Inter Milan have ended their 11-year wait for the Serie A title and former Manchester United striker Romelu Lukaku has been at the heart of their success.

When the Belgian made the £74m switch to the Nerazurri in August 2019, he had big boots to fill, replacing Mauro Icardi as Inter’s main striker.

Although the Argentine’s time at Inter was tainted by off-field controversy, on the pitch he was one of their most reliable performers, with 111 goals in 169 Serie A starts.

Lukaku left United with 42 goals in 96 games across two years, but his scoring tailed off, with 26% of his tally coming in the first two months of his Old Trafford career, and he received criticism for a perceived lack of workrate, a wayward touch and wasteful finishing.

He didn't flop at Man utd. Ole's decision to sell a player that is better than Martial speaks volume......Juventus was ready to swap dybala plus cash for lukaku but Man u turned down the offer for outright 75M.

hmm....I don't understand where u coming from because the lukaku i saw at united was a big flop n couldn't even score easy goals even if we all know dt he was better in Everton...
why would ole sell a inform striker to inter?
he scored 42 goals in 96 caps in united and now doing 61 goals in 92 in inter....maybe his man.u stint was average BT frustrating for such fee paid for him..

My point is, Ole never gave him the chance. Before Martial was relegated to the bench, we saw the countless opportunities Ole gave him. Lukaku never had the confidence and trust of his manager.

This clearly shows that Ole never liked him. In terms of performance, he was better than Martial & Rashford but the amateur coach decided to get rid of him. His loss automatically became Conte's win.
