broda had to read again because all what he said there was with sense, so many people have comprehension problem I swear, it's not a federal offence makes it better sef, any State government can determine how best to handle it's problem, which will only be supported by the federal govt... Abi I no read well ni...

Nairaland seems to be regressing in average intelligence unfortunately

A simple Google search would have shown these unintelligent arguers that many states had passed their own law on Kidnapping. For example in 2009, Abia and Enugu State House of Assembly passed a law making Kidnapping with use of a gun a capital offence, while Rivers state makes kidnapping of any sort Life imprisonment. In order words Evans for example should thank his stars that he's not being prosecuted in Abia or Enugu where upon being declared guilty, he would be hanged.

I think this man's law degree certificate supposed to be withdrawn from him because this utterance alone shows that he lacks the basic knowledge of law. No wonder Nigeria is the way it is... half-baked people in the realm of affairs.

His certificate should be withdrawn and given to you?

Meanwhile pls educate us by your "basic knowledge of law" how Lai is wrong?

Let me make some assumptions from your write-up here

1. You've hardly read the "constitution" in which you conjure this argument.
2. It will be unfortunate if you've gone beyond O'level and make watery argument like this. Pray tell, why would a Federal Government take declare a state of Emergency and take over a case of Kidnappers and Bandits already caught? Is it that you struggle with the context of this discourse, hence your exaggerated pseudo intelligence?

The issues are simple. By current laws Kidnapping & Banditry are prosecuted by states. Laws are written and amended from time to time They are not based on emotional feelings of near-non-existent people

When you argue make sure you know with whom and what you are arguing about, your jabs about o level and other insults portrays you as a delusional loudmouth. The Constitution is very clear on the powers of the Federal government to declare a state of emergency, the Constitution is also very clear about the protection of lives and the rights of every Nigerian to live peacefully without fear or intimidation. Your ignorant deluded mindset wants to school me about the Nigerian Constitution? Did you just said, a case of kidnapping? You meant cases upon cases, you meant killings upon killings. are we talking about those alreasdy caught or the constant kidnappings still occurring? In a sane society, marshall law would have been declared but low IQ minds such as yours will defend the indefensible. You mentioned, by current laws Kidnapping & Banditry are prosecuted by states, did I argue against this? My argument was strictly focused on the federal government not carrying out its duty of oversight and watching as things continue to deteriorate.

I would have taken you more seriously if you argued based on merit rather than try to portray intellectual superiority through insults but alas a dog must smell yansh no matter the training. Improve your netiquette and check yourself before you wreck yourself!

1. You're a non-starter. How do I or can I now the "you" that I'm arguing with when your submission is sub-par?
2. I wonder if t's my fault that you have comprehension issues. Or do I need to refer you to look at the topic again (something you should have done before making low-level off-topic submission. You brought argument that is not in context of the topic of this discussion and your emotional-laden submission here bereft of any sound analysis is useless to me.
3. Let me make it easy for you - By Law are cases of Kidnapping & Banditry State or Federal? Save yourself some shame if you have any, stop digging. Any other useless submission you make that speaks outside this context simply makes you look shallower

It's clear that you're just plain ignorant and was probably dropped on the head as a child. First you attacked me by saying it is unintelligent to expect the Federal government to declare state of emergency due to kidnappings, you now maintain the viewpoint that the entire premise is against the opening topic? Yet I'm the one with the subpar argument? You could have done yourself a favor by not quoting me but your constant need for validation meant you couldn't resist, I'm not going to sit here and argue against your strawman theories because you obviously know nothing about the Constitution. Yes kidnappings are prosecuted by the states but does that negate the power of the Federal government to intervene? What does the law say about matters of national security/terrorism? If the danger of one state leads to the danger of others, does the Federal government just sit back and drink kunu until the entire region is affected? I know topics like this one is far beyond your thinking capabilities but I don't think I can make it much simpler for you, even my 10 year old nephew can deduce what I'm getting at, so please refrain from quoting me again unless you want to be unfortunate in life but if you refuse then continue arguing with your keyboard because I won't dignify you with another response.....PEACE!

I keep seeing that you either have comprehension issues or you want to (albeit dumbly) introduce context that are outside the purview of discussion or want to lie outrightly. where on earth did I remotely allude to what you "manufactured" in the underlined. You're plain dumb. That is why I said you're making more emotional cries rather than rational and logical arguement. Check this - Lai Muhammed said "prosecuting cases of banditry and kidnapping is the responsibilities of state governments and not federal government"; the simple contention is, is Lai Muhammed right or wrong according to the law? That is how you fail simple comprehension.

Let me humour myself with another dumb submission of yours. So after you discovered the futility of your lame argument against the power of States to prosecute cases Kidnapping and Banditry. Let me address you mundane pseudo logic quoted here

Yes kidnappings are prosecuted by the states but does that negate the power of the Federal government to intervene? What does the law say about matters of national security/terrorism? If the danger of one state leads to the danger of others

You see, that is why it would have been advisable to table your ignorance by asking questions so that you can be educated than this crude arrogance that makes you sound dumber.
1. How do you want the Federal Government to intervene in a case not within there jurisdiction? What sort of government system is that? Oh! so Malami should go to state courts and excuse states AGs from cases or order judges to back off? Intervene how?
2. What does the law say about national security? I was expect you to quote the aspects of the law you refer to beyond this your juvenile statement but pray tell, I think you do not even know that according to law Terrorism is different from Kidnapping and Banditry?

The other issue with your comprehension deficit I quote below

does the Federal government just sit back and drink kunu until the entire region is affected?
Dumbo! we are discussing "prosecution". You don't even know what PROSECUTION means. It is charging kidnappers and bandits to court, following through till verdict. Prosecution is not carrying guns to war against bandits. Chai. What class are you?

Comprehension! Comprehension!!, Comprehension!!!..... try get one
