Their exploits are for CNN and BBC. They rarely come back to contribute anything to Nigeria. That's why illiterates and whatnots from the north are ruling.
I heard an argument the other day from someone about Nigerians being renowned for their exploits world over and then Nigeria being in a mess. Its almost as if Nigerians believe their academic achievements should automatically make the lives of Nigerians at home better. It doesn't work that way. Even if we have Nigerians leading the best ivy league schools in the world, and they prefer to stay back in America and the UK, Nigeria doesn't benefit anything from them. When these Nigerians abroad start to learn that it is good to give back to their communities with their knowledge and resources, that is when Nigeria will actually benefit from them. As of now, their achievements are personal and of no benefit to anyone in Nigeria.
