Has anyone noticed this and why are Nigerians saying nothing? For a while I have noticed casual search on Google for anything, from inside Nigeria, now returns a page translated in a language I believe to be Hausa.

Always wanted to post about this and get the opinion of others but never had the time.

Strikes me as a dangerous development and I don't believe Google would do this as default unless a deliberate and local 'tweek' is in place to achieve this. Below is an example when I just searched "Adenuga" right now.

Who else is getting this and what is your opinion considering Nigeria has over 300 ethnic groups meaning the safest bet should always be English and juxtaposed with the current suspicion of a Northern expansionist agenda?

Why on earth should Google present search in Nigeria in Hausa as default when this was not the case in the past? IT and techie guys, why the 'migration'?

Change language

Maybe nah your settings. Go change the language.

It has never happened to me unless when I change it to Yoruba.

Did not specify a change of language though. Seems odd and the sort of thing to ignore ordinarily but with the likes of Pantami in charge it is the worst option that comes to mind immediately.

Scroll towards the bottom of ur screen and change ur language. Nothing concern Google with the northern agenda of the govt

Was discussing with some friends a few days ago (Igbos, Yorubas, Edo and Urhobo) and we wondered why it is so difficult for educated and historically lawful Southern Nigerians to get a pump action firearm, the only one Nigerian firearm laws allow ciitiizens to own, through the official channel.

All Southern Governors just met and they agreed on ban of open grazing and backed the convocation of an urgent national conference to realise the immediate restructuring of Nigeria as that poster backed.

We atrack our leaders for being traitors who never 'move' for us. Now they have. Let us all now do our bit, with people power no government can subdue forever, to back them and insist on the restructuring of Nigeria ASAP.

I'm not angry at him though, my only grouse is trying to ascribe everything or anything that's abnormal to either politics or religious conspiracy theories without caring to find out the truth of why it happened.

1. Hausa is the most widely spoken language in Nigeria and West Africa, so naturally, once you switch from English its supposed to take you to the next most widely spoken language. Its nothing political or religious
2. Hausa language has absolutely nothing to do with Islam. If you said Arabic we may consider.
3. The Hausa are actually victims of oppression from Fulanis. Note Hausa amd Fulani speak different languages
4. No be everything be politics and religion, if you took your time to learn how to use a smart phone instead of thinking thrash you won't have a problem with settings. Or don't you wondee why you are the only one with the problem
