Yes, Islam has been in Yorubaland centuries before the first Fulani kingdom would arrive in the North.

That said, could you (@Olu317) shed some more light on the following line from your foregoing comment?:

“••• go into sacred chamber backwardly as being done in Kaaba

Cheers!

Islam as a religion is an ideology ! This ideology is enshrine in some of the ideologies of obatala's (king Ala) beliefs. From the name as God of purity , to avoidance of alchohol drinking, moldelling of human beings, in a chapter of one of the odu, divination system~herbology knowledge attached to the lineage in etc . The name did not change nor ideology but reformists.

Futhermore, the word Kuran(Quran) is proclamation ; i.e chanting of Ala existence and his dictate through prophet Muhammad. This word is also found in ancient Hebrew as Koran from Kara with same meaning . This word is kèrè ( proclamation ) in Yoruba land.

On the last backward entrance, kindly ask Alhaji/Alhaja how stone is throne at the devil in Mecca , positioning and raising of left hands!

I cant go beyond this. However, certainly I will reveal at the right time.

Olu317:
Islam as a religion ••• is enshrine in some of the ideologies of obatala's (king Ala) beliefs.
Loud sighs!

The Yoruba word “ala” in the name Obatala has absolutely nothing to the with the Arabic name “Allah”.

Apparent sound & roman-orthographic appearance are not the basis of connections between words. To make matters worse, they don’t even sound alike, nor are their respective meanings identical or similar.

The Yoruba word “ala” literally means “white cloth”. In contrast, the Arabic name “Allah” literally means “the self-existent, perfect being”.

Linguistics is not so dumb that linguists simply look for similarity of sound & appearance in order to draw linguistic or/and historical connections.

From the name as God of purity, to avoidance of alchohol drinking, moldelling of human beings, in a chapter of one of the odu, divination system~herbology knowledge attached to the lineage in etc . The name did not change nor ideology but reformists.
This is the poorest attempt you’ve ever made at misinforming the public.

This is because the traditional accounts unanimously remember Obatala as an individual who is given to drinking. He loves to drink and get drunk.

Futhermore, the word Kuran(Quran) is proclamation ; i.e chanting of Ala existence and his dictate through prophet Muhammad. This word is also found in ancient Hebrew as Koran from Kara with same meaning . This word is kèrè (proclamation) in Yoruba land.
First of all, the Arabic word you mentioned here indeed begins with a “Q” equivalent, and not a “K” equivalent. The letter “K” has only come down to us from classical English transliteration of this Arabic word.

To maintain a “K” equivalent (i.e. kaf) in the Arabic is to have a meaningless word, viz. “Kur’an”.

Despite that, the Arabic word “Qur’an” itself does not have the meaning you’ve made up for it here. “Qur’an” does NOT mean “proclamation”.

Moreover, regarding the Yoruba word “kere” which you tried to squeeze in (a falsehood on its own); the tonal diacritic you applied to it is another falsehood.

The tonal diacritic for “kere” is ‘mi, re,’ NOT ‘do, do’ which you ignorantly placed on it. In other words, it is “kére,” NOT “kèrè”. Kèrè is meaningless.

In any case, the Yoruba word “kére” has absolutely not a thing to do with the Arabic word “Qur’an”. And the noun “Qur’an” does not mean “proclamation”.

On the last backward entrance, kindly ask Alhaji/Alhaja how stone is throne at the devil in Mecca, positioning and raising of left hands!
Now to the actual question which I asked you:

How does the stoning of the “devil” have anything to do with entering the Ka’aba with the back turned to its entrance?? Are you kidding me now, or you’re just being plain ignorant??

Anyways, the Ka’aba is a building located in the city called Mecca, while the practice of stoning the “devil” during hajj is done in another city called Mina.

In sum, no stone is thrown at any devil in Mecca, nor is any left hand raised or positioned in the course of the stoning at Mina.

It is actually very okay to say the words “I actually do not know the answer to this” when asked a question about which we have no idea. It is high-time that this kind of mindset is normalized.

Regarding your claim of entering the Ka’aba while one’s back is turned to its entrance:

First of all, rarely does anyone enter the Ka’aba, and no one does so with the back. Stop making stuffs up.

I cant go beyond this. •••
Of course you can’t. Doing so would be disastrous.

Now debunking your above heap of crap, particularly the bolded:

(1) The Yoruba word “ala,” when translated into English, does NOT mean “white”. Instead it means “white cloth”.

~ See attached p. 31 of CMS’s Dictionary of Yoruba Language, 1913.

(2i) The English word “white,” when translated into Yoruba does NOT mean “supreme”. Instead, “white” translates to “funfun.

~ See attached p. 172 of CMS’s Dictionary of Yoruba Language, 1913.

(2ii) “Supreme” on the other hand, translates to “bori gbogbo,” or “ga ju lo,” or “lola ju lo,” NOTfunfun”.

~ See attached p. 145 of CMS’s “Dictionary of Yoruba Language,” 1913.

(3) The word “ala” (from Arabic language) translates to “except” in English language.

(4) The Arabic name “Allah” does not exist or occur in Yoruba language.

