What does a tech startup without product then use for pitching and is there a specific way to pitching?

For those providing services, you have no solid product to showcase, just pitch your ideas very well, go to YouTube, the answers are there, learn from them, for now, let focus on the training, when the time for pitching comes, l will do my best to give tips and guidelines from old members. Thank you

What category were you enrolled in? Startup, innovator or disruptor?

I haven't seen my email yet but I'm in disruptor category. It was stated in their website that invitation to start courses will be done by May 3rd.
it's the training that will start on 3rd may, I have also received my invitation 4days ago and I'm in Disruptor category.

Hi guys. Things to consider for the Tony Elumelu Foundation
1. Be fluent in speaking
2. Know your product well
3. Have a proper pitch deck show casing your product
4. Do a summary video of your product not more than 3mins in video
5. Do a business plan for your product and have it ready (They might not need it)
6. Ensure to have at least one member of your team on ground
7. If you can do a brand (Tshirt of Cap) ensure to wear it during your pitch or video
8. Know your financial analysis well and ensure your business is able to make profit

I guess this could be kick starter for you.

Am here for further questioning. God bless you
how do you do all this for a startup

You can login to your tefconnect and connect with more Nigerian participants, or at least click on any of their profile and copy their number then start a chat on WhatsApp.

i was placed in the disruptors category though its a startup business . i dont have a working business website and a business name yet though i filled them on the form, dont have active youtube and facebook but im working on getting all these. can absence of any of these determine someones selection at any of the stages?

What determines your selection is how well you carry out any assignment and project given to you, most of them are videos.
Secondly, how well you pitch your product, it's like you trying to convince them to invest in you, so you have to go all out for that pitching, that is where the main shortlisting takes place.
Lastly, how up to standard your business plan is, that is the last phase, by then you must have gotten your business name, logo(very important) because it will be included in the business plan, your business website and registration.

If your business plan is rejected many times, l think they have a limit for submission or so, once it's not approved, no payment.

Ask your questions here and let him respond so that others like you, and those who will come after you can learn. This will also sustain traffic flow to Nairaland.com.

Meanwhile, how can I access their training curriculum for all 3 categories legitimately? I will like to listen to, watch or read it.

And, I wish you guys the best! $5000.00 may not mean much to some people, but to those who need it, it means a lot. Please make the most of the opportunity if and when it eventually comes.

What are tips to perform well in the training phase of Tony Elumelu Foundation??
Re: What's The Best Way To Prepare For Tony Elumelu Foundation Competition by oriyomin258: 5:08am On Apr 30, 2021
I believe the OP will help with some answers to the majority of the questions but here is the little I can offer.

1. To those saying they haven't seen the message from TEF, please check the "spam" or "important" message in your mailbox, you can also scroll down and check carefully if you are the type that receives a lot of messages. It happened to a friend and this is what I advised, he later realized that he had unknowingly received the message.
2. Please take some time out to use google search and watch youtube tube videos on TONY ELUMELU FOUNDATION (TEF) i.e FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions), Business plan template (to develope yours if you cant pay to get it done), how the pitching is done and to know more about the program and what to expect... I belive this will reduce the amount of questions the OP will av to attend to and also save you the stress of waiting for your questions to be answerd, and it never be answered.
3. Login Tefconnnect.net with the mail you registered with and add yourself to some groups there, mostly the groups which your business ideas fall in, connect with other participant and participate in the dicussions.
I wish all of us ease and the best in the training.
