I am not, I’m just saying it as it is in the Nigerian context.

There are boys that have been actually abused by those they trusted. But a 15yr old boy and a 21yr old girl?
C'mon mehn, it can generate serious problems over there were gender equality is a serious business.

But not here were customary and religious beliefs are more powerful than your own basic human rights.

I find it contradictory that people who live comfortably in a country were a middle aged senator got married to a 12 yr old girl, are raving at a tryst between a boy whose age mates here have murdered people in religious riots and acts of terrorism, and a girl who at 21yrs would very possibly still be financially dependent on others.

You're a little bit wrong. A paedophile is a person that is sexually attracted to prepubescent children. prepubescent means children from 12 years and below. It's possible in some countries that prepubescent children would be 13years and below.

So an adult having sex with 15 year is not a paedophile.

Now, imagine the sentiments and half knowledge we use to judge things here. And majority of us here are educated o and do not know this... Lol

It even means that in a case like Baba Ijesha 's, a good lawyer would save him from prison.. Lolz

If he is charged for statutory rape, well I don't know if that is in our laws and constitution, but the court and judge may not be able to answer why people with similar cases are not prosecuted up north in nigeria.

Aren't there girls of 15 years that are willing to have sex with older men?
The baba ijesha's case the girl is 14. Look at the widespread condemnation he has received.

Now if the genders were reversed and it was a 14 year old boy and a 41year old woman I'm very sure nobody would say anything. All the actors and actresses would suddenly lose their tongues, nobody would stage a protest at the police station to prevent the female rapist from being granted bail.

In your mind it is bad if the victim is a girl/woman, but if the victim is a boy/man it is good.
