?

This will sound like an heresy but it's my opinion and understanding of the bible. As long as you being celibate for life doesn't affect your eternity so does your eternity not attached to how many wives you have.

As long as they are wives and not concubines.

What is important is are you truly born again? Are you trying your best to please the Lord? (no one is perfect) And are your family members born agains too.

There is no place where the Bible says one wife one man. I may be wrong o and I want who ever can show me where it is written that "thou shall not marry more than one wife" to point it out to me.
We are all learning daily.

The whites brought along their culture with the Bible when they came and Africans bought into it all including monogamy and dressing.

Jesus said when "He made them He made them a man and a woman". That doesn't mean he said man can not marry more than one wife.

"This why a man shall leave his parents and cling to his wife and why a woman shall leave her family and cling to her husband" this is one of the verses that scholars use for arguments. They claim if God wanted a man to have more than one wife, the sentence would have been "this is why a man shall leave his parents and cling to his WIVES" Well, the argument sounds nice and logical but have they forgotten that each of the wives is a wife not wives. So, the Bible doesn't need to use a plural for each of them.

When Paul was addressing the church he said, "He who wants to be a Bishop, Deacon and leader among you should be a man of one wife"

He said that to those who want to lead in the church not all the congregation. And why?
To be good leaders, you must be a good example and not one the church elders will be settling quarrels for every now and then because of the wives. (It is not easy to mage a woman not to talk of two or three)

But if you know you can take care of your wives as a Christian and still live a holy life and train your kids on the way of the Lord then, go ahead.

Now to your questions about sending the wives away.
You will be evil if you do so. You saw them, wooed them, made promises to them just to divorce them. That's evil.

Would their living with you affect your worship to the Lord.

Preach the gospel to them. Get them born again, and live your lives for God.

Thats is!

OK I should send them away and keep the children? let me get your point. Thanks
let them take care of their children but continue your fatherly role to them.
Polygamy, and divorce where not God's perfect will, it was enforce because of hardness of heart.

Hi dear. I've heard of a case like this before. Cast this care upon Jesus and leave it to Him to handle. The case I heard of, it was the women who left themselves after he committed the situation into God's hands. It wasn't an immediate result but gradual... the first wife was left with him. Don't make decisions based on human advice or understanding. Let God lead you to make the right decisions. I believe everything will sort itself out. Don't make hasty decisions that you'll regret. Follow the promptings or leadings of the Holy Spirit. Allow your Abba Father to handle this.

The women were unbelievers. They weren't interested anymore and they left. So how's that God's fault?

Just trying to understand where God fits into the whole deal is all. undecided

So, God had absolutely nothing to do with the other wives choosing to leave, and it was not that the man frustrated them out of some guilt that they eventually decided to pack up and leave? undecided

I ask because if in this guy's case, his wives do not make the move to leave, he does not maybe take it to mean God is against him, or something of that sort. undecided

So every human should make decisions without bringing God to the picture? He should just go on ahead with whatever decisions without honouring God in his actions? I don't need to continue this discussion.

what I am aware done in this case is this, you choose 1 among the 3 to be having sexual relationship with but care for all the 3 financially, the other 2 are free to remarry if they want.the kids are 100% your responsibility.when Christianity came to Africa more than a 100 years ago, this practice was very common. most men had multiple wives and this was how the church solved it
so if one among the 2 happens to be ur sister, u will gladly see reasons with the man in question? It's just a question

This is why I always tell people to run away from religion(Chrislamjew). 70% of many things that happened in the scriptures they don't know. Get a good bible and study yourself, the truth will come to you.

Marriage is a covenant right and we could also call it Gods commandment. He never specified how many we should marry. Yea, in the Torah, many had wives and even concubine yet the creator loved them and even called one, a man after his heart and another his friend. One can have many wives and still be righteous. So if you decide to put away 2 of the wives, you have broken a covenant and God's command which is sin. The scripture says " sin is the transgression of the law".

Go and meet your pastor, tell him you took a vow when you married those women and if you breach it by putting away 2 of them you will sin and break God's command. If he disagree and say it's a lie that you should put them away.....RUN AWAY from that church! If thou vow a thing........you must fulfil it.