I dont mislead people but you do. Her is screenshot of signs on words, which are acute and grave. For your information yorubas are not the only people on this platform.
é(grave) ké= cry
é(grave) kéré : a word used to call attention of people,or proclaim
kéré: small, little.
While Kèrè/Kèrèo is proclaim,call
other variants kà: count,read
kàrá: make noise,to be loud

When in Yoruba language , a king, chief, leader sends an errand man, servant to inform the citizens during era of effective sound system. The servant call attention of citizens inthis regard and utter Kere o: calling attention , while the "o" is an euphony.

Arabic, Hebrew and Yoruba do share same vowel sound except for the fact that, Arabic has only three from vowel while Yoruba and Hebrew share same But while the Hebrew and the Arabic alphabets look different, they have a lot in common. Hebrew’s 22 letters correspond more or less to 22 of Arabic’s 28 letters.

They are both written from right to left, and they’re both “abjads”. An abjad, unlike an alphabet doesn’t have static letters for vowels. In Arabic and Hebrew, vowel sounds are instead marked with diacritics (in historical and religious texts) or without vowels at all (in all other texts).

While Arabic has a few more consonants, with the addition of some guttural sounds that don’t exist in Modern Hebrew, the Hebrew language has two more vowels than Arabic.

The vowels in both Arabic and Hebrew exist in long and short forms. In Hebrew, these vowels are a, e i, o and u, whereas Arabic only uses a, i and u.

The reason that the Hebrew language lacks the guttural sounds present in Arabic might be because of the fact that, before the revival of Hebrew, the Hebrew language was mostly a liturgical language studied by Jews in Europe, and not a language spoken a lot in everyday situations.

Dialectal Arabic on the other hand, has been continuously spoken as an everyday language (in its colloquial forms) by native speakers since the language came about and thereby preserving more aspects of its pronunciation.

Anyways, I’m glad you’ve taken correction to most of the points I pointed out to you, especially your funny-cum-weird mention of backward entrance into the Ka’aba.

Olu317:
You are highly ignorant of these things and you dont need sigh.
Oh really? I am ignorant of your imaginations of course.

This's because there are Yorubas whose surname is Àlá which means possesor, one who has, overwhelming owner. This is same as God. The same as Oni.
First of all, the word is NOT àlá (“àlá” means “dream”). The word you’re aiming at is alá — and it is not a word that can stand on its own. It is a prefix.

[Check your 1913 CMS’s Dictionary of Yoruba Language (which you attached) to confirm this free education I’m offering.]

Secondly, alá is a prefix equivalent to oní; and it means “one who has”).

This prefix is found in words like alá-àfin (“the one who has the palace”), while its equivalent would be oní-àfin (“the one who has the palace”).

Moreover, no Yoruba has Alá has a surname. Alá is not a word on its own. It is a prefix. Also, “Alá” is not the same as God, it is a prefix.

Alá would mean anything depending on the base that follows it. For example, alá-àìmọ̀ means “one who has ignorance”. Such does not describe God.

In sum, àlà (“white cloth”) is an entirely different word from alá (“one who has”), while each of these is entirely different from àlá (“dream”) . None of these words means God in any way, shape, or form.

2.Obatala does not mean king of white cloth but God of purity. And crediting this powerful god, he is referred as oba risa( king of risa).
The “ala” in Obatala does not mean “purity”. It means “white cloth”. Check out my attachment (the 1913 Dictionary of Yoruba Language) for the meaning of “purity”.

Help yourself with the screenshot.
Lol. The screenshot you attached confirms everything I’ve said. Àlà means “white cloth”.

Your own screenshot (the first one which is a recognized Yoruba dictionary) confirms that I was right.

Your second screenshot, although meaningless, is also sourceless. The fact that it is typed, in pdf form, and screenshoted means nothing.

Each and every Yoruba diacritic you applied here is false, except for ké for cry — which is apparently a coincidence.

Go bury your heads in mainstream books and learn these stuffs. I’ve paid my price. Go pay yours.

In a nutshell, Quran means what to you ? Lol grin
First of all, you’ve typed up nothing but gibberish here. Secondly your typed up gibberish is long in addition to being gibberish. Thirdly, your typed up gibberish does not support the question I had asked to you. Fourthly, Yoruba language has no linguistic connection to Arabic/Hebrew languages. Fifthly, I know Arabic, you don’t. Neither do you know Hebrew. Sixthly, your screenshot (with its meaningless and irrelevant content) is from the so-called book you claim you’re writing? Lol. I can go on and on.

Wait, did you really write in one of your screenshots that “Qur’an” means “he that calls”? God why? Thunder where are you? You’re the joke of the 21st century. Is this the so-called book you’re writing?

Go get a lexicon of Arabic and see what the word “Qur’an” means by yourself. Oh shoot! You don’t even know Arabic, how do I expect you to be able to use an Arabic lexicon?

