On second point, you have to look at the calibre of people getting funding in Nigeria, most are not from the average joe family and many studied abroad or are dual nationalities. To get it correctly, only few are accepted.

90% of persons advising you to resign don't have any meaningful job/business
You can start savings or better still invest in cryptos and stocks with 5-10% of your monthly salary.
As for your car, if the distance to work is far, keep your car I don't think it would cost much maintenance as you only drive in the morning and evening then occasionally during weekends
If you have a wife, get her engaged in a descent profitable venture

Dude, Bolt isn’t what it is cracked up to be.
As a matter of fact if not having time for your family is the reason you would want to quit your job then Bolt will not allow you to be with your family neither.
To keep up with family needs you will need to work tirelessly from morning to night.
Don’t mind all these people preaching 100k in 2 weeks. No be beans. There is car issues, maintenance, clash with law enforcement and task force, etc. now put family needs in the mix.
Bolt is becoming too oversaturated to wanna quit your job and hang on to it. People ain’t making as much as they used to. Even 25k returns per week now is becoming a serious hassle.

Just stick with your job and hope to get a reasonable person to do the bolt for you.

Like I said understanding of route and traffic laws is the key to Bolt/Uber driving in Nigeria.

Say you are stationed around the airports, Island, Maitama, Asokoro etc you can be very lucky if you are the early bird type.

Don't resign from your job, one of the ways of moving forward in the banking industry, is gaining experience in one bank and applying for higher position in another bank.

Instead of resigning, have 2 streams of income.

Work in your bank and give your car out for hire purchase.

Please do not give your car for hire purchase. Even a blood related driver will frustrate you.

He can use his on weekends or holidays. Its better you other business than daily or hire purchase for uber other form of transport business.

Daily delivery: the driver knows you are fully responsible maintenance, he uses your recklessly.

Hire Purchase: of course he is responsible for maintenance. However he needs to care for himself/his family; and then to you as the owner of the car. Who he will do is to join others of like mind for contribution. The essence of the contribution is to buy his own car. The pressure to care of himself and family; maintenance the car (for the time he needed to care himself and buy a new car. The practice is that for the first 4 weeks or so he will pay your money to give false confidence that he is up to the task, then after that he beginning to give excuses of police, lastma etc to avoid weekly payment. Once he gets his own car or something to make him independent, you will the full blown of his attitude.

Giving the nature of banking work, you will hardly have time to manage the business. The best thing is if you can have time to combine your banking job and the transport business.

Advice: Set a time for yourself to save for the business (e-hailing, that is uber and others) you can personally manage then you pull out of the banking job rat race. Before you pull out, ensure you have information about the current state of things on the business.


If you can not do it yourself, do not waste your hard money. Even soldiers that have money and means to deal with the non-sense of driver are frustrated out of the business.

Let me tell you as it is: you won't make anything tangible, the fares are marginal, anything you make, you use to service your vehicle, fuel and bolt commission, plus you're exposed to massive risks especially at night...oh and you have to put in times 2 of the hours you currently put in to make just half of what you currently make. My advice: stay with your job, the way you got this car, get another, put it out for hire purchase and use it as a side hustle...
