While it is beautiful having an interview invite, it is also necessary to look for certain parameters before visiting an interview center. These parameters am about to tell you is for your security most importantly.

We live in an insecure Nigeria where kidnapping, banditary, rituals, terrorism and other criminality is on the rise. This is not a time to just receive a nice call from a stranger and just jump into action or visitation.

Tips to consider before visiting an interview area.

(1) Is the invite from a well-known organization: if the invite is from a well-known organization with company address, tangible email and domain such as: e.g abcde@accessbank.com etc, then you are free to go without fear. If it's from a company you don't know about, make thorough online search to see if their email and details given to you match the details on their website. Also check the staff on their website and see if they are in social/job media platforms e.g LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter.

(2) Make sure you have a phone call with your loved ones, describing the place before entering the interview center.

(3) Do not go for job interviews you didn't apply for or the ones with "you are invited for interview for the position of an office professional"... Be Careful with vague job titles that can match many career types...This could be a bait to attract several people.

(4) Don't be desperate. If you are desperate, you could enter into the hands of criminals.

(5) If you are going for interview in an unknown company, don't create awareness nor give details on the day you are coming for the interview. Just go early, watch the environment, pass necessary details to your loved ones, ask those around the area about the organization e.g elder people.

Timely

Please don’t hide your job offers, we are not dragging it with you. You can search the number, name or address using the Nairaland searchbar. If that doesn’t bring anything tangible, create a thread. Highest Nlders will use bad mouth on you, but you’ll get the information you seek.

If at all you go for a “scam” interview and make it out alive, please warn others. See something, say something... You just might be saving a life.

This is quite useful because there so many people sending job interview messages to people these days only to get there to know that you’ve wasted your time, resources and energy. Especially all these Neolife people

To HELL with physical job openings that can't even assure one of even $2k(Two thousand Dollars) in six(6) months monies set aside.
Online/Remote job is Bae.....one is assured of adequate rest and hard foreign currencies involved.
All those security measures won't bother you if you are gainfully working online/virtually
Enough time for yourself and peace of mind.

That's why ill keep telling people to get involved legally online...if you yet have an Online Skill Set do everything in your financial capacity to acquire one ONLINE SKILL.
Anyways if you have access to Internet + PC/Browsing gadgets and you ain't earning even @least $5 daily then its your undoing!

Proactivity Leads To Productivity

Also important, please share your live location with your loved ones on whatsapp. It's very very important.

Go to your whatsapp,

Go to the person's name you want to share with,

Open the ribbon like icon as if you want to share images or videos or documents,

You will see location, tap on it.,

Allow whatsapp permission to your location,
tap share live location.

Even the kidnapper responsible for this one is said to have LinkedIn profile.

The point being made here is that, seeing LinkedIn profiles is not enough to make you loose guard. Rather send the info of such LinkedIn to your loved ones. If they don't have LinkedIn, send whatever details of them to your loved ones.

Look well...
Some decades back,I had a close contact for a big business in Kaduna.
I stopped to a lonely hotel in a quiet sub-urb, as I knew nowhere around.
I booked for two days as I never knew if the business transaction would take more than two days...
As I entered the hotel lounge, towards my booked apartment, I felt cold. The cold sensation was not only unusual but equally ominous....
It was about 7pm, already dark but I played a smart one.
I came out of the hotel immediately, looked around, there was drugs store close by...
walked in and greeted a young man seen in the shop....
politely,I made an inquiry in respect to the lonely hotel close by...
He asked if I had already booked and I answered in the affirmative.
He told me to go pick my things,I shouldn't stay there but gave no reason but I understood the danger I was in...
I left the dangerous hotel immediately with direction, I was able to secure a safe hotel far away...
who knew what would have happened?
Kidnapping or ritual...
at least one of the above...

Look well...
Nigeria is deadly.