Yea, your explanation looks more reasonable stoll trying to grasp the jargons and correlation tao11 is trying to form there

The word Alla is accurately same with yoruba's Ala and Ela. But the problem with these identities came as a result of different ideology to serving God. This is the reason , there has been loggerheads between the followers of these deity,in which the one who brought the idea became attached to the name, which were basically as a result of struggle over dominance which eventually went to the side of OduduIwa.

Without mincing word, Odudu Iwa is also known as odu Iwa or Igba Iwa,which is represented with a enclosed calabash that homage is paid at due period ataomewhere in Oore groove. This is indeed, one known as Rumiela or Ela ( God in self wisdom manifestation ). This wisdom is represented as the one with fertility of the womb, which make some Yorubas misunderstood this wisdom as feminine in nature. Interestingly some people think, God has one name called Eledumare(described wrongly by Idowu: Who say, Yoruba Eledumare does not concerns himself with affairs of men). Statement as this made some people think Eluiwa is different from oduduIwa.

Shut up! I know that. No one denied that.

I was only debunking your lie that it is done at Mecca.

I also asked how that is related to the actual question I asked you.

You had said that on entering the Kaaba, pilgrims go in with their back. I questioned that, and I debunked it — noting that no such thing happen.

I have given a leeway ; ask Alhaj or Alhaja, who has gone on pilgrimage.
Ask Alhaji/Alhaji that stone is throne at Mecca? Are you a joke? Stone is not thrown at Mecca, it is done at Mina — a different city from the city called Mecca.

First of all, no one dances round the Kaaba. Wait! Why are you making stuffs up? Are you sure you don’t want to seek professional medical help?

Secondly, the tonal diacritic you applied for losi and lajijo is completely false. It should be “lósì lósì làájíjó”.

You obviously know nothing about tonal diacritics of Yoruba words. Stop pretending like you do. Writing the words without any diacritic is more honorable than writing them with false diacritics — especially when you yourself know that you don’t know diacritics.

The word “Alla” in Arabic is NOT the same as the Arabic name “Allah”.

The following Arabic words have meanings as follows:

“Alla” — meaning “Except”

“Allah” meaning “God” (lit. “the self-existent, perfect being”).

Secondly, the following Yoruba words have meanings as follows:

“Àlà” — meaning: “White cloth”

“Àlá” — meaning: “Dream”

“Alá” — a prefix meaning: “One who has”

“Ãlà” (i.e. Ààlà) meaning: “Boundary”

Stop the deception.

Cheers!

If I inform you that the reason Kaaba was not of a privilege to people to enter was as a result of over crowing? Like I have mentioned , you dont know many of these things, in which I gave you clue towards it....

People who know about this ritual rite know. Infact, the black stone been taunted as been declared time immemorial to belonging to Abram.

Least, I forget, throwing stone to satan, backward entrance and anti clockwise dancing are all in Arabia. If I mention Kaaba, Mecca Medina, etc doesnt make me a liar but you erred more because , Kéré and kéré are homopone.

Screenshot of what you said it is gibberish ;D1911-1913Yoruba dictionary grin

Oga stop saying nonsense.

(1) Nobody enters the Kaaba with the back — bring your evidence if you must remain ignorant.

(2) I didn’t talk about about black stone at any point. So, stop the childish distraction. And the black stone does not belong to Abraham, anyways.

(3) Nobody dances around the Kaaba in Islam — bring your evidence if you must remain ignorant.

(4) Nobody throws stone to any devil at Mecca, it is done at Mina (a different city) — bring your evidence if you must remain ignorant.

but you erred more because , Kéré and kéré are homopone. Screenshot of what you said it is gibberish ;D1911-1913Yoruba dictionary grin
First of all, you clearly know absolutely nothing about tonal diacritics of Yoruba words. Humble yourself I may teach you that — free of charge.

Secondly, the dictionary you attached does not support one thing from what you’ve been typing — not one thing.

You said “kèrè” (a meaningless word) has the meaning “proclamation”.

Yet the closest thing to it on your screenshot is “kéré” meaning “small,” or “little”.

Why are you embarrassing yourself all around?

The yoruba world ala is a sub word for allah in yoruba language

The word ala in yoruba means white and in arabic it means self existence, Supreme in yoruba white means Supreme they believe heavenly beigns wear white so when they mention white they attribute those qualities to it, olu was right on this one
.

I laugh every time I see things like this, yoruba, IBO, Hausa are languages that were all LATINIZED not one single one of them and most languages and pronunciation in Africa except for the Ethiopians (Aramic), Egypt( Coptic) had theirs well grounded, Nsibidi was learnt as one climbed higher in the society or the earlier you joined a privilege class of people.

Now that the British who used their vowels/consonants to help in writing our languages and pronunciations when I very well know an Ikeja man don't speak like a Badagry, ogbomoso, Okitipupa, Ekiti man. Instead we have "wannabes" historians trying to use LATINIZED words to conjure RUBBISH
Aramic and Coptic speakers don't need all these rubbish as they have rightly document their history in their words and pronunciations and not one lacking in this but wanting to justify MANIPULATIONs using vowels and consonants that are in variants among their entire group from villages to villages and sadly not developed by them.

Can "White" be said to be white in words and pronunciation in every Yoruba speaking villages?
